Every nurse I've talked to here is useless. They tell us to call in a refill 3 days before we need it so they have time to send it in before his prescription runs out on Saturday. It literally doesn't matter at all how early we call it in. We called in for a refill on Monday. It's still not sent in by Friday at 5pm, so now we have to wait until Monday, which I guarantee will be another whole day of trying to get them to just send it to the pharmacy. It's disgraceful how little these people care. Dr. Purdy is a good doctor, but that doesn't really matter when it takes weeks to get anything done. My husband has seizures from not taking his medicine daily, and now he has to go without for 3 more days. This happens EVERY SINGLE MONTH and the only person who ever did anything to help get it handled was the receptionist when I started sobbing after being given the run around by the nurses for 3 days last month. She walked down the hall, stopped the doctor, and within 15 minutes it was sent to the pharmacy. This was after a nurse told me "I dont tell the doctor what to do" and hung up on me when I asked her to do the same. What kind of healthcare professional does that?
They lied over the phone, said they could do what they later said they can’t. I waited an hour and half. Then they tried to say they proscribed me something, they didn’t, then they charged me when they didn’t do anything. They didn’t do a single thing but charged me anyways. Wouldn’t refund it. Bunch of crooks.

Never going back there again.
Dr. Mendez and his nurse did a great job listening and helping me to recover.
I have seen Dr. Purdy for several years. He never makes me feel rushed and answers all of my questions. He truly cares about his patients.
First, Read all the reviews that your brain can take. They are still relevant to this day, from within this year to eight years ago.

And CAUTION! The receptionists, billing manager, nurses will look at you like they are listening to you. However, when I as a patient is listening to any of them and are confused why I did not follow their opinions.
They are either ignorant or delayed communication with insurance. the front staff kept repeating, "We are not allowed to say anything more" regarding billing and insurance.
They accused me of yelling in front children. 1. there were no minors present that day that cameras could show. 2. my volume raised with "i do not understand and please help me understand" with only 5 slaps on the counter and no yelling directly in front of anyone's face. It is not logical to be asked to pay over 100$ for a basic doctor visit when they were not upfront about what the doctor was trying to help with or knowing how to get answers from insurance companies. This should not be the patients fault.

The last anxiety medication the doctor prescribed was paxil which when you look on Medscape, it has adverse effects with welbutrin that I have been taking for about 7 months.

They terminated me as a patient without my knowledge, a pcp referral, nor 1 month refill of both my medications till i could get another pcp. My adhd definantly helps focus the random thought and I have no natural thyroid in my body.

Just because an office is operating legally does not make them good morally.

