Brilliant selection of drinks of every kind. Staff were polite, helpful and friendly. Food was very good and some good deals to be had. Well worth a look and visit if you are in the area.

We visited in Nov mid week. We also had a dog, who was welcomed and water provided. There is plenty of space and the Christmas menu already. Food is presented on huge plates, but the quantity, although sufficient, looked tiny in comparison. Everything was hot and cooked thoroughly, so we were happy with the overall experience.

Came here with two friends for birthday celebrations. The place is huge, clean and modern. We came for bottomless brunch, food was fab, the service was so friendly, shout out for Lauren, so kind and helpful. Didn't even know this place was here, we will definitely be back.

Always call in on a weekend as it’s the latest open music and lighting are top tier and fab staff and door staff 👌👌👌👌

Love this place! The atmosphere has improved so much over the last year. It is fast becoming the place to be on weekend nights with the lighting and sound quality resonating down the street. It brings a really good party vibe. I think the ideas they have for entertainment are brilliant with reptile shows, disney events, character visits, easter bunny brunch and halloween parties. I especially loved Andy John as Freddie Mercury, would definitely book if he comes again. The drink range is fab, food is delicious and the MXR app is great for points and little treats. The lady who runs the Family Games Nights and does the games for the themed Bottomless Brunches is exceptionally good at her job, she's hilarious!

Apparently the manager, don't get caught eyeing up another man's fiance, and then crying to the security after you've been called out. 🔔 end

Giving one star cos there is no zero. Shitty management and staff. Price of drink keep changing every 30mins and when you what to find out what's going one ,they throw you out.

Been here for half an hour and still nobody have come round to clear the tables

Yesterday I visited for lunch with my family and I'm appalled.
We ordered 2 cheese and bean toasties for me and my sister, 2 lattes for my
grandparents and a cheesecake for them to share. (Which they tried to charge her for 2 of but a refund was given)
The menu stated the toasties came with chips and at the till the server asked if we wanted normal chips or waffle chips, failing to mention the waffle chips would cost extra.
And who's not going to choose waffle chips over normal chips! So he conned my poor grandma into spending more money.
The lattes came cold and were hardly lattes, genuinely thought it was just hot milk...
My grandparents asked if they could have the cheesecake now with their lattes whilst we ate our toasties (which were incredibly bland and the cheese tasted artificial it was such a disappointment) and the server said alright.
Not even kidding, half an hour later, toasties gone, lattes drunk still no sign of the cheesecake.
And they weren't even busy at all, hardly anyone in (it was 2pm on a Thursday) so I cannot understand why it took so long.
It got up to the point where I went to the till to ask for a refund for the cheesecake because was ready to leave.
Fortunately for them, in the time it took for these slow slow servers to serve this old lady in front of me the cheesecake arrived right as the old lady was finished being served.
We got it boxed up and left. (It was also a tiny cheesecake slice, not worth £4.)
So to conclude,
Poor serving
Lousy workers
Unsanitary (sticky tables, food not being cleaned for ages despite them not being busy)
Bland food and drink
And to top it off
They conned my poor grandma into spending extra money.

Joined this bar to watch England play Switzerland. This venue has 2 tvs however 1 was not working. The one that was working kept freezing and lagging and none of the managers seem interested in this. It eventually resumed but was around 15 mins behind the surrounding pubs and most patrons had now resorted to watching on mobile devices.

The 2 Jnr staff behind the bar were polite and apologetic for the very long ques and slow service. This was understandable on a game day. However also behind the bar were to staff sporting managers badges. These 2 individuals did not appear to have any grasp on the fact that the bar was getting clogged with people wanting drinks. In fact when one was questioned by a lady as to why he was tidying and not serving, the exchange seemed to get very heated very quickly which then culminated in the manager saying he would not serve the lady. This was at their discretion, however they then seemed to ask other staff not to serve the lady or anyone at the bottom of the bar thus slowing service further.

