Delicious food and amazing local atmosphere
Eine wunderschöne Osteria. Sind zufällig vorbeigefahren und hatten dann Glück, den letzten freien Tisch zu bekommen. Service Super, tolles Ambiente, authentisches und sehr gutes Essen. Als Tourist ist man fast ausschließlich unter einheimischen, also quasi für Touris ein guter Tipp, wo man traditionell und sehr gut Essen gehen kann!

Wir haben sehr lecker gegessen. Allerdings ist die Karte sehr fleischlastig. Wir hatten Ravioli und Hähnchen mit Caesarsalat. Sehr gut mit freundlichem Service.

Visited last Sept after wandering Città Alta on our last few hours in Bergamo, didn't have a booking and the restaurant was busy but they still found us an amazing table on the terrace with the most beautiful view. Staff were all attentive and friendly, and the menu was really reasonable considering the food was amazing!
Lovely spot in Bergamo Alta with such a stunning terrace with a view. Delicious local specialities and fair prices. Must to try are the typical meat and cheese platter and casoncelli. There are also super good vegetarian options. Excellent service and kind staff. Highly recommended :)
A lovely place - it was recommended by the owner of the apartment where we stayed during our 4-day stay in Bergamo. And since this visit I regularly eat polenta for dinner =)
What an absolute feast for the mouth!
I had tried to enjoy the food at la Scagna on my first day in Bergamo but the place was sold out for that night and the following lunch. Luckily I could visit it a few days later before leaving Bergamo.
The casoncelli were superb. A wholesome taste that was worth the trip I did from a near town.
The polenta taragna was delicious and incredibly rich.
I love strong tastes but I found the wild boar to be maybe even too strong.
The beer from a local brewery was a great match for the food.
I wish I could have been able to eat also dessert but unfortunately it was not the right night for me.
I found the personnel to be extremely kind. They also helped me in any way when on my way out I bumped into problems finding a taxi.
Definitely a place where I want to come back when in the area!

Rather busy restaurant with many small dishes. The taste of the dishes are not what you expect from an authentic Italian restaurant. It was rather tasteless and dis not carry the Brand as its a very old restaurant. The chef need to rethink and make some changes. Looks like that he has given up to create tastefull dishes. The place is extremely noisy.
The staff was very impolite, they made me feel very uncomfortable.
I don't want to judge food because the feeling was so bad that it made me feel sick and disgusted.
Maybe I'll try this place again in the future, I hope to change my review.

Food, staff, everything was fantastic, will book again if I come back to Bergamo, need to book ahead. Also very reasonable and good portions.

If you can live with the consequences of potentially getting a parking ticket as there’s nowhere to park, Trattoria Parietti will deliver the most glorious of them Bergamaschi dinners/lunches for you.
Wonderful staff, cosy atmosphere and delicious food that left me hungry for even more of their menu (despite the food coma I was in).

If you're looking for a refined place where to eat emotive twangs on traditional recipes, look no further. This place has a mesmerising take on northerner and southerner Italian cuisine. Everything is very curated and the food is spectacular.
The antipasto was sublime: a mix of flavours and traditions done with artful dedication. I loved the gazpacho shot done with two different textures of tomato, and even more the traditional siciliana caponata enclosed in chocolate and hazelnuts. Delicious.
The Traditional Taragna was very interesting and tasty, a mix of local cheese and some saged butter to die for it gets served by an amazing handmade salame. The bread, done with a traditional siciliana flour, could be considered a plate by itself so flavourful it was.

Beautiful restaurant incredible service and hands down the best dessert I’ve ever had
Too pricey for what you get: nice food presentation, but mostly smoke in the eyes. Service was very attentive and high standard for sure, but felt a bit too much. Starters were ok but very poor portion. The famous casoncelli -supposed to be the signature dish - were drowning in butter. Yak!

Insanely good food with a homey atmosphere. Our waitress, a young lady was the perfect waitress - attentive and focused, always around but not overwhelming. There was an owner as well, who was king enough to ask how everything was tasting. If we are back in Bergamo, we will visit again!
Very warm and welcoming place to get extremely delicious food in Bergamo. Staff were really helpful and kind, food was DELICIOUS and prices quite reasonable.
If you’re there for lunch I strongly suggest you get the lunch menu - great variants of pasta and main courses, water and a glass of wine and the price is perfect.

