I mostly go there to shop on the second floor- that part of the store is amazingly well stocked at reasonable prices. Whoever is a buyer for that section of the store is doing a great job at it.

Honestly the best supermarket I've been to in Brooklyn. The food selection is very good. The prices aren't wholesale, but they're not outrageous. The produce, bakery and deli are always fresh and clean. They offer alot of great services including delivery and pick up. Both are done professionally for reasonable prices. I love shopping here.

Store is really big and nice looking. I was excited to go in! The inside was as i expected. Then i started shopping, saw some tags and the price seemed alright.(sale items) Then as i walked each isle, the real prices were showing. Omg, i cant afford the food here! Prices were crazy!! oh, the meat was expensive too. I bought cup of soups and anything i could by at sale price that I ate. Was a real disappointed, just moved here and now I have to find another place to shop. Anyone know of another food store in this area? Reasonable prices??

Good service fully stocked with options from snacks to protein bars.

The store has many options of food that are friendly for everyone. (;ie vegans or people with nute allergies) But checking out is where most troubles are if you remove an item from the platform it will say something if you put down something on the platform it will say something. Aside from that the store isn't too bad but it is extremely overpriced.

Good small supermarket. Vegetables are fresh and well-priced. Although the store is small, there is a good selection.

This is probably the best supermarket in Bay Ridge. It's very clean organized and the shelves are fully stocked. The prices are okay. But I watch out for the sale items since we have several mouths to feed. The meat and chicken appear to be fresh and well stocked. Occasionally, we'll buy sandwiches and prepared foods during lunch. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh and well stocked. Checking out is easy. I usually do the self checkout and the staff is always willing to help if I have a problem. The cashiers are are also very good. Always polite efficient friendly
and professional.

Bay Root is a nice, clean shop with meat counter, import products, and very friendly staff. They now offer camel milk! It is very healthy and tasty - my daughter loves it!

They have pigeons literally living above the veggies outside. Major heath risk, this is extremely serious and could cause diseases like cryptococcosis, histoplasmosis, psittacosis and more! Go check it out if you don’t believe me, it’s a sight to see such greed and carelessness. Owner saving a couple dollars on your life, what a sorry excuse of a human being.

Clean market with really great staff. Very helpful. Deli, meat and fish counter staff is great. Management is always visible and ready to help. Register Cashier team is quick and also great. You've won our business time and time again. Thank you.

Nice clean store. Has a nice variety of products. Friendly staff. Owner is a gentleman, always listens to customers when he's around. Upgrading some dairy refrigerators soon.

Looks small on the outside but has all your grocery needs inside, they also have parking! The staff is friendly and doesn't show you attitude like some more known places you might go to. Good deals. don't forget to download the weekly catalog at the entrance of the store!

low quality meat and produce, some products are expired and some are opened and exposed for months in the fridge such as Kunafa, lahbajun, kibbe and more.
This is the least I can say about this place.

We've been customers of Bay Root meats for over 5 years but we're shifting to Balady. Anytime you come, there is NO meat and the chicken is in bad condition and discolored. You can only get mince and God knows what's in it. This is despite the fact that we come the day the meat supposedly arrives and not one cut is available. It's been one year, no joke, and we can never get any cut of meat we ask for. No cuts, no steaks, no biftek, nothing. Just mince. But I guess the customers that give the butchers money on the side as we see in front of our own eyes take precedence over loyal customers who never shopped for meat anywhere else in Bay Ridge. Lesson learned, you lost a repeat customer because your butchers give meat to who they want and save it for the people they like (who can give them money on the side). I guess bakhsheesh is more important than repeat business and customer loyalty.

Excellent service but sometimes they forget the special instructions like putting mayonnaise on my sandwich Which results in a dry sandwich on delivery of my food Other than that I would give them 5 stars instead of 4 stars

We stopped to pick up an order. At that time a gentlemen asked for assistance with his car. He needed a boost. My husband said sure let me pick up this order that's when my husband asked me if I wanted a bottle of water from the Deli and the gentlemen said go get whatever we wanted I am the owner. He was so thankful of us helping him. He even said get some flowers. We did get some rich food from the Buffet and he went himself and got me a delicious smoothie. It wasn't about getting anything free it was more about how grateful and thankful he was. The humanity in his gestures, cleanliness and delicious food is the reason we would revisit this Deli.

