Overall a nice camp site for day trips or camping. Everything seems well maintained and clean. Plenty of access to the lake, hiking and biking.
The rangers in the office were super helpful and friendly as well.
Great summer camping site. See beautiful sunset, and milky way up South in dark sky. Very low boat traffic but full of symphony of nature…

Our group spent the weekend here, the kitchen +dining area has AC, which is nice for the hot summer. The kitchen includes all the appliances that you need to cook and storage for your food. You need to bring your own knives and plates and bowls, and don’t forget your oven mitts. This place allows up to 50 people to fit in. Each spot has water spigot and 110v/220v outlets for your needs.

No showers restrooms only not the cleanest but definitely not bad
We are currently staying here, and we are enjoying the peace and quiet. Camping spots are well spaced, and we are steps away from a little beach area to swim at. Friendly park staff. We will definitely return.
Lake Somerville State Park in Texas offers a beautiful natural retreat with activities like camping, hiking, fishing, boating, and birdwatching. It's a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy nature and unwind.
Beautiful, cool day, rain had just ended. Good trails, clean park. Took a grandchild and our dogs on the trails and by the shore.
This place is magical!! The restrooms are well maintained, the view is just beautiful!!
1st time here, didn't get to see a lot but the park rangers were very nice & helpful. Good trails, well groomed(could use more trail signs) but ya can't really get lost, just not always gonna come out where ya thought. Looks like lots of camping spots, Hook-ups for RV's, showers, rest rooms, and some camping spots had a horse pen! Very cool, I went for a day hike with my dog(dogs allowed on leash) and was only a $5.00 park fee. Definitely give it another look see & maybe camp. Hope this helped.

Great place for a rally.
The campsites are a little close but not too bad. There were stickers all over so get ready for that. The water was pretty far down but people were still swimming and fishing. A helicopter came and stirred up a huge squadron of brown pelicans that were sitting on the lake. That was all pretty awesome to see. My husband loved the bike trails. This is a beautiful park and we didn't have long to visit.
Nice group area.

Didn't know it existed until my wife and I went up in the closed park rd . Really cool camp sites 59. 39. 28. All of these sites are good for camping children playing guitar having fun and maybe a couple of cold beers
