Excellent acoustic, great seats and view, very attentive and courteous staff, and great cocktails. Highly recommended.

Like many others mentioned, even though you pay the same rate, they assign you to the corner with the pillar blocking the view. I checked in at least 20 minutes early and there were plenty of empty tables out front, but they still gave me the worst one. The music is great, but don't expect great service.

Good music, but the seating is terrible. They have a large room, and yet they cram all the seats on top of each other. I understand that people enjoy being close to stage, but it's uncomfortably and unnecessarily cramped. Also their system of checking you in and then making everyone stand in the crowded vestibule is rather unpleasant.

No sight lines to performers unless seated up front. Too many tables/seats for the venue. Worst venue I have ever been to.

If you think it's 4 or 5 star hotel, you will be disappointed. It's 3 stars, average at best. You will have 50 outlets in your room but not 1 USB to charge your phone. Bring a power block, they don't have them at reception, but they sell them in the cafe. Its 2024. Not one charger outlet in the room, but you will get a shoe clean sponge in the bathroom. Parking...everyone I was with got parking for $22 per night. When I inquired about it, they told me I didn't pre pay or request it when I book directly with them. That's true, but it wasn't offered. How should I have known when making the reservation that $22 parking vs $44 per night parking was available? Front desk clerk could have cared less, so customer service experience was very fast declination and that's it. It's reasonably clean, just ok accommodation. I will never stay here again.

Alright so I booked with them after reading reviews and knowing about a lot of complains around cost etc. I was still fine with it just because of the location. So after happily overpaying them I come back to my room the next day all made up and good but there is no complementary water bottle but the paid ones are still there. I'd like to highlight how such small practices and not providing the adequate service maybe normal at this hotel. Please be cautioned.

We loved our stay at this hotel and we will be back! To start, the parking garage had tons of space to park, it’s free and led right into the hotel lobby. The lobby has a nice cafe, the hotel restaurant had a great breakfast and the indoor pool has a beautiful view of Boston and the river. Our room was modern, clean and an excellent view of the city. The whole property was really kid friendly and it’s only a short walk from the Museum of Science and the massive Cambridge Side mall.
I will add a photo of our view from the room. Long story short, I highly recommend this hotel.

Another great stay at the RS. We enjoy the hotel and the view very much. Could things be better sure but wjay they have and provide is good enough for a great stay. One suggestion I have would be to kill the DJ in the pool area. The music is terrible.

Be warned. Even though tickets are “general admission” this bar will assign you to sit at a certain table. For example: I paid the same as everyone else here and am stuck looking at a pole all night instead of the show. Disgraceful. Jazz in Boston is dead.

The food was good, service was great, and has a nice atmosphere. Took us a while to find a spot here due to the popularity, so try to book in advance.

Some of the dishes were a bit too fusion for me or dramatized but the taste was exceptional in each. Highly recommend for a date night, try to get the seats near the patio for less noise.

One of my favorite restaurants! The food is absolutely delicious and the family that runs the place is so nice. Definitely check this out if you're looking for great Lebanese food!

-Front desk staff were very accommodating
-Hotel and rooms were clean and there were complementary apples out front every day

Negatives:
-The heating unit in my room was broken. They fixed it the next morning, but had to have them bring a space heater for the night.
-The seals around the shower door were broken so there was a big puddle of water on the floor after taking a shower. They said they'd have the "engineer" take a look, but no one did.
-The hotel restaurant accidentally charged my room for someone else's meal. I was still required to pay for it at checkout and it was on me to call back for three days until I reached someone who could correct it. Honestly, they should have made the note and followed up with me, not the other way around.
-This wasn't so bad, but if you're put next to the service elevator, be prepared to hear lots of stuff being moved around. Again, it didn't bother me, but I could see it being annoying for others.

Pretty good beer selection and well-priced, but the food really isn't good. The nachos were...bad. Mediocre chips that were cold, served with a sprinkling of cheese not really melted well and stale iceberg lettuce. The quesadilla...not good. The burgers...meh. Good spot for trivia on Wednesday nights, though! Just plan to eat elsewhere or at home.

Not the worst place to stay but for the money I’d expected better. Upon arrival after unpacking I discovered the fridge and phone in my room did not work. I was offered to switch rooms but seeing I was only staying for 1 night and had already unpacked I decided to stay. The gentleman at the front desk did give me a coupon to the coffee stand, I appreciate this but would’ve like to see something more substantial done. Further, I found that a large piece of the headboard was broken and instead of replacing it they painted it black. There was also a hole in the ceiling of the bathroom where an exhaust fan would typically be. Despite requesting a higher floor we were on the fourth. While it was ultimately about $200 cheaper than alternative hotels in Boston, still paying roughly $400 for one night I had expected a better experience. Next time we will definitely be checking in to a different hotel and bite the bullet on price for hopefully a better experience. I’d recommend looking elsewhere for a place to stay

Very good restaurant, which gave us a good culinary experience. Interesting mix of flavors and creative dish ideas. The desserts were amazing. The environment is cozy and casual, making it an overall very nice experience. I suggest to ask the staff to walk you through the dishes as they are not very common and I found myself having to google different things.

