I absolutely love this place. It’s got character, tons of shaded seating outside, great coffee + food, friendly staff and a great neighborhood hangout!
This has been a recent favorite of my friends. Great food, great coffee, and while it's small, it works hard to give you the perfect short rest and recharge in your morning to lunch time.
I highly recommend you go and take someone with you to enjoy it.

Great location. Excellent service and lots of seating with plugs. WiFi isn’t blazing fast, but definitely a good place to be able to get work done while enjoying a caffeinated beverage
Way too slow, you have to wait in line for over 30 minutes. It’s just one lady working like a turtle.

First time here. Simple menu with reasonable prices. Ordered the breakfast panini ($10.75), americano and Mexican cake (a tad dry), but ok with the coffee. Staff was friendly and the vibe is chill.
Went there for the first time with my boyfriend and we both really love this place. Their coffee is rich and flavorful and their sandwiches are delicious and filling. The prices are decent and fair for the sizes of their foods and drinks. The employees are also very sweet and get along very well with every customer. I overall I highly recommended this place and is now my to go to coffee shop:))
This place is always filthy
Probably my 2nd or 3rd visit ever - been craving it and was washing clothes down the street. If the delicious smell of all the food doesn’t lure you in, you’re missing out. Such a simple menu, yet food is packed with flavor! Got the turkey chipotle and Mexican mocha. Great folks and atmosphere and adequate wait for the food. Love that they have space for local artists to showcase their work and a section for business cards. What a great way to build community while bringing rich flavors to the neighborhood.
I live and work in this neighborhood since the 2000's. I used to have my espresso there every morning at this location, but I realize that Clairemont Cafe has way better service and products.
This morning we're in a hurry so I decide to have a coffee with my coworkers at this Starbucks location, but was a big mistake. First, my coworker was trying to place an order, but the barista Victor, couldn't understand or make any effort to understand his Arabic accent, treating him very poorly. It's sad to see so much xenophobic peolple these days.
And no surprise: the order was all wrong.
The "cherry on the cake" was the "Shift Supervisor" Maggy, saying that I not suppose to call him "damn" just because he did a big mistake. Actually, she was right, I should call him XENOPHOBIC.
None of people from the business around this location will be a customer. SHAME ON YOU STARBUCKS!

I didn’t catch his name but the drive through worker with earrings and a goatee was rude everytime I have came to this location. He had an attitude when I asked him to fix my drink when it wasn’t made right and I think that is unacceptable when I pay $6 for a drink and isn’t made the way I would like it.
They are really wonderful here. Everything you hope for.

The worst experience I have had. Coffe was wrong three times
I don’t know how you are still in business. The coffee tastes burned, the food looks and tastes like it’s been sitting out for 3 days, and you don’t let people try your other roasts. You only brew 3 different kinds. That’s a huge mistake from a business perspective. Why can’t you brew and showcase blends you are selling and let people decide what they buy? I used to come here to study and got drinks but I can’t deal with burned coffee. It’s a very basic thing you can’t seem to know how to do.
This is my second time coming here and I'm starting to love this place🩵 I would always come to this place now before going to work 😊❣️
Needs more staff. They're trying but can't keep up with the orders. Waiting for online order while watching order in get drinks first. They ordered after I was already waiting.
This has been my go to store for 4 + years at least. The staff here has always been amazing and I love that they all remember who I am and treat me with such respect. Love you guys!!
Not a very clean outdoor area to sit and enjoy. Needs a good scrubbing and maybe a fence or something to designate Starbucks specific patio.
Fun cafe in Normal Heights with a simple menu. They don’t have a huge selection but from the items we tried it was delicious. Has the breakfast panini with Turkey and a Mexican Mocha. The panini was really delicious, crispy, saucy, and just the right amount of heft to it. The coffee mochawas pretty standard but good. Also had a Mexican chocolate coffee cake which I’ve never had, simply delicious. Would definitely recommend. Parking can get tough. Lots of locals though so it’s all good
This is one of the best little cafes I have ever been to. The lattes are 10/10 and the paninis are so scrumptious. Good quality ingredients and so well made. The patio is beautiful and the perfect spot to relax while you dine. My friend and I went here two days in a row for breakfast because it was so good. I highly recommend everyone goes here but I agree with the other reviewers and hope it doesn’t get too busy and popular.
I’ve lived on the block for several years before walking in here and man did I miss out. The paninis are fire, the banana bread is home made and the coffee is great too. The service is fast and friendly, if you’re in a time crunch, call in your to go order and they will have it ready. If you were thinking about it, just go and try it.
Everytime I go to this starbucks and see the manager, Bonnie, she always has a different attitude with each employee. It is evident she plays favorites and is quite rude and blunt to the employees she doesn’t like, it has became so apparent that even the regular customers, like I, have picked up on her negative ways. Under no circumstances should a MANAGER be talking behind the workers back. This is absolutely unacceptable and you are making the poor staff miserable, since no one will stand up for them, I will. Do better.
As a byproduct of my work, I find myself working in Starbucks all around Southern California, and this location surely sets the bar for overall experience. 🎊🎊👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🎊🎊. From the friendly greeting upon entry, to the pleasant order-taking experience, to the nice and prompt conversations, to the cleanly store appearance. My tea was handed to me with a smile and a thank you (which has become increasingly rare in much of the service industry). It was delicious and refreshing, and exactly as I ordered. It is clear that the team is treated with care, and because of that, they have great chemistry. My Friday truly started off well at this location. As I left, I was even invited to come back and told to enjoy my day. I hope my next project is nearby this Starbucks. It's hard to single anyone out because the entire team made my experience so pleasant. Happy Friday!!
Mona was extremely lovely, patient, and excellent in her service. We had a group of nearly 20 and everything was handled in a timely and graceful manner.
An unfriendly woman works here all by her self with absolutely zero service mind. Terrible spot.

I’ve been here a handful of times, various times of the day, both drive-thru and lobby. The service in both the drive-thru and lobby is friendly and efficient. I’m never waiting very long for my order. The lobby offers plenty of seating options with power outlets and is usually clean. It’s great for a scenery break when working from home or studying. My food items are always consistent and warmed appropriately, if needed. Drinks are so-so and could use more attention from staff and management for consistency/quality control.
I really want to like this Starbucks, the staff is super friendly and its right next door to me so i go often. But they just miss the ball every time i go. Whether it is using the wrong milk, adding cinnamon on top instead of shaking it into the drink, making the drink wrong or serving a bacon gouda sandwich without any bacon on it. Its all minor issues but when you are paying a premium pricetag for a premium drink, this location simply doesn’t hold up. Gonna have to start going out of my way to find a new location.
So unfriendly and condescending. The older lady is way too slow. And takes forever taking orders. You ask them a question and Before you can finish speaking they always say no. Needs better training and communication. Get new people.
Unfriendly stuff, bad customer service, unprofessional. I always drive for 6 min to avoid dealing with them.
We love this starbucks! They make great caramel macchiatos, better than other stores. They are also very kind and will remake a drink if you're not satisfied. We even brought a drink made at a different location back to this store and they remade it for us.
