Been coming here semi regularly for years. Such a lovely mall. Shame it's semi shutting down.
Close to my work! Have so much options for lunch (avoid Coffee Club at all costs though). Cinemas in here. Whenever I buy gifts this is where I go. Absolute helpful staffs and tidy toilets (although some aren't, specially that one next to H&M). Nonetheless very convenient place to shop in. Love it!
Only TWO public female toilets for over 20 stores. Only ONE toilet operational on Saturday 28 October! Huge queues. I certainly hope this has been considered with the development of more stores. Consider shopping elsewhere.
Do NOT go here. ALWAYS too crowded. Too noisy. I go about once a year (only because someone needs me to take them). Trying to get a park is stupid. I park on a side street, and walk a fee hundred metres. There are plenty of other malls, without going to Westfield. Especially DO NOT go on long weekends or Christmas. Just nuts !

I have visited this Northlink shopping centre several times so far, and have been very impressed with the choice of different types of stores to shop at., parking is a breeze and this shopping centre is located within minutes of other shopping centres like Northlands in the Papanui area of Christchurch.If you haven’t visited Northlink yet, by all means do so., you won’t be disappointed!. NB: It would be of a better help if the company who own’s this centre better improved their website with a full directory of all shops within this establishment, there are shops that are not listed on this website., shopping malls in Christchurch have a directory of all their shops and a map of exactly where they are located in their mall.
Midsized mall offer the usual chain stores, food court and cinema. It is clean, well air-conditioned with plenty of parking.

Excellent variety. Top spot for Postie friendly staff and chemist warehouse for really top value. Do drop in
today was so crowded and fully security at mall because luxon was there 🙂
Food court is now right be entrance, for quick and easy access..huge range of stores including Supermarket (pak n save), Beauty therapy, massage, lashes, nail boutiques, a range of prices from cheaper ranges to specialty stores
Good mix of shops. Easy parking, mobility parking too.
Sadly another Christchurch mall that seems to be slowly losing the big stores (e.g. Kmart) and dying out. One advantage of that at least is that it's easy to find a park because it's pretty quiet compared to any other mall. You can still find the basics like the supermarket, chemist and a very average food court but it's definitely lacking in liveliness nowadays. Prefer to go to Northlands or Riccarton as they have much more to offer.
Good selection of product. Variety of up market stores with a food court, gets busy at times. Parking reasonably easy.
Another nice mall to visit .... Always looks inviting and clean and has many stores that will offer something to someone.

This is a great spot to relax because the mall offers numerous tables, chairs, and indoor plants scattered throughout, creating a unique atmosphere. You can unwind and read books for extended periods without any inconvenience.
To be honest, I haven't been inside this building since the finishing touches had been done, and only one or two shops had been leased. I will give an update next time I am in the city.
While I love the outside vibe & the variety of shops are awesome. You do not have enough disabled parking.
There should be at least 2 at the end of each parking lane

South City shopping centre is a quiet place 2 walk around have something 2 eat , they do have really nice cafes & look at the shops .. when there's no children's holidays wea it does get busy

They have lots of stores doing promotions, shoes, clothes and many. Went to cotton on, they have many pretty clothes on promotion, and really enjoyed the shopping here. The lowest price is only 5 dollars for clothes! Is much more lower than other branches, just that only on selected cloth and size limited. They have also 2 dollars shop, can buy some basic things here like containers, hair accessories, baking Equipment in lower price. Besides, they have also food stalls here, sushi are many here

Good eatery place, about dozen places to choose. Much more pricey than a mall or street food. Paid 65 for a box with chicken, a small cup with fries (very good!) a bowl with rice, a green salat and 2 juice bottles.
Typical mall to be honest. Some good advantages. Oasis and the movie theatre are great additions
I have shopped at this mall for over thirty years - not just weekly groceries but haircuts, gifts, clothing and things for home. I don't enjoy entering the mall anymore at the Countdown Supermarket part because of the various beggars waiting at the entrance. I have encountered one on most of my recent visits both during the day (where I was asked directly for cash to pay for the man to pay for a bed for the night) and at night. One man in particular spends a lot of time riding his bicycle aimlessly around in the car park (no helmet) just riding all over the place and abusing people who get in his way. I feel quite frightened but also angry about this. If something isn't done to fix this I won't be shopping at Northlands Mall anymore.
I am sure that I am not the only person who feels this way. I would appreciate a response from the Mall management about this please.

This a great place to go for all ranges of product, delicious food, and very friendly cafes. A great atmosphere and many bargains to be purchased. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🙋🙋🙏🙏
I often go there for brunch and find the service exceptional and the food not only reasonably priced but also very delicious 😋😋. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I rarely rate 5 ....it has to be damned good in all respects...this Mall nails it, great parking,great variety of shops, excellent clean and expansive service area for families, great fast food or sit-down restaurants and bars, great Supermarket with amazing range of wines

Terrible parking, great food court. Good shops. Far too large to walk all the way around just to get to one specific shop.
Terrible parking. People walking all over infront of the car rather than on pedestrian crossing. Rude people, homeless people and not very good shops. No kmart anymore and over priced movie theater. Worst part is definitely parking and entering and exiting through traffic.
The only time we had for shopping for our New Zealand trip.

