This school has been an incredible experience for my child! We have one child who has been enrolled for 3 years now and one child who will start this Fall. The education is incredible and is based on a Charlotte Mason classical model. My child is learning about so many classic books, learning to love God’s word, use foundational concepts to build up to the next level of learning, to do all things with excellence and careful consideration, and thinking logically. The staff cares deeply about my child, both her learning and her heart. They are well trained and versed in classical education. The community is very welcoming and there are numerous ways to get involved. It has been easy to get to know other parents just by serving alongside of them at school events, etc. Overall, such a positive experience and happy to invest our time and money here!

We have two children at Clapham and our third child will enroll next year. We tried other educational environments before coming to Clapham. We have now been a part of the Clapham community for four years and have been very pleased with our experience. We find much continuity between the Christian classical education that Clapham provides and the kind of learning and formation we foster at home. Indeed, this is our favorite part of Clapham: the meaningful partnership we have with administration, faculty, and other families. Together, we are cultivating our children’s love of all that is good, beautiful, and true. We see so much excellence at Clapham, including leadership, curriculum, faculty, community, resources, generous financial aid for those in need, extracurriculars, character formation, a joyful and diligent learning environment, community service, and thoughtful scheduling. We encourage you to visit and see this distinctive school for yourself!

Yes, very bad

Our children began their journey at WMS at the height of the pandemic. We did not intend to keep them there long term, but absolutely fell in love with the school, the teachers and the method. This past summer we relocated so that we could continue to send our children there. It has become so much more than school to us- it is a community and a family. Both our 5 and 7 year old thrive in the Montessori environment and look forward to school every day. Whether it is the thrill of a new lesson, or the pride in helping another child after they have mastered one, there is genuine excitement and appreciation for what they are learning. They are supported both academically and emotionally every step of the way. WMS is truly one of a kind.

Excellent school! I have two sons that attended WMS. This school is an exceptional place where kids learn to be independent thinkers and love learning. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a high quality education for their children that also incorporates learning to appreciate others for their uniqueness. My older son attended WMS through Jr. High and is currently a straight A high school student taking honors and AP classes. My younger son still attends WMS and consistently tests well above his grade level. However, what really makes me proud is how my children have learned to be independent, caring, and thoughtful individuals. And I know that WMS has had a hand in that.

Our 2 and a half year old daughter attends Wheaton Montessori. She is thriving in her primary classroom! She's learning practical skills, is becoming more independent by the day, enjoys spending time with children of different ages in her classroom, and loves all of the time in the fresh air. As a parent, I love the world view she's getting, learning courtesy, and becoming a lovely kind human. Everyone (administration, teachers, assistants, and families) in this community is really special and we feel lucky to have found Sophie's educational home in WMS.

Wheaton Montessori is the absolute best. The teachers are so knowledgeable and caring. It’s a peaceful, loving, welcoming & inclusive environment. If you have an doubts or questions their entire staff is helpful and understanding. They are patient and enthusiastic in explaining all that the Montessori method & Dr Maria Montessori’s Theories have to offer your children.

Our children thrive at Wheaton Montessori school because they are taught to love learning. Their interests drive their work focus. Spending three years with each teacher allows them to build a bond and understand each other to help strengthen weaknesses and emphasize strengths. The multi-age classroom fosters each child's ability to ask for help and give help. Our children are excited to go to school every day. We have been at WMS for 8 years and couldn't ask for more!

I am the father of a 6 and 4-year-old who attend Wheaton Montessori.
Wheaton Montessori has had an enriching effect on the greater whole of our home life. The way in which Wheaton Montessori holds the child during the portion of the week they attend school is of immense benefit through the emotional, social, cognitive, motor/physical, and practical domains of development. As opposed to the traditional structures of learning and education within many school systems, the Montessori method allows my children to learn about the ways they learn; to identify means and pathways of approaching their interests; to learn about how to structure their learning; and so much more. I believe this will foster their ability to engage in interest/subject specific ways that are best for them. I trust it will also allow them to remain open to learning throughout their life.
We look forward to our days ahead and take comfort in Wheaton Montessori as our children's educational path.