Luckily confronting them in person 1 more time gave the thyroid hormone; however no final refill for adhd.
Age 70. Dr. Stephen Dalton, DO, Lubbock, has excellent knowledge, not only in prescription drug remedies, but perhaps more so in what I call naturalpath (naturopath) treatment. His staff is professional, polite, easy to like. Chelation works! Epithalon I notice improvement in several youth improving appearances. I started the "Vibe" machine, body frequency care - interesting research on this technology.
I appreciated Dr Dalton really taking time to listen and explain recommendations pertinent to the diagnoses for which I was getting a second opinion. His office staff was courteous and helpful.
Terrible. Waited for hours just to get refills. Doctor wanted to take a blood test since my blood pressure readings are always unstable. Blood test was all I was all I was informed of by Dr Mendez. Turns out it was a full blown drug test urine blood. If dr Mendez would have just said drug screen I would’ve said no and say I will fail and save time and money for myself. No need for it. Instead I’m billed with 120$ and denied prescription, and half my asthma medication wasn’t even sent in. Shady, waste of half a days work, and have to pay for something I did not consent to. I consented to blood test only. Urine I should asked why but that is my fault. I was just trying to get out to get back to to work cause I thought it would be a quick visit for some asthma medication and anxiety meds. Refills. Reason why I don’t go to physicians.
Tonya and Dr. Skinner are great as for McKenzie at the front desk, she always has an attitude that is uncalled for.
Dr. Dalton is the best Doctor my family has ever had! We have been going to him for about 6 years now!
They were unprofessional and not understanding. I am new to the city and I needed take a test for flu when I walked in a was given attitude which made me feel uncomfortable and they weren’t very helpful at all. So I don’t encourage going here especially if your new to the city…
We appreciate the legitimate practices here but when you have a practitioner prescribe something unnecessary to someone of the age of 95 years old without any history of hypertension or high blood pressure, extra caution should be present... Especially when issuing a BP med that induces a dry heaving cough and depletes Zinc, a critical part of any older woman's metabolism.
nurse practitioners are a valuable part of this society but this is not proactive medicine and will be addressed again if not taken into consideration.
Literally the most unprofessional medical office I have ever called. The woman I talked to was rude and very incompetent at her job. I DO NOT recommend dealing with them. If they cannot even handle scheduling in a professional manner I would not trust them with my health.
From the front desk staff, to the nurses, to the administration, this team is solid. Dr. Skinner & Tonya provide efficient, compassionate care to every single patient. I’ve worked with a lot of doctors over the last 10+ years, and you won’t find better care than you will at High Plains.
Dr.Skinner is a wonderful physician and person. Have only had the best experiences! Would recommend to all.
LIMA saved me when my provider said there is nothing more we can do and don't come back.
From life saving IV's to an understanding what helps the body and what doesn't, my Dr. Dalton is my hero, who turned my life around and saved me. LIMA are experts in restoring all your health issues and also provides the latest proven anti-aging screening and procedures. Besides being the best by far of all the professional doctors in Lubbock, you are met every time by his gracious and professional team that provides the very best in treatment care. You are special and treated with dignity and compassion which is something that you WILL NOT get from 99% of the medical doctors in Lubbock. It is so exciting to be treated as a person and not a number. How many time have you been to your doctor who never makes eye contact, just stares at his computer, hurries you out the door along with a full staff of rude nurses and all who seem to be bother if you ask questions regarding precedures.
I've lost count of just how many rude condescending Dr. I've had to deal with in Lubbock before I found LIMA.
So yes I am so grateful that we have LIMA in Lubbock and I highly recommend them if you want top of the line medical treatment.
Thank you so much Dr. Dalton.
God bless you for providing critical and outstanding medical care.
I am very thankful for Dr Dalton and his amazing staff! I have been diagnosed with many auto immune illnesses, along with Parkinson’s, MS and Crohn’s disease. Dr Dalton has has given me more hope with the protocol that I am finally now on, and I am truly healing more and more everyday! It has been a long journey, and I know God has led me here, to Lubbock Intrgrative Medical Associates. I praise Him SOOO MUCH for that! I went and took my sister to her eye dr appt yesterday and she said,” My goodness, you are better!” I have no doubt that I am healing! In EVERY way!” I attribute it all to God first and foremost, and the fact that He has guided me here TO Dr Dalton at LIMA LUBBOCK.! Dr. Dalton truly cares ! And his staff is so supportive and helpful as well! You don’t always have to stay in a box and just go with docs that don’t believe in Gods natural healing ways. if I would have stayed in the conventional ways as I have done before , I would not be here I truly believe that ! I had been wayyy over medicated before, not getting to the root of any problem and just masking them all and getting worse everyday. I’m not trying to put all doctors down , I am sorry if it sounds that way. I realize other do think they are right as well. It was just my experience and all that I know and have been through. And they have saved my life! Dr Daltons protocol is healing me! Yes healing me ! God bless you and thank you again Lima Lubbock!
I’ve always recommended this place for all of my family and all of us have been very pleased with our experience. Front staff nice, can always get you in as a walk in with little wait, never felt rushed when in with any of the doctors, and never had a billing issue. Only issue one time was a delayed pharmacy call in. Love this place!
My experience has consisted of some pretty serious tactics by the TTU Internal Medicine Clinic, Pulmonology, that has consisted of delaying of care and denial of care. This has gone on since March 2023 and it is now November 2023. My condition is serious and I am not sure that I will even live long enough to get the help that I need. I hold this clinic partially responsible for my dilemma. If you are being billed but denied care, speak up, you are not alone. In March, my PCP sent an urgent referral for Dr. Test or Dr. Nugent, who, according to my insurance, were both accepting new patients. After calling me to schedule, I was passed around for a month, given a total of three different excuses for why Dr. Test was unavailable. When I asked about Dr. Nugent, I was again given the run around and staff scheduled me with Dr. Iwuji, who I learned was not a Pulmonologist. Prior to this appointment, I called to let the staff know that I need to see a Pulmonologist, not an internist. -I found it odd that they were trying to avoid honoring this referral. Instead of just doing the right thing and scheduling me in with the specialist, the director called and left a vague voicemail. I called back and did not get a return call for three weeks, after calling several times. Mrs. Plumley was very short with me and in proceeded to avoid scheduling me. I had to go so far as to have my insurance call the clinic. After this, within a week, I had an appointment for two months down the line. Then, they canceled a week prior to the visit. Their actions alone delayed my care by five months. Dr. Nugent was just as bad during the first visit. My pulmonary function test with my PCP was showing I had 15% lung function. He shrugged it off. I had to call back up there to demand he order a proper lung function test. He ordered labs and nobody did labs while I was there and nobody told me where to go to get labs done. The same was true for x-ray three months later and nobody called me to let me know of the pulmonary function test. If I hadn't been on the patient portal, I would have never known. The pulmonary function test did in fact show severe obstruction.
Dr. Nugent falsified records and took my words out of context. Reading the notes looked more like slander session than an actual medical record. This is linked to my having sepsis in UMC in 2021-2022 and never being told.
I am recording this for obvious reasons here and taking other action. I hope others seeing this who may be experiencing similar issues will know they are not alone and take action.
I don't think I am the only one they are doing this too and there was a lot more that happened but I don't have room here to enter all of the details. This is borderline criminal.