On the plus side: a nice restaurant in the middle and pleasant staff, good wine. Cons: 1. There was a lot of fat in the steak, we didn't know about it, and we weren't warned, so we didn't like it. 2. This is the first pasta we try in Italy, and unfortunately we didn't like it either, although we were sure that it is incredible everywhere here. But I would never want to order one again. 3. Even such a small thing as a table that wobbled is not very pleasant.

Delicious meal, come from United States & after research made reservations months in advance. Place was packed with ppl. Food was Fabulous & Service as well. Polenta was Super Fabulous. Definitely a place for the books. Mix cheese perfect! Go to this establishment to experience Quality Food
The food was amazing. The best pasta I’ve ever had. The lady that served us was so nice, despite the language barrier, and it really helped. And the atmosphere, sensational! From the dimmed lights and glass of champagne on the house to the music and looks of the restaurant, very well put together. We felt like home! Recommend 100%🥰
We went to that area to visit Donizetti house which was closed at the time and we discovered this restaurant where we had a beautiful lunch. We had Casoncelli alla bergamasca and Foiade con funghi with the house wine. All delicious and the view on the terrace was amazing.

We really enjoined our meals here. The atmosphere was amazing and the service exquisite. I've had one of the best desserts - bread butter and milk. I also loved the mutton and chicken, but all the dishes were amazing.
Went for a family dinner. Service and food was really good. I particularly liked the risotto with porcini. The desserts were absolutely fantastic. The place is a bit off from the center but it’s worth it going there.

Have been at this place twice, once for family lunch and once dinner with the guys. In both occations the food was fantastic and the service equaly good. Very good wine list as well so worth a visit! Small place so do reserve well in advance!
After reading some good recommendations of this place, we went for lunch a Saturday afternoon. There were plenty of space when we arrived. We received a warm welcome from the waiter, who spoke good English language. We both had the beef tatar and the famous pasta dish from the region Casoncelli. Both dishes were served quickly and were both wonderful. All in all a very good experience and we can really recommend the place.
The restaurant was very welcoming to all people, especially 2 English ladies like us . The staff are very friendly and accommodating and it is a fantastic place away from crowds to try local cuisine
Went out of our way, arrived at noon as advertised as opening for lunch only to wait around for it to not even open. Both Google maps and the sign posted to the door showed it opened for lunch. Very disappointing
Very atmospheric restaurants on the outskirts of Bergamo. The owners are very friendly and the food delicious. We ordered two Parmigianas and a salad and couldn’t finish all the food because the portions were humongous!! The restaurant has a cozy, family style and gets very lively during dinner. Recommended!
The food was excellent; we understood that Italian food is not only about pizza or pasta. The service was fast. Fantastic desserts- especially the cheesecake!

Absolutely incredible restaurant, with a great concept. You can choose between a complete menu (2 dishes) or a simple menu (1 dish) for a very reasonable price - 25 and 22 from what I remember. You have water, 1/4 of house wine and desert included. Also, there is a huge salad bar and you can serve yourself however often you like.
The food is very tasty, traditional and the service is super fast.

This is a fun crazy place with a mid week special lunch deal. Food was good and well priced. €12 for the complete menu and €10 for just a first course. Free salad bar is included and possibly the wine too. It was hot and steamy under the tent shades but the whole town was stifling.
Lived next to the restaurant for 5 months and the owner noted us, always greeted us and invited us for dinner. On summer evenings they have an amazing terrace with cozy atmosphere and ambience. Besides this, the food was wonderful! Must try the traditional casoncelli when in Bergamo and the gnocchi was so delicious! Felt like family and would recommend to everyone

Only downside is that the tables are quite close to each other so it doesn't lend itself a whole lot to a romantic atmosphere, especially with noisy Italians but that is a small detail. For the quantity of customers they serve they haven't lost an quality

We had a wine tasting here today and this was top quality wines, paired with great charcuterie platter, and an amazing service. Katerina made us feel very special, and we tried some great wines from Tuscany. Strongly recommend!