Great experience! We had a late reservation but were able to start a little bite earlier, which was the perfect timing to try 7 dishes - everything was delicious and extremely well made. Highlights of the night were the Fatteh and the Sultans Delight. We ended the meal with Künefe, a dessert with cheese, different but really good! Good wine options and well made drinks (recommend their version of the expresso martini with the dessert).

I’m here to share my experience at the Royal Sonesta hotel in Boston.
Arriving at the hotel Sunday afternoon, my wife was greeted pleasantly by the doorman. I believe this is the only pleasant moment during our stay at the hotel.

During check in the front desk reception seem cold and it was an unpleasant welcome to the hotel. Charging about 4-500$ a night you would expect a bit more than 3 star service and overall feel and experience. A free smile perhaps would brother things up. The hotel seemed pretty vacant and lots of parking was available. The family headed to our room on the third floor and the door was open/unlocked? It seemed strange, we asked the cleaning lady if perhaps someone was in the room? It would have felt unpleasant if there was another guest in the room we were just assigned to. She say no and we proceeded to enter.
The room was clean and warm. The view of Boston was a sea of gravel being on the 3rd floor. Furniture in the suite was chipped in multiple places and the bathroom looks like it has some mold.

For my family our experience at this hotel was far from Royal. It does not make sense to pay a premium for this hotel when Mediocre is what you may get. It’s unfortunate for my wife and son to experience what we did. Maybe, perhaps I can help save others the experience of disappointment.

Only the doorman was pleasant and a very welcoming man! Too bad I couldn’t say more nice things about the hotel.

Excellent, Excellent Lebanese restaurant in the Camberville area. The food and the service was so good. We got the appetizer sampler which included hommos, tabouleh, mujaddara, and baba ghanoush, the labneh+zaa'tar plate, the vegetarian kibbe, and topped it off with 2 baklava plates. It was a great experience which for me was nostalgic and reminded me of some of my grandma's home cooking. Best baklava i've had in the area too. The hosts were so friendly, and it was lovely to chat with them. Definitely coming back.

A warm cozy top notch Mediterranean restaurant in Cambridge. You require pre reservation the restaurant is almost booked all the time. A lot of vegetarian options. It was my second time here and I must say the food has been consistently good between my visit. A lot of good options my personal fav Zaatar Bread, Topik and must try spinach falafel and fatteh ! Menu is based on small plates we ordered 4 items between 2 people. They also have a good collection of wine and cocktail.

Lively pub turns into nightclub later on. We only had drinks & watched sports. Plenty of screens & very attentive bar staff.

As best as I can tell Regatta bar operates exactly the same way as when it first opened in 1985. From the vintage track lighting they use as spotlights, to the aging sound system, to the actively hostile to patrons setup with no ordering at the bar and only a single waitress, bartender and runner.

My friend and I biked to our show and arrived early figuring we could sit and chat before the show. It was unseasonably warm and we both needed some water but It took more than half an hour before the only waitress made it to our table, despite only about a dozen seated tables. Great, we ordered, and I could see that the bartender didn't have any orders to work on so I assumed our drinks would be fast, but no, it's Regatta bar, and the waitress wanted to take a half dozen more orders (on paper) before walking over to the POS to enter them and only after that could the bartender start working on them, at least ours was first.

I asked for Ice Water with lemon and was told they only have small and large sizes, and I was like "no, tap water, you know from fresh pond" "no we only have bottles." Okay fine, I'll pay you $10 for a 1L of Acqua Panna which came out with a tiny wine glass with a lemon slice in it and no ice. The bottle was well chilled but I shouldn't need to wait 45 minutes before getting water.

My friend and I both ordered Manhattans, his up, mine on the rocks. Friends they came in the same martini glasses mine just had ice in it! My friend looked at me and said "I'm sorry for your drink." All and all it wasn't a terrible drink, no hint of bitters, and only an orange peel for a garnish but at $12 it wasn't priced such to make me angry.

Normally I'd have been upset that the waitress never came to see if we wanted a second drink, but honestly it was better that I didn't get one and buying the 1L of water was a blessing as well since I would have quickly finished my tiny wine glass of tap water and been much angrier about my inability to get more water than I was about paying for imported Italian water.

When faced with no other options to see an act you like you'll someday end up at Regatta bar too, my advice is not to drive (you *do* get $2 off the $33 it'll cost you to park at the hotel), order your alcohol plain and neat, and if you bike buy a bottle of water and bring it to your seat to drink while you wait for service.

Food other than the chicken kabob and only the chicken was horrible. The rice was a mush. Adas polo was inedible. Mushy rice unbelievably salty. Tahdig was so stale and soft. they admitted that it was from 2 days ago and they had reheated it and that is their normal practice. Will not go there again. For a Persian food, if you cannot get the rice right …

Food is ok. The atmosphere outside is ok. Service is slow and mediocre. Waited outside after I had been seated for a while to even order a drink. Then I was told I had to give up a credit card even though I wasn't ordering alcohol. The server was very annoyed that I asked why that was. The whole experience is just MEH.

