We reserved a camping spot that we picked out online on sept 7th for Sept. 22nd and 23rd. I planned a trip took off work early drove 4 hours to a campsite that was taken over by the boyscouts. Campground was full. All they could say is oh "That's Why the boyscouts are here. Excuse me but we reserved a spot way ahead of time. We got sent on our way to drive an hour to find a hotel. The owners of this place are inconsiderate of other people. I planned a trip spent money on food, supplies, gas. 8 hours of driving. *uck this place!

Easy to drive campers and 5th wheels in and park they have group spots if you want to be all in one spot with a gathering area in the middle. They help you park and are super friendly and helpful for any questions you have. It is right off a huge paved trail. There is a bar and grill with an outdoor patio to eat and drink hang out with friends and family and just be together. Their food is great. They have volleyball basketball and some other outdoor activities as well as events like car shows and live music from time to time. There is an event building you can rent that has weddings in it often. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay with plenty of things to do.

11:00 checkout time is ludicrous. I like to dry all my things out so I don’t have to do it at home. Minnesota state parks I stay at have a 4:00 checkout time. My other favorite campground has 3:00. Motels have 11:00 checkout, not campgrounds. All he neighbors near me were rushed. I didn’t see any of them even have time for breakfast. (The youngins stay up late and sleep in.)
The location, 15 minutes from downtown Duluth is superb, as are the bathrooms, which are cleaned daily. The office has more souvenirs that a Loves Truck stop! Considering the location, I’d say $30/night was reasonable for a tent with no electric hookups.

Pretty enjoyable spot. Make sure to bring your own grill or tripod for the firepit if you're planning to cook. Also the tent area can only fit a 4 person tent max.

Pretty good campground, was my first time camping. We did the walk in tent spot E which seemed to be the biggest one for the walk in tent, the pictures online & reviews made it seem like they are private but spot, C, D & E are all 3 in a triangle next to eachother which isn’t fun if you want it to be more private & not hear others. Spot A & B are literally on top of eachother would recommend that if you are going w a group and it’s more private. Campground is close to the parking but parking isn’t labeled. No one was at the office when we got there because of not having enough staff & didn’t get an email on instructions once we got there so we were a bit confused. Porta potty right outside our campsite though which was nice, bathrooms & showers are actually pretty nice, honestly did not have problems with bugs at all. Our campsite had tons of HUGE acorns falling constantly so if you get spooked by noises constantly wouldn’t recommend

Was great place nice owners. Sites are closer together but ur right off the water for some of them which was wonderful. We came for a Sunday night so it wasn't to busy and actually asked to switch spots and they were fine with that no problem. Would I go there again yes!!! It was beautiful only two showers but they were not busy or had a wait once I can't say that it would be the same on Friday or a Saturday but it was great there.

Loved Mountain Biking at Spirit Mountain the trails were great! Howver i struggled with teh trails not being properly marked.
When you get off one trail its hard to tell which way to go to get on the next. We ended up down a harder run I wasn't ready to go down because it wasn't marked. It was fine I walked most of it, but the trails really need to be marked better. and putting a sign in between 2 trails without an arrow pointing to the correct way to go also isn't helpful.

Beautiful campground with good showers and an outhouse. Very nice place.

I reserved a tent campsite here and it was lovely. They were flexible with dates when I had something come up. There is no electricity at the tent campsites but there is water and porta potties within a short walking distance. There is also a large shower room within driving distance. There are 4 showers per side (men's and women's) and a huge area to get ready with several sinks. The building was very clean. The campground is also really close to Jay Cooke State Park, which is a plus. The campground is tucked into a forest off the highway but you can't hear any cars, just trains occasionally. My only critiques are that the tent campsites are pretty close together, the free wifi doesn't work at the farther sites, and if your campsite is next to the porta potties you can smell them at times. Overall thought, I would recommend this campground.
TLDR: good campsite in a good location with just a few minor downsides that can be overlooked.