Stellar service, incredible and creative food, and a wonderful element of storytelling that really immerses you in the journey of the food served. A must in Bergamo. We will definitely return

We had a very romantic dinner. I had ragú ravioli and it was fantastic. Good wine menu too. They were very kind and ordered a rose for us to make it special

Beautiful and charismatic Italian restaurant that left quite an impression on me. The traditional Italian food served there was simply outstanding, and my companions and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. What really stood out to us was the friendliness of the staff, who took the time to explain all of the dishes we ordered. It was clear that they were passionate about the food they served, and their enthusiasm only added to the wonderful atmosphere of the restaurant. All in all, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Italian cuisine and a welcoming, charming atmosphere
Went for dinner with 4 friends on Thursday night. It was a fantastic experience. We paid €25 for a menu completo: primo (pasta course), secondo (meat course), access to a salad/sides buffet, water, wine and dessert. Incredible value for money. The casoncelli was some of the best I've ever tasted, and the beef with olio verde was so tender. The salad bar had some delicious oven cooked potatoes and lots of fresh vegetables and olives. Tiramisu was delicious. Will definitley be returning due to the food, service and decor.
Da Giuliana is a traditional place in Bergamo that you should know. The menu changes every day but everything is delicious. I recommend arriving early to lunch because they usually have a big line to be seated.

Wonderful local restaurant! We walked in on Saturday afternoon and managed to get a table in the side room. It’s very cute and local, great atmosphere with lots of local customers. Menu doesn’t offer English but you can ask the servers (they speak some English).
Food was excellent! Great appetizers, polenta was tasty. Ragu pasta and pork with mushrooms were both delicious.

Crazy, chaotic and richly decorated restaurant. Everywhere you look, you see something new that catches your eye. It is a joy to have dinner here! There is a set menu for €25, which includes three courses, a salad bar, wine and coffee. Good deal and the food was good as well, especially the gnocchi with gorgonzola. The restaurant seems to be famous in Bergamo and I understand why!

Authentic local cuisine at really affordable prices. The outside seating has an incredible view, inside tables still in a lovely and cosy atmosphere. Best dinner we had in Bergamo. Making a reservation is advised.
Delicious Casoncelli ! We stayed nearby and every day we saw that the majority of tables outside (or maybe even all of them) were taken. We were confused because both (Dal Carlo and Bar Basket) turned out to be the same place :) The outside garden is very cosy, service - we have waited very long time to order food, but I understand that since it was very crowdy. I must add that we were able to order (and receive) drinks almost immediately after we sat at the table. I recommend this place

Beautiful place with amazing view. The meals and taste given are also amazing. Staff friendly and very helpful. The only thing that should be change is an air con in a room. When around 30 guest are seating it is getting to hot.
Great fixed priced lunch/dinner service, which includes first and second plate (multiple selections on both), self service salad, dessert, table wine and water. A lot of locals are coming here also, which already says a lot.

The worst food that i have in Italy! The pasta dish was so small and we pay 15 euro per dish. Not recommended 😕
What a wonderful place ❤️ - and wonderful food and service! When you step in here, you are welcomed by people who know how to make a great evening for their guests. Everything was absolutely perfect and we enjoyed it the whole time. Are you visiting Bergamo, you will never agret spending your time and having a dinner at this place ❤️

Piacevole scoperta di questo ristorante che è all’interno dell’albergo dove alloggiavamo. Molto pulito e personale gentile. Piatti non abbondanti ma molto buoni. Abbiamo anche preso l’aperitivo nel dehor fuori prima di iniziare

After searching for a good tiramisu after our dinner elsewhere, we ended up here just 30 minutes before closing.
The waiters seemed a little confused but sat us at a table anyway.
Now this was a good tiramisu (7 eur) but it was mostly the creamy part of it and lacked some structural integrity. Overall very tasty but I can't say it was amazing.

Wow, I thought the owner's response would be something like: "Of course, you were not allowed to enter, you were wearing birkenstock sandals and carrying a backpack. This is just not fancy enough for us". I mean, the guy at the door definitely looked at my feet before kicking us out--very politely like I said.
But, no, the owner chose to lie straight on! So here's a little bit more detail of what happened.
We (I and my wife) arrived in Bergamo around lunch time. It was our last day in Italy, before flying back to Germany, where we live. We were looking forward to have a nice goodbye meal. We found this place online. It had great reviews. I called them, asked if they might have a last minute table available to us. They said they did and that we could just come by.
We got to the establishment and were about to enter, as a very well-dressed gentlemen, who could see us through the glass entrance, came to the door. We identified ourselves as the couple that had just called them about the table. Blocking the entrance with his body, he checked us out, seemingly did not enjoy our backpacker's appearance, and said something like: "yes, but we have a dresscode here".
Weirdly enough, their website does not mention a dresscode. If you are going to judge people's appearance and looks, you should at least state clearly what you expect them to wear to please you: can men wear sandals? are backpacks of poor taste? What do you want from us?