I first came here seven years ago and I’m elated to see that the food quality has not diminished in the least. Every dish is outstanding and the mix of flavors is so interesting. I’ve dined at a LOT of restaurants and this continues to be one of my favorites. You must try it!

I had a delightful experience at Oleana restaurant. The food was exquisite, and the ambiance was truly captivating. The servers were not only friendly but also attentive, ensuring our dining experience was top-notch. I couldn't resist trying the Baked Alaska, which, though good, didn't quite meet my high expectations for taste. However, I acknowledge that it's a crowd favorite. The rest of the menu was exceptional, offering a unique twist on Mediterranean cuisine with its incredible sauce combinations. While the portions were on the smaller side, the quality more than compensated. Although Oleana leans towards the expensive side, I'm already planning to return for more of their outstanding dishes. Side note: dish-Topik was my absolute favorite.

Legendary Cambridge music venue with awesome owners, and staff. The Phoenix is of my favorite venue since I was 19 y/o. They feature great sound and production for a little central square bar. The fish and chips dish is to boot! I don't drink anymore so I haven't been in a while. I'm overdue!

I’ve enjoyed watching soccer here for many years. The food isn't great. The service is generally poor. There aren’t many bars that show soccer so it’s easy to overlook those issues. But I had to walk out this morning. All of the TVs kept freezing. There was clearly an issue with the streaming. No one could seem to figure it out or really care. Management/ownership needs to figure it out. This isn’t the first time there have been issues with the TVs but probably my worst experience. You can’t have a soccer bar and so frequently have issues showing the matches.

The service is great. The girls do a great job on the floor. We ordered jumbo and they brought mediums. The crabs were full and good but just not what we ordered. The food comes quickly. We also had salads which were good. I had cream of crab and it had so many flour lumps in it that it ruined the 16oz 16$ bowl of soup. We will never return based on these facts. I hate to say anything bad. Again. The floor staff was really great and attentive. And it's not the severs fault what management allows.

I love food, and one of the things I love to do when I travel is to try different things, this time Portuguese food was on the list but wasn't the best, octopus and shrimp were okay nothing special just okay, clams were good, chorizo, nothing special, the Arroz de Mariscos... Seafood rice, barely any seafood with lobster that they said they have to change more, and just a few grains of rice floating in sauce, not my type of seafood rice... Desserts were good.
Definitely not a place to come back.

In my opinion, their website undersells the quality of this restaurant. Yes it is casual and comfortable, but the atmosphere has a subtly superb decorum.

The food was fantastic. I had the broiled oysters with bacon and cheese-exquisite. The blue crab cake had the largest pieces of meaty crab I've ever seen such an entree. It has made all other crab cakes unacceptable in my mind. My side salad was made with fresh greens (i.e. NOT iceberg lettuce) and even the hush puppies showed an unexpected level of culinary quality.

I've lived a mere two minutes away from this restaurant for a year and passed it daily on my walk to work. Despite six years in Boston, I'd never ventured in, mostly due to seeing a predominantly non-Indian crowd – a potential sign of inauthentic Indian cuisine. Tonight, I finally gave it a shot, with little expectation given my past experiences with Indian restaurants in Boston.

Though recommendations leaned towards parathas and Chole bhature, I ventured to order a Bathura and Chicken tikka masala. The latter came as a thali, complete with rice, salted yogurt, and pickles. A generous portion, it mirrored what one might find at an Indian dhaba. While the presentation was authentic and appetizing, the chicken was unfortunately cold and clearly looked like it had been prepared hours before. Given the late hour, I won't dwell on this too much. What caught me off guard was how delicious everything tasted, and the texture was also so good!

The staff, however, left a bit to be desired in terms of warmth and hospitality. The space is compact, with some outdoor seating available. The place is cash-only, and I didn’t know that beforehand, so I didn't have enough cash to tip them sufficiently.

Without hesitation, this is the best Indian food I've had in Boston. If you ask me, "Will you go back?", yes, absolutely, and I can’t wait!

Awesome spot for takeout. The servings are generous and the food never disappoints. I've tried items all over the menu and haven't had anything worse than "very good". I tend towards the chicken or lamb mushroom masala the most often. Meat is tenderly cooked and the sauces are extremely flavorful. Spice levels can go high if you want it. Naan is typically fluffy and hot but occasionally this is the item that suffers by being mass produced on busy days. Highly recommend getting a vegetable samosa with any dish, they are delightful. For dine-in there's a new plaza right outside if you prefer outdoor seating to the somewhat tight interior space. I usually get takeout. With the new plaza outside, curbside pickup is no longer feasible, but there's a bank one can park in for a minute without a fuss, to run in and grab your already-ordered food. Oh, and they are one of the few restaurants I regularly order from with an extremely responsive and useful custom website. This place rules and the people working there are super nice too!

