Super nice staff , loved the gallery
What a great find! My wife and I spent a fun, rainy afternoon exploring the many levels and spaces at The Montreal Arts Center/Museum. The guided headphone tour is narrated by Allan Diamond, the founder and artistic director, who we also got to meet in person and talk to. The eclectic rooms/galleries run the gamut from outsider art, fine arts, antiques to jewelry. I even loved the beautiful wallpapers! Well worth an “off the beaten path” visit.
Located in a beautiful historic building, this non-profit community art center offers so many amazing things. It also has so much warmth and charm.

The piano bar on street level is cozy and classy and the larger event space upstairs is perfect for private and company parties, fundraisers and exhibitions.

There are many art and music events happening here monthly. Themed holiday parties and live music events are always amazing.

Performers and musicians are often booked for special events in the three bars.

The museum is very interesting as well. The permanent private collection includes International, local and regional art, artifacts, photos, paintings and articles.

They also provide studio spaces for artists to rent and host drawing and paint classes.

As well there is a small movie theatre that often shows classic and popular movies and is also available for private screenings and events.

If you live in the neighbourhood or are visiting, I highly recommend a visit.

I have had the pleasure of performing for an event here and it was such a wonderful night.
Delightful new bar in an art center! Beautiful, classy, eccentric ambiance, very fun!
Artistic people/ surroundings, and great drinks! …Very conducive to socializing
Had a great tour of the art center! A brilliant hidden gem. Completely unassuming from the outside and totally not what you'd expect on the inside!
Did the life drawing session tonight and it was fantastic. It was my first time ever doing a life drawing class and definitely not the last! Ian was really kind and helpful with some tips beforehand and I’m really inspired to continue to learn more about drawing and art in general after this experience.

Combination of free museum on indigenous art, gallery selling creations by contemporary First-Nations artists, and art classroom (when I went there, they were holding a class on printmaking, and students were carving the modern equivalent of linoleum blocks). Well worth a visit, perhaps in conjunction with a visit to the nearby Museum of Fine Arts. (Street parking in Montreal is expensive and painful, especially as much of downtown seems to be undergoing road repair/ construction.)

$5 to view 2 small art galleries. Very cool building that is just as inspiring as the artwork.
Came here to do a nude painting. Was hoping for a girl, but the guy was nonetheless very talented and held very interesting poses. Everyone was super nice as well. Looking to come back again soon

Small with lots of beautiful art. I came hoping to find a souvenir not realizing it was very out of my budget. I understand why though of course.

Where art meets culture... a must for anyone who enjoys having a glimpse into the minds of local artists.

Presently I'm having a blast remaking their new front street. It's going to be amazingly artsy fartsy! It's going to revitalize that gorgeous old building.
This place is fun and interactive, a treasure hunt on the self-guided audio tour. Modern and classical art with eclectic rooms and very interesting acquisitions. I recommend this as a place for all ages, for anyone interested in art. Take a Bixi ride off the beaten path, good to combine with a visit to the market and arsenal art contemporain. Worth the $12 entry.

A calm and wonderful place for healing. Every Canadian should come pay respects to the exhibition’s, its free. Grateful to be in a country that can have open discussions about its dark past.

I’m not pleased with the service I got, the Employee Andree was very disrespectful. If a client has a concern it should be addressed and not ignored. I feel extremely disappointed with the type of service he gets.

Beautiful relaxing place to encounter a bit of mostly First Nations and Inuit art for free.
Centre d'art de Montreal is the first art centre that I visit, I have finished my portfolio of University here.

They have nice place for musician and artist, I have seen so much great product here. There is also a cafeteria for artists.

You can rent a room here, and also you can sell your products here.

I happened by this gallery yesterday, my last full day on this vacation in Montreal, and loved the exhibition by JJ Levine- it's photography but Levine uses the same models to portray both male and female characters in the photographs via analogue sleight of hand. It's BRILLIANT. I love small independent galleries like this- much more accessible than a museum and a perfect slice of Montreal. I chatted for several minutes with the gallery's owner (or manager, whichever, she was very good at describing details regarding the artist's vision and techniques) who was friendly and knowledgeable. Class act.

One of best ever random finds in MTL. I spent 30 minutes looking around in here and felt like there were still things I didn’t get a good enough look at. Some pieces made me go : WTH ? Others made me laugh. Very creative and unusual artists. Utterly engrossing. Totally want to go back.
I quite enjoyed my visit, the two exhibits were interesting and I had a nice chat with the person at the counter since it was fairly quiet. The space is fairly small though so it was fairly quick, if you are in the area well worth passing by. They also have some events, so I will be checking those out as well.

If you are strolling around the very popular Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood in Montreal, it's hard to ignore the storefront of this very playful and extremely colorful art gallery on Roy Street.

Wonderful art and great staff/curators who were fun to talk to! This is a nice space with exciting artwork and I love that it's open to the public but still small enough to be COVID safe with few people inside

great news years rave type of event was held here. loved it
I came to this gallery on November 28 for the first time to see an exhibition put on by a group of 8 representational artists. What a great experience. The gallery was packed and the paintings were the cause. This was one of the best exhibitions I've seen in a long time. All of the artists had hung really interesting work but one in particular, Aino Luter, was especially impressive. If well-rendered landscapes, portraits and still lives are of interest to you, definitely check out this space

Foundry Gallery
An old metal foundry building converted to a gallery for arts exhibits and events. Not much to say but sometimes live performances happen. Linked to adjacent Serpent restaurant.

Beautiful exhibition space! Close to Montreal sites. They have a very large gallery ~100 ft long and a smaller exhibition space good got video pieces. The exhibit i saw was Concordia University's MFA program. Notable works: an animation piece that looked like futuristic ice caps melting

Usine 106U is an art gallery right off of Boulevard Saint-Laurent in Montreal. Before reading further, please note that I am pretty far from an art aficionado, so I'll keep this brief.

As you approach the gallery you'll notice rather quickly the general flavour of art that is showcased at 106U. Much of it is experimental, pushes social norms, and is unashamedly bold. That being said, if you're looking for a piece that you can show your grandmother, you could also find a handful of more "tame" pieces scattered about.
The gallery hosts the works of several artists, and the pieces are rotated weekly, currently on Thursdays afternoons around 17:00 when some of the artists may come in.

Even if you don't plan on buying anything, (because the pieces aren't particularly cheap), drop by 106U for a little bit of out-of-the-box art culture.
