Started walking the Park again, it’s always cleaner the further upstream you go, it’s a lot cleaner in Fox Chase but Lincoln High area is an easier walk. I see they are trying to crack down on the people that abuse it so that is nice. My only complaint , and it’s everywhere is with som bike riders don’t get that they are a vehicle and if they come up behind you they have to yield to walkers.

Love it there so clean and peaceful
Beautiful year round, Not sure if we understand how nice it is to have a suburban feel right in the city. It breaks up the urban from the suburban

Super Cool Spot by the old train bridge. Nice comfortable walk, a little wet but not so bad it wasn't enjoyable. Perfect place to pull off and take a break from the hustle and hustle of the town.

I never considered how many wonderful memories have been had for the 58 yrs. ive been going to diffetent areas of pennypack park. as a small child my older sisters would take me with them to enjoy summer fun and imagine how my grandmom told me in the 1920s the water was so clean they would bath and eat fruits off the trees!, when i became a teenager we would enjoy walking thru the section behind lincoln highschool, going to little city( an areas we went in cars to make put) or go to pleasant park on a weekend to run into friends who would drive thru in cars or motorcycles- there was always a crowd on a nice summer day!( again, this was once a place my grandmoms family would swim in the early 1900s) as i got older i began enjoying it once again for they put so much work into it in the last 15 years by adding trails, maps, new sections for picnicing or walking, new activities mostly for free that are a wonderful way to get out and meet new people in a city thats been so ever changing. changing!
These days i venture to the bike trails and other fun beautiful nature in the arras of pennypackpark outside the city. They have a wonderful bike yrail with parking on welsh rd in near 2nd st.pike and another on county line rd in warminsteri. From the bike trail to the walking trail this is my new adult disney land! The beauty is breathtaking! you feel like you are walking thru a scene out of a Thomas Kincade picture! From the streams to the beautiful old homes on the hills, to the giant rocks, memorial benches, lots of wildlife including many chipmunks, even little book swap boxes.... i guareentee you i never leave without feeling truly like ive just been to heaven!

Absolutely loved the Happy Hour with Goats event. Staff were very friendly and goats were, well, very friendly too! There were plenty of goats and we could pet them all we want. They also did a quick goat yoga which was awesome. I’d come back.
A beautiful local nature museum, hiking trails & education center! We came for a short hike over the holiday weekend and enjoyed ourselves! Many different hikes to choose from flat, moderate to hard. It's definitely a nice option when we're ready for a nice hike in our neighborhood!
Every Science teacher in Philadelphia should be taking advantage of this amazing local resource! Talk about the ultimate field trip! My fifth graders had an amazing, informative and super-engaging experience. Field trips are lead by a team of expert environmental educators who have created a curriculum that is incredibly thoughtful, fun and standards-aligned.

There are programs for all ages, K-12. (Preschool too!) Available topics include sustainability, ecosystems, trees, soil and many more! Grant funding was available for my Title I school, making the trip completely free! The Center is also open to the public year-round!

The folks at The Schuylkill Center are absolute pros! Each person has their own expertise and specialty; they were all so knowledgeable! Our bus was met by the staff at the Welcome Center. After bathroom and water breaks, they did a circle-up to go over expectations. We separated into small groups and cycled through four stations over the course of the morning, hiking from one station to another.

After lunch at the pavilion, we hiked as a group to the Forest Free Play area, which is an awesome pine grove that is set up for tree climbing, fort building and general exploring. The kids had an absolute BLAST! It was so fun!

Shoutout to Teachers Sam, Sky, Jason, Declan, Amelia and all of the hardworking folks who are so dedicated to preserving a true Philadelphia Treasure! Can't wait to come back!

This place is a nice place to walk. I like it. If you're into walking around with a big giant stream to your side this place is for you. Bring your puppy, bring your special friend, bring your kiddos. Bring your pet alligator whatever floats your boat. Lots to do here folks.
Plenty to learn here, for adults and children alike

Visited this park recently and charmed by its beauty. The pathways are great for both walking and biking, offering a serene escape amidst nature. What's especially commendable is the cleanliness; there's minimal trash, making it evident that both the management and visitors respect the environment. Highly recommend for a peaceful outdoor experience!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great FREE & EDUCATIONAL spot for kids!! We love visiting the farm, especially for the goats, chickens, and kid’s play area. It’s a small farm so manageable to walk around with a toddler or baby in carrier. Trails are stroller friendly with good wheels. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch the Philly Goat Project goats out for a walk and get to pet them.