This is the restaurant my family never misses when we're in Cambridge or passing through the city. During our most recent visit, we indulged in more than three dozen large crabs, and we relished every bite. The quality of each crab was outstanding, and it truly enhanced the entire dining experience. The crabs were incredibly sweet, juicy, and perfectly seasoned.

Whether you're a seasoned crab connoisseur or new to the world of steamed crabs, I recommend giving them a try. They serve as a delectable reminder of life's simple pleasures – good food, great company, and a taste of the ocean's or bay's bounty. :)

As someone who grew up in Portugal I always love our meals here. They are pricey but authentic. I recommend the robalo, vitela, pasteis de bacalhau, polvo, feijoada- we love coming here. The only plate we would not recommend is bacalhau a bras.

Some of the best calamari I've ever had. Everything was delicious. And the drinks were amazing. Come early , because it seems tables fill up fast. And with food like that... It's not going to stop any time soon.

If you love authentic Indian Food. You have to try this place. Nice air, all professional. Welcoming environment. Bright open street view through windows is definitely a plus.

Food is made fresh and portions are very good and prices fair. They used to use more seasoning and spices but the food is quite bland now. That said the quality of the ingredients are good. We had felafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, zereshk rice, chicken koobideh kabob wrap, grape leaves, fries, tabouli.

Vegetarian food was good but the Mutton boti kabab masala wasn't that good as it lacked the flavors. Other than that, the service is top notch and the ambience was great

Came here for an early dinner, and wasn’t expecting much but some pretty good food. Well I was blown away by not just their food, but their service too. Upon entering I warmly greeted and shown to a table near the window, which overlooked the street view of Harvard Square. Because it was early, there weren’t many patrons dining, but you could tell they packed a crowd later in the evening. It was plenty of space and the table setting were neatly placed.

I ordered a lychee martini and it was soooo good. Usually I have to ask for extra lychee, but they put 3 in my drink from the start. It was very tasty. They charge an extra $3 for top shelf vodka.

For my meal, I ordered the chicken samosa, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan bread, and a dessert called gajar halwa.

They give you two chicken samosas, which are packed with chicken. And no need to over-order this dish, because the pieces are very big. You could probably spilt this between 3 people easily. The chicken masala was amazing. The chicken was marinated heavily, and so tender. It was just really good.

As for the garlic naan it was a nice portion, and tasted even better after dipping it in the sauce from the chicken tikka masala.

I wasn’t a fan of the gajar halwa, but I’m sure someone else would love it. It was too much carrot for me.

I only gave the atmosphere a low rating, because it was hard to find the entrance & there’s construction going on outside.

Staff were super friendly and accommodating, requested to sit outside and they made it work! Food is incredible, good vegetarian options. Portion sizes are small, so keep that in mind. Overall, a necessary spot to eat at if you live in Boston/Cambridge!

Owner is a great guy! Food and service are fantastic. What a deal and they have it all in the buffet on a rotating schedule (lamb, goat, shrimp, vegetarian; not to mention good naan).

We got the appetizer sampler, the Kafta, limeade, and the house salad. And it was all AMAZING. I would come back for all of it but the appetizer sampler and wine would be a perfect day 😍

Decent food. The place was almost packed. Staff was not supper involved, they did not bother taking our order for a long time.

They only accept cash! Workers were rude and acted like they didn't even want someone to order. The food is not as cheap as you'd think for the small portions and old-tasting meat. The mango lassi was pretty good and the basmati rice was very sweet. The meat portion (I got chicken) was very small.

Excellent food. It was really tasty and the quantity was good too, we took home leftovers. The service was great, it felt like they really did care about us having a good meal. The view is great since the restaurant is on the 2nd floor and it's entirely surrounded by glass. If you want vegetarian food, they have lots of options. Highly recommend this place!

I saw Ocean Odyssey Crab House when researching places to eat while staying a couple of nights in Cambridge. This restaurant was right down the road from our hotel, and their menu looked very appealing. So we we stopped on our first night, and our group had mixed feelings overall. There was an obvious trend that those of us who had seafood dishes, like myself, were very happy with the meal. Those who had chicken or the spring rolls were less than satisfied with the meal. Makes sense as the restaurant is a seafood restaurant, so one would expect the seafood to be good! I had the Bay on the Bun. I took off the greens, but I was very happy with the sandwich. Very delicious. The fried oysters were delicious as well. So, in my opinion, if you go, then try to stick with seafood. I wanted to try the steamed crabs, but pur party was under a little bit of a time crunch. Our service was very good. The waitress was attentive, and staffing was adequate for how busy the restaurant was. Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant was very clean too. Sadly, we do not have a reason to come to Cambridge Maryland other than this one trip. But if we did co.e back, we would certainly come visit Ocean Odyssey Crab House again. Albeit, a little wiser, and only order the seafood items.

