Awesome bar, just like my buddies basement growing up! Not very popular but great location, cheap drinks, and don't forget to bring a sharpie!

This is an outstanding dining experience. If Kansas City had Michelin ratings they would give a star to Novel. The egg appetizer was complex and delicious. The pork chop was the star of the show. Our server was knowledgeable and we were not rushed.

I haven't been there since the 90s, and I'd like to know what genius divided the bar in half for a tattoo shop.
I'm also trying to figure out the previous owner's name that had blonde hair medium build.

Novel came highly regarded by friends and was good but just didn't feel worth the hype or value. The vibe is clean, bright, simple, standard expensive American.
The service was great. Friendly, engaged, was willing to explain everything on the menu, frequently checking on us. Overall great service.
The appetizers started off strong. The brussel sprout salad, fried sunchokes and crispy egg. The flavors were really flavorful, unique and balanced. Then we got the rest the ramen which Eaters insisted you needed to get if available and the gnocchetta. The server did say that the flavor was mild and changed recipe recently but honestly it was disappointing with how flavorless it was. The gnocchetta was good but nothing to write home about. The pistachio pie was good. Overall it was a bit lack luster for the price which is disappointing considering the friends and reviews.

If you enjoy fantastic craft cocktails in a great atmosphere you must visit Novel. Located on the east side of the crossroads we wish we would have tried it earlier because the drinks, food, and service were all top notch. We stopped in on Friday night before First Fridays and sat at the bar since we didn’t make a reservation. Every cocktail we had was packed with flavor and creativity. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful from the bar to the bathrooms to the patio. You can tell the owner really took the time to make this place stand out. We had the bread service and the toasted hummus was incredible. We are also a huge fan of brussel sprouts and they were some of the best we’ve had in KC if not the best! The dining room fills up quick so make sure to book a reservation!

Just visiting town and stopped by this cute bar. This bar tender was super funny and had the best vibe, I went bar hopping, so just ordered a couple of drinks, but this one was definitely my favorite bar I visited during my trip.

Our 1st time visiting. We got seated soon as we entered this was a Friday around 11am or so maybe a little after. The Owner Marty was awesome he made his rounds stopped and held a conversation with us. When I say he knows what dishes are created on which plate, my sister plate was clean yet when he came to the table to get our feedback he knew exactly what she ordered just by the plate she had. That's someone who is Intuned/present with their business, which speaks volumes.
5 🍴 food was SO GOOD.

Everyone told us to go here for the best brunch and it Farmhouse did not disappoint. There was a line at 9am but we sat at the bar and were served really quick. My daughter had the Pumpkin Spice French toast and I had the eggs Benedict. Both were fantastic.

Delicious brunch, the huevos rancheros dish was phenomenal, the pork shoulder was super tender and the rice and tortilla paring was perfect with it, although the sauce was on the salty side.

The service was awesome, very friendly and welcoming, will definitely be back to try out other things on their brunch menu.

Good little greasy. Service depends. Compared to River market, here is much quieter for breakfast /brunch. KC restaurant tax much high as 10% -13% depending location. This one over 10%, if u go Main Street, it is about 13%. Manger mad at waitress because she help me changing table near by restroom to street side. Until waitress tell her I place order already, she is satisfied.
Have frequented the Belfry many times over the years and it's always fantastic. On our last visit I ordered a burger and it was hands down the best burger I have had in KC along with some delicious hand cut fries. Not surprising at all but it was so good I felt I needed to leave a review. Small space but you can order and hang out in the gameroom and play some pool if it's crowded.

We had a reservation for 7! The service was great!! Food was also good! The coffee was served in a French press which was cool! We also got the large cinnamon roll and it was AMAZING!!! No matter where i go, im guaranteed to get a cinnamon roll of it’s on the menu, and this is one of the best i have had in KC!! Unfortunately, no picture of it. Was too excited to dig in!!! Parking was kind of a pain though (on a Saturday morning in July).

We both loved our burgers. The house made ketchup is SO good.
I'm not a bourbon person but my friend is and enjoyed the Bib & Tucker 6 year that the server recommended. He was very knowledgeable about bourbon and made recommendations based on her preferences. We are so happy we found this place! If I lived here, I would come here often!