Place is clean and well-stocked at all times. Food is fresh, and meats are halal and fresh always! Workers and bosses are friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Love this place for fresh bakery items at reasonable prices. The day I signed my lease to move to Bay Ridge,, my daughter and I walked around the neighborhood and found this store. Huge variety of specialty items. Their rotisserie chicken is well seasoned and tender and worth the $7.99 price tag. When I arrived today at 5 pm, they only had 3 left on the shelf. I also love their selection of ready made brownies, there were 4 kinds and the caramel sea salt were really good. This is my second purchase of their sourdough bread. It is so soft, which means it is fresh. They also had Irish soda bread, getting ready for St Patty's Day and plenty of pretty floral arrangements for Easter, when you first enter the store. There is free parking across the street for customers. I never leave empty-handed! They didn't have chicken salad and no one was behind the deli counter to ask, so I got a rotisserie chicken instead, with plans to make my own, but ended up picking the.chickem off the bone before I could make salad. LOL!

I don't understand how they leave out so much rotten produce, no matter what season. The meat looks sad and suspect. And everything is overpriced. $7.99 for a half gallon of Horizon organic milk with the DHA and Omega 3 in it.
I've been there 3 times total (it's convenient)... but I can't go back anymore because I felt judged by the Asian lady ringing up my stuff. They take EBT, but with some sort of condescending attitude. So, yeah. F this place and the people in it.
Also, the store is old and dingy and terribly outdated. I didn't know Met had such awful businesses.

The store is great. Well stocked, good selection of items compared to other nearby stores and also better prices, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

They also have the cutest shop cat in the world. I go in there sometimes just to see the cat and the owners are so chill, they’re fine with it.

She came up to me my first time in the shop asking for pets — never seen a shop cat this affectionate. Her name is Pudding, she’s 3 years old and loves cuddles. She is very tiny and she has the cutest little blue eyes. I would like to rate Pudding 5/5 stars. A truly supreme cat *chef’s kiss*

Very clean, and welcoming staff. The food is always hot and fresh. I can’t say enough about how convenient and clutch this place became . There aren’t too many places in Parkslope where you can have a decent hot bar for a quick bite. Worth a visit.

The worst. Do not go here. No grill, they microwave eggs and charge more than any neighboring stores. What a joke

It's a good little supermarket. The prices are a little higher than bigger supermarkets but that's fine because of the convenience. The staff is also very nice and friendly and helpful. I would recommend this store.

I used to like this store but i recently encountered a very bad behavior from the Latina girl inside who treated me very bad and without any manners or respect! obviously they don't like to keep loyal customers! what a shame!
I will never go back to this store again!

It wasn't a big shop. But was able to get all 3 items I came for. Sometimes hard to find Baby Corn. Waterchestnuts and Bamboo Shoots. Worker was very helpful. Helping me find them. Masks worn and Social Distancing practiced.👍👍

Product is good but be careful shopping here. They have been caught by several people in the community adding false weight to scales and over charging people. Have done this during Ramadan too, astonishing, yes. The fruit store across the street are the same owners.

Higher end supermarket with a huge parking lot located across the street with plenty of parking always available.

They have a nice selection of coffee, beer and cheese including homemade mozzarella. Their products are slightly pricey but of good quality. Their store wasn’t dirty but the produce section floor needed sweeping.

The entire store was a bit too dimly lit and the layout was slightly confusing, i.e. Teriyaki was located in 2 different locations, aisle 1 & 3 with both containers labeled “marinade & sauce”.

Overall one of the best supermarket in Bay Ridge.

They are fast with their cooking service. Got a decent Philly cheese steak on a roll & it is cooked as expected. In & out time is fast too. No waiting.

The Brooklyn Market has an excellent selection of items! I usually travel the extra distance to shop here instead of Key Food, which is much closer to home. They have a wide selection of products I used to have a harder time finding, such as pints of Van Leeuwen non dairy ice cream. You will sacrifice the speed of available self checkout lanes, but the cashier staff is incredibly friendly and very helpful. Be sure to check out their artisanal cheese counter!

