Great restaurant to try when in Santarcangelo di Romagna. Excellent food and very good service. They produce their own cheeses right on the premises in their own cave below the restaurant. A must visit restaurant when in this town.

I highly recommend this restaurant which is part of a beautifully restored ancient residence in the historic village of Santarcangelo di Romagna run by brother and sister Sabrina and Roberto.
Food, wine, service and ambience (overseen by Roberto) at both Ristorante Lazaroun and adjoining sister venue La Salumaia are all excellent. Be sure to ask for a tour of the tufa caves below them for ageing cheese and salumi.

Service unaufmerksam. Touristen eher links liegen gelassen. Die sicherlich immer wieder kehrende Stammkundschaft wurde auffallend zuvorkommend bedient. Das Nudelgericht eher durchschnittlich und die pasta weichgekocht.

Really good quality for the cuisine diversity you can find, ranging from Indian to Mexican and Italian.
The service could be improved if the staff would be more emphatic and present, overall it was kind of slow and on various occasions we had to wave the waitresses for attention.
I would rather recommend the place as I really enjoyed their dishes.

We didn’t like at all the food, strange taste and smell.
In addition, we had the feeling that because we are tourists we got different hospitality, especially from the manager.

Best location, atmosphere and service. Food was excellent and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Sant'Arcangelo. Make sure to visit the grotte under the restaurant ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I came there just by a recommendation by a local guy. I made a reservation for lunch, after when I came the owner told me the restaurant was full. Finally I got a table, I asked for a terrace one and they gave me one almost in the terrace, but not totally outside. I ordered a pasta (homemade) and a meat, a Fiorentina,just for me, I needed to order 1 kg because the don't sell it less. The food was ok, but the service not so much. In general I didn't like the place, I hope better service for more than a 100 euro what I spent just for me. I start smoking an electronic cigarette in my table (almost in the terrace) and came the owner telling me I can't smoke there because I disturb another tables. (I would like to see him when some children of next table was disturbing me).Also the coffee is horrible, one of the worse espresso what I tried in Italy.. I see in your reply you are glad about for me "the food was ok", yes was just ok, I am chef with Michelin star experience and believe me, I tried so much better food than yours. According with the price are so much better options around. Just it's my opinion and my experience at your house. If you don't like I can compensate you too. Have a good day.
I loved every dish, from the antipasti to the dessert. Pasta was delicious! Fantastic service too, thanks to Federico, who made us laugh with his sharp sense of humour. His service was impeccable: Very attentive and professional. Highly recommended trattoria in Sant'Arcangelo di Romagna.

This place was amazing in terms of food, ambience and service! Prices were reasonable for a ristorante with a very family atmosphere.
San Giovese is the vino to order (obviously), the food was homely, hearty and delicious - I'm saying this a day after visiting Bologna, so you know it good.
I would reserve a table where possible, I was here on a weekday and they were packed! Was lucky to get a reservation

Simply superb!
The food is tasty but a bit overpriced for the portions and the quality you get. We ordered typical dishes of the region - gnocchi and passatelli, both nice but very flat in taste. They didn’t have artichokes for passatelli that day. The gnocchi were served in cheese sauce and nothing more to break the taste. The restaurant was mentioned in the Michelin book, but we did not have anything that would support this choice.
Delicious food, fast service and very friendly sparrows (they are not on the menu :) )

I don't understand why this place is so popular. I ordered the degustation menu and most piadinas were just average. One of them was actually terrible - it mixed cheese with pineapple that was clearly taken from a can. I had better piadina in other places in Romagna. At least the waiters were friendly.
Wahnsinnig gutes Essen, die Bedienungen sind einfach nur ultra freundlich. Gleich Mal Gesellschaft unter Gästen gehabt. Typisch italienisch! Ich lieb es.

Not recommend you to order the vine by glasses, I tried twice and it was bad quality. With the wine by glasses was the total shame.

