Butter prawn Delicious 💯Restaurant right across the road from the beach☺️ and the service excellent 👍👍👍

We had dinner at South of India in New Brighton last night. The restaurant was not busy. Service was good. Food was delicious. I would recommend. 1 of us was vegetarian and there was a good selection of vegetarian meals as well as meat options.

The best south Indian food. Fast service and generous food portions make it perfect for a Friday night out. My son enjoyed the butter chicken and cheese naan. Highly recommend this authentic South Indian restaurant.

The restaurant itself is not that spectacular to dit in, but luckily the beach is just some meters away. Getting takeaway at eat at the beach is the best choice to make. We only gad to wait 20 minutes for two dishes, which were really tasty! The butter Naan was also good. This restaurant has a wide variety of non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes which all have a good price.

Authentic Indian kitchen cooked as ordered concerning spicyness. We had 5 different dishes, all good to very good. Fair prices, fast service and food can also be ordered for takeaway. I would go again tomorrow.

I would like to give the big shout to Emma who was so kind enough to facilitate our very late check in at mid-night.

I previous booked 2 air-bnb and other motel but none of them could be able to work with our late arrival schedule.

On Sunday I sent an email to Emma and even during weekend she still manage to email back on time. We are based in Australia, Emma even called me to help me with the booking over the phone.

I found Emma was so helpful, kind and caring. Definitely deserve the 5 star or even more and thanks also Redwood Hotel that makes me first travel impression into New Zeland such positive.

A very very long wait for our meal some of our group had good service but 2 people had a extremely long wait then served on wooden platters wasn't ideal

A little dated but total value for money. Great amount of room inside and out for two young children. Staff and servicing if room cannot be faulted

We have been here a couple times now, absolutely love, has beautiful clean lawns the kids play on, heaters are always top dog!! Lovely lady at the front desk. Rooms are out dated but doesn't effect anything haha beds are so comfy. Really enjoy this spot and would come again next time we are passing thru :)

Great rooms. No hot water. There is a separate kitchen area from the rooms so if you wanna cook something you have to walk over to it. Those are the only problems.

Good old fashioned tradie pub, good value big bowl of chips. Free chips and fish bites on the Friday night. Very friendly staff, made you feel like a regular.

Food at the reddie is a great family friendly restaurant. Fantastic value for money - you never leave hungry. Our kids love the dessert bar making there own sundaes. Excellent value for money with friendly staff you can't go wrong.

Host and hostess very courteous and friendly.
Food had banana bahji(spelling not correct). Curly fries.
Lamb and mint sauce,
Bahji dish was burnt. deep frier oil was stale, I could taste the oil. the curly fries were frozen from a package, they were over cooked , crunchy potato almost totally dried out. Unfortunately the lamb was tough, cooked hard and fast, smothered in mint and parsley paste which was stuck thick, the sauce did not match the meat. I've not tasted south Indian dishs like these, prepared beforehand like these were . The lamb was tough. I do not support the chef excuses, were poor. Dish of bahji was replaced and was not burnt, however the meal left me with dissapointment.
I can honestly say the food is Not up to the standard of the service staff. We do not recommend this venue.

We shared 3 starters and then had a main each. Probably a little too much food, but it was delicious. Also no rush to leave so we got to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

The place is a humble, cheap, clean and friendly family owned business. The hosts, Emma and Sooty, are positive and accommodating, with the cutest supervisor Mimi on board to help anyone with anything. There's great, affordable food and drink next door with the added bonus of complimentary drink vouchers on arrival. WOW!! Will definitely stay again, thanks team.

Amazingly flavoured food during our dinner. Not the usual curry house food, authentic flavours and generous portions.
Also for people looking for indian style chai, this is the place! Highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere restaurant with good service….the size of the dishes needs a bit improvement

Food and service just ok. We felt the food was tasty and a good generous amount. I give 4 out of 5 because waiting too long.

I visited the Permit Room after being recommended it by friends. I was not disappointed. The food is amazing and very authentic. Such depth of flavors and not like your typical NZ style of Indian food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty authentic South Indian flavours.
They also do amazing cocktails, which was a nice compliment to the meal.

Yummm, ordered 5 entrees for 3 of us + 2 naan breads.The fried Cauliflower and cottage cheese entrees served with onions and spices were the stand out dishes 6 stars.So good!.The other dishes IE chicken,prawns and naan bread were good fare.Not often I give 5 stars but hell that was good!!!

Very tasty and filling meals at a great price, plus has Heineken!!!

Amazing experience! Delicious food with authentic taste! Reasonably priced. Good range of options for foods and drinks. Awesome and quick customer service. Great ambience, convenient location and easy carpark. We enjoyed our food. We ordered kerela fried Chicken, mutton curry and porota. We will definitely visit again. Highly recommended :)

We are from out of town so our “go-to” spots were not an option tonight. However, this spot was an excellent stand-in. We started with the Chicken 65 which was spectacular. Then a Lamb Madras & Paneer Jalfrezi for dinner - scooped up with a perfect garlic and cheese naan. If we were locals we would definitely be returning!! 10/10