I’ve ordered from here two times a week for almost an entire summer. The food quality is great and the location makes it super convenient! I like most of their paneer dishes on medium spice levels and their portion sizes are just right. Prices are v good as well, especially on doordash. I do recommend!!

WORST RESTAURANT.. DON’T WASTE MONEY. Went here for lunch today (11th august 2023), we ordered chicken samosa, chicken curry, garlic naan, Tandoori roti and goat biryani. Chicken samosa was good but chicken curry was SO BAD the chicken was not cooked properly. Tandoori roti was dry and the goat in goat biryani so literally so uncooked that we hardly ate 1 piece, when my husband complained to the server that the mutton is not cooked properly that person said,”yes because the goat was old it was not baby goat”. I want like what -_- I was literally dumbstruck after listening to that answer. I even puked twice in the evening because of that pathetic food. This restaurant should just shut down, it was that bad plus it is very expensive, I don’t really mind spending those extra dollars but atleast maintain the quality of the food they only want to make money.

An amazing culinary experience! The food was incredibly creative, the combinations of flavors and textures was brilliant, the presentation was impeccable while still being inviting, and most of all, everything was delicious. What a great experience of modern Mediterranean dishes.

Anytime I’m traveling for work or vacation, having great food is a big part of my enjoyment, but I don’t have the same satisfaction when I eat alone. This was an exception thanks to the casual atmosphere and the friendly staff who clearly know the menu well. I sat and ate at the bar, and the bartender made me feel like I was having a meal with a friend while also offering great advice on what and how much to order. I will certainly be back, and will bring friends and colleagues with me!

On my recent visit, we started off with the flamboyant Grilled Portuguese Sausage, arriving ablaze at our table. Contrary to its seemingly dry exterior, it unveiled a juicy, fat-laden interior, with a crisp outer layer adding a textural delight. The clams in olive oil and garlic wine sauce were also exquisitely cooked, with the simplicity of the seasonings allowing the freshness of the ingredients to take center stage.

The Bife a Portuguêsa, a wholesome ensemble of fried steak, ham, and fried egg, was hearty and comforting. Even though it came across as a simple dish, the quality and flavors surpassed any typical steak and eggs combo at regular diners.

Casa Portugal epitomizes the essence of homely Portuguese food, offering excellent, no-fuss dishes and swift service. The eatery's philosophy of minimal seasoning ensures that the ingredients' natural flavors shine through, truly showcasing the essence of traditional Portuguese fare. Looking back, my only regret is not discovering this place sooner. A revisit to explore more of their menu is unequivocally on the cards.

Good old rustic style Indian Dhaba. The kitchen was surprisingly open for viewing right behind the cashier which was great and a rare sight.

The first big bummer is that they only accept cash. I think the Indian owner is trying to save some taxes at the expense of their customers time and painful atm visits
Coming to the food. We ordered chole bhature , alu paratha , tava roti , lassi and shahi paneer

Chole bhature :
The bhature were fresh and had a good homely vibe to it. The chole were good but not exceptional. It felt a bit bland with very little spice or tadka if you may.
Alu paratha :
The paratha was freshly made which was a good thing but again the taste was a bit bland. The filling was heavy but low on taste. Could have been better. The size was huge and can be more than enough for one person
Shahi paneer :
Shahi paneer was a swimming pool of fresh cream. The cream over powered the entire taste of the dish. I could not taste any spice any masala other than the cream. Cream is good to add for some good layer of creaminess but dont cooke your food in cream.
The good thing about this the fact that it was served with a lot of add ons. Paratha , rice , onion , raita and an onion pickle at no extra cost. Again a rare sight. Felt very dhaba style and was happy with it

The lassis were very fresh and tasted good
Tava roti :
Fresh , big and good. Add some makhan to give it a dhaba feel may be

Overall a good raw experience with basic decor. No parking. We parked at a nearby Walgreens which was a 2 min walk.
They can def work on the taste of the food and for the love of god keep a credit card machine.

Went in on a Friday night in central square and probably should have known the place wasn’t that good when it was just us and another small group of 3.

For the price, food portions were small and honestly just not very good in taste. We tried some curries and biryanis. The curries were alright but the biryanis were honestly quick mediocre. Service was slow and the waitstaff was pretty disinterested. It’s really not cheap for the portions and really wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for good Indian food.

This family run restaurant is an absolute GEM. I love to treat myself to lunch here when I’m in town. I have been enjoying Cafe Barada for many years now. My favorites are the Fattouch Salad and the Lentil Soup. Everything is absolutely delicious and you can taste and feel that the food is made with love and passion. The service is amazing, too.

We found the best Lebanese restaurant while staying in Cambridge for a short staycation. We met the owner who provided exceptional service and everything was so fresh and delicious. Definitely will be returning with friends and family!