Got into Duluth Wednesday night around 8pm. Called and they had a tent camping site available for $45. Checked in when I got here. Staff was extremely inviting and very knowledgeable of the surrounding area. The lady gave me some maps and suggestions of places to see/visit in the area. Was a nice place to stay for the night and others campers were courteous and quiet. I got a good nights rest and a hot shower.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Love it here. My family can't wait to come back thank you for everything

Great campground! Perfect location in Duluth and great campsite. I will come back sometime!

Very nice, but crowded. Better for seasonal rvs. Small public shower/bath.

I stayed at one of the tent sites along the river. I brought a friend who has never been camping before and she continously gushed over how gorgeous the site was right along the river (I believe it was 21A). She had such a fantastic first time camping. There are vault toilets (which are the absolute cleanest vault toilets I've ever seen, as I am an avid state park camper and have used many) as well as a flush toilet stall as well as two shower stalls (in the women's bathroom, I cannot attest to the men's bathroom). The campgrounds host came and introduced herself after we arrived which was very nice (never had that happen at any other campgrounds) and the entire grounds was extremely clean and quiet. My only complaint (which honestly nothing can really be done about) is that the road is kinda noisy. I recommend if that kind of thing bothers you, bring ear plugs to sleep. Other than that tiny thing, my experience was amazing and I'll definitely be back!

We took our kids camping for the first time here and they constantly ask to go back! We love Spirit Mountain Campground! The hiking trails were fun to explore. Being able to walk across the road to the Adventure Park was a bonus!

Favorite midwest ski hill! Great, long runs. Beautiful view of the twin ports from above. Nice food court and clean chalet.

For sure you need to make a reservation before to try to go.

This park is beautiful. We stayed a total of 12 nights. It is close to a state hiking trail. It has a restaurant, basketball & volleyball courts. Good laundry room with 4 washers and 4 dryers and lots of folding counters. There are rest rooms and showers close to the Laundry and restaurant. The managers were great!! I would love to give them a 5 star review but they did not have a complete fenced dog park. They also do not have any dog on leash rules. I had 2 off leash dogs try to get into my trailer. We have a very friendly dog but I don't know how she would react if a dog came into her house. We also had very large dog charge our dog when walking her on leash in the park . I sincerely hope they do not have a dog attack another dog or a child.

This is one of the nicest campground I've ever stayed in. They have a bar/restaurant, hiking and mountain bike trails. There is a lake for fishing. There are basketball and beach volleyball courts. The lots are big and the water pressure was great. Very clean showers and port a johns if you need. You can use the baseball field as a dog park. It was quiet and family oriented.

Pretty over grown and really only one large campsite. Decent break spot but would recommend hiking on if looking for a camp spot for the night. The site does have one hammock spot and a large area for a few tents. Didn't check out the water source, but it is close by and appeared to be a beaver pond so shouldn't be a problem during dry periods. A trail notebook is also located here so don't forget to record your journey as you pass by.

This place is great! Not 1 single mosquito. They must spray the living daylights out of the place, but it's worth it's weight in gold. All else is as you would expect from a campground.
Bonus, great spot for mountain biking. Ride down in the morning, and then close out at the end of the day, all without getting in the car.

Such a lovely campground! The owners are so helpful and kind and made sure to ask if we needed anything, check in with us throughout the weekend and answer anything we had for them. The restroom/shower/laundry room was clean. It’s right on the St. Louis river and they have a dock and porch provided for fishing off of.

We stayed a week recently. The park was once a baseball field recently turned into an RV park. The space between sites is great, your not on top of your neighbors. The park is very quiet and close to everything. Perhaps a little too close to the casino but. Lol...
The only drawback we found, and I'm not sure what they have planned if anything for this, the site are rustic, little grass (which I know in time will grow) but there is a lot of red dirt/clay which is very difficult to keep out of your RV, especially when it rains.
Overall we were very happy with our stay and Darrell, well he's a hoot. He always answered our calls, was helpful and just plain nice.