The taste of the food is perfect with the right ambiance. The wine is good and as well the service is quite nice. It makes me feel like I’m in a medieval time still.
The farm is very cosy and modernly equipped. The rooms are very traditional and on the small side but there are family cottages available.
The dining and wine experience is absolutely amazing. While the hotel is on the modest side of things, the restaurant is one of the best culinary experiences you can have in Italy.

Good quality for the price
Amazing local dishes, friendly staff, high quality produce - very pretty square and romantic / rustic atmosphere. Nice organic and regional wines, too. Impressive grotto in which they ripen their own homemade cheese. This can then also be bought in the salumeria next door. Very worth a visit and excursion to this lovely village. Combine with a stroll.

Tipico ristorante romagnolo.La parte interna è in un vecchio edificio storico sulla parte alta di S.Arcangelo, locale caldo e accogliente che valuterò in futuro, al piano superiore un terrazzo con sala e ottimo panorama. Quello che ho provato è il loro giardino (probabile idea COVIT all'aperto) in un piccolo uliveto hanno ricavato piazzole per i tavoli e posizionato luci che formano ( con un po di fantasia) un cielo stellato. Tavoli rustici con sopra tovaglietta in cartone usa e getta con il menù. Sedie non proprio comode specialmente per le signore .Matita e carta (vedi foto) per ordinarli il menù poi passa un ragazzo (regole COVIT non rispettate : la mascherina serve per coprire il naso bocca non solo il mento) camerieri improvvisati, ritira e poco dopo vi arriva in cestino con tanto cartone usa e getta e il vostro piatto, parliamo di piadine.Acqua e vino a parte.Se il giardino è pieno l'attesa e piuttosto lunga. Piada piu spessa ben farcita e buona, leggermente diversa da altre zone. Prezzi medio alti, purtroppo tutto il cartone vi viene fatto pagare con un coperto 1,5€. Simpatico il bagno con carte per tutti i tipi. Anche dal giardino il panorama e bello.Buona idea per serata al fresco senza fretta
Santarcangelo di Romagna is one of the most underestimated destinations by tourists in Rimini. The Borgo is a medioeval destination where you can experience proper local food, surrounded by a magical air. Osteria del Campanone definetly helps to create that environment. The restaurant is located under the clock tower, so once you get nearby the arch, you only have to climb up those stairs. There is a restaurant at every corner, but Osteria del Campanone is a must among locals when it comes to piadinas. You cannot say you have been to Romagna if you haven't tried piadinas, which is the typical flatbread made with lard (careful vegans! Ask for the one made with olive oil instead!). Inside, you can ask for any filling. Generally, it is either prosciutto (crudo or cotto) and a type of cheese (you will hear mostly stracchino or squaquerone). Once you get to the Osteria, they don't have a menu. So, you can either ask the waiters or get their "degustazione", which is a basket made for minimum 2 people where you can find some of their best piadinas. My favourite is prosciutto crudo and caramelised figs. They can get quite creative, so it is probably better to ask, if you have any specific allergy or intolerance. The only reason why I am not putting 5 stars is for the queue. We had to wait 1h 30 min to get a table for two. They don't accept reservations and, due to covid, they are only making available very few tables outsite (around 12 tables). Therefore, try to be there around 18.30 and you will probably have a table around 19 when they open. Get ready for at least 30 minutes waiting outside!

Arredato con cura di ogni dettaglio, ovviamente con il tema dei galletti, che sono dappertutto. Sicuramente uno dei locali più caratteristici di Santarcangelo.
Abbiamo cenato in terrazza al piano superiore, da cui si gode una vista panoramica stupenda al tramonto.
Antipasti e primi ottimi.
Da provare il galletto al mattone.
Torneremo sicuramente.

They’re also offering some really great cocktails served in classic glasses. It’s perfect to have a seat outdoor where you can enjoy the typical street life of santarcagnelo di romagna!

