We ordered 3 Schnitzels and fries and split between 4 people; it was plain and boring, not properly breaded and when it was brought out it looked like a kids meal with fries. Ive had better schnitzel in America. Gin and tonic had a terrible pour, not even sure if there was a full shot of gin in there. Worst of all we ask the server if bus or taxi was faster to get to our hotel, he said taxis do not pick up in this area (europa park) and that we could either walk 45 min or wait 30 min for a bus. After waiting an hour in the cold and catching a bus to another hotel AND THEN A TAXI I learned taxis absolutely do pick up in europa park and we were lied to. F$$k you! DONT tip your waiter
The right place for an excellent meal, really delicious and traditional food! Totally recommended!

It was a nice evening. Service was slow and one girl was unable to take an order for a drink as she didn't understand anything in German. 20 minutes later finally another drink. Food was very tasty and were very lucky to get a table. Was priced good and quality food. Recommend.
Waiters are quite distracted and they do not accept credit card!

But these are the only cons: the food is awesome, abundand and tasty, price perfect!

We stopped for dinner at Gasthaus zum Ochsen after a day exploring Europa Park. It’s ideally located a few minutes walk from the main entrance, which makes it a great spot for dinner if you’re visiting the park.

Having visited many years ago, we were aware that they did fantastic Schnitzel, so I certainly went looking for that. The restaurant is very warm and welcoming, and we were soon sat at an available table and looking through the delicious menu.

To start I had a Beef Broth Soup, which was very tasty. Next up was the main event, the Pork Schnitzel which was just as good as I remembered. The portions were extremely generous, and the Schnitzel came with a side of Fries and a tasty sauce - all included with the cost. We also ordered some extra vegetables which were fantastic value too.

Overall, the food, the service and the cost were all fantastic. If you’re looking for a great meal after a visit to Europa Park you can’t go wrong with a visit to Gasthaus zum Ochsen.
Heerlijk gegeten en goede wijnen. De vegetarische ravioli was niet te versmaden😊.
Let op! Zaterdag’s gesloten (?), je kunt er niet reserveren en moet cash betalen.

Dined on a Sunday evening after a long drive. The place got recommended by our hotel host. Long waiting times, and afterwards got seated inside. We were too tired to complain because there were 2 tables available outside. Before being seated, we were warned that the food could be served after about 40 minutes. According to other reviews here, the food is worth the wait. Well not in our case. The home-made liver meatball was on its own not so tasty, but together with the salty broth it was ok. The big pan with steak and chicken filet in sauce was also just ok. Together with the pan-fried potatoes it all became a salty and greasy dish. The schnitzell was just bland and needed the salty sauce. Overall not really worth the wait, it was just ok. The portions are huge.
I was there year ago and had a chance to eat here again this year - back then and now I can definitely recommend it!😊 I eat beef stake and mix of different meats (beef, pork, turkey, lamb) - both were prepared extraordinary, perfectly roasted with a nice addition of souse and vegetables. On top of that very good beer and service that is really concerned about the guests. It is definitely a great place to eat with family and friends!😊