Customer service is outstanding! Everyone is so friendly and always eager to help. From the moment I walk in, only 5 seconds goes by before someone asks what I need. This facility clearly cares for their veterans!
Love love love this place!! Dr Tanya has helped me lose (so far)... 7.4 lbs in one month (my first month) and I'm feeling great. This is all I've really wanted during my weight loss journey. It was just a little difficult doing it on my own. I felt like I had hit a plateau. But seeing Dr Tanya has really helped me. Kimberly her medical assistant was great during my last appointment. She was welcoming and very friendly. I just feel like the ladies at the front desk could use a little umph ... every time I go in there and I check in with them I feel like I'm talking to robots. I don't know it might just be me, but I've been going to this place since September and I feel the same way every time I leave. But I really do appreciate Dr. Tanya for everything she has helped me with. She as well is so extremely friendly.... Thank you to everyone at this location for helping me just feel better about myself.

Please know I go to this location for weight management only.

The sheer dumbassery is unbelievable. They scheduled an 0800 appointment, then allowed no one in the clinic until 0801! Then the check-in clerk asks why you are late to check in for your appointment! They take government idiocy to new levels!

Also almost impossible to get anyone to answer a phone, or an appointment.
I really hate going to a new doctor but Dr Dalton and his staff made the experience more pleasant. Friendly and efficient staff. The doctor is knowledgeable and takes time to explain everything clearly. He doesn’t push pills and tests. And he puts the decision in your hands to do as you are comfortable. Good experience!
Loved the nurses and resident but I waited for an hour and a half, and for me with a child waiting for me get out, it was entirely too long.
I’ve known Dr Skinner and staff for a long time even visiting from Colorado he was able to fit me in when I hurt my ankle and knee just after surgery I was in and out so fast even had an x-ray. He’s always been great Dr to work for and see as a patient! I can call him and he will see and help my family members when needed.
Just to schedule an appointment with an pulmonologist take 5months waiting time. 6 weeks for the nurse to call you to set an appointment.
Dr. Dalton and his team at LIMA are amazing. I highly recommend his office. I have been a patient for about five months and have lost over 10 lbs with the Skinny Shot!
Long waits for appointments to be scheduled or referrals to be made. When you arrive for an appointment the doctors almost always make you wait a while and then rush you through your appointment.

Anyone who believes in government healthcare should be required to be a patient here to dissuade you of that notion.
Great people that actually care do everything they can to make sure you understand and do what's right
Lubbock integrative medicine, has been a life saver! I had extreme pain in my knees. After receiving treatment injections my pain went from a 10 being the worse to 2, I’m able to do normal everyday activities. Thanks nurse practitioner, Lauriana, Dr. Steve, and the amazing staff! Highly recommended.
Drawing blood Thursday she shoved that needle in , she hit a nerve or tendin. I literally almost threw up from the pain. Pain has gotten worse every day. They told me to go in so they could look at it today. The person who drew the blood threw the sign in sheet at me today. Next the nurse had an attitude with me like I was faking the pain. They actually wanted me to pay for driving from out of town to see why their mistake has been causing so much pain getting worse everyday! Do not go here! Most unprofessional health place I have ever been. This place used to be a great place with the old staff

I have been going to the VA Clinic for over 20 years and I have always received great care. They are truly a blessing and they go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of as well as treated with respect and dignity. I am proud to have served my Country and am very blessed that my Country now takes care of all my medical needs.
I love the new facility. I have never had any issues with my care here. Every person or doctor I have interacted with has been kind and helpful. Sometimes appointments take longer to get into than I would like, but it hasn’t been a massive or consistent issue.

