Wonderful zoo! Exhibits were nicely set up and felt like you could really see animals up close. Good food, beer available for beer lovers, not too big but all the animals that you would want to see!
My son got awarded a free family pass from his school. The family and I went and had a really good time. The Zoo has always been a great adventure with a fun friendly environment for the family to enjoy. Would definitely recommend and we will be back again for another adventure.
We recently had the pleasure of visiting Sedgwick County Zoo and it was an extraordinary experience. The zoo's extensive collection of animals and well-designed exhibits made for an enjoyable and educational visit. Spending a couple of hours there wasn't nearly enough to fully appreciate everything the zoo has to offer.
The giraffe exhibit was absolutely captivating, offering a close-up encounter with these graceful creatures. The expansive space and the opportunity to observe the giraffes up close made it a memorable experience.
The exhibit featuring zebras was a true delight. The well-designed habitat and the chance to observe these majestic animals in a naturalistic setting left a lasting impression.

My first time here, definitely will return again. Several animals were inside due to light rain and cooler day. All in all great experience!
We went on a cloudy, cool Saturday in February, and the zoo was totally empty. The animals were out and about, so we had a fantastic experience! The exhibits are well laid out and the zoo is very walkable, even for little legs. Can't wait to visit again when it's warm and try the train and the river boat.
The zoo itself is a great place to go walk on the weekends or evening, but the light shows and different themes are spectacular experiences between Halloween and Christmas.
This even will always trump the normal days at the zoo. Maybe justas majestic as seeing the animals in the sping when the garden blooms. It's a friendly event during the holidays, especially for special family visits. The tickets are affordable on any budget, and don't forget the proceeds are going to the care of the animals.

We went for the Christmas night light event. It was magical and so much fun. It sent you on a walk through the park as you followed the story of Alice in wonderland. The lights the displays were great bring your family for a fun night and it’s reasonably priced.
It is a neat display. With a lot more out there than we thought would be. All the exhibits are closed. But the giraffes were still out and the little one was running around. Took us about an hour to walk thru and look at everything. There are some really big displays that pictures don't show. Some of them are moving. Others blow smoke or bubbles. We had a great time and the weather was perfect.
The lights are amazing. It’s the perfect time to go. It’s not too cold or warm. I was impressed by the amount of lights they had out.

Although I live here with my mother and sisters, I must rave about how amazing it is here. As I buzz around, collecting pollen and nectar from the local fauna, I see the smiles and joy emitted from the humans that roam from exhibit to exhibit. I love this place not only because I call it home, but the humans are friendly, and rarely swat at me or show fear. Well...sometimes the kids do, but if their parents take 30 seconds to educate themselves on bees versus wasps, and share how harmless my sisters and I are, the kids quickly let their fear fade away.
Anyway, this is such an amazing place, and well kept! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

One of the best in the country! Great place to spend a day with family and/or friends. Would definitely go when the weather is nice so all of the animals are out. If you really take everything in, will take a better part of the day. Always updating the facility and is very well managed. Greay to have this attraction in our hometown... something to be very proud of. Enjoy!
This is an awesome zoo. I have been able to visit this zoo several times in the past 25 years despite the fact I didn't live here. We recently moved here and I look forward to coming more often.
The only complaint I have is the fact I am disabled and paid more for the scooter I needed to get around than my ticket to get in. I couldn't believe it! Why are those who are handicapped being punished to see the zoo. Because of this fact, I won't be able to come often. I can understand a fee, but charging more than an entrance ticket, really? I just don't understand. I even asked if I was a member was the scooter complimentary and was told no. I am very sadden by this.

Beautiful day for the zoo. Recommend going soon as they open, before the heat of the sun is the hottest. We clocked over 10,000 steps and still didn't see everything. Very clean and maintained with such pride.
The exhibit is amazing and the Elephants are even more!!!
The people were awesome we came and watched them them feed the animals. They were all nice and knew what they were talking about. Really liked the animals as well. and engaged the kids which was awesome. Spent probably an hour and it was free. I highly recommend.
This was such a wholesome adventure for the entire family. The staff was very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals. They were also friendly and inviting. The kiddos were able to experience the animals first hand and learned a some fun facts.
Smallest zoo I've ever seen but we'll worth touring. I had perfect timing as they were teaching us about the animals while feeding them. If you come around 12 pm they feed the animals and teach at the same time, plus it's all free!

You have to purchase a ticket to get into the zoo to be able to see this attraction. I recommend buying a membership if you plan on going often
An out of town visitor, I was able to visit the zoo again for the first time in about ten years. I was very impressed by the new exhibits, especially the Asian Big Cat Trek. The Gorilla Forest was always my favorite exhibit but now it’s even more so as all the trees have matured with the natural canopy offering shade. All of the employees I encountered were very friendly and helpful. I only was able to spend a few hours but easily could have visited all day. There’s a lot of walking but with an adventure this size, nothing wrong with that! I cannot wait until I can visit again, hopefully sooner than another ten years. Baby elephants in the future might make that hard to resist!
Absolutely love the new outlook of Sedgwick County zoo!! My most favorite is the tiger exhibit and elephant exhibit. :)
The boat ride was very informative but very short. The train ride was nice, except the conductor was bit grouchy.
This is a very nice zoo, animals look happy! Will come back for sure!
In the last few years they've done an excellent job in several areas, making the zoo even more awesome. The tropical building and the whole zoo is much more wheelchair accessible and generally more accessible overall throughout. The exhibits look great (though there's a lot of construction and maintenance right now. We love that there is wheelchair rentals and online tickets to make getting in easier.

All the elephants were outside. They are graceful, beautiful, gentle animals. I greatly appreciate that the Wichita Zoo has a large area for our elephants. But I still struggle with them being in captivity.
This is such a cute gem in Witcha! It is super small, so I recommend going during the feeding time (12:00) to get the most value for your time. This is the only time the inside exhibits are open, and you’ll get the most animal action.
Tod was super nice and informed me that all the animals here are rescues and the city funds it!
While you’ll only spend 5-10 minutes here (maybe 15-20 if you go during feeding time), I definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area.

Have been to this zoo several times and each time there's been a new attraction the newest one I got to see was mantaray cove you can feed and pet the manta rays it was really cool to do.
We found this kind of by accident. My mom and I took my five nieces. We were looking at the animals and the zookeeper there welcomed us into the visitors center. He answered all my nieces' questions and even brought a few animals out for them to interact with. I recommend this for just a small little stop to see some animals. They recommend to visit at noon when it's feeding time. The afternoons are a little bit slower because the animals usually nap. However, we went at nap time and it still was a great experience! There is also a park nearby so kids can also play after they see the animals.
Wonderful place for people of all ages. They have many species native to Kansas. The staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. Be sure to go right before noon as the staff is there to feed the Bobcat and other animals at noon..this is your best chance of seeing the animals out and about.
We visited #kansaswildlifeexhibit on New Years Day and we happened to run into Todd at feeding time. The animals were all well taken care of and fed fresh meat, vegetables, and water despite the cold weather. Todd was a great guide and we really enjoyed our visit. Definitely one of the highlights of Wichita. He also put together an indoor exhibit with a lot of interesting animals. Todd really brought life to this place compared to when we first visited five years ago.
I was sad that I didn't get a picture of the bobcat before he went into his cave, but he was gorgeous. And we got to see the red-shouldered hawk close up because his handler was taking him for a walk. And we were able to get stories of some of the critters from the lady while she was feeding and cleaning. You can tell they love the animals and put their hearts into the work.
