Wow! I enjoyed the chapel and the history around the place. Please be aware that prepaid tickets join the same line as those who still need to purchase a ticket. Don’t worry, it moves quickly (2 minutes and I was in the door).

I have been to the Royal Chapel three times and each time the experience has been special and spectacular. To see the see the tomb of the Catholic Kings (Isabel y Fernando) was fantastic. No video or photos are allowed therefore, I have none to upload..

What is it about our fascination with walking through tombs of deceased persons not related to us and even paying for the opportunity? As tombs go, the Royal Chapel of Granada was definitely above average and perhaps even impressive. The remains of the Spanish Catholic Monarchs are housed therein. Since the King and Queen were clearly involved in the planning prior to death, it was interesting to see how they eventually fashioned themselves in death.

This took a while to find and we had to ask at the cathedral in the end (left and left again as you go out of the cathedral entrance!) . The chapel contains the burial crypt of Ferdinand and Isabella plus Philip II and Joanna the Mad. No photos were allowed which was a real shame as there was some genuinely decent post Islamic marble carvings on the tombs. All info was audio guide only, as seems usual in Granada (and I completely understand why but it is still frustrating). The chapel was worth a 10 minute visit.

Purtroppo noi italiani siamo abituati a visitare gratuitamente le nostre chiese. Chiedere soldi per una chiesa normale non lo ritengo corretto. Comunque sta sulla passeggiata classica di Granada verso l’Albazhyn o l’Alahmbra e quindi si visitare facilmente

Amazing! I enjoyed spending 2 hours there admiring the stunning details. I booked tickets in advance which is a recommended option. You have also the option to book a guided tour

Masterful stone art and centuries-old paintings. The fact that stone art dominates here makes the perception of this place much different than the cathedral nearby.

Ich bin nicht besonders gläubig und habe schon viele verschiedene Kirchen besichtigt aber diese ist wirklich wunderschön. Fast schon ein magischer Ort. Ich empfehle den Besuch wirklich sehr. Gerade abends herrscht eine tolle Stimmung. Eintritt kostenlos.

Die Kirche wurde in über über 300-jähriger Bauzeit errichet und zwar hauptsächlich im gotischen Stil. Innen sehr reich verziert.

Beautiful architecture like so many Churches and Cathedral in Spain.
We should have tried to get in and visit it, but didn't know it was possible.
If you have enough time in Granada you should try.

As Marta, our guide from Walk in Granada, said, this Church, The Royal Chapel was more significant than the great Cathedral itself and therefore delayed the Cathedral building which already took too long..
It is definitely impressive inside and you should visit it.

Beautiful architecture. This church is a must see in Granada.

La iglesia de San Pedro y San Pablo en la ciudad española de Granada, comunidad autónoma de Andalucía, es de estilos mudéjar y renacentista, trazado por el arquitecto Juan de Maeda, fue edificado en el siglo XVI, entre los años 1559 y terminada en 1567.

Se encuentra en la vía Carrera del Darro, frente a la Casa de Castril, junto a la margen derecha del río Darro y a los pies de La Alhambra. Fue construida sobre una iglesia derrumbada en 1559, edificada a su vez sobre la Mezquita de los Baños.
Exterior
La portada renacentista, debida a Pedro de Orea en 1589, es un magnífico ejemplar del renacimiento andaluz de fines del siglo XVI. En ella se abre una hornacina con las imágenes labradas en piedra de San Pedro y San Pablo, con arco de medio punto entre pares de columnas corintias.
La fachada lateral, trazada por Juan de Maeda, y realizada por Sebastián de Linaza, fue terminada en 1568; dicho lateral es coronado por una estatua de la Inmaculada Concepción de la escuela de Alonso de Mena.

La torre, algo maciza pero aligerada por el retranqueo del cuerpo de campanas, el saliente del alero y, sobre todo, por el excepcional encaje en el paisaje dialoga con la entrada principal, desde donde se puede contemplar una bella perspectiva del llamado Tajo de la Alhambra y de las torres de la Alcazaba.