My group and I stumbled into The Maharaja on a beautiful afternoon. We were immediately greeted and sat down. We then met Edwin. Let me say this, Edwin is one of the best waiters we have ever had in our lives. Best energy. Best service. He also was the bartender at the time, making us genuinely the most refreshing drinks. What an incredible experience. Thank you Edwin and thank you The Maharaja. 10/10 experience, we’ll be back 100%.

Stay away! They will bring you butter that looks like jello ,they charge extra for NORMAL HEATED butter, we were a large group? Group of five is a bit too much for them , our server didn’t ring up one of our orders, so the food was delayed, our server was nice about it her name was Amy , when we had questions we asked another server & that server yelled out “Amy! Your table has issues!” We were mortified, poor customer service, we asked to speak to the manager her name was also AMY, I appreciate that she was sympathetic to our concerns, she promised that she would relay to management on how we were treated, this was our first and LAST visit , as far as food goes, the crabs could have been super hot, they were warm

This was a really cool restaurant! I ordered the mild Chicken Mahkni (Butter chicken) and it was so creamy and rich in flavor!
The Mango Lassi was very smooth and went great with the slight spice in the food!
I’m very sensitive to spice but I found mild to be good. If you are sensitive I would recommend getting Lassi to go with it to counter the spice in your mouth. Overall good experience!

Nice Indian place at Harvard Square. Chicken tandoori was full of flavor, soft, and well cooked. The lamb and chicken biryani were delicious. The serving dishes are gorgeous and Taj Mahal is my to go beer at Indian restaurants. Overall, great experience.

Delicious combination of spices that'll make your taste buds happier and happier with each bite! Definitely a must if you're ever around and feel like having an authentic experience.

I had a delightful experience at this place, flavorful Persian food, meat was tender and juicy but definitely tasted the excess onions added to the mix… Rice was not what I had expected being that I had tried Persian food before, it needed more seasoning and butter to enhance the taste. On the other hand, Salad, hummus and stuffed grape leaves were Ok! Overall, this place is a definite recommendation for anyone who wants to try Persian food while enjoying the seating and the atmosphere.

Excellent experience every time we go here. This time we ordered lamb biryani, an extra raita, and a mango lassi. Oh and before they bring the entree, they serve a cumin bread with three sauces which are really tasty. The food smells good, tastes good, and just makes you feel good. The yogurt complements this dish delightfully. We had it yesterday, and I already miss it! The service is wonderful and everyone is so friendly and nice.

A group of us 8 adults and 2 kids visited this restaurant after touring Boston. They have ample space in the restaurant to accommodate this large group and their own parking space at the back of the restaurant. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helped us make an informed decision about what to order, especially since we one person in our group was vegan. I liked how their futchka (pani puri) had a restaurant made flavor rather than a store bought flavor that usually these kinds of restaurants have. We had daal, bhunna gosht, chicken karahi, butter chicken, seekh kabab, and bihari kabab. fried chicken wings and chicken soup. The food was really good but not wow. I liked how they were more not overly spicy and wish the portions were more. The Naan was freshly made and very soft and tasty.

One of the worst places to eat Indian food or any food at all.
1) Food was stale
2) More than 10 people in the kitchen
3) Extremely dull ambience
4) Chicken tasted like 3 days old
5) They used the same chicken marination for all types of curry. ( even in biryani)
We were a group of 5 people and everyone puked on their way home, the food was that bad.

This place is a must. A must try. I am not big on trying new foods but I opened up to trying this since exploring a new changes! I’ve been twice now and from the seacoast area.

I ordered goat kacchi biryani for takeout, but what we received was not Kacchi biryani at all. They mixed goat kabab with uncooked basmati rice!!! The rice was 50% cooked!! I would not recommend this to anyone.

I went there for the iftar dinner. Nice little combo platter. When it gets too spicy, you can just bite on the sweets that are included.
I like that they have plenty of parking spots.
Their haleem didn't taste like the haleem I was looking for. But then, the haleem I want is perhaps only found in Hyderabad, India.

The definition of comfort food! Took the masala chai, moghlai porotha <3 and the malai kebab! The kebab came with naan!
Would try out some other main course dishes when I visit again (def would)!

PS: hearing staff speak bangla here, my native tongue, is an added bonus! Feels comforting in a different way altogether! :)

Great authentic Indian buffet. It was just $16. The taste was so good.

One of the best restaurants around Boston area. The food tastes very delicious and flavorful with Authentic Indian taste. The staff is very welcoming and the owner’s hospitality is the best. The lunch buffet comes with a lot of options and resonable price. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I love Persian food and I have so many reasons to love this restaurant. Hear me out as I explain as a non-Persian diner (1) Their Ash reshteh, which is hard to come by, is yummy, comforting and very filling. (2) All of the kebabs and the meat are flavourful. Even something simple as a grilled chicken is beautifully seasoned. (3) They offer freshly brewed black tea and it’s delicious!!! Do yourself a favour and order it after your meal. (4) There’s Persian ice cream on the menu it’s delightful especially because of the rose & saffron flavour. Lots of pistachios on the outside & inside add texture. (5) There’s tahdig in the appetizer section. (6) Their baklava is fresh and crispy properly made with pistachios (not walnut!)