We got to the establishment and were about to enter, as a very well-dressed gentlemen, who could see us through the glass entrance, came to the door. We identified ourselves as the couple that had just called them about the table. Blocking the entrance with his body, he checked us out, seemingly did not enjoy our backpacker's appearance, and said something like: "yes, but we have a dresscode here".
Weirdly enough, their website does not mention a dresscode. If you are going to judge people's appearance and looks, you should at least state clearly what you expect them to wear to please you: can men wear sandals? are backpacks of poor taste? What do you want from us?
The location in Bergamo is average, but the interior is carefully chosen. We visited the restaurant as a family of six. The Italian cuisine is local, very tasteful and beautifully presented. We enjoyed the traditional menu (5-courses with the restaurant signature dish - pasta). The service is very friendly and helpful. The pice is little above average, but justified by the quality & creativity of the dishes we had.

The best meal and service during our whole stay in Italy! We visited the restaurant at our last day in Bergamo and it was such a lovely ending to our stay, the food, the atmosphere, the service- everything is 1000 out of 10! Also special thanks to Giuseppe!

Small typical Bergamo trattoria. A family-run establishment with simple Mise en place and genuine service. Plentiful and good quality dishes. We chose Casi Celli (a quality of elongated ravioli with meat filling) with melted butter as a first course. As a second course a typical meat stew with polenta ... a "must" in Bergamo. Tasty! To water the whole house red wine, simple, light. The only drawback: the place is among the noisiest I've ever visited ... but with the food it was forgiven.
Good restaurant serving mostly typical Bergamo food and some extras. Casoncelli were nice, and rabbit was also worth it. They have also some fish courses, but I never tried them. Relaxed and informal atmosphere with friendly staff. Not pricey neither cheap. Adequate choice of wines.
What an amazing restaurant. This is a revisited Osteria or Bergamo. One of the best I've ever experienced! I had this delicious plate of Casoncelli plus the Tiramisù as a dessert like I never ate before. Highly recommend for every occasion. Is a romantic place, is a formal place, is a place where you can bring your friends or colleagues to make a good impression. You won't retreat to go there. 10stars
I love the restaurant, it's a small place but they're very accommodating. We booked for 8 but for some reason we became 10, yet they were able to make us happy. I really appreciate their gesture. Hopefully to visit again with my bf. The food was really nice and much more fair with the price.
Italian movie like dining! This place has an hidden place where you can sit outside between the greens. Food was delicious. I really enjoyed the antipasti selection that came with the wine, the Risotto and the beef tartar!

1. We had to wait over 40 minutes to order drinks and food and after traveling many hours that's really annoying.
2. We ordered wheat beer and had to drink it from a red wine glass. That's actually a no go. It would be the same to drink a expensive red wine from a plastic cup.

Great experience ! Very creative and delicious cuisine with the best local ingredients (polenta is the specialty). The best latte macchiato ever, where you can pour yourself the coffee in the milk. Service was a bit chaotic but they all were very nice and helpful (help with the wine choice as well). Quiet terrace available at the back (you don't see it from the entrance). If you want a 5 stars meal while in Bergamo, this is the place to go.
Really authentic Italian restaurant on a side street we would never found without recomendation. Fantastic food and every affordable prices! Nice staff who helped me to translate menu in English. Great find! If I ever come back to Bergamo! I will come back 100%.
Great atmosphete. Good food and the owner and waiters are all very friendly. Always have a great time at this restaurant.
This place is amazing. Best and cheapest meal we have had in Italy. Plus they were super nice to our kids (1 and 3) and even brought them ice and bandaid when my son was running on the sidewalk and fell. Recommend the mixed grill and the antipasto (pictured). They have an English version of the menu but no one speaks english, all Italien locals eating here. Be aware the name is slightly different from what's in google, just look for "borgo" and you will find it.
Conveniently located if you come from the airport and are after a meal with a good sample of local specialties. We tried a number of dishes and everything was surely above expectations. The ones in the pictures are sheep meatballs with broccoli and aioli, and rabbit with polenta, both fantastic. The wine list is also very good.

Overall, the Fricca was ok, but nothing more. We paid 200€ for a full dinner of 4 with two kids. Thats a lot for Italy, and for this money I would expect top quality food and service. The meat was excellent, the side (polenta) was tasteless. Also the deserts were just ok: The apple pie was not really tasty and the chocolate with ron was just cheap black supermarket chocolate. The service was also ok: Not unfriendly, but also not warm or welcoming. Overall, for this price, we left kind of bummed.