Great mall, very expensive so if you are looking for cheaper food and clothing go done the road to northlands. Good atmosphere great variety of shops and fresh choice is always very good for high quality meats and veggies

Big and large parking area , 120 minutes for parking is allowed , a big supermarket in the mall . A small food court is in the centre of this mall . Not very crowded at lunch time on Sunday .
I was just walking past one day and bam, Was the most amazing figurine of a character I adored...I never expected to find one in NZ, It made a great companion to the other one I had to import. It was awesome to find this in the wild, Great price and the figures are kept protected in a glass case so it was in mint condition and dust free. Thank you

This is joke as shopping centre. As Australian is very unusual to have so unorganised shopping centre. H&M IS only one to noticeable. All other shops are scattered everywhere. Didn't like it at all. Heading to recarton Westfield.
Its nice to shop at the new Cotton On outlets and Chemist Warehouse here. There are plenty of parking spaces right in the heart of the city center.
Not the most glamorous or appealing place. Kind of a concrete hellscape really. Only go there if they are selling some item or foodstuffs that you want to purchase.
I disagree, it's a good mall, and it beats shopping in Timaru! Further more, if you go to the information desk, and quote them your car rego number, you can stay all day, now that, is pretty good! I know the toilets can get neglected from time to time, but that sometimes happens, as don't forget, there are a huge volume of people using them. All and all, I think the toilet facilities, are quite satisfactory. The shops in my view, are very good, and the prices, are very competitive, which makes the shopping experience satisfying. I for one enjoy visiting this mall.
Large and long shopping mall in Papanui , Christchurch . A large food courts inside the mall , Two to Three Cafe shops and Japanese foods shops , Large emporium and General Shops , Two large supermarkets are open up to 22:00pm (10:00pm) , Sufficient carparks available , Very busy and crowded .
Beautiful boutique mall, lovely clothes shop options, beyond food choices .. not as stressful as some of the bigger malls. On Friday there is also a mini market just inside the carpark entrance.. (highly recommend the food there)
Great centre easy parking. It's a shame other larger department stores give it amiss for establishing their business there
It's very busy esp around 5pm which makes getting in and out of the carpark very hard ... I stop when it's quiet 🤫

Just knew this tiny but luxurious shopping mall. It's very easy to ignore when go through Papanui Road. A large car park at the backside, and a side door towards Aikmans Road. One of the very rare malls has shops upstairs in Christchurch. I can't find free wi-fi, but still like to sit inside for a break.

I used to love spending hours (and a fair chunk of cash) shopping here with an array of specialist and boutique shops. Sadly now if you park and shop for longer than 3 hours you will be rewarded with an $85 parking fine, so please be warned if you do stop here, ensure it's a fleeting visit.
An alternative option for Northlands Mall nearby. Quite a few shops on site. Plenty of car parks. Need to be aware that the toilets are closed after 6pm.

Went to Countdown. Often go there after Pak n Save because puntdown Moorehouse will have what they don't. So completed my shopping. Including they were flush with eggs.
Fab array of retailers here with numerous carpark spaces. Great for a lunch stop also..or just a coffee at the cafe..been here several times.

Went to countdown, easy access car park and few disabled parks which I use were right by the door , makes my shopping easier 👍
I wouldn't call it a mall. But it's a nice aria to walk around
Typical shopping mall, they are all equally bad and sadly main attraction and place for people to spend their time on the weekends. Riccarton Mall is the oldest in town, overcrowded, with very limited parking options. Takes forever to find any parking spot, especially on the weekend. On the plus side there is something for everyone from cinema to variety of boutiques, shops, services and food and cafe options. Almost everything g you need you can find there if you don’t mind the stress of pushing through the crowds of people who seem to be there all day long, from the opening to closing.
It's an OK mall,it just seems to lack shops that are different. The grocery shop is great, but the other shops just don't hold my interest. The clothes and shoe shops obviously sell more upmarket products, but the mall lacks atmosphere.
Hang Seng Food Bar - good place, comfort food for those who miss Chinese food and rice, able to speak cantonese too, rice portion huge, suggest 2 to share one bowl, order more later if not enough, really enjoy the food here with wife and couple friends, especially after some 14 days in South Island, can do groceries at nearby Count Down after.
What can I say...🤔 It's a shopping mall. I avoid these places unless I am left with no other choice. Unless you are after, K mart or a warehouse, then all you need in a shopping mall is here. Banking. Food court. Bargain chemist. Clothing. Appliances. Electronics. Gaming. Jewellery.. Coffee. Movies. Bakery. Hair. Nails. Flight centre. Restaurant. Bars. Massage. Discount outlets. Plenty of parking. World at your fingertips. Things for the young, the not so young and the used to be young. 😁 Soooooo something for everyone. Unless you want to get it from the warehouse or K Mart. If you are looking for something, You can find something at, The Palms. (Shirley. Shopping mall) 😁😁😁 Everything at your palms. 😁
My children love wandering around and much better have them run in fresh air than a mall. I wouldn't take them when I want clothing shops but nice for little look and bite to eat. Like escalator only goes when stepped on, nice touch for sustainability. Yes, a lot of shops are expensive but that's okay, can go to Dress Mart Hornby for deals. Can walk to Catnap Cafe 🐈
Average shopping centre. Only tend to visit this Countdown if we're in the area & wasn't able to get something from our regular Countdown store. Not very pleasant being approached by beggars.
Lovely little boutique mall. A variety of high class shops to browse and a good food court with mostly non-chain retailers. Of course the added bonus of a cinema. Great parking too.
Beautiful during the day for shopping with plenty of carparks also the evening with family catching a movie at readings up level 2 with convenient parking also based upstairs easy access to the theater, Night life catching up with friends fox & ferret a fantastic bar eatery's just on ground level cannot miss the food court fantastic variety of choice's, very excited to see city fitness gym being a new addition to palms ❤️🖤