In a later attempt to by a drink, whilst in a Que, this same manager had entered into a 2nd debate with a patron around there need to tidy and not help the Jnr staff members serve when the bar was busy.

I would advise the owners to look into this as the attitude of this individual was counter productive to the very narrow window an England game offers to sell beer. Especially in a time when the bar and pub industry needs all the support they can in these hard times.

Unfortunately we chose to leave before extra time to find a more welcoming and actively engaged venue.

Hidden gem up a side street, great atmosphere, quirky decor, great service , plenty of drink options plus some obscure choices, great banter among customers, highly recommend this pub especially when the live music kicks in....

This pub has wonderful atmosphere! But the owner needs to pay attention to the cleanliness of this establishment! We went in here on our 3 day break the toilets had no soap for 2 nights? Which I pointed out , also it was clear that no cleaning as happening as the toilets are dirty ! The stairs leading down there was dirty and clearly wasn’t hoovered ! You need to pay attention to detail.

Paid for a sea view room, got a room with a view of most the hotel and you could just about get a view of the promenade on the left. They did change it but the view is non existent at night. Would not recommend it. The guy at the desk was great, the lady who booked us in at 4, wasnt helpful, as she was unsure what to do.

Always gets a lot of bad press but we have been a few times and the rooms are not always perfect but the rooms are lovely and warm the bed comfy and the staff are really good. Nice to go back to after a day out. A hot shower and a nice buffet meal. Plus a nice glass of wine at the end of the day. Winner winner 😁

We booked for a week with our two small dogs, the staff are friendly and that’s as far as I can go to be positive about the place.
The room was shocking, and when asked if we could move Ben said there’s nothing he could do. Hence we left after 2 nights and booked into another hotel. No refund or partial rebate. To say it’s a large double when the sink is in the bedroom cause the shower toilet is tiny is a con, the cleanliness of the room wasn’t fit enough for our dogs never mind us. Very disappointed with the attitude of a certain staff member, the owners seemed oblivious to the problems. Never again

Lovely old hotel, very impressive on entering.
Unfortunately, things only got worse from then on.
Large queues for the lifts when they were working. Rooms were very tired looking, and our shower was very dirty. Even after several complaints to staff that our quilt appeared to be a single inside a king-sized quilt cover. They failed to sort it.
Food was adequate but nothing to right home about, although the dining room staff were friendly and welcoming.

Overall, this could be a fantastic hotel if someone put a lot of money and work into it.

Read a lot of bad reviews but the hotel is a lovely building with lots of architecture. The dining room has amazing views overlooking the sea, it could do with ceiling painting. Our room is clean, with a brand news bathroom suite, bath and shower. The radiator can be turned up and down as required, so its lovely and warm. Some of the bedrooms are currently being renovated. A few people haven't been happy but they have moved them to another room A hotel of this size must be constantly in need of some updating but we have had no problem.

This is a must stay hotel. Very homely. Comfy. Nothing to much trouble. Pay as you go breakfast at a very reasonable price

Great location. Good value for money. Yes the furniture and furnishings are so overdue upgrade they are now quirky retro but the bed and bathroom linen were crisp and clean. Definitely didn't see anything to justify a horror story report.

I feel the menu at the bar could be updated. Lack of choice . Add pasta dishes . Not a bad place over all .
Went to have dinner at the bar today nobody told us that they start to serve at 6pm again poor customer service..The lady at the reception didn't even apologize. Who owns this place?

Very small rooms. Very noisy at night due to a bar over the road. Food wasn't being served. Room was too warm. Didn't really get any service to can't comment on that.

Scarborough', "Irish pub". This is our first time visit. Guinness was OK. But nothing like what you'd get in Ireland, having spent most of August in the Emerald Isle. Live music was OK. But we'd have preferred traditional Irish music as opposed to modern songs. Would we revisit? Yes,we would.