Very good choice for Portuguese food. We had the Octopus and Garlic Shrimp. Will have to come back and try out more dishes. Very nice decor, clean restaurant and friendly service from our server Kevin (thank you!) . Highly recommended.

Fresh and flavorful Persian grilled food! The salmon kabob had a nice sear. The borani (spinach, garlic, and yogurt) was creamy and delicious. The people were kind! The people were kind and the service was quick. Great casual spot for eat in or take out. We will be back!

I was visiting Boston for the first time from the UK and a friend of mine told me to head for The Phoenix Landing to watch Liverpool v Man City. Well, I have to say that this is probably one of the best bars in the world to watch a live football game. It was packed, but everyone was in great spirtits. There were a lot of big screens and TVs so watching the game was no problem at all and the staff behind the bar were fantastic. There's even an outside area. If you are a sports fan I cannot recomment this place enough. Also a massive thanks to LFC Boston who can usually be found there for most games.

We had the Mirza ghasemi, falafel plate, shrimp kabob and chicken kabob tasted out of the world :) Don’t forget to try their rich creamy Persian ice cream if you like pistachios.

A middle eastern gem in Cambridge!

This family run restaurant serves delicious Lebanese food, with the friendliest service. This family genuinely hosts you and takes pride in their food. And they should - the hummus is exceptional.

1st time here. Came with my family of 4. Tight quarters if you're going to dine in-very few tables. We ordered every combo plate so we could try all the different flavors. I haven't had Indian food in awhile and it was delicious! Came on a holiday (labor day) and this place is constantly busy-a good sign! Food was very good and flavorful. Served on authentic trays used in India, and so flavorful. Each bite is distinctive. Will definitely go back again when in the area!

Wife said the crabs were good. That's got to count for a lot at a crab place.

I would have liked my fish and chips a little more cooked. Personal taste.

This place has terrible service. There are no menus. All orders are online or at the self service window. Yet, they had what appeared to be wait staff come out to tell us all this. They could have just taken our order.

And it was easy to decide - very short menu.

We watched two couples come in, sit down, not get the explanation - or not like self service - and walk out. Oddest thing was that nobody seemed to care.

So I don't care to return.

Their rohu bhuna is top notch! However, their cooking isnt consistent. Went back the next day ordered same item, they served something different. Them i had to show the photo from previous night then they changed the food. Still miss their rohu bhuna!

First time at this Lebanese resto! Fresh and delicious! The sampler is an excellent starter. Filling and satisfying! Very friendly staff! Great customer service. Will stop by again on our next trip to Boston from Canada! 🥰👍🏻

Great bar with surprisingly cheap drinks, good music, and a chill, fun crowd. After ten or so the DJ starts up and the dance floor kicks off, but the tables up front are still quiet enough to talk with people and sit for a minute. I lost a sweatshirt here and a bartender found it and kept it for me for months. Awesome place. Pictured is my whisky pinapple which was pretty good.

This spot is a go-to for drinks after work. Lots of TVs around, plenty of bar and table seating. Bartenders are friendly. The Phoenix Burger was good. Too bad the NFL season ended so they have to put jeopardy on TV LOL

One of the worst food experiences I've ever had.

I ordered a Kabab that comes with "pita, salad and raita". I got 5 chunks of rubber with pita and... a collection of random vegetables that are completely raw and inedible as a "salad". I added with the meat and pita but I paid 17 dollars for something that should have cost 6-8 dollars. I am not exaggerating, my jaw HURT after chewing these pieces of meat.

Bathroom was sticky and dirty. Food was slow. Service was poor. And it appeared the owners were sitting at a table and just chilling out and eating food while we sat and waited half an hour for garbage food in a practically empty restaurant.

Honestly all of that was super disappointing but I would have just moved on and forgotten about it.

But my friend found a piece of either bone or porcelain in his pita about the size of a marble.

GLASS IN HIS PITA. HE WAS SERVED A PIECE OF GLASS IN HIS FOOD.

This place doesn't deserve a bad review. It should be shut down. I've found gum in my food at a restaurant before, and this experience was WORSE.

I have walked by this place many time and wondered about their foods. So last night I decided to go in. Nice environment. Clean bathroom. Delicious food. This is my first step in getting to know Mediterranean cuisines. So far so good. Give it a try.

Good place to have Bengali food in the Boston neighborhood. We had the ilish bhuna which was quite good. The malai kabab and kacchi biriyani are highly recommended.

I learned about this place when I asked my Indian colleagues about authentic Indian restaurants. His comment on it was “good food, poor environment”. Since I care more about the food quality, I still gave it a try today. To get a good sense of their food, I ordered a full combo including a special chicken curry platter, a samosa, a garlic nan, and a bottle of mango lassi. Overall, I think their food gives me what I expect from Indian cuisine: a rich favor of various species. Because the curry and nan were prepared ahead instead of cooked in real-time, they were a little cold when brought to my table, which somehow affected their taste. Yogurt came with the nan was too light. The red pepper pickle was very tasty, probably the one I like most out of combo. The potato stuffing of the samosa was delicious, but the coating was not crispy at all. Mango lassi had a smooth taste, but a little like artificial flavors.

