Want a pool where there are no rules? This one is for you. Camps of kids galore, running to and fro, LOOK Up! You just got jumped on. Carry home a whole neighborhood of ants looking for the sugary snacks mom packed to eat at the pool. Life guards sleep on the few unbroken lawn chairs there are, so bring your own. No annoying whistles because anything goes.
This place is a law suit waiting to happen.
Trust me, go to one of the other various pools in Alexandria County if you are over the age of 10.

this pool is my family’s favorite pool, it’s great for the little kids and us adults ( who like to tan ) I JUST LOVE THIS POOL

I loved this pool, in mid 50s I lived on Burgess across from the pool, spent every summer day there, l loved the in ground trampoline, the jute box of little cafe soda stand. I had the best summer ever. I also went to Mount Vernon elementary

Clean, well managed facility. Friendly and helpful staff.

It's small buy over all nice structure. You may call to inquire information about the Outdoors pool. There is no updates on website, often there is all sort of randoms and unpleasant close outs. Like pool bio hazard. Group camp. Not enough life guard/ staff. Chemical treatment. Etc. Not very acceptable when involves on planning things for kids.

Do's and don'ts for those who are new to this pool and the city pools in general.
Do: Expect banker's hours which will fluctuate over the summer.
Do: Expect to spend more time strategizing and planning on when might be the best time to attempt a pool visit than actual time in the pool
Don't: Expect to get into the pool unless it's 60 degrees and raining on a Tuesday.
Do: Lobby the city to build more pool facilities.
Do: Expect a decent experience should you be lucky enough to get into the pool on a nice day.

Gaggles of unsupervised children flood the pool all summer. Often there is one adult per 8-15 kids. I shudder to think of how infrequently they leave the pool for pee per breaks.

This community pool is nestled in a lovely neighborhood. Good size with children's pool, area specified for laps & open section.
Lower fees for Virginia residents. Bring identification. Pool appears well maintained. Plenty of lounge chairs & umbrellas. Locker room area with showers. Handicapped access. Street parking.

Love this community pool! Wish pool rules were written in Spanish so that every guest was aware of the rules and the guards weren't blowing their whistles so often...

Love the facility & space overall, & especially the size compared to the Charles Houston location it is much bigger, less overrun by the endless summer camps that take over that place (CH). Wish it was ok to bring snacks/lunch in to pool grounds. I worked at a pool in the summers for approx 8 years growing up and this was never an issue...
We also love the proximity to home and the location in Del Ray; feels like a true neighborhood pool. It is clean and organized, my son & I especially loved spending time here overall this summer during the weekdays and dad would join us on the wknd.
*****Request for Summer 2019*****
Better hours, especially in a neighborhood full of young children/families:
1. Throughout the summer please please open at 10am instead of 12pm! This makes a *huge* difference for those of us with little kids (babies/toddlers) who nap by 12 or 1pm when currently the pool is just opening up. Our time is so limited this summer before camps roll in (1pm) and naptime approaches. Open time at 10am would be amazing for 2019!
2. Please consider opening during the day from Memorial Day (or at least early June!) through Labor Day weekend would be great for those of us whose summer doesnt only run June 20-Aug20! (Not just 430-730pm before June 20 and after Aug 20.)
These hours factors would make it much easier to justify a family membership/season pass. Currently the hours we can go are just so limited it wasn’t worth it.

The pool was very clean and nice but the life guards were very strict. They were constantly blowing their whilse and yelling at kids and adults for random things.

It opens after a 2 year hiatus this summer (2018). Kids are excited. It looks nice, but no deep end. Will be good for families.
