It's a romantic spot to watch the sunset, with a crowd gathering and applauding as the sun dips behind the silhouette of the mountains. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you're staying in the Mount Tamborine area.
A beautiful spot for both sunrise and sunset! Be cautious when driving after dark, the roads can be quite dark.
Spectacular, expansive views, plenty of room for sitting and picnicking. Just don't bring anything that can roll, like a ball. You might never see it again as the hill incline is very steep. Not for those with acute fears of heights. Wind sock to indicate breeze status. Excellent spot for airborne sport, but probably a few too many sightseers at times.
Visit regularly for sunset it's always amazing but very busy on weekends with tourists. I am very grateful to have this as a local spot to come.

This is a hidden little gem. We were the only ones on a Monday morning and had the viewing chair and view to ourselves . Very peaceful ✌️
One of my favourite lookouts!
Great place for the picknick, meditation or just enjoying the moment. Be careful, there is a hill, so don’t let babies/small children be alone.

Shhhh, don’t tell anyone about this spot, just keep it between us 😉

Quiet, serene, peaceful. Lovely lovely spot to just sit and be 😌
Driving past on a Sunday and how lucky we were! Gorgeous blue skies to watch the many hang gliders over the stunning view.
Great spot to watch the sunset and the southern skies. Lots of people enjoying the hillside spot, public toilets here too.

A nice lookout, located at the end of Beacon Road, with a good view of the Scenic Rim, although the view is partially obscured by trees. No marked parking spots, I just parked on the grass at the edge of the road. There is a gate across the road just prior to the lookout and the only facility is a single park bench. Visited on a weekday and did not see anyone else, not sure how busy it is on weekends.

Around the beginning of winter the sun sets perfectly in the middle of the line of view from the lookout. It’s a really clear view, and if there’s some cloud sunset can be very picturesque. Main downsides are a small parking area and viewing area.
Worth a stop if you are in the area for the view. Parking can be busy (there is more parking on the grass on the other side of the road), but the views are worth stopping for.
The park itself is largely just a grass area with a monument and sculpture which is quite steep off the top and probably where the other name 'Hang Glider Launch and Lookout' comes from aside from Robert Sowter Park. We arrived to quite a few people there who I expect were waiting on the sunset as this faces westward.
Probably a nice place for a picnic and to admire the sunset on a nice night, but I expect it will get cool there.
The lookout tower was built in memory of the old land owner. Which got burned down and was replaced with metal tower and that one also got removed and that is a real shame that there is no tower here now.

Hopefully, the Scenic Rim Regional Council should reconsider this spot and build another tower as the view is amazing but because of the tree line in the park, you can not see any view.

Now I don't think this is a bad spot. There are several picnic tables with heaps of lawn space which is also shaded from the trees. So it's a perfect spot for a picnic and especially if you are looking for a quiet place. Pretty much we only shared the park with one other couple who also was having a picnic there and the other bonus is that you can park your car right next to you.

We also had kookaburras flying around us and one cheeky magpie visit us why eating lunch.

I also explored the park a little and found two treks. One on the left side of the park, which pretty much goes nowhere. You just pass some mobile phone towers, but the one on the right of the park is worth a look.

As I was headed down the path I did notice that you are behind some people's property which I hope does not upset them at the end of the path there is a bit of a cliff where someone has cut down the trees and the view there is amazing. I think it looks over Biddaddaba.

Now if you do head down the trek please be careful of the cliff at the end and I don't recommend taking children down there as the cliff is pretty steep.

Really easy to access as the carpark is basically the lookout so no walking required.
No facilities.
A basic view inland from Tamborine.

A real hidden spot of Tambourine Mountain. One of my favourite place to relax and look out westward. The sunset from here is really nice.

28/09/2021 Not a lookout at all, completely surrounded by trees, you cannot view anything.

This place just a picnic area, if you are looking for a lookout, do not come here.

Nice view, and very quiet. Great place to come out and have a look at the mountain view.

This was once a tower lookout but unfortunatly due to the elements they have all be dismantled and removed.

Now it is a picnic area surrounded by trees... and graffiti.

There is a nuber of picnic tables and heaps of lawn space but is it very much a derelict park now.

I wouldn't stop here if I was after a lookout or nice picnic spot.

The view is amazing, it's basically just a big open section of grass but breathing none the less. Recommend going during sunset.
Nice spot to stop to see views from the mountain or watch the sun set