There are also community gardens here where you can tend to your own garden, a great opportunity for those who may not have the space otherwise. They offer a lot of free community events throughout the year, including family fun Sundays!
The Pennypack Environmental Center is a great place to learn about nature and what the surrounding areas in Philadelphia have to offer.

Great park in East/North-East Philly. The atmosphere is great, and you'll encounter a fair number of people. Very dog friendly as well. There is some trash around which takes away from the park's beauty, and be careful of glass shards if you choose to go off the paved trail.

My favourite part of the park is the creek. I found it to be a calming and healing experience to just walk along the creek or sit on the big rocks at its edge and just listen to the sounds of nature. Please be careful while trying to get down to the creek, as the trail can be dangerous and slippery depending on the weather.
Lovely little piece of nature. Beautiful array of goats. Farmers Markets starts up in April. I'm from out of town but this will be on my list of places to visit when I come back throughout the year.

Good place to cycle when the trails are muddy. Busy area on weekends with people and animals, so I avoid it unless you go early. Large parking area off Pine Rd. With the trail extension in Lorimer Park the ride goes all the way into Bucks County.
Love Awbury!! What a beautiful place that is situated in our community. So many wonderful people and events that you can learn from!!
Beautiful park... Quiet. There is a bird viewing 'house' where you sit on benches and you get to watch the birds and nature. There weren't many people there I don't know why maybe because the environmental center was closed. However you can visit the park as long as the gates are open. There are lots of trails and it's just a beautiful place. Please don't litter,
Have a great time!
I like the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education. It has great programming and beautiful grounds, but there are also a few things that could be improved.

First, they've added several trails and ponds. In the previous Summers, I had a few run-ins with ground bees.

The second thing is that their programming is excellent, friendly staff and volunteers, and the grounds are beautiful.

Schuylkill center focuses on a few ecologically connected exercises. From preschool to plant deals, and homestead plots to simple climbing, something kids and adults can equally be benefitted from.
Love my organic Garden however it was HOT yesterday.
I've been taking hikes here at this Schuylkill center for years now and it just keeps getting better!! They've added several trails and ponds I have had a few run-ins with ground bees in the previous Summers but no injuries thank goodness 🐝 I definitely recommend stopping by this Google center and taking a nice walk it's great in any season!
Great space/beautiful grounds. Lots to learn about
I love the outdoors and went on a nice little hike. The weather was a little chilly but it was a beautiful day. The woman in the picture is Rebecca Dhondt. She used to work here and has many fond memories.
This was a most interesting and enjoyable event focused on the process of extracting sap from maple trees and making maple syrup.
Went for two events centered around the mudhif installation. Excellent programming, friendly staff and volunteers, and the grounds are beautiful. The dedicated, knowledgeable team at the wildlife clinic are also a credit to the mission of the center.
For a $20 donation you can drop off your Christmas trees and give the goats food. The Christmas trees donated go towards feeding the goats for an entire year! Free hot cocoa, marshmallow toasting and goat petting are some of the perks. There is also an opportunity to buy some goat swag too. Try the hand lotion for a nice treat. Venmo accepted which was fantastic! You and the little ones will have a nice time and get out for some fresh air.
Great spot for the kids. We took our toddler here for a walk and its just the right size for young children. Sseing the chickens and goats are a nice treat.
The Pennypack Environmental Center is a great place to learn about nature and what the surrounding areas in Philadelphia have to offer. It’s a great resource for those interested in learning. There are also exhibits and events. Good for all ages. An enjoyable experience.
We had a wonderful dinner prepared by our in-house chef Bonnie Schumann our tables were beautifully decorated it was a beautiful Rainy Night on the farm
A well established yet easily overlooked green space in Philadelphia, the Schuylkill center offers a number of environmentally linked activities. From preschool to plant sales, and farm plots to easy hiking, there's something for everyone.
I attended the Full Moon Nature Walk tonight. This was my first time at the Pennypack Environmental Center, and I was really impressed with the facility and the event! Lots of local environmental info, cool educational exhibits, very knowledgeable guide, and absolutely lovely nature preserve - all within Philadelphia city limits. Highly recommend for the beautiful nature experience and learning opportunity :D
