I've always been enamored with Australian Aboriginal culture since I was a child. Having a chance to visit Australia and swing by this shop/gallery was great. Makayla was exceptionally helpful. Will definitely make a point of coming back here next time I'm in the area. Bought some beautiful pieces for me and my parents

Wonderful little gallery and shop with beautiful art and lovely products that make perfect gifts!
Visiting Aboriginal Art Co., is a truly an enriching experience. The gallery showcases a remarkable collection of Aboriginal art that beautifully captures the rich cultural heritage of Australia's First Nations people.

The diversity and skill displayed in the artworks are awe-inspiring, providing a deep insight into the stories, traditions, and creativity of Aboriginal artists. The staff at Aboriginal Art Co. are not only knowledgeable but also passionate about sharing the significance behind each piece, making the visit a truly educational and immersive experience.

The atmosphere is welcoming, and the gallery's commitment to supporting Indigenous artists is evident. From traditional to contemporary pieces, the range of art on display is extensive and thoughtfully curated.

Whether you're an art enthusiast or someone looking to explore and appreciate Aboriginal culture, this gallery is a must-visit. I left with a greater appreciation for the depth and beauty of Indigenous art, and I highly recommend Aboriginal Art Co. for an enriching cultural experience.

Thank you to the team at Aboriginal Art Co.
A must visit when you’re visiting Brisbane! Free of charge and you’ll see different artworks. Sculptured, tapestry, pottery, some local and international artist is showcased. There’s also a cafe inside the museum and interesting gift shop.
Really lovely museum, clean, spacious, nice vibe. Staff are very friendly and helpful, good range of art with lots of variety
Stunning venue.

Event - Slim Fashion Awards 2024.
Service was excellent.

On the rooftop there should have been some fans, and everyone could have enjoyed the event without feeling uncomfortable.

Catering - a tad underwhelming, as was sadly very over cooked steaks.
Amazing art gallery. Great collection. Free entry. Nice aircon.
A must-go place in Brisbane, you would definitely get involved in this place's ambience with numerous art works, please see my photos. There are a lot more things there for you to discover, better to enjoy them with your own eyes.
Stunning architecture, stunning lighting. I won’t be subjective at all since I love everything related to art, the collection blew my mind. I really enjoyed Daniel Boyd’s tapestry and Isaac Walter Jenner collection. It has a cloak room, a shop (which does not have much to offer) and a cafe in site.
We came to look at art to purchase today but despite opening time on site stating you were open, you were closed! What a wasted walk when I struggle with my mobility.

Suggest you phone first and check it is actually open before you plan a visit. But they don't answer the phone either or put any signs in the shop front, so its anyone's guess when they are open....
Pay attention to the date on the photos as we went only last week to find out the marvel displays are not permanently there. Only been for a while in 2016.

There was another children favourite display and some arts that was okay.

We enjoyed the art gallery in the museum very much just walking distance from Gallery of modern art.

After these we walked down the river and enjoyed all the beauties that are there.

In all this place is great for short visit.

I loved the experience here a couple things the could do though is they need more interactive stuff it's really just looking at different paintings. A guy followed me and helped me and my grandmother look around. We saw some of Picasso's painting before he got into more pixelated stuff. Overall it was a great experience lots of walking but it was all worth it thank you sm art gallery
@QAGOMA (Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art) in Brisbane stands as a testament to the dynamic confluence of art, culture, and community. Located gracefully alongside the Brisbane River, its architectural splendor is enhanced by the tranquil waterscapes outside.

Spanning both historical and contemporary art, QAGOMA provides a well-rounded view into the artistic evolution, making it a journey from the classics to the contemporary.

The exhibitions are diverse and insightful, weaving together poignant narratives with captivating visuals. Special mention goes to their extensive collection of Indigenous art which paints a vivid picture of Australia's rich First Nations heritage.

The gallery's interactive spaces cater to a broad audience, ensuring that art is more than just a visual treat, but an immersive experience.