I had been wanting to come here for quite a while now. The atmosphere was very relaxed and felt just like a farmhouse, with a bit of an upscale twist.

We had the BLGT sandwhich, Smoked Chicken Salad sandwich and the Johnny cakes.

The hamdcut fries were excellent, not greasy and loved the flaky salt.

The BLGT was excellent, smokey, cheesey a tiny bit of heat, we both would get it again.

The chicken salad sandwich was just ok. The chicken was tender but it lacked flavor and the celery was just a bit large for my personal preference. Bread was soft and pretty good.

They Johnny caked were the star of the brunch, savory cornmeal cakes with a sweet and creamy ricotta butter drizzled with honey. It was the perfect treat and would like to try with bacon next time.

We were seated promptly and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The portion sizes seemed small to me, especially considering the price. I understand the food is supposedly higher quality so perhaps that justifies the price. The server, though pleasant, seemed overwhelmed, which hindered her ability to provide great service.
Food was tasty, but my over easy eggs were way too runny.
Coffee was delicious and promptly served.

A solid 3.5/5. The cocktails, the hamachi crudo, and blue crab tortellini were all incredible. In fact, I’d put the crudo up for top dish in KC. The rest? Blasé. I had the walleye and a taste of the lamb and the pork chop — none of them were remarkable or worth their price. The walleye was bland and the components don’t complement or contrast it. The caesar salad was good but it seemed out of place on the menu. The other main courses didn’t even seem appetizing, so I can’t imagine this menu rotation lasting much longer.

The biggest dinger for me with Novel has been the atmosphere. It feels impersonal and noisy every time. Novel has so much potential. With a little warmth, a little space, a little character, and menu that offers both comfort and adventure, I think it’ll be great.

Really love this place. With good food and being in the heart of the River Market, it seems to always have a good sized crowd so I highly recommend a reservation. I really admire their farm to table model as they support farmers from both Missouri and Kansas. This place is really a breath of fresh air and I’ve never been disappointed. To drink, I tried the dragonberry spritz and it was quite refreshing. I ordered the Chicken N’ Biscuit and really loved it. Definitely one of KC’s premier brunch spots!

This place is the perfect definition of a hole in the wall. The food was amazing, best spot for a burger prices were great. When you go you have to sign the brick wall.

Food- I got the brick burger with a fried egg and fries. Now as you all can see I went half way through the fries before taking the pictures. lol

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Service was friendly and courteous. Menu was very interesting and, for the indecisive, pretty huge. Food exceeded my expectations, especially the Pub Burger. Weekly specials looked awesome - I can't wait to come back. Fun, dive-y atmosphere that doesn't beg to be different, but is not your average restaurant. Seem to have diverse customers, so that's a plus. Looking forward to my next time at The Brick.

This place is tucked away but worth the discovery. The staff was excellent and went above & beyond to make the dinner special. Deliciously crafted dishes that tickle your tongue with flavor and texture. From the appetizers to dessert, Chef Ryan knows what he’s doing and we’re lucky he’s sharing his craft with Kansas City. Highly recommend.
Been to a couple locations and this one was one of the most impressive.

Our server, Luke, went above and beyond to take care of us.

Food was unique and good, beer selection was diverse, and everything I had was fresh.

Oddly enough, the kids activity book was really cool. Not just the usual tic tac toe, but there was a few neat musical puzzles and questions that got my family and I all engaged with it, with my son. Hats off to the creative team for that!
This is the best spot in Power & Light! Live music, great service from the bartenders and servers (especially Bekah), and fair drink prices. Love it here.

One of the best restaurants in Kansas City. If you want to try food that is unique yet flavorful I would recommend this place. The crispy fried egg appetizer was something we felt truly stood out. Also, our server Nate made elevated the experience that much more.

Good dive bar near P&L. Advertised Happy Hour specials....when we asked what they were, we were told no specials.

Paloma was not good.

Food was decent enough for price.