Overall, I have received great care. I’m thankful for the resources and support they provided me with.
I've seen Dr.Joshua hill for a while till he transferred here and he's always top-notch on taking care of not only my well-being but my mother and grandfather. He knows what he is doing and is patient with you if you don't understand certain medical term. He will break it down for you to understand. He's perfect for young adults and adults.
I saw Dr. Joshua Hill twice and was scheduled for a third visit because of high blood pressure readings at home. Nurse had advised monitoring until I could get in to see Dr. Hill though my current readings were 175/80's. That was scheduled for a week later. During the monitoring my BP ranged around 170/60's to 208/101 and did not receive a call from the nurse during that time to check on my monitoring. I kept my appointment and then waited and began to notice though the waiting room was nearly empty, other patients came after me and were called before me. After almost 2 hours, I left and looked for another Doctor
for my care. Though the Nurse and Doctor were both personable at first, it is apparent they were not even the slightest concerned about my care. I'm 78 and need a Doctor who is genuinely concerned about my well being. I gave one star for the initial visit only for the Doctor and Nurse. After that, the lack of concern changed and the empty stars are for the Doctor, Nurse and staff. I do not recommend.
Come see Jim Rosson, He is amazing! I came in for a ear ache and he treated me for a horrible sinus infection! The best staff, always smiling and the wait was not bad at all seeing as they had tons of school physicals going on at the same time! Dr Chavez is amazing as well helping lots of immigration patients out with all of their needs!
Used to be a wonderful place with a husband and wife team. Fast, affordable and knowledgeable.

It's been a couple of years since I've been there. Called today, speaking to a new nurse on staff was difficult. Used to I'd get right in and out. That's not the case anymore. First off is a 45min to 1 hour wait time.

New staff, new doctors ruined this place. I won't be back after being a customer for over 5 years.

*edit*yeah they are still terrible.

Awful. All the worst parts of army medicine can be found alive and well here.

*update* - Tried using them multiple times over the last few months for several service connected conditions. They have been an abject failure at best and active antagonists at worst. On all benchmarks.
Use them at your own risk. If you must- always remember that the staff are members of a medical network that does not have to see patients to continue to receive a check.

They serve the institution, not the patient. I’ve gone back to paying out of pocket for community care. They’re that bad.

I have been a patient under Doctor Skinner for about 10 years.

Doctor Skinner is the best doctor that I have ever had or met. Very caring and responsive to your needs. Doctor Skinner’s staff are friendly, helpful and they go out of their way to help you.

Doctor Skinner has great care of my son from age 10 to now 18. My son absolutely loves Doctor Skinner.

I can not say enough to describe the medical security I have with High Plains Primary Care.
***Edit after just over a year of using the facility***

Had a simple dental hygienist appointment at 0900hrs on march 31,2023. Checked in early as usual, but they were apparently running a little behind. So at 15 minutes past my appointment I asked if they could reschedule due to time constraints. The guy said no problem and asked if I wanted the same time. Fast forward to trying to submit for travel pay and they had marked me as a “no show”. It might seem trivial, but if they’ll lie about something so simple as that what else will they lie about? I will not use their dental clinic anymore due to a lack of integrity on their behalf. The sad thing is that I truly didn’t care that they were running behind, I just couldn’t hang around on that particular day.

My primary care provider being top notch is the only reason they still get three stars.

New to the area and so far my dealings with the dental department have been good. They referred me out to have a root canal checked. That process was easy peasy, they asked what days and times would be best before they even made the referral. Communication has been great and so far everyone I’ve interacted with has been friendly and professional. Will be seeing my primary care provider later this month and if they’re like the dental department it’ll be great.
So it was brought to my attention that I had left a bad review. I think someone had done it without my consent or knowledge... Crazy ex. I love this place! Hence me returning several times even though I have insurance. The nurses and doctors are very attentive and look into all my history deeply. I have always left knowing that I'll get better.

