The way this place operates is ridiculous. My elderly mother has to constantly call and remind them to push paperwork through that should have been handled weeks prior. I am switching her to another practice. Don’t waste your time, energy, or money here.

My experience with Dr. Vargas' medical care team at Prime Medical was horrible. Initially, my concerns were addressed with care, but when I needed follow-up assistance, I was left feeling completely neglected and unheard. Despite several assurances, calls regarding my recurring illness were met with the run-around that ended with my medical issue being UNRESOLVED and UNADDRESSED. The lack of communication and care was unacceptable. I even sent a lengthy and detailed complaint to which I never received a response, follow-up call or an apology. No one should endure such poor treatment. I will definitely be escalating my complaint through the proper channels. I’d give them 0 stars if I could.

I really appreciate the two different locations and can do labs x-rays etc all in one place

Unfortunately the 10 months I’ve been under the care of the team here has been very frustrating. In my primary care visit the doctor was dismissive of most of my health concerns (normal stuff - chronic migraines, back issues, etc) and did not provide referrals. I’ve since had to request multiple follow up appointments to request additional care/referrals as the issues did not magically go away like she seemed to think they would. It feels like a tactic to be able to bill more visits to my insurance.
I feel old I’m trapped on a treadmill trying to get care for fairly straightforward issues.

I’ve been with Dr Shah and her team for several years. She’s smart, thorough , and responsive — and always on top of my meds and whatever tests that are due. Her staff is courteous and professional.

Avoid at all costs. When I would meet with my psychologist I felt worse at the end of the session than I did when I first walked in. The group therapy was ok but the breathing exercises and "grounding" doesn't help my suicidal thoughts. They prefer to pill you up. The pills I received there landed me in the emergency room for lithium toxicity and I was in a car accident too from being under the influence from other medication.
They made be book smart on mental health but have no clue as to what people like me feel. Add to that the constant cancellations of group and therapy sessions.

I've been taking my mother to Prime Medical for all her routine care for years. They are great! They handle everything on site. The whole staff is polite, professional and compassionate. Highly recommended.

I got here & there was only 1 person waiting..then they went in & sat alone for around 10-15 min...then 1 person comes in & checks in..& she get's called in before me..then another person checks in & she gets called in before me..so I ask how much longer, since another person had checked in after these 2 people & asks how long the wait & she says ~35 min...so she tells that lady 35 min. when I had to wait over an hour to be seen & I got there b4 all of them when it was basically empty! I ask the nurse if some get priority or have appointments & she says no, it's by the check in time...so basically I got there b4 these people but I have to wait longer than them..all 4 nothing because all the doc does is prescribe motrin & doesn't recommend the x-rays that I wanted...such a waste of time & I wouldn't have cared as much if they hadn't taken 2 people in before me...then I check my report & it said I checked in at 11am but in reality I was there at 10:46! i guess the reception person 4 got I was sitting there.. maybe that's why I got screwed??!... wasted an hour & a half while the others only had to wait 15 or 20 minutes to be seen.. be sure to say something if they 'forget' about you! never again

Got COVID and waited more than 3 hours to see a doctor for some meds only for them to tell me, naw, I’m good. Just drink some fluids and get a lot of rest. I would have gotten a lot more rest if I hadn’t spent all that time waiting for them to see me…

There was no doctor present on my first visit. I rescheduled, and the doctor was only available by iPhone video. He instructed the nurse to give me a shot of steroid, and another drug, but they were out of stock. During the chat, the phone kept on getting interrupted by text messages and phone calls. On my third visit (requested for follow-up), the doctor was present, but he was 30 minutes late because he was filming a promo for the local news.

Went in with the idea i possibly had food poisoning, i had been suffering the past week with a high temp and diarrhea, i showed up they got me in super fast, but also push me out super fast, instantly told me my temp is normal, my temp as soon as i got home my temp was 102.5 and i could feel it on my forehead. They told me wasn’t that and just prescribes me for nausea meds and diarrhea meds, which i had zero issues with any nausea the whole time i was sick, only side affects i had were head ache, the temp, and diarrhea. which the diarrhea at this point had also slowed down. just seemed like a fast almost base less claim to get patients out

I was treated for both really super blocked with wax eardrums! I'd let it go for a long time! They saw me right away. And the Doctor 😷 was super through! He checked me first and then checked me last! They rinsed all my ear wax out excellent! Go.