We had fun and enjoyed ourselves, but probably won't go back.
Howl At the Moon is always an amazing experience. Bartenders and waitresses are always helpful and in a great mood. The atmosphere is out of this world and is a great place for fun always!! I would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for some fun at a great place with great music.
Ali is by far the best person I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. She was very attentive and made sure that our evening was the best that it could be. I will be back and I hope that I'll have the pleasure of having her wait on us again! Well done Howl at the Moon!

I normally have a great time when I come to see music here, but this last time we went, the service was really sporadic and seemingly very distracted. The place was packed. We put our drink orders in immediately, and our waitress never came back to check on us. I flagged down another waitress who became irate and started giving all kinds of excuses as to why an hour was an acceptable wait time for 3 cocktails. Not to be. We got those drinks. Understandably, the house did not get a tip because they didn't deserve one, but I did tip the band because they were very good and shouldn't have to miss out due to the incompetence of the venue.

My husband and I popped in here before seeing a comedy show & T-Mobile Center not knowing anything about the place, and wow we loved it! The bartender Robin is so personable and good at what she does. The divey atmosphere had us feeling right at home. Not to mention, finding reasonably priced drinks downtown is practically unheard of! We ended up stopping back by after the show, and plan to come back any time we are in the area. Thank you Robin & Zoo Bar for a great experience!
I’ve been here a total of two times now and I really love it! My first visit was one of their themed nights (emo night). I didn’t have a table and it was pretty busy that night so I stood by the railings near the back of the bar. The band was fantastic! The bartenders were fast and super nice. The second time I visited I paid $120 for a table and honestly will do so every time I go. It was super nice to be closer to the stage and have somewhere to set our drinks. You can have friends with you by your table even if they didn’t want to buy one which (I guess contrary to others opinion) I really enjoyed! I saw in other reviews that people didn’t like how crowded it was by the stage. I actually didn’t mind it. The open space by the staged is used more as a dance floor and I thought it was fun to get up from our table and go dance and socialize. The band engages with the crowd, played our requests, and was very talented. I really don’t have anything to complain about with this place. Everyone I brought with me (all different ages) really enjoyed it too! Definitely my favorite!!!

Atmosphere is 10/10. You can hear yourself think but it’s busy enough that the “vibe” is there. Didn’t have the greatest experience with my first plate but the waitress was incredible that she offered to replace my entire meal with another one. AMAZING staff and atmosphere. And GREAT gnocchi pork shoulder dish.

I love me some Yard House! It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City😊 I had my birthday dinner here last year, and I go here for happy hour sometimes, or just because I’m craving it.

So far just about anything I’ve ordered food wise has been good. My favorite meals are the Maui pineapple chicken, and their orange chicken. Their sweet potato fries are delicious too (if you’re into that). My favorite cocktails are the peach Malibu (as seen in the picture), and the black orchid! Delicious options if you like sweet cocktails.

The service in my experience so far has always been great! The servers and bartenders are really nice, helpful, and attentive! The only thing that sucks is finding parking since it’s downtown (especially if an event is going on) lol. Otherwise.. I definitely recommend stopping by 😊🥂✨

The Zoo Dive Bar is a Graffiti Paradise!!

It is a little step into history itself, and so much fun doing so. You can find pictures, articles, and writing from quite a few decades.
Our bar tender was extremely nice and personable. Also the locals were funny and a real woot to chat with. You feel welcome as soon as you come in, and that was exactly what we were looking for in a little hole in the wall.
There is a pool table, and music of your choosing from the jukebox!
Everywhere you look you can find something, and if you look again, you'll likely find something new! It's an exciting place. Highly recommend.

FYI this is a CASH ONLY BAR!

10/10. Food. Service. Price. Atmosphere 💯++

We had the fried pickles, I had the grilled onion burg & the hubs got the pubby. Heaping in house fries that were crispy & remained crispy (not the soggy in house fries).

I had 2 cocktails perfectly portioned with fresh mint (spiced pear mai tai) the hubs got 3 craft brews. Our total for the evening was $65.00 unheard of really for the amount, quality & value. Service was quick, friendly, we never waited long for a drink or food but neither felt rushed either, we could have sat and hung out all evening. THIS PLACE IS A GEM!! Although labeled as a dive, the place was clean, food plating was nice & bathrooms were very clean. I’m legit pissed no one has told me about this place…

One more thing! Lots of healthy options as well and next time I’m totally trying one of the salads… they sounded delicious. Will be going back soon.

