I can't say enough good things about Pillar homes. I am not in the construction industry, but I have had all three homes that I have purchased over the last 25 years or so built from scratch so I have a good idea what fine workmanship is when I see it. All I can say is that the design of my new Pillar home coupled with the attention to detail and value for the money is just stellar. The project manager built the house as if he was going to live in it, and when we did the walkthrough, we found absolutely nothing wrong which is remarkable. Last, Michael is great to work with and a super nice guy as well. Have Pillar build your next home! You will thank yourself later, trust me!

Highland Homes stands for high quality homes and the standard options available to you at no additonal cost are of high quality as well. When I got my home professionally inspected the inspectors were absolutely impressed with Highlands work. Additionally, in the community I live in no one wants to leave their Highland Home. The only person that has sold their Highland Home in my community has actually built another home with Highland Homes. I worked directly with Matt and he was always kind and super professional. If you ever have a concern throughout the process just speak with him and he will help you right away. I highly recommend Highland Homes as your custom home builder.

Everyone I know who built a home has shared how stressful the process it. I can honestly say building a home with Pillar Homes was a joy! Michael guided us through every step of the process and really made us feel like he had our best interests in mind. Lilly made the design and selection process fun and easy, she has amazing taste! The professionalism and workmanship is top notch and only exceeded by exceptional project management. We have an amazingly beautiful and quality dream home all thanks to Pillar. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Pillar has been a great company to work with. They helped us build our home and we were very pleased. They aren't the cheapest but the quality of their work is worth it. It's better to pay a little more knowing your product will be solidly built. It's been two weeks since we closed and so far, everything has run smoothly and they've delivered what they promised.

Summary: Below represents our experience with Pillar Homes and the Boutros Family. To summarize in several words: Family, Commitment, Quality, Perfection, Creative, Luxury. We have friends for life with this family.

We first discovered Pillar Homes while searching for our Florida retirement home in early 2018. We were able to observe every major builder in central Florida as we toured new homes and communities in the Windermere, Winter Garden, and Clermont area. After looking at many homes and discussions with builder representatives, we thought we had good idea of the various levels of construction quality and price.
We happened on to Victoria Estates (Pillar Homes) while driving around in Clermont one afternoon. We immediately noticed a distinct difference with the sites and the homes. We were impressed with the details of the exteriors.
We first met Mike at the “Open” house. He walked us through the home, explaining the features and design of the structure and of each area of the house. Based on all the searches we had completed thus far, this house was loaded with upgrade options....was our assumption. When we finished the viewing, I asked Mike the base price vs the list price with all the upgrades. I was surprised to hear Mike explain the house was mostly their standard house. From the coffered ceilings, to the crown molding, the large kitchen cabinets, the tile, and on and on, it was all included in their standard build. There wasn’t a lot that fit what we were looking for in Victoria Estates, but we told Mike that when we find the right site, Pillar was our top builder pick.

We ended up finding the “perfect lot” and closed the sale by Labor Day 2018. Fast forward again to Thanksgiving 2019. We scheduled a meeting with Mike to review some home design options and get an idea of timing - start to finish. We were attempting to time finishing the home with retirement plans. Within weeks, we had a custom home designed and a signed contract to build!

The Boutros family worked flawlessly behind the scenes with the mortgage company, the Lake County, and the various permitting agencies to get the construction started. Mike had given us expected timelines for permits and (as we came to know) he under promises and over-delivers! We had concerns with delays due to Covid-19, and while some of our meetings were pushed to later dates, throughout the construction project, we continued to be surprised by stage completion dates being better than scheduled. We met Lilly during one of our socially distant design studio meetings. Her expertise and ideas made this process flawless and enjoyable. She is so personable, we continued to feel like we were in a partnership with a family who is building our home rather than another customer in line at a busy corporation.

During the construction, we were able to observe the qualities that we’ve come to know with Pillar - precision, insistence of perfection, timelines, and process management to name a few.

We casually met Kevin in the design studio. We came to know Kevin had been on the site by his hand written check lists and blue tape. He has an eye for perfection. We have full confidence that the very slightest defects have been found and fixed, as we move into our home.

We have moved six times since we’ve been married. If you’re in the market for a new home, in our view you won’t find a better builder. We no longer think of the Boutros’s as builders, but as a part of our family. They made this lot become our dream home to share with our grandkids, family and friends for many years to come.

My Wife and I are about to break ground on our 2nd Custom Home with Highland Homes of Clermont. Their attention to detail throughout the process lead to an extremely beautiful home with very few surprises during the build. Matt was extremely diligent in explaining the endless options that come with building a Custom Home and providing honest feedback on where our money was best spent for a amazing home within budget. We are very excited to be building with them again. Highly Recommend!

We absolutely LOVE our house. Michael and the whole Pillar team is great to work with. We love the architecture, the interior design and the high quality of the construction. The attention to detail is very apparent. We cannot say enough how much we love our home. You will be very happy by choosing Pillar to build your home. Great experience to have a great home.

