Ppl who work in WIC don’t care about you. I’ve called 4x in 3 weeks and had ONE return call that I was unable to pick up due to bad timing. Immediate call back with No one to answer. Such a shame this job is so hard for those ppl to keep up with.

Went to the Alexandria City Health Dept for COVID vaccine, and was very impressed by the level of customer service by everyone working there. There was staff helping people park and get checked in and directing people where to go once inside. Our Nurse was so nice and professional, our little one didn’t cry at all. After seeing the Nurse there was staff waiting for us to help guide us to the waiting room, where there were balloons, stickers, pencils and coloring books for the kids and we were able to make a follow up appt. Everyone there was so kind and helpful.

After getting the phone number on line for the health department, I viewed the reviews that were posted. I was quite concerned about the bad reviews that I was hesitant to call. But I did any way. It was the best service that I wasn't expecting ever! So glad I did! Thanks Michele you were excellant!

Forget trying to get any help from their records department. They'll tell you they can't do anything (with the Virginia database they can access!) and direct you to go to Richmond. If you need an appointment call early, because they'll tell you they're closed for the day an hour before their closing time.

They deserve 0 stars as far as I’m concerned. You can call all day every day for the WIC department and leave messages all you want, but if you expect a call back.. forget it lol. I’ve already sent an email out and I doubt I will hear back from that as well. Must be hard for people to do their actual JOB by setting up appointments through the phone. Super dissatisfied.

UPDATE: Still would 100% give these people a 0 rating. We’re military and have qualified for wic previously when I was pregnant, now that I have him they are saying we don’t qualify because of how much he makes.. which is barely anything because most of the money goes to housing/rent. The lady I spoke to recently kept saying it was put in wrong when I know it wasn’t, she didn’t seem to understand anything I was giving her about his actual amount he makes… continued to argue with me when she could’ve just let me speak to someone who knows what they are talking about. Ridiculous.

All of the nurses are so kind and patient. I think I had Adeline help me out - she was so wonderful and took the time to thoroughly go over things with me. I couldn’t be more grateful to them for taking care of me. They do income based payments.