Beautiful building from the outside and common areas but our bedroom was very dated. Food was edible but nothing exciting. Breakfast was slightly better. The best thing was the view of the seafront from the dining room.

For starters, this was a very cheap hotel, it was £125 for two nights which was a very reasonable and worth it price. The room was okay but had some drawbacks. To start with the windows barely opened making it damp and mouldy, the curtains had inconspicuous stains on them and the duvet didn’t fit the cover. There was some wall art which we removed to see what would be under and there was an air freshener which was encrusted to the wall and left a big greasy mark, we did replace it all though. The bathroom was underwhelming, the sink was in the room meaning to wash your hands was a back and forth process, the towel dryer and toilet roll holder was orange and grimy with rust and muck. On our last morning we went for breakfast and it was cheap but you get what you pay for, the buffet area was clean and appreciated though. On a night the bar was lively and cosy, drinks were very expensive with 2 doubles costing around £13. We don’t drive but parking permits were provided. Staff was lovely and all very chatty, although we do believe the place to be haunted as there were a lot of creepy things happening. Quite noisy at night with people coming in late, wouldn’t recommend if you were coming with kids, didn’t quite feel safe with the door lock as it could have easily been broken in a situation.Overall it was worth the price, it’s in a very convenient spot and perfect for a quick stay. Probably wouldn’t stay again but it’s an option most definitely. Still a strong 4/5 stars

Very atmospheric pub, nice decor and feel. Arrived as it open on a Tuesday and quickly filled up, obviously a popular bar. 1st stop on our next trip to Scarborough

Rooms are small, beds are big, clean sheets, no sea view even if the room was on the sea side. We booked 2 rooms (for us and kids), and they gave us different folders. The reception queue for registration was taking almost one hour of waiting.
There are plenty of dogs inside!

Clean and tidy, nice interior. Drinks can be pricey but not much more than anywhere else. Plenty of big screen tv's around for watching live sport. Had food here a few times and always been satisfied. One of the better pubs in Scarborough.

Stayed For Three Nights , Comfy Bed & Tea Making Facility's. Due To Recent Fire In A Nearby Hotel Staff Advice On Nearby Parking That Was Vast L3 Areas. House Keeping Staff Could Not Do Enough , Highly Recommended Hotel & Staff.Also Pet Friendly.

Travel
We stayed at the Rivelyn Hotel for three nights.

Location
The Rivelyn Hotel is very well located. You can quickly reach the beach promenade and the city centre, and a supermarket is not far away. It's easy to get there by train, and there are parking spaces.

Check in
The check-in was very uncomplicated. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Room
The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and nice.

Breakfast
Breakfast was very tasty, freshly prepared, plentiful and priced reasonably.

Pub
In the evening you could also spend some time in the hotel's own pub. The food is also very good.

Luggage storage
It was no problem to leave the luggage in the hotel after check-out.

Conclusion
Very nice hotel, good location and very friendly staff. We will be back for our next holiday in Scarborough, thank you!

Basic but inexpensive hotel. Staff very helpful, and the meals were very good, although a basic menu. Good value meals though. Hotel a little tired in places and could do with a spruce up. All in all though no complaints. Recommended

One of the best bars in Scarborough, huge selection of spirits and great entertainment most nights. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful with going through the drinks on offer. Would highly recommend this to anyone for a drink always a warm welcome 🍻

Delicious food & drinks. Would definitely go back. The cocktails are especially good. The decor in the place and the bathrooms are beautiful, the service is fast. Overall a lovely place!

We had the best night in here watching local talent in an open mic night.
The pub was really busy which added to the atmosphere
The entertainment was eclectic, singers, ukelele players, unicyclists and much more.
Loads of character and extremely well run bar

Food was delicous, cocktails were fab and the staff were lovely. However no toilet roll in any of the cubicles and untidy bathrooms let it down, would have been 4/5 stars otherwise.