Like all malls it is busy. I don't go that often but it is the closest mall to where I live so when needs must I head there. You find pretty much all that you need in the retail and service places in the mall. Have been to the Fox and Ferret for lunch meals and it is nice there. It has a library and service centre on a site outside the malll building. Good bus service to get there from all points of the city. Seating around the mall if you have time to sit and watch the world pass by.

While it's not a bustling mall, I find myself drawn to this place on a regular basis. After a visit to the nearby stationery store, it becomes my go-to spot for a comforting cup of coffee and a quick sushi fix. There are also a budget-friendly two-dollar shop offering very good gel pens and a delightful Japanese bakery for a sweet treat.

Guy that was working there should not be employed. Anywhere. Spouts of anger and swearing whilst me and my friend were exploring the store every 2 minutes (seriously?!) Mumbled when asked any questions.
Friend bought a couple posters and the guy mumbled very quietly if we wanted them rolled. Couldn't here him so asked if he could repeat himself - he ended up yelling if we wanted them rolled very loudly.
Guy obviously has some problems. Should not be working with customers whatsoever. Absolutely ridiculous - won't be back!

The Christchurch City Mall, an excellent selection of shops from Ice Cream to Department Stores, when your in the City Mall it feels as you are in another city with the ‘fancy’ and ‘casual’ shops.
From here you are a short walk to anywhere in the CBD so it is a great place for a day out if you aren’t a regular visitor. The people around are kind and there are always a steady stream walking around. Overall, a lovely mall, I have been there numerous times and people should be getting out of there towns and coming here, it is a place to remember.

Nice Christmas decor (Santa's photo studio) in the concourse, children will definitely enjoy it. If you're worn out shopping, can even take a rest on the seating that is provided in the mall, lots of eateries to choose from if you're hungry.
It would be my favourite place in Christchurch. The selection, atmosphere. It showcases the ethnic diversity of Christchurch. I have tried Vietnamese and Nepalese food and both were excellent thoroughly recommend the market to all. Eat your heart out Auckland.
So much in one mall. You will find it difficult to decide what food shop to eat at. Ballentynes Department Store is here, definitely worth a visit or three. Some chain stores and also some artisan stores. Grab an Icecream and go sit down by the river. Visit the historic Bridge of Remembrance.
This is a surprisingly good place. Great coffee and food. I've been there 3 times and each time I have tried a new place for food and coffee. I have not been disappointed. The dumplings were excellent and the spinach and feta scone I have just had was excellent. Well worth stopping and as it is an easy walk for me I will keep going back.
South city has so much potential just wish it was used right, little investment and it would be back booming but this time set up for new generation. Would love too see it super busy again. Malls aren't dead yet

Wow! This was my 3rd time that I enjoyed a movie there. Absolutely amazing experience! Very convenient way to buy tickets and it was cheaper, great location and parking. The movie experience was awesome. They definitely have a good range for everyone regarding movies. It will be more appreciated if they can do the same regarding their foods. A nice place to hangout with your friends and family. A great range of restaurants downstairs with a lot of varieties. A must place to visit.
Love it here. The heart of Christchurch and it has everything you could want in clothing, make up, department store and cafes that are excellent. I visit this area allot. Love it!
I love this city. The atmosphere is calm and the air is cool. It is suitable to remove fatigue. The store is also complete, ranging from clothing, bags, restaurants and many more. The place for pedestrians is also wide. Public transport is also very nice! The city is still recovering, so a lot of construction is ongoing. Someday I will come back here
Cool little mall. St Pierres have good sushi, there is a mac Donalds a new world a warehouse etc etc really busy vibrant fun mall with everything you need. The new world is really a special supermarket.
I understand the need for traffic speed humps because of continuous idiots going too fast
But the speed humps at the crossing outside the bars and restaurants is ridiculous and quite dangerous
I came to a complete stop before going over them as I have degeneration of the spine but still the speed humps are so severe that my spine was jard causing significant pain
If the dangerous driving is so bad at that exit would it be better to simply block that exit off making it an entry only
In any event you should remove those dangerous speed humps and put something more suitable before someone really hurts themselves in the way of spinal injury
I hope you take this review seriously

May I also suggest if those yellow speed humps are temporary while something more permanent is done then you might consider clear well placed signage warning of the danger should be put in place
