We drive all the way from Lawrenceville to Decatur just for Athens Pizza. There may be other Greek restaurants that offer pizza but none like this Decatur Athens. We have been going there I would say at least 25 years and it's worth the trip!
This place has amazing pizza. A bit more expensive but you get the best in the area. We have been ordering pizza here for over a decade and rarely have been disappointed, it’s just good.
If you think the fantastic quality of their pizza translates into excellent gyros or Greek food…no, just no. For the love of all that is holy stick to pizza from here. Their gyros or gyro plates are so, so sad. Ordered a gyro and a gyro plate. Gyro plate was flavorless gyro meat piled on soggy fries with two slices of bland tomatoes crying in the corner.
For gyros or genuine Greek food that is phenomenal, drive around the corner to Mediterranean Grill. Less money and absolutely incredible gyros and other food. So good.
I threw the gyro plate from Athens straight in the trash. Photo below is pre trashcan disposal.

I am so glad that we stopped by here when we were visiting family in Atlanta. We will make sure to stop by again whenever we’re back. The service was wonderful and so was the food. They have the best pizza crust I’ve ever had.
Pretty awesome Greek food + Greek fusion pizza! Loved creamy moussaka and the Santorini pizza! Tasted like a hint of Chicago deep dish with greek flavoring!
The parking lot made it look deserted but glad we stopped by! Everything was delicious. We had the gyro, chicken tenders, pizza, hummus, and baklava for dessert. Wish there were more dessert and juice options but we will return.
Absolutely dissapointed this visit again. I was made to order quickly as they were closing in 15 minutes. As a note of advice, don't rush customers who are giving you their money. This highly affected what I ordered. I still think my previous visit was worse though. That time, I was overlooked to be seated---I should have left, rather than seating myself. Feels very racially geared.
This time, a few nights ago, I was made to rush order and when I asked the man who was not being helpful towards me if he was the owner, he pridefully said "Not yet!" If he does take over your establishment, his lack of manners will yield a rapid closing. This trip I order a kid's sausage & onion pizza along with a small greek salad. My (piece of) tomato had a black mold spot, cucumbers weren't on my salad and 1 was given one olive for a whole salad. Absolutely terrible trip and I won't be back.

Very nice family type atmosphere. Original recipes. Large portions. Good food. It's not fancy, but it's tasty. Very spacious inside the restaurant. We were there for early dinner and they were doing tons of take out orders.
Excellent Greek Food Near Emory University
I recently had dinner at Athens Pizza and it was excellent. The service was very good. The house Greek salad was fresh and the house made dressing was popping with flavor. The baked spaghetti with meat sauce was full of flavor and a lot of meat in the sauce
The prices are very reasonable compared to most restaurants nearby