2019, I have always had a good to exceptional service at this location, and my next appointment is at the new building in June. I have gone in as a walk-in and scheduled appointments. It has always been a good experience. Thank you all.
I was a transfer from the Albuquerque VA system since I moved closer to Amarillo. 2023, My experience has been given the best eye and foot doctors in the business, in my opinion. Next, visit a CT scan in April.
Only place to get an allergie shot that actually helps vs all the other crooks in town

If you are lucky enough, you will get on Team Delta and have DR YIN as your pcp. In all my time in the VA, I have NEVER had an MD listen to me, nor have I ever heard one say "you know you better than I do". I hope she stays on until retirement. And calling after hours to give lab results and consultation l, who does that anymore? DR YIN OF TEAM DELTA THATS WHO!!

THANK YOU DR YIN!!

Went in today for patient advocacy and as I walked by the law enforcement office NIETHER officer in that office were wearing masks. These are the same people that will force you to wear one. As retired military police I always believed in being the example and not the excuse. Live the laws you are sworn to enforce. These two obviously do not share those values. As the entire clinic is a mask zone, how do you spell hypocrisy?
First, the receptionist Drew is amazing, so kind, open, and a winning personality! (I just spoke with her this morning! Great way to start the day!!)

Secondly, Dr. Skinner is the best PCP I've ever had; he's accomplished, kind, listens, and is so willing to help. I suffer from CPTSD, and he completely took that into consideration when I first moved here to Lubbock a little over a year ago. Dr. Skinner, please don't ever move; you're so wonderful, and so is your staff.

What a lucky find!!! I'm very impressed with High Plains Primary Care.
First time here wonderful staff and Nurse practitioner was awesome!! She was listening to my issues Ive been having all month long with my sickness and helped me get some much better Will be returning as a patient again. ❤ They do however don't except insurance but other than that Im satisfied with the care I was received.
I have been here several times. Never had an issue. The staff have all been very friendly, from the front desk to the nurse. Roxanne Chavez actually listens and genuinely cares about her patients. She took the time needed to get to know my issue and concerns, instead of just throwing a prescription at me and seeing me out the door.
DO NOT COME TO THIS CLINIC!!! I only gave one star because I had to in order to give a review. The woman at the front desk(she says her name is Amber)is the rudest, laziest, and non-customer service oriented person you could ever meet. My son went there to be seen today. We have full coverage insurance through BCBS. She told him he couldn't be seen by the Doctor because the insurance company was closed and she wouldn't be able to verify insurance. Then she told him he could pay $85 to be seen and have a prescription written. She also stated she wouldn't get paid if she didn't verify his insurance. My son called me, and I spoke to this woman who was rude to me as well. I told her that insurance companies have automated verification systems and she could verify his insurance. She refused to do that, and then stated the Doctor has a rule that he will not see patients unless they pay the fee or she verifies their insurance. Once again, I reiterated he had insurance and she wouldn't even provide her email address to have the insurance card emailed to her that was on his phone. I was flabbergasted the Doctor's office would turn someone away that was sick, and clearly had insurance because this Amber woman was too lazy to do her job. My son also told me she checked-in everyone else that walked in the clinic that was the same ethnicity as she was without given the the same line of BS. Nevertheless, after looking this place up online, it was for the best she denied him being seen by a Doctor because this place is so run down. I wouldn't even take my daughter's pet hamster, fish, dog or cat here. I was able to make him an online appointment to be seen at Covenant Health Medical Group where the staff was so pleasant and helpful even with me being on the phone in another city. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time trying to be seen at this clinic.
I wouldn’t even give this place one star. They take people who come in after you as well as make you wait for an hour to two hours even when there is no one in the clinic. The service as well as hospitality is awful. To anyone reading this do not go to this clinic.
Wow, this was a great experience! Every staff member was happy and accommodating. The rooms and equipment we're very clean. Dr. Rahmen was very thorough in my diagnosis, and he treated me like a friend rather than a specimen. I'm looking forward to my follow up!
I've been seeing Doctor Chavez and his wife since I was a toddler, and I hate going to see anyone else. Yeah sometimes it takes some time to be seen, but obviously it's because they are assisting other patients with care. I sure would hate it if they rushed my visit just to quickly file on to the next patient. Their receptionists and nurses are super friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend if you appreciate CARING Health Professionals.

Great service