This place is very cool. For lovers of live music, jazz, and great cocktails. We got there early and the music was already going. The vibe is dark, cozy, a little mysterious, and overall very cool. The service was good and the drinks were even better. Highly recommend for a nice date night (if you already know your date). Not a great place to chat if you are trying to get to know someone. This is a quiet, relaxed, soak in the music kind of place.

Went for New Year's Eve cocktails & drinks. Fantastic appetizers. We enjoyed the Short Rib Bao and NYE Special Smoked Salmon Deviled eggs. The skirt steak was good. Gnocchi was alright - more of a dumpling. Turns out I am not a fan of lamb, but if you enjoy lamb the lamb shank would have been good. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. Fun vibe.
Really disappointed with the experience here. A couple of the musicians were really talented but the rest were embarrassing to listen to. Playing several instruments poorly is not what we were expecting in a piano bar at all. The music selections were like from a cheap wedding.

We paid $140 (you get a $40 drink credit) for a table and were excited to be seated right up front but after like 2 songs the whole front area was filled with people dancing (terribly) and so we couldn't see the musicians at all. Plus everyone was really drunk so they were spilling drinks everywhere and bumping into our table trying to shove the chairs out of the way. Complete rip off. The server was either really slow or just totally overwhelmed so the drinks took forever.

We've been to piano bars before and so I was really excited for high quality musicians and a good show but all we really got were a couple dudes screaming into a mic, one really good female singer and a TON of very drunk college kids and their parents. So weird.

Definitely don't waste your money here.

We came here a few times as we were staying at the Hilton President. Absolutely loved the vibe and the service was impeccable. I just wasn't a huge fan of the cocktails in their menu. There is quite a variety on the menu and I think it's a really cool vibe in the establishment. Even though I didn't love the cocktails they created, I do think it's a cool place to go and I would recommend. There's a lot of other things to choose from on the menu.

I'm really glad we finally stopped in to try this place. We weren't sure what to expect from the outside, but inside has a fun and eclectic feeling. They have a stage for love music, but we've yet to see a show.

What keeps us coming back, is their kitchen and daily specials. They offer a delicious variety of comfort foods, including tator tots and house-made fries and many of their dishes can be made vegetarian! Including all of their hotdogs and even chili!

They have a fully stocked bar and the wait staff have always been friendly.

You can dine in or we've even gotten several orders for take out and they've packaged the food in paper-based containers that don't make the food all soggy. Thank you for that, Brick!

What a great spot. Good little beer menu, and impressive whiskey and bourbon menu, not too mention other cocktails. The pretzel bite appetizer was delicious, as was the Mac n Cheese. Had a great time talking with the amazing staff. Sergio was my bartender and his personal list of hand crafted cocktails was amazing. He told me about his passion for making new drinks so I tried a couple, and although I typically don't do cocktails, his creations were top notch. Overall, just a neat local establishment. Cheers to the chef and the staff!

Ate the pommes frites, the shrimp and crab hush puppies were TO DIE FOR, steak meal and ravioli. All were great. Finished it with their in house melon sorbet which I would buy by the pint if I could. The service was amazing and food came fast. Loved the cocktails!
The Black Dolphin is a jazz listening lounge in the heart of Downtown Kansas City which was designed for the afficionado of not just excellent music, but also fine atmosphere and strong, tasty craft cocktails. In terms of sheer lumens? This bar has lower lights than any other establishment in Kansas City, or frankly anywhere on the planet. The lighting and every detail were clearly designed and placed with intention and care. It gives the bar's vibe a coziness which is instantly welcoming and sophisticated without being pretentious. There are two colors: black and orange. All of the illumination is provided by tastefully located ambient overhead lamps and warm-temperature vintage star globes which are easier to just see than to describe. The whole feeling is that of a 1963 cocktail lounge right down to the vintage orange resin "Black Dolphin" sign itself which hangs above the Steinway. The Black Dolphin is the more subdued & subtle sister-club to the rowdier Green Lady Lounge across the alley. Just like The Green Lady, however, the musicianship at this joint is consistently top shelf just like the martinis, and once you set foot in The Black Dolphin, you'll realize you've never been in another bar quite like this before in your life.
This was the worst piano bar we've ever been to. I paid $240 in table fees for a prime spot for my husband's birthday just to have people stand all in front of us and not be able to see or get to the stage for request. I don't think they even played our request. I left to go to the bathroom and when I came back someone had pushed our seats out of the way to make room for their group. We always go the Howl at the Moon or Pete's Piano Bar when we travel and this was hands down the worst one. We just moved here and will not be back unless they adhere to the typical piano bar seating policies. I want a refund.. total waste of money.