El templo de planta en cruz latina, presenta crucero, enfatizando la capilla mayor, el altar

Los artesonados mudéjares cubren la nave central, el crucero y de la capilla mayor, con decoración de máscaras y serafines de arrocabe y una techumbre renacentista en la primera de las capillas, todos ellos realizados por Juan Vilchez. Además de las pechinas, realizadas por Diego de Pesquera.

Cabe destacar la presencia del órgano barroco, ubicado sobre el coro situado sobre la entrada del templo, restaurado recientemente por los organeros del Taller de organería de Granada y el tabernáculo de la capilla mayor, de Diego de Siloé, realizado para la Catedral de Granada y trasladado en 1614 a esta iglesia,​ y las diez capillas.

Iglesia de Santo Domingo is more worthy of a visit to Granada than the formidable and magnificent Alhambra.
Absolutely stunning - felt so lucky to stumble upon this amazing and beautiful church and be able to go inside. Would have loved to join a service.

Open to visitors even during Sunday mass. Worth a quick stop for sure, architecturally impressive inside.

Eine kleine schöne Kirche in Granada. Ist sehenswert und kostet keinen Eintritt. Besonders toll, wenn man auf der Suche nach bunten Kirchenfenstern ist. Es gibt zwar nur eines aber ist eine Suche wert.

Wenn man nicht unbedingt in die Kathedrale Eintritt bezahlen möchte, ist diese eine kleine Alternative.

It is absolutely brilliant

There are a couple of coffins here. I suppose it was Isabel la Catolica, Ferdinand, and their kids(?)
The building is big and there are many paintings, and sculptures, as well as rope, cape, and crown and everything revolves around Isabel and the royal family of Spain from back then. Nice place to visit but you have to be respectful and quiet during your visit!

Rarely appears open

Fabulous and fascinating. The history is rich, and the art and sculptures are stunning. The architecture makes you wonder how this could have been built when it was. One can easily spend a couple of hours here and the entrance fee is modest. Even our teenage kids were mesmerized by the Royal Chapel. An absolute “must-see” when in Granada. Note that it is very difficult to find parking downtown Granada, so avoid taking the car and use the convenient tourist buses instead.

Charming church next o the massive Cathedral of Granada with its magnificent architecture and detail. Located near the Ermita area of Granada which boasts shops and markets as well as a very colourful spice market. It was surprising quiet when I was there so I had the tranquility and time to take in the sight without the usual thong of tourists milling about, making noise and posing for photos which is distracting at most but sacrilegious in such a place as this. You may be able to experience the same emotions if you plan your visit toward the end of the day or very early in the morning while the tourists are still in bed from the night outings beforehand.

Worth a visit if you are around to have a rest on the plaza in front of the church and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere

This Gothic church with Baroque chapels is worth a short visit. I had never seen a chapel with a Last Supper diorama with life-sized figures! Creepy and interesting!

Quite breath taking décor and architecture. I'm not religious but one can really appreciate the master craftsmanship and beauty in the details of this building and all within it

Small pretty church

Beautiful architecture and the typical brilliance of southern Catholic churches. A sense of all encompassing awe right from the first step.

I just loved traveling across Spain in 2017. Everywhere I looked, beautiful and historical churches were beckoning me inside, to explore and share the beauty of these special places. I fell in love with Spain, it's people, the food, and their customs.

Visited on the churches feastday in September, inside and out bedecked with flowers,stunning. One of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen.

Went there for mass on Christmas 2018 and had my rosary blessed. Will never forget this moment and remember forever

A beautiful church , with stunning adornments, we were lucky to be in it for a wedding and the ceremony added to the churches' beauty.

You can go up of the tower，from here you can see a very nice view. Caution stairs stairs .

Placed near the cathedral, this little church it's like Davide Vs Goliath. Fine decorations, perfect light spots through the windows, beautiful statues, and a stunning ceil. A must -to-see place if you planned to visit the cathedral, particularly suggested near sunset hours.

One of those places of worship that blow you away as soon as you step in. The interior is so intricately decorated, you'll have a neck pain from staring at the ceiling. Highly recommended.