Cash only. Keep it in mind although an ATM is close by.

To my surprise, the octopus was Special of the Day as it is not a regular menu item.

Hands down, this was a great choice. It was cooked to perfection...tender & tasty & paired perfectly with the red potatoes.

Let me be the first to say, I'm not a hard core Jazz aficionado. It started with a friend sharing Postmodern Jukebox almost 4 years ago. While I didn't like every cover they put out, I kept watching. In September of 2016 they debuted a new cover of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". The featured singer was a Swedish national treasure, jazz multi-instrumentalist Gunhild Carling. I was blown away by her energy, and being able to play so any different musical Instruments, and sing to boot. Weeks later, she was featured again, covering Madonna's "Material Girl", singing, playing trombone, and tap dancing. I was hooked, and started following her and her equally talented family shortly thereafter.
While most of her touring was elsewhere in the world, she did occasionally have dates in the United States. I can't travel far for a variety of reasons, so even going to New York where she performed most frequently was out. Only something close to the South Shore area was feasible. With her increased fame from her PMJ covers, as well as her weekly stream from her former residence in Stockomollan, Sweden, she began to perform more frequently in the US.
In the summer of 2018 she announced a variety of tour dates for the middle of November. One of those dates was the 14th, at Regattabar in Cambridge, located in the Charles Hotel. I ordered a ticket a couple months in advance, the pricing wasn't bad. Other than evening commuter traffic going into and out of Boston, it wasn't hard to get to. It took about an hour to get there from the South Shore. If you plan on coming here, use Google Maps to get directions and input the time you plan on leaving, that way you will get an accurate gauge of how long it will take to get here. Parking was very easy, it was in the hotel's own parking garage, Regattabar will validate your ticket for a buck or two off. For parking, drive all the way around the garage until you find the elevators, there seemed to be ample spaces right around there.
I arrived early, doors actually opened 1/4 of 7 for the 7:30 showtime. Seating is randomly assigned, I guess according to when you bought your ticket, so I had a good seat in the front row to the left of the stage. It's a big room, seating take up about a 1/3 of it around the stage area, behind it is an open floor for dancing.
The waiter greeted me almost right away, and I ordered a drink. I will say the drink seemed to have like a lead or graphite taste to it, but was passable. The show started right on time, Ms. Carling was backed up by New York based musicians Dave Post on bass, Matt Baker on piano, and Daniel Glass on drums. Let me tell you, if you have never seen Gunhild perform in person, go do it already. She is an amazing, friendly performer. I knew she would be better to see in person, but I was totally blown away. She did an hour and a half set that night.
Overall, this was my first time at a jazz club, and it was a positive experience. The size of the room is great, with windows to look outside over-viewing Bennett St. The acoustics of the room were fantastic, the volume of the mics wasn't too loud, it wasn't too hot or too cold either. The lighting in the room set the mood well. Other than the drink issue, the chairs at the tables were a tad uncomfortable. Not much cushioning, and too upright for me. Other than that, a very enjoyable experience.
7/4/2019 EDIT: I went to Regattabar on 6/20 to see Gunhild Carling perform again, simply amazing. Other than that, I did order a drink again, this time it didn't taste funny. The chairs are the same uncomfortable ones from last time. Even still, I had a front row seat, the earlier you buy a ticket, the better the seat you get.
11/23/2022 EDIT: I'm not sure what's going on, but Regattabar closed 3/2020 as a result of the pandemic, but where the majority of venues have already reopened, this venue strangely has not. The website simply displays "Regattabar is temporarily closed due to Covid-19 until further notice.". I would hope they eventually reopen, but over 2 years later it does not appear so.

It's a frustrating place to hear good music. Why can't the people of Cambridge be accommodating? So many make-believe rules. Parking, bicycling, table assignments written in stone.... They assign you a table, unknown to you, before you get to the concert door. We met another couple and wanted to sit with them but the hostess forbid it. We should have bought tickets together but we weren't sure of our schedules. All 4 of us were early and neither of our tables, which hold 4 people had the other two seats taken. A small accommodation would have made all the deference. It put a damper on the night. The best part of which was the great snow fall we were treated to when we got outside.

The seafood dishes at Casa Portugal are especially good. The fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked, and the shellfish are plump and juicy. The meat dishes are also excellent, and the stews are particularly flavorful.

The wine list at Casa Portugal features a wide selection of Portuguese wines, from light and refreshing whites to bold and full-bodied reds. The staff is knowledgeable about the wines and can help you choose the perfect pairing for your meal.

Overall, Casa Portugal is a great option for anyone looking for authentic Portuguese food at a reasonable price. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food and wine are excellent I definitely recommend this restaurant.