Everything here is super amazing. A restaurant filled with so much history. Very old beautiful amazing place. You live in the 90s here and with amazing staffs, good food, wines etc. Its a most visit restaurant
The food was really really good and the town is an absolute jewel. The tables outside are in a really cute spot of the village. Definitely worth a visit. Personnel was not very friendly

MAKE A RESERVATION! It's pretty full all the time and hence my first suggestion would be to make a reservation. Definitely the food must be good for the price you pay. Not that it's overpriced, but it's not your everyday restaurant. The dishes were really on point. Tried the Sardine Pasta, their focaccas with tomatoes and the Gnocchi. All the dishes were equally impressive. Cheers to the whole team for putting the restaurant and the dishes together, you feel the warm welcoming atmosphere when you are in the restaurant. Definitely hope to go back there when I'm back near Rimini

We all had different starters, mains and desserts. We tried each other’s. Each one was sublime! Service was friendly, informative and high quality. Best place I have eaten in on this Italian holiday
Dopo un breve imbarazzo su come far accomodare tre stanchi viandanti accompagnati da un cane (molto più stanco di loro) i gestori si son prontamente ripresi e in breve hanno dato solo il meglio di se. Camerieri gentilissi e attenti, cibi leggermente fissati sul galletto ma eccezionalmente buoni e particolari. Infine la location curata nei minimi dettagli: antica costruzione con volta a botte, lampade calde e accoglienti, pavimento in cotto. Insomma tutti gli ingredienti per gustare un pranzo con coloro a cui vuoi bene.

Very nice location and very clean. Friendly reception and service. We stayed in for dinner and the food was not as one would have hoped for. The breakfast was ok.
Mediterranean menu, a lot of selection. Staff is prepared but the service was slow. We had to wait a little too much for the food, but the quality was good.

I've been there for a marriage.Service was good. I've requested the cicken to cook the dinner for my little baby and they'll fulfill it. We've also have a good time near the swimming pool that's next the building.
Stepping in Zaghini's is like entering a sort of time machine. The typical rustic and out of time atmosphere preserved by the descendants of the founder, la Signora Zaghini, as well as the menu filled up with Romagna's evergreen dishes, will capture you from moment one. Just sit down and don't think too much: treat youtself with a mind blowing dish of tagliatelle sprinkled with Parmigiano, home red wine and enjoy! Selection of meats is also on the menu. Rare Angus fillet and slowly cooked lamb bone rank the top positions! Service is very warm and down to earth but prompt. This place used to be visited - and still is - by famous Italian movie stars, poets such as Tonino Guerra etc. Images framed on the walls depict these glory days.

Extremely well cared and cozy place, typically furnished and with a special “soul”. The menu is based on very local ingredients and it’s very qualitative. In add every daily offer presents special dishes very fresh and tasty. Prices are ok! Remember to book and taste their Sangiovese wine.

The best place to eat piadina in Romagna. Normal and special type of different ingredients to put inside. The personal is helpful and very friendly. Sometimes there is a long queue outside, but it is worth waiting.

Very reasonable prices, amazing food, big portions and nice decoration. It was a tiny bit too loud (probably because we had a ten people table next to us), so a little bit of acoustic isolation wouldn't hurt. Other than that, the music was perfect and the service was really good.
We had the best chicken Tikka Masala ever (it was huge!!!), delicious chicken skewers and falafel.

Fantastic beautiful agriturismo. Poolside bar. Super polite staff. The food was some of the best we've eaten in Italy. Save some room in your car, as you will also probably want to bring home a case of their wine.

Lovely rustic Inn with great food!
Every time I come here it's always a great experience. Amazing atmosphere and service, really well prepared waiting staff. The food and wines are perfectly tuned in between the traditional dishes of the region and the more recent re-elaborations, always very flavorful and fulfilling. The price is above average I would say, but well worth it for the food.