Oct. ‘24:

After our first visit to Novel, it really stuck with me as one of my very favorite KC restaurant experiences and for months I had been looking forward to returning. Once again, I was thoroughly impressed. They put effort into their mocktails which are quite nice and the food here is well prepared and full of flavor. I particularly enjoyed the crab ravioli and the ramen. The ramen doesn’t have as much broth as one may expect, but the flavor is outstanding and the dish is cooked perfectly. On top of all that, service is truly excellent and we were well attended to. The atmosphere is quite relaxed and great for a romantic date. Looks like we’ll continue to return!

2023: Truly outstanding all around. From the nice atmosphere to the great service and stunning food, this is a place you must try. The cocktail I had (smoke n flowers) was perfectly mixed and my wife loved their mocktail as well and it’s nice that they have a couple mocktail options on the menu. I had the Wild Alaskan Halibut, which had a perfect sear. The accompaniments of the dish were quite flavorful as well. My wife loved the farm chicken roulade, which is served in medallions and perfectly tender. There are definitely other options on the menu we’d love to try so we’ll be back.

We enjoyed the Black Dolphin. The jazz was good and the band was having a lot of fun with it. It has a nice atmosphere and is a fun space. We came closer to opening on a Friday night, and there weren't a ton of people, and it was an older crowd. As time went on, more people came, and it got decently busy. However, we were the youngest people by about 10 years, even at the end of our time there. The crowd was mostly 30s and up. There is a $5 cover charge here. The thing we liked about it a lot, though, is that it is set up to be more of a show. People whisper to each other, but for the most part, it is quiet, and everyone is watching and listening to the jazz band there. The booths and couches were also very comfortable and clean.
Overpriced mediocrity. Almost $30 for two beers on draft. Also, charging a "facility fee" at a bar is entirely unnecessary & pathetic. Reeks of a scam. If you want to be grifted through this proxy of a development company, then the Indie On Main is for you! The bartender was at least a kind & friendly person which helps bump the rating from one to two stars.

Hidden, sneaky food and cocktail gem … @thebelfrylounge

I’m not sure why we have not been, we walk by it all the time but finally went and it was great.

The theme for me is randomly perfect.

The drink menu is huge and has a variety of options. They don’t seem to go together but again randomly perfect. We all got something we wanted and they were all good.
The night we went a lot were Taylor Swift inspired so the names will be different.

Food ranges from sushi grade tuna to curry style poutine fries. And why not!!!
We got tacos, pasta, and a beirock all in one place and all really good.

I got the beirock. It was excellent. The cabbage was cooked down just enough that it was like a sauce for the ground beef and the dough was yeasty and at the correct ratio to the filling.

Portions are right in the smaller range, along with the prices. So if you need two things the amount of food and price will be good.

This is going to be come a staple in our rotation of places to eat and drink because we can all get what we want in the same place.

4.6 average at time of posting seems accurate
Pretty small area so I can see it getting busy fast, but a nice very casual spot. Drink was appropriately strong with the cost and taste
Good for a small group of people

So i came around 7pm it was a nice crowd but we was seated right away. Our server was on it got us drinks and took our order fast. As my and my group waited for the food the busboys was on it cleaning tables that people left quick. When the food arrived it was good and the waiter kept our drinks topped off.

