This was our second visit based on a good experience back earlier in 2024. Booking on line was easy and the table was ready on arrival. The location and setting is lovely. Again, the selection of craft ales was a little strange and random. A selection of local real ales would be my preference. The first disappointment was that the menu has been reduced in volume compared to earlier in 2024 (no goat curry, jerk chicken) and then to compound matters we were advised that three items on the limited menu were unavailable. For starters we had the three different types of Arancini and we were delivered 7 smallish balls for a cost of £36. For the main course all choose the special of Sri Lankan fish curry. The fish was cooked perfectly as was the rice. The very thin liquid curry was bland and had us all reaching for seasoning.
Overall a big disappointment compared to before. Please bring back the wider menu, get some local beers on tap and make sure you can deliver what is on the menu.
Fantastic gem of a place in beautiful surroundings. The menu is tremendous. High end food. Staff are great, try this place, you won't be disappointed.
Cannot state how amazing our experience was today. There was a mix up regards our booking and rather than cancel us, they opened up early. Food was freshly prepared and beautiful. A large and diverse selection of ales. Roger was very welcoming and knowledgeable host. Will return
Excellent place to drink something surrounding by old buildings with beautiful architecture - complete immersion in the English countryside! Strongly recommend it!
Went along to try the new menu from Momma Bains.
Service as well as the food was very good.
What's even better, we could have our doggies with us.
Managed to get a pic with the main guys as well.
A fantastic place for first class beer, food and service. Great atmosphere, Highly recommended! The pinsa (Pizza) are absolutely amazing! ❤️👌😋👌
Great pint and nice atmosphere. The food looked great.
Also dog friendly but no water bowls. However the chap did bring biscuits round.
Good selection of beer.
My partner loves his real ales and after seeing this Pub on Facebook I decided to bring him for a visit, he absolutely loved it and was spoilt for choice. The pub is lovely and the chap that served us was very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend a visit