I shopped here a couple of times, due to the fact that this was one of the closest markets in the neighborhood. The service is extremely terrible! The produce section could be a bit better and the meat section...for get it! It's horrific! It is small with limited options! They run out quickly and they take too long to replenish. Do not even think of asking to use the restroom if you are in dire need....you will be turned away!!!! If you want to shop for any spices at your leisure, you will not have that luxury as you will have to stop by the check out counter, as this is where they are kept!! How Inconvenient!! You have to hold up the line in order to pick or choose which spices you need or want!! My husband was in need of a restroom and was RUDELY told that he could not use it by the Cashier! After being told that he could use the facilities by an employee, who told my husband to go to the cashier for the key...she refused to give it to him!!!!! I have never experienced such poor customer service!! I would not recommend with market for my friends nor family to shop at.

Use to enjoy shopping here- very close to my home and convenient. However will
NOT be going back. Last trip I came home only to find that majority of the things I purchased were bad- moldy bad or melted bad. Absolutely not- when it comes to food everything should be fresh. On top of the fact that they have specialty store prices but no specialty foods. If your going to charge $4 for blackberries, I would prefer them not to have mold on them. Not going back.

Nice people. A compact store but not completely claustrophobic sized, great for Staples and I would probably shop in there often if it was my neighborhood. They have kimchi so that is always a plus for me in southern Brooklyn

I love this store for all my trini home needs and my packages are always on time and intact.

Great normal bodega selection. What sets this place apart is their hot lunch from the steam table. A few delicious selections that change daily. Usually, they have chicken and pork/beef stews, plantains, rice and beans. They save the crispy bottom of the rice in case that's what you like. A "small" portion of meat stew plus rice + beans is pretty big and only costs around $5. They also do cold cut and breakfast sandwiches. Great place.

Clean, fresh produce, and a great variety of products! Prices are not too bad. I cant believe the had pre packaged greens for my veggie shakes... I love this place! Great new addition to the neighborhood.

I've been a customer of Bay Root Meats for years, and it always feels like you’re asking for some kind of favor when asking the butchers for meat. Both butchers have full control of whom they sell, and if you pay extra you get what you want. Keep in mind that the quantity you asked for will be doubled (by so-called “mistake” always) and the professional butcher will make it sound as if he started work yesterday and he has no clue how to weigh the meat so you'll always end up with 40% to 50% additional quantity compared to what you've asked.
The issue does not end up here. When I (and several people in the community apparently) confronted the butcher and told him that I didn't ask for 5 pound, but for 3 pounds only, the horror story began.
Since the confrontation, we haven’t been able to buy any cut of meat from that shop except the minced meat, any other request, they'll say that they don't have it. They will tell you to come on Wednesday, that's when their meat order arrives (as they claim) so I went ahead and gave them a visit on Wednesday around 1 p.m. and I was surprised to hear that the meat didn’t arrive yet, and they asked me to pass by next day. Thursday arrives and when I went there at 1 p.m. the butcher said that the meat is arriving at 4 p.m. so I ended up just taking minced as usual.
Next week on Wednesday day, I call the butcher and asked him for 2 skirt steaks, he said that they are available, when I went there, which took me 5 minutes, I asked for the steak and the butcher said that they ran out of meat for today, I told him that I called and asked before I come, he said 1 min let me check. After 2 minutes he comes out of the storage with a 1.5 pound piece of meat and sold it to me as skirt steak, he said that he has 1.5 pounds for today only, when I wanted 3 pound. I took the cut and went home. Lo and behold, it was not a skirt steak. It was a cheap cut of something else completely. I was scammed. And he had no problem scamming me.
Add to that, most of the products at the shop are 1 to 3 months away from expiry date, especially the sweets, and the bulk products which they always have an offer on.
Most of the products in their fridge are opened and exposed.
Final tip, be very aware of the chicken breast you buy over there, as sometimes I've noticed that they mix two breasts in one package – one fresh, the other old and about to expire. This is ridiculous and looks like the owner has no clue what’s going on in the store.

I am impressed that this fairly small super market carries so much. There are times I find an item that I can't find anywhere else. I have 2 complaints and they are significant. One is that some of the meat is not fresh. I bought chicken that smelled bad when I opened it even though the date was okay. The other is that they often do not have the sale items that are posted on the window- meat only.

Great little butcher shop. Meats are fresh. Kaftas are great. Shish kabob meat are really tender. Tell also sell middle eastern snacks and treats. Parking however is an issue.

Ive been buying trini products from them for years. They always ship as promised and I never had an issue.

Super-impressed with this store - family owned since '56. Not big, but well stocked. Neat as a pin. At opening this morning, an army of employees straightening and cleaning. Wonderful produce, bakery, and meat departments. Great selection of fresh ready-mades. Really first rate effort form these folks