Wheaton Montessori School is outstanding! We have moved within the midwest and no Montessori school has compared to the quality of WMS. I had two children attend this school. Friends were blown away by the beautiful cursive writing of our 4 year old. There is no heavy reliance on iPads and this brought me such joy! The children learn concepts in meaningful and comprehensive ways rather than simply rote memorization, iPad apps or worksheets. I especially love the way the teachers break down math, reading and writing. The physical environment is a delight with big, bright windows and high quality materials. I also loved that my children were consistently able to go outside to play, regardless of the weather--they learned how to bundle up on their own and outside time is essential for child development. The teachers, such as Ms. Chiste, have been there for many years and love the children as their own. If anyone lives in the area I cannot recommend this school enough. --past Montessori parent

My children ages 3 and 4 absolutely love this school. They have thrived in every aspect and are bringing their skills home. They tell me how much they love their teachers and how they “take such great care of them”. They show them grace and common courtesy. I see how happy they are. We are not just another family in the school. You become part of their family and community. I feel the same about the few parents I’ve met at the school. Just a wonderful group a people raising a wonderful group of little people.

This has been our school for the last 10 years. We have tried another private school for a brief time but returned because we love the Christian Classical curriculum at Clapham. We love the depth of the subject matter, the good books used as texts, the order and the beautiful habits that Clapham teaches. Our children have made lasting friendships and the parent community has offered us the greatest support through everything life has thrown at us. If you value a rigorous education focussed on advanced math, cursive writing, spelling, reciting beautiful poems and text, studying artists and composers, learning classical languages like Greek and Latin, all taught by highly qualified staff, then this is a school worth looking into.

We moved our two elementary-aged children to Clapham one year ago and have not looked back since. We were initially drawn to it by word of mouth, but after visiting several classrooms for ourselves, we were sold!
Clapham fosters an environment where children “learn to think”, through a Christian classical liberal arts curriculum, taught by exceptional teachers (many of whom hold Masters degrees).
Throughout this past year, we have been struck by how well each teacher gets to know and understand the children on an individual basis. The learning material is presented in the form of good literature books, original poems, interesting field trips (such as to the Art Institute downtown), and advanced math—to name just a few. The world-class material our children are being exposed to has excited them in the joy of learning.
Children are encouraged to interpret what they read/see/hear from their perspective. Further, we really appreciate the high expectations set by the teachers and staff alike. They treat each child as a person, not someone who needs to be “talked down to” or have information “dumbed down to their level”. Our children have grown in their confidence since attending Clapham. Even in seemingly small things, such as shaking hands with an adult while looking them in the eye or answering questions in front of class.
We highly recommend Clapham. We encourage you to visit the classrooms because it is important to see first-hand the incredible learning environment Clapham provides.

We have been a part of Clapham School for 5 years and currently have 5 children enrolled, ages 5-10. There are so many outstanding features of being part of a private, classical, Christian community like Clapham. The teachers are committed, qualified, and in tune with our kids' needs and personalities. We love the emphasis on caring for the whole child, including physical, academic, and spiritual. These priorities are more than stated goals--they are truly present and actively pursued by the entire staff. The curriculum is rich and engaging and centered on outstanding literature that challenges and inspires. We highly recommend Clapham and encourage a class visit to anyone interested in learning more!

You truly need to come visit to experience the unique education provided here. Clapham School has been a haven of educational excellence where it is exciting to see students love learning and take joy in the relationships around them. Students learn the beauty of subjects in-depth from the intricate reasons behind mathematical concepts to discussing deep living ideas in literature, history, and science. The Classical tradition is known for its rigor and Clapham also adds a deep emphasis on discipling students in love for one another, teachers, and the subjects with which they interact daily. I have experienced the holistic education in-depth as students are called to do their best work always and do all to the glory of God!

Our family feels SO blessed to have been led to this incredible private Classical Christian School in Wheaton. We moved from Dallas and chose to live in this area BECAUSE of this school....And in the last four years, we have watched our children flourish in the rigorous academic environment (advanced math, rich liberal arts, cursive handwriting, and proficiency in spelling--neither of which is offered now in public schools), but we have LOVED watching their relationship with Jesus grow as they are shepherded spiritually by our amazing Christian faculty and staff. Established in 2005, Clapham offers PreK-12th grade, and is growing each and every year. I would encourage you to visit this precious school...come for a class visit and see first-hand how Clapham is truly in a class of it's own.