Really good medical services

I usually never write reviews , but the customer service with the staff here are terrible . Every time I call they have attitudes and always give wrong information. They lied about having my medication refilled and on top of that said my Dr needed to see me for a physical , so i told her to schedule me an apt because i can not go with out my medication . When I finally go the rep says I was not due for a physical , and they have to reschedule me .Obviously ,I had to fast all day thinking I would have my blood work done , just for them to say they can’t see me . My Dr. is amazing , but her staff makes it not even worth it .

If you truly need help do not use their services. If you are somebody that just wants to talk to someone once a month or every 2 months, then they're perfect. Not consistent at all. The only solution my therapist suggest is breathing techniques which do not help me at all. I have panic attacks and have other buried issues that need to be resolved. In the beginning I thought they were all right but once I became a patient, my appointments kept getting rescheduled and they are so far apart from each other it doesn't help me at all. I'd rather find someone and pay them out of pocket to talk to them weekly or however often I want rather than to wait for San Pedro Mental Health Services to help me whenever they feel like it. The lowest review you can give is one star and I wish I can give them zero.

Update: Erica was actually a good Listener and talking to her did help me release some bottled up feelings that I didn't know I had. I'm only apologetic about not putting this in the review I did over a year ago. Other than that, the rest of my review Remains the same.

This place is a total rip off. Avoid at all costs. Charged me $800+ for 20min visit when all I was looking for was a quick referral to see a specialist. When I called asking for an explanation, the front desk operators were rude and extremely unhelpful, saying “no one is here that can help you, they left the office already”

On top of that, their Covid protocols are unsafe. Someone looking for a test came inside the wait room coughing before being redirected to line up outside.

Caution: they will try to funnel you to the hospital next door to see their specialist.

If it was possible to give them negative stars I would. It is impossible to get them on the phone to even schedule an appointment!!! My family has been unable to see doctors for over a year now. All they need to do is simply fax paperwork over to an OBGYN and they can’t accomplish that. And if you want to switch your pcm you have to write a letter to the CO of the base?!? Hahaha pathetic, can’t wait to PCS and never deal with this garbage clinic again.

I went there a while back. For dealing with issues. It was after my first time being homeless. And when my dad died I broke down. So they helped me a lot. I hope to go back again. When I come back. I got a lot on my plate and I hope they can help me again and I will talk more this time around. I tried committing sucicide 12 to 13 times in the last few years. Even more after standing rock. I got poisoned as well so I hope they can help me find some ways to cope. There good people that work there. So yeah this a good place. I've been through a lot. I almost froze to death and made it though. So these people like Dr Perry can help. If he's still working there. I know he be happy that I helped save 3 million bees. I saw standing rock but I was hurting from being homeless again. So now I write about it and do poetry. I got honored buy the standing rock Sioux tribe. With a dream catcher. I was hurting even more after that. So if you've got things to talk about they can help.

I visited here for talk therapy needs some time ago. I appreciate the kind mannerisms of the supervisors and for assisting me with things I needed.

I get my meds from the med doctor and speak to a psychologist bi-weekly to help ease anxiety and depression.

Dr. Hardeman is always wonderful. Small but visits are always good.

Walked in with a growing infection from a cat bite. Was seen within 15-20 minutes. Prescriptions for antibiotics were called in and were available immediately. The doctors who saw me for follow up were all in touch over the progress of my case. Wait times will vary but in my experience this seems to come as a result of taking time with each patient according to need. Got better care here than at my regular doctor. Seems to me if your experiencing a life or death situation, go to Emergency, otherwise this place provides excellent care.

Over the year I have been here multiple times. Yes sometimes the wait is long. There are not just people in the waiting room....part of it is also people in the rooms either waiting for the doctor or being helped by the doctor. My experience in this urgent care has always been a good result considering I am going here because of bad events. I changed my primary care doctor to this place because of my first two visits to the urgent care because of the level of service.

Wish it did not take so long but over the last 10+ years I have gone different hospitals all over LA and OC.....they all take long.

First and last time I come here. Came on a Sunday. When I walked into the small waiting room the receptionist didn't even acknowledged me. No greeting, no hello how are you, nothing. Then took 3 1/2 hours to be seen by someone. My poor daughter had a horrible ear infection and was screaming the whole time. Will not be coming back here.