A hidden gem within the gallery is its comprehensive library. Stocked with a vast array of resources, it's a haven for researchers, students, and art enthusiasts alike. And the best part? It's accessible to everyone, free of charge.

QAGOMA's dedicated team, ranging from the informative guides to the insightful curators, infuse the space with knowledge and passion, ensuring every visitor leaves with a deeper appreciation for the art.

After soaking in the art, the in-house café offers a delightful respite. Serving up delicious bites with views of the river, it's the perfect space to relax and reflect. Plus, the added charm of a quaint little café corner ensures you can enjoy a quiet moment with a cuppa.
A beautiful gallery with plenty of room to contemplate the surroundings. I appreciated the attention from the passionate reception staff. There's a diverse range of art styles, centring heavily of Australian and indigenous pieces.
The gallery itself is modern, spacious, clean and well run. The art work is well presented and varied. Some beautiful spaces inside and out. There's a cloakroom, shop and a cafe on site. All the areas we visited were free of charge, and kept us engaged for a couple of hours.
We bought tickets for the exhibitions on display eX De Medici and Michael Zavros which were both excellent. The gallery spaces are fantastic, modern, spacious and easy to navigate. The staff were very helpful. There is a cloak room, an excellent cafe, and a shop on site. There was only one other free exhibition which was a little disappointing but such is life.
Beautiful to stroll around the art of ages. The water piece was truly a statement as you enter, allowing you to feel a part of the art. After the immersive entry there are opportunities to branch out into various rooms, floors to take in the various pieces.

My favourite touch of the gallery was the provision of blank pages, pens and boards for those creatively stimulated and desiring an outlet. This little feature is something that makes me want to go back time and time again, to find a little nook and sit, draw, and allow the creative juices to flow while surrounded by the inspiration of others!
It's such a nice museum with very beautiful layouts, and the exhibition is so well presented with good commentary and background of the artwork. It's very quiet and there are staff walking around to make sure everything is well organised. There's also a little gift shop, toilets and cloak room at the entrance. The best thing is that it's free!
Only 2 exhibitions were free, the other two were quite expensive so we didn't bother. "Gone fishing" was free, and the indig. works diverse & exquisite.
After we wandered down to the museum then to the QAG. The latter is entirely free, and we happily wandered every space. Magnificent!

An absolute gem nestled in the cultural and cuisine district of Grey St, South Bank, Brisbane
As someone who loves art, I was delighted to visit this free art museum in Brisbane. The collection is impressive, with a diverse range of artwork from both local and international artists. I particularly enjoyed the contemporary pieces and the thought-provoking exhibitions that challenge traditional ways of thinking. However, compared to the Queensland Art Gallery, which is also free to enter, I found that this museum lacked some of the depth and breadth in its collection. Nevertheless, it's definitely worth a visit, especially if you're on a budget and looking for a cultural experience in the heart of the city. The museum also has a gift shop where you can pick up a souvenir to take home. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would recommend this museum to anyone looking for a dose of art and culture.

Incredible range of First Nations art and products that are perfect for your home, office, or gifts. The staff are super friendly and with the expertise to help you purchase exactly what you want. Amazing to feel reassured that you are buying ethical, authentic and quality pieces. Came for the artwork, will go back for the Magpie Goose!
Brilliant, worth a look for everyone, cheers
Such a great experience! The current exhibition is amazing, Rebecca Belmore's show is profound and a must see!
Wonderful intimate Art Gallery, welcomed with a smile together with innovative artworks. Thank you for brightening my day.
Excellent space, fantastic exhibitions and staff!
Gorgeous space. Amazing works, so well curated and artist talks that are both engaging and inspiring. A must see when in the area!
An excellent gallery space with thoughtfully curated exhibitions all year round. Often has artist talks and tours throughout the exhibition program that are not to be missed. Well worth the visit!
A hidden gem. A really great gallery that consistently support QLD artists and art students. Always a show to look out for! Definitely recommend popping in for a visit.
A little gem of a gallery with some great progressive and thought provoking exhibitions.
