Amazing guy and he knows his Butterflies 🦋
Had an amazing experience here. My guide Susan did a good job explaining how butterflies have a span of 4 weeks and their life stages from egg, larva, pupa then adult. The butterflies there, are not so many, about 10 of them and they ensure their environment is clean and that they cannot fly outside, hence the heavy net. They feed on nectar mostly from plants and flowers and there is one type of butterfly that cannot feed on those plants so they feed on rotten juice e.g orange juice.
Entrance fees in the photos.
It's a beautiful sanctuary for butterflies which I found really helpful in conservation. I also got to see tortoises.
I was delighted to discover this live butterfly exhibit just a few metres from Fort Jesus. It gives insights into the life cycle of butterflies, in a cool well maintained sanctuary.
Learned a lot and was worth a visit. Not that kind of a tourist attraction which is great!
A magnificent place to learn about butteflies and conservativation. It is very affordable too. Book a trip there and have fun with these beautiful creatures
Educating place, but need to improve, little butterflies here, maybe because of the local raining season, gifts shop available.
Excellent Place. I went there with two little girls, it was a mesmerising experience for them with all the beautiful butterflies and shining pupae. It's a place to get a practical explanation of the life cycle of insects. Ideal for kids and adults alike.
