You are more than welcome to walk in and look around - provided you express your purpose.
The pews and the altar is well maintained but the statues and the numerous plaques need a bit of mopping & polish.
Compared to the hyper busy streets around it, the compound & the cathedral interiors are peaceful & solemn.
Take time in reading some of the plaques. You would need a translation app to understand them since a number of them are in Latin.
Special attention is due for the stained glass discs high above the altar.

The Cathedral of the Most Holy Rosary, is a beautiful and calm place. It's perfect for Sunday prayers.

The old sculptures and designs are interesting and show a lot of history. It's one of Kolkata's historical monuments.

Sunday Mass starts at 9:00 AM. When I went there, there were at least 50 people for Sunday Mass. I think the number of visitors can increase during festival times.

It's a great spot to start your day with peace and reflection. If You want to go there u can go on Sundays. I don't think they'll be allowing you to enter on other days.

Non Christian community can visit 25th December. Open to all and best time to visit.

Located in the Burrabazar area, entrance to the inside of this church is restricted. It opens on Saturday mornings for prayers. No tickets are required.

This place fills my heart. There’s a beautiful, calming energy I feel when I enter - the architecture, maintenance and overall feel of the cathedral is en pointe.
It is often overlooked especially on a week or working day because of the vendors in front and the hustle and bustle around. But once you enter, it’s a different world and experience altogether.

This place is an Oasis of peace in the midst of chaos and noise of Barabazar.
It's a must visit place as the Church is renovated and given a beautiful look under the guidence of Fr. Franklin Menezes, the Pro-Vicar of this Church.
What drew my attention was the bronze look a like door of the Church which depicts the scene of the Anunciation.

Commonly known as the Portuguese Church, in Burrabazar, Kolkata, is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Calcutta. It is also known as the Murgihata Church and was founded in 1799. The Portuguese had arrived in Bengal as early as the 1530s, starting a trading post in Bandel, now a town in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. The Dutch traders arrived next, followed by the French, while the British were the last to arrive in this part of India. With the establishment of Kolkata as a British settlement at the end of the 17th century, descendants of the early Portuguese traders, mainly of Eurasian heritage, began migrating to the city, their numbers becoming substantial in the mid-18th century. They constructed a chapel and were attended by Augustinian priests. In 1799, the chapel was replaced by the church which is used today as the cathedral.

Christ the king Church located near seven points and opposite of Auxilium Convent Park Circus is a Roman Catholic Church⛪. Christians attend Mass on Sunday to pray and worship Lord Jesus. Mass timings are given in the images. The priest is available Monday to Saturday from 9am to 12 pm noon. Thursday closed only on prior appointment one can visit. The parking and wheelchair accessibility is available. Beautiful and serere place to pray. Open for all to visit.

Lord Jesus Church or Prabhu Jesu church is an awesome place. It has been good for hospitality and the place is conducive to stay because it is the center of the Kolkata City.

This extraordinary church is an archaeological representation of divinity and spirituality to the extent of enhancing mental well-being. Visitors can sit inside the church for hours, unconcerned, read the pages from the Holy Bible, or simply go through the priceless inscriptions carved out on white marbles. It’s highly recommended for visitors!

Every Xmas for elderly people there is a Xmas show and dinner held and i was invited to participate here .That was nice cause !
Sound system was not proper for shows should have allowed acoustic singing but decoration awsome !

First time I have seen a church singing prayers in bangla , moreover the picture hanging in the wall discription are written in Bengali . It's so clam and peaceful .

25th December 2020 the church is looking beautiful but entering at the prayer room was prohibited.Still we all enjoy a lot at this holy place.The church was looking so beautiful in the eve of Xmas. It is at park circus 7 point crossing.

I went here yesterday with a thought to attend Mass ceremony.I had never been to church so thought to spend some peaceful time at ye church on Xmas eve.. The church was closed in the night on account of Covid restrictions.
This is just on the main road.Church campus is big and seems to be an old establishment, Well decorated.Merry Xmas 🎄

A beautiful church with a lovely environment. Best place to pray and feel the presence of God.

This Catholic (Jesuit) Church has a long standing history. Placed in a central location (Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road) it serves as a Parish Church for a part of the Taltala area.
It has masses in both English and Bengali on Sundays and other days. Feast days and Holy Week attract bigger crowds.
Recently reopened post renovation it is looking better than ever.
The church premises also has halls, guest rooms (for the religious), a library, basketball court and the famed Chitrabani institute.

Beautifully renovated church. And an amiable atmosphere

It was my favorite Church with a single floor prayer hall. Having such a Gothic structure with huge elevation was under renovation for last three years, now came to a shape. It has been transformed into two floors now. Two slanting evacuation exit was made on either side of the Church. First floor to be used as prayer alter and the ground floor will be let out for social functions to meet the maintenance cost of the entire complex including the Church. Not a bad idea at all.

My lovely Parish would be a definite visit being one of the oldest parishes around this area over 160 years old. Sunday masses happens with some nice sermon. Lovely priests around for any help required.
Being renovated now. Once done its gonna be more amazing.

This is the historical place where Father Paul Detiene, the great Bengali writer stays whenever he comes from Belgium. I recently visited this place to greet the ninety year old handsome Father. This place is gloried by the presence of such great personalities.