A true gem in my opinion. Small, intimate, friendly, great location. Highly recommend.

great little spot! wouldn’t want to be here during busy season, however. the sites are on top of each other- staff was super friendly though and bathrooms were so clean. also, tons of spots to jump on an awesome trail system from your site.

Best toilets ever. Amazingly clean porta potties!
Quiet campground, well kept, family & dog friendly. ***Pack ear plugs for night time trains. No fault of the campground; several loud trains passed at 2am.

Great place to stay. No frills. Everyone is easy going and campers are left to their peace and quiet if they want. And if they want something more interesting, there's a bar and grill on site. The food was great and the guy that drove a golf cart around offering wood at a reasonable price was also very appreciated.

As campground manager, Darrell goes above and beyond. Jill and Ronnie and Verna are great. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend you stay here. You won't be sorry you did.
Also very convenient to local amenities and activities.

We go and check out the trilliums and wild woodland flowers each spring. The woods behind Spirit Mountain are stunning!

There are NO HOTI showers at either bath house!! I paid for hot water and it doesn’t exist. The reason we booked it was because they advertise hot showers. There are a lot of empty spots here, but we ended up in the smallest spot in the park. The “Store” is extremely limited. This is the reality id staying here. We won’t be returning.

Amazing welcoming campground. Great fishing spot. Perfect Middle location to duluth and Jay Crooke State Park. Super friendly staff...when leaving she even gave us two handmade blankets for our fur babies!!!

Very friendly staff working today and the alpine coaster is so much fun! Loved the views and the beautiful green trees surrounding me!

We stayed a few days at this campground and had a wonderful time! The hosts were great! It is about a 5 minute drive from downtown Duluth. The camp shop has ice, wood, and a few small things you may have forgot, like marshmallows. They have wifi, but it is more for checking emails and wouldn't be suitable for work. We are already looking forward to planning another trip here!

Fun place to snowboard with good runs, including a board park. Can be pricey, but just gotta keep an eye out for the deals

We have been waiting in line for 30 minutes and the line has move like 5 people. The online pickup line is even longer. Something is really wrong here. I don’t think we will be back. In the current day of technology there is no excuse for this. I have skied a bunch of other places and never had lines like this. Its also a weekday.
We ended up waiting 1 hour and 35 minutes. Got to the line at 11.05am.

Super rad mtb trails. All the trails are fun, from the greens to the double blacks. Especially the tech, when they say double black, they mean it so be aware of very hard tech on some sections.

Beautiful campground with an awesome trail connected to it and water on 3 sides. The owner was incredibly friendly and their cute store has anything you may have forgotten. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Nice, clean, and peaceful campground. Most spots were well secluded, especially the walk in tent sites. The sites were spacious and well shaded with mature trees. The bathroom and shower building was clean and well kept. Online reservations and info were easy and helpful.
Another cool component was hiking trails galore and great downhill mountain biking trails right from the campgrounds. We jumped onto Superior Hiking trail and had a nice relaxing hike and were back to the campground for lunch. Jay Cook State Park is 15 minutes away, downtown Duluth and lift bridge are 10 minutes away. Just an all around great location. We'll definitely be back here to camp another time.

Owners are so friendly and this campground is usually quiet and relaxing and with the new online system implemented the campground seems to run so smoothly this year. I stay here in the summer and love the location and seeing the other guests that come yearly as well. Right on the river so perfect for kayaking, boating and fishing

Spirit Mountain hosts year round activities that range from serene walks through the peaceful Superior Hiking Trails to some absolutely wild mountain biking trails, wedding event venues, an adventure park with zip lines and alpine roller coasters, camping, skiing, and some incredible sight seeing.
Its an awesome place, well maintained, friendly atmosphere and has something for everyone.
We recently attended an absolutely beautiful wedding at the chalet which was very well done and enjoyed the company and the experience.

We really like this campground and would definitely come back again. Every site seems to have very good privacy coverage. We were in #39 pull through with no one visible. Lots of trees between sites. The only con (for our site) is that power and water are on opposite sides, which is awkward. But if you have a 50’ water hose you’ll be fine. (That is just our experience at our site. Others may be different.) Still.,. Highly recommend this as a summertime getaway.