Enjoyed visiting this place, the food was good, atmosphere was good, the servers we excellent, and the prices were good.
I went with a large group, they got everything right, they have a large beer selection, I enjoyed it very much.
The Korean BBQ sandwich, was very good. Had a strong garlic/soy flavor. I did have one piece of pork that was a little gristle but other then that, it was worth a try.
My son had the cheeseburger and loved it. My other son had the kid’s pepperoni pizza, he ate the whole thing…… that does not happen normally.
Everything was great, enjoyed this place, would go again.

Lovely chill place to have an evening cocktail with your date on a Sunday. Had The Carioca cocktail, it was smooth and flavorful, the base is made with resposado tequila, chef's kiss so good!

The best old fashioned in KC! Huge bourbon list with mostly fair prices for what they are. Pappy at $75/oz was a little steep for me, but the rest was pretty fair.

This great little hole in the wall is larger than it might seem from the almost unidentifiable entrance. We went for a special evening with Max Haverfield & Friends. The cabaret style vocals were mixed with a little CW, with great backup by a string bass, wonderful piano, and percussion. Not to be missed is the wonderful cocktail service and steady attention from our server. I appreciated the diversity of the clientele and will definitely visit again.

Came in around 1 am for a finisher drink the night prior. Not only is it a block away from where I'm staying, but this bar has such a homey, small-town feel that you can't get anywhere else in town.
From my understanding it's ran by and older couple and they're the bartenders.
It's awesome to see someone take so much pride and happiness in their work.
It is a Cash Only bar; Dont let that be the reason to skip out.

What a hip place! Fantastic elevated bar food and delicious drinks. Definitely a place where you can get the perfect bite and sip. Cool ambiance and super trendy — a great place to hang out. My favourite restaurant in KC so far.

Note: Portions are small so order more!

John is the best Bartender/owner/janitor or whatever in Kansas City. Came in after the Chiefs Parade and had a delicious Moscow Mule😁 Highly recommend this cozy jazz spot! I will be back soon ❤

Love the food and atmosphere. I know they were short-staffed. So it took longer to get food. came right before the rush. It took 15 min to get my drink. It was a canned sour. My friend had a mixed drink and received hers instantly. When it came time for dessert. The server let someone at our table order, And when I tried to point to what I wanted. She grabbed the menu from me. I pulled it back twice before I just let go and said forget it. I also wanted to order another drink. But she ignored me and walked off. My daughter asked me after leaving if I knew her and had done something to her in the past for her to act like that. It was completely confusing. I'd go again but will sit at the bar.

Delightful find in the West Bottoms. Beautiful old building restored with care. Gave off very intimate French vibes. Happy hour menu and pricing even on Saturday. Pomme Alginot was fantastic! Soup of the moment was New England clam chowder, and it was the best we have ever had in any of our travels. Lovely, peaceful place to enjoy a meal. We will definitely return.

This was our first time in KC and the first place in the evening we went to check out. It didn't not let us down at all. The host at the the door was pleasant. The atmosphere was perfect for either a date or just to hang out with friends. They had more than enough options as far as cocktail to choose from as you enjoy the great music being played.

First time to Voltaire and it was great. We had 5pm reservations on a Saturday and there were only two other groups there. The bar was completely open, which is great to know for the future. However, by 5:30, the place was starting to fill up.

We visited for their 4-6pm happy hour. Great deals on drinks (loved the Paloma). However, the food specials were amazing. The $8 mussels were so good and we received quite a large bowl. The hummus plate was great. The beet and walnut hummus had so much flavor. The oysters were also good and an excellent deal for $2 an oyster.

We were pretty full after the appetizers and didn’t have a chance to try any of the entrees. We will definitely be back to try more!

Great little bar, pool table, juke box, friendly staff and the regulars there were all welcoming. I would recommend ordering the 'mini beer' shots, very nice indeed! Cash only, but they do have an ATM inside. Had a great few hours there.