We have been in our home built by Highland for about 2 years. I have contemplated for 2 years about giving a review and after recent events I thought I would finally provide one to give others my experience. During building our house, Matt, the apparent general contractor, was not involved with contractors for most of the building process. I was at my house almost everyday to make sure things were getting done correctly and Matt was never there. I asked contractors if he was there and if I happened to miss him, but the contractors would tell me he wasn’t there at all. After that, I was told by Matt not to speak to the contractors. First of all, I’m spending a lot of money to build a house, I can talk to who I want to. And if I didn’t, things wouldn’t have gotten done in a timely manner. If I wanted to be a general contractor, I would not have hired a custom builder. We spent almost half a million to build and as I know this is not the most expensive home Highland builds, we work hard for our money and expect customer service to be a 10 out of 10. Mimi, who I believe is their admin assistant, was always pleasant and friendly and has excellent customer service skills and was a pleasure to work with.

Highland advertises a low price per square foot to build a custom home, but it basically gives you 4 walls and a roof, so be aware when you are asking for “upgrades”.

After we closed on the house, we never got a thank you and never heard from them again until I had to reach out because our roof was leaking. After getting a hold of Highland, they informed me that it was over a year since we closed, but they would fix the roof as a courtesy. Really? The house was just over a year old.

Recently, against our better judgment, we reached out to Highland in hopes customer service has improved. We were requesting to have an addition built on our home as an in-law suite. I was told by Mimi (no fault of hers), that Matt doesn’t usually build additions, only does new builds, but that she would have Matt contact me. I reached out to Matt directly as well and did not hear anything.

Overall, our house is still standing and it’s pretty solid. I’m giving 2 stars for that reason, plus Mimi was always easy to work with. If your expectation is to be your own general contractor, but pay for a customer builder then go with Highland. If not, look elsewhere.

Pillar Homes, LLC are amazing people to work with. Michael and his family made our home buying experience easy and stress free. Not only are they wonderful people to work with but they also build beautiful quality homes. I love that when you walk into a Pillar home everything you see comes with the house. The open floor plan and high ceilings make a great use of space. Pillar Homes are truly an amazing company to work with from start to finish. Thank you for making our home buying experience easy!! We built our home with Pillar Homes due to due to their reputation and quality workmanship. That was the easiest decision by far and the best decision that we could have made. Lily and Michael were incredible to work with. They were patient, responsive, and knowledgeable through the design process. They communicated with us regularly through the construction of our home as well. At times we felt we had more communication with the Pillar Homes team than we did with our relator. The closing process was extremely smooth, with great craftsmanship and attention to detail. We have lived in our new home for over a year, and have had minimal warranty work.

The team at Pillar Homes didn’t just build our home and move on, they have become friends with our family. I have noticed this trend with many of the families they build with. They are a local-family business, ran by multiple generations and it is easy to see how they gained their reputation. They have great family values and take pride in their work. I highly recommend them.

They went above and beyond the call of duty with giving guidance, answering questions, and making the entire process stress free and exciting from start to finish. I've lived in our custom built home by Highland Homes of Clermont for over a year now. I have had no issues and could not be happier with our choice of builder. Matt and his team were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. There is no better builder in central Florida. If you are looking for someone to build your dream home, look no further. Highland Homes of Clermont is simply the best.

As someone who has actually built a home with Highland Homes of Clermont, I could not be happier. When we first started researching building a custom home, we never imagined it would be as affordable as the tract homes we had already looked at. It turned out to be slightly less. A vast majority of the "upgraded" features we wanted (tall cabinets, granite countertops, attractive plumbing fixtures, high ceilings, large/plentiful/quality windows, arched doorways and more) ended up being standard with them. Plus we could basically do anything we wanted! In our case, we were working off of one of their floor plans, the Brianne, but as we customized it to fit our vision, we weren't charged the difference for every little thing...if it didn't use more materials or was similar in price with what they normally did, there wasn't a charge and there was never a fee to change the blueprint. The only times we were charged extra is when what we wanted to do exceeded the price of what was considered standard, and even then, only the difference in cost between the choices. You might think you're building a home "custom" with a tract builder, but they have "change fees" for everything, the available lots are very limited and often have zero lot lines; nothing nice or quality comes standard and you'll find yourself having to eliminate things you really wanted, telling yourself you don't really need them because it's too much extra. With Highland Homes of Clermont you really do get a lot more.

Yes, it takes longer than building a tract home, but you'll end up with a superior home. Take a look at even the high rated mass builders before going into a home built by Highland Homes of Clermont, you will notice the difference in workmanship immediately. If you're bothering to build a home from scratch, my husband and I could not recommend Highland Homes of Clermont more. The entire process was wonderful! Dale, Darryl, Matt and Mimi were super friendly and entirely accessible throughout. They were very open to discussions on the pros/cons of our choices and effectively guided us to the best results with their vast pool of knowledge. It was all a very personal experience and they always made us feel like we were their only clients. We never felt left to the wolves and we always knew where we were in the process. They made sure we were satisfied with every aspect of our home and genuinely cared about job they were doing.

If all of this doesn't convince you to check them out, perhaps you'll be interested in knowing that we love Highland Homes of Clermont so much, we're in the process of building our second home with them (closing May '18)! Everything has been just as great the second time around. They understand what it means to take pride in your work and that is incredibly difficult to find in this day and age.