Prices? If any

Nice small cute campground very family friendly. Very nice people that own it also.

This is a lovely, quiet Campground situated on the St.Louis River.
There is a boat launch, bait shop and boathouse with a shower. There are tent and camper sites, hiking trails near by and fishing. No swimming beach.

Great campng spot between Gary and Duluth. Conveniently located and has a variety of rustic to full hookup camp sites. Pet friendly and affordable. Amenities include showers, bathroom, laundry facility a new fishing dock,, little general store and rentals for kayaks, canoes and bikes. Highly recommend checking this gem out!

The views from the riverside sites are awesome. Otherwise, the sites are VERY small and right on top of one another. The dumping station has next to no water pressure in it, making it very difficult to clean out the black tank. Also, need to be careful coming northbound around the curve on Hwy 23 as it's easy to miss the entrance, then it's a downhill into the campground (meaning an uphill to leave which can be tricky when going onto 23 towing your camper out).

There were trees around.

Always a great time nice and clean and quite.

We have been here two times over the last couple years. This is one of our favorite campgrounds! The location is perfect, close to Duluth but far enough out so you can avoid the traffic. The adventure park is fun for the whole family! The washhouses have seen better days but they are always kept clean!

The campgrounds are nice, but the sites are not well spaced out. Campers were not following the quiet times per the rules (3am - 7am were rough). Good fishing and lots of small agates to be found!
Update - Spent one night on 6-23-23 campground was clean and quiet. Easy access to the site we stayed in.

We brought 7 children to this campground & slept in a large tent (9 of us). The children ranged from 5-12 years old and they absolutely loved this campground. They all brought their bikes and they were able to ride all around the campground. The seasonal people were so sweet with the kiddos and the kids pet every dog at the campground. Very very friendly campground. In the evening about 20 children from the campground were all playing hide & seek tag and one parent gave them all glow sticks. We have stayed at many many state parks and the kiddos said this is the coolest and most fun campground.

Definetly not what we expected. No privacy in campsites, only 1 firepit. Very nice trails to hike. No grounds manager type person to get ahold of, had a tree fall within a few ft of our tent

This was the worst campground I have ever been to!!! It is literally cut out spot just out of the parking lot and no privacy dividing up the sites they are smack dab next to each other dont go there its a waste of money if you like that i will let you camp in my back yard it would way better then this place

Good for a stop on the SHT. No water when I was there in October, but there is a hydrant that maybe provides water in warmer months.
Big open grassy area that is mowed and maintained well. There's a good firepit.
It's right on the UMD campus in Duluth and there are many people around and much vehicle noise

The BNA Campground has 6 walk-in, tent only rustic sites. There is Park and walk-in access available from May 24 to August 25 (2019) and backpack through access available any time. 4 of the sites can be reserved through UMD Sports and Rec and two sites are non-reservable. The campground offers access to the Bagley park and trails and the Superior Hiking Trail. There is running water, a single campfire ring, and portable toilet.

Pretty good campsite on a pond. One very good tent pad, one okay. One site good for a hammock.

Beautiful camp with two tent pads. The fire ring has a nice view. Water source is a stream just south of camp along the main trail.

Campsites are pretty close together but enough room for a family and large camper. $200 a week/$25 a day plus electric, and Teresa the manager is very nice. Docks available for $6 a day and Superior is 15 minutes away for easy shopping. Water, electric and sewer hook ups at all the sites, pet friendly, picnic tables and fire pits at all sites.

Very happy with the campground. Nice setting, very scenic. Only 7 full hook-up sites. Plenty more with power and water.
The longer I stay here the better I like it. There is a nice walking trail that gives great views of the water.
The folks in the office are really nice and willing to help with any issues.
Next time I'm in the area I'd be happy to stay here.
I hope in the future they have the opportunity to increase their full service spots.

Nice camp. The river is a good water source and is close.

I love hiking!!!

Small, onnly saw 1 tent pad, water source is a pond