Walked here after a performance at the Kauffman Center. Friday night, still had a choice of open tables. Bit of a speakeasy vibe, good for a full meal or just drinks. Intimate little space, playful and sophisticated, complete with candlelight and neat little plants. Kind and welcoming staff. The food menu is small and top-notch with unique blends of flavors. Save room for dessert! (The cheddar bread pudding with bourbon caramel was an unexpectedly perfect pairing of flavors, went nicely with some French-press Irish coffee.) Excellently crafted cocktails (classics and innovations) and generally a great selection of spirits and beers. Everything was prepared with care. Easy to spend a lot of money here, but a really nice treat.

Can't overstate how much I recommend this gem. Came for the whiskey and stayed for the good people, good vibes, staff making me feel like a local. The whiskey was no joke though. They have several single barrels that are exclusive to The Belfry, and the two I tasted were fantastic.

Every single element of their burger and fries is made in house, and they have reached perfection. Fresh, interesting flavors that harmonize flawlessly. The fries were the best I've had, crispy with pops of coarse salt. Worth the stop every time you're in town.
Went here for my birthday on Feb 5th! We had a blast, they have a special birthday gift basket that they give out. $40 gift card and a jello shooter thing and a shot glass and other things. They took me on stage and I did this cowbell thing too. 5 stars! Staff was also amazing.
What an experience! The small bachelorette group we had came to this bar and we’re almost going to leave when we heard there was a cover, but worth every single penny. The dueling pianos and musicians was the highlight of the night. I cannot wait to see them live again! What a fun night and exceptional music.

What an amazing piece of Kansas City history! First time here and I recommend anyone who chances to be near this iconic watering hole to stop in. The history is present on the photo walls, the decor, the drinks named after numerous POTUS and celebrities, you can't miss! If Jeff is working as your bartender then your in the bonus round! Dropping knowledge of drinks and history in equal measure. What a class act! Stop by, you won't regret it!

The drum room not only has a decent dinner selection of delicious food. The whisky and scotch selection is incredible! Many drink choices here. If you aren’t sure what you want or want to just try something new, then this is the place to head.

We came here with another couple and we all had an incredible dining experience! The atmosphere was very chill and they’re known for having one of the best bourbon lists in KC, along with an equally impressive cocktail and beer selection. At first, the bourbon/whiskey list can be a little overwhelming as there are so many to choose from. I wanted to try something I’ve never had so we were lucky enough to receive a few excellent recommendations from Chef Celina, who in addition to being a world class chef, just so happens to have an exquisite palate for bourbons. After we got a few cocktails going, we ordered the cauliflower and pretzels to start with. Both were very delicious and the cauliflower was cooked like none other I’ve ever tasted…so freakin’ good! I ended up ordering the cheeseburger and added an egg and bacon as well. The flavor of the burger was incredible, the fries were cooked perfectly and had a slight crunch…everything was insanely tasty! Our overall experience was amazing and we can’t wait to come back. This has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in KC!

This is a great bar to start your night if you're heading into The Midland to see a show, or exploring downtown. They have a huge and unique cocktail menu and the staff is always friendly!
Came here during the Super Bowl. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The restrooms are downstairs and really nice. We made the best decision coming in here to watch the big game. Great bar!

Tasty food and drinks. Happy hour specials. Vibe inside is great for business, date, or friends. It can get loud easily as it's small and also has a dome-shaped ceiling. Rotating door keeps the temperature neutral inside which is great as I was there last on a cold and windy night.

A dive bar. Surly service from the bartender. Prices are slightly high for a dive bar. Cash only. They do have an ATM on site. There is a pool table. Small amount of seating inside. Bathrooms stink and could use deodorizes. A decent selection of beer and mixed drinks.

If you are going to any concert that allows anyone under 21 you can go through this bar and skip the long line outside. It's just your typical bar. Beer is cold and bartenders are friendly.

Seriously fun if you're into karaoke. The atmosphere is good. Sometimes a bit loud, so maybe not a first date kind of establishment but definitely worth a visit!

Loved this little spot. Cool vibe and wood finishes. Got a large beer at a slightly cheaper price than a comparable in the area.
The bar wasn't packed so I got served and got my beer within two minutes of being in the place.

Not a bad spot, but they have no food, and generally do not support the local music scene, though they seem to have the perfect space and location for it... in the end, it is just a Bar and offers nothing more...except popcorn and generally good service.
