We got the Kofta Kabob. It was great portions. Came with fresh bread and some hot salsa. Total was $21 and easily fed 2 people. Great flavour and fresh off the grill. Will definitely come back.

It was a wonderful experience, we tried a lot of different dishes but the lamb shank stood out the most, it literally melted in my mouth, it was so soft and yummy 😋. Everything was quite balanced and had a great flavour. The wings, mantu and the lamb shank are especially the showstoppers. Really really good.

The atmosphere was really nice too, it's a good place to go with family and have a good time. The staff is really friendly and they seem to enjoy what they are doing. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Food is excellent and portions are great for the price. We ordered the chicken combo for 2 and it was more than sufficient for me, my spouse and 4 kids and even had to take a to go box. The restaurant is clean and the customer service is okay. Definitely would recommend. This is our 3rd time in Toronto and we always have to stop at this restaurant because they never disappoint.

Great place
This was my first time here and my first time eating Afghan food. It was a great experience. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is great and portions are big. The prices are fair. I recommend everyone checking this place out.

The food is the highlight- it’s fresh and tasty. The ambience is great too if you plan on dining in. The staff are polite but they could be more attentive.

Got the chicken and beef plate. Meat was very tender, portions are huge! And they gave a side of their flat bread very warm and fresh. Good quality afghan food for a decent price. I was so full after and satisfied.

Lamb was slightly dry. Mound of rice with meat is very lacking a side salad. it should be included like all the other dishes.

One did not know the other gave me the impression that it is Ontario lamb which taste great usually, I believe that this was either not fresh or Australian lamb

I recommend that the owner tell the staff about the type of meet they use
The rice was 100% authentic and was perfect 6/5

So over all I would not recommend this unless I get some explanation for unpleasant experience

We ordered combo number 4 and small order of mantu ll. The food was delicious and they provided great service it’s a great place to eat Afghan food with some authentic flavours.

Excellent restaurant with a really lovely staff. The quality of the food is top notch. I'd say the cocktails (which were good but not great) are the only thing that stops me from giving the restaurant a full grade, but I'd highly recommend this place to anyone regardless.

Just had an amazing meal the other day and felt like I had to spread the word. The lamb shank was something else - so tender, it nearly melted away at the slightest touch. And the rice? Mixed with carrots and raisins, it hit the perfect note of sweet and savory.

Tried something called Mantu too, which are these dumplings that absolutely knocked my socks off. Delicious doesn’t even start to cover it.

The place has this cool vibe that’s all about great food and making you feel welcome. The staff are the kind of people you’d want to hang out with, and the whole experience just felt like home. It’s spots like this that really put our local dining scene on the map. Can’t wait to head back and try everything else they’ve got cooking.

Today I had an amazingly delicious brunch at this restaurant! Apparently they just started offering a brunch menu yesterday. Me and my wife ordered brunch for two platter and were blown away by every single dish we got! The amount of food we got was huge and in my opinion very reasonably priced. I literally wanted to lick the plates clean because of how good they were. We already had the opportunity to taste their lunch and dinner menus before (which were also amazing!) and now we'll be going here for brunch a lot more often. 10 out of 10, definitely recommend this place!

Incredible experience! The hospitality here is amazing. I spilled my drink and folks came by and took care of it so quickly I was rather embarrassed and they were lovely about it. We were a party of 6 and ordered the following: Darna sampler, Arnabeet, Halloumi ,Fattet, Batenjan, Lavraki, Ontario Lamb, Kufta Warak Enab and Kunafa (without nut because our friend had a nut allergy). Happy to return and try more dishes!

Naan Kabob does something special with their spices and ingredients that just makes everything incredible- I could just eat a bowl of their rice alone. Staff, service, food and presentation is all exceptional. I wish I could give this location an award. It's remarkable.

The service and the drinks were really good!

However, as for me it was very noisy. Also, the coleslaw was a real bummer, it did not taste fresh, on the contrary, it tasted sour, but like bad sour, as if it was about to go bad. And apparently it was mixed together with the fresh batch. Did not feel good after that.

A friend of mine picked for us to have dinner at Darna in order to support a Palestinian business and for a “cultural” experience. However it’s unclear the ethnic background of the restaurant (menus and website say Middle Eastern and our host told us the chef is Syrian). The food was overall pretty good. We ordered the Warak Enab and Darna Sampler to share. I found the Warak Enab to be too soft for my liking but I think it’s still worth a try if you haven’t had anything like it before. For my main I ordered the Lamb Fukhara which was served out of a clay pot table side. The dish was really hearty and is nice on a cold day. I did find the lamb to be little tough but the flavours were still very good. I opted for both Bulgur and Rice which was a nice option. Our server was very attentive and patient with all of our questions. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend checking out for yourself!

I also tried the steak, it was alright, but I’m just normally not a fan of steak! So not the restaurant, just me!

I've been going to this restaurant for years. The food is always great. They have a new menu item which is lamb shank and I'll try that next. I felt like tandori chicken kabob dinner, so I ordered that. There's a counter where you order your food and then grab a table and wait until they call your number. It's quite busy at times. While I was there, they made an effort to keep the garbage area clean and also the tables.

Good Food, But Hype Overshadows Expectation

There's no denying that the menu at Naan Kabob boasts an array of enticing dishes. We ordered the eggplant borani, bolanee, kabob lover platter and various drinks.

The presentation is commendable, and the flavours, while good, lacked the wow factor and didn't quite live up to the tall expectations set by the restaurant's reviews.

Overall, it's a reliable choice for a good meal, but the exaggerated praise might raise expectations beyond what it actually delivers.

I tried veggie food from the menu and found it well prepared. Staff are young, experienced, fast, and friendly. There are some limited halal options that I did not try. We set to dine in the second floor. The atmosphere is nice with natural light. Since I was a guest of an event here, I cannot comment on pricing, but my guess is that prices are above average. Need to mention washroom is in the below ground floor, which makes it difficult for elderly or people with mobility issue go there. I found this place, photography friendly, but for sure, the event's gathering gave me extra freedom to take more pictures. If I did not have a challenge for parking, I would rate here 5-star.

We had to wait for 30 minutes last night even though the lady said it would be ready in 15 minutes.
I asked her for additional Sumac and she said she put some in the bags. I didn't find any when I got home.

This place is a gem in the heart of Toronto. You’ll get authentic and delicious Middle Eastern and Palestinian cuisine with good service and environment. From starter to main course to dessert you’ll enjoy every bite of their food. I must mention all their meats are Halal too. I’ll definitely go again and must try for those who are looking for authentic food.

Tonight we dined at this restaurant and had a delightful experience.
I ordered the Beef lover platter, the Shami Kabob and Chapli Peshawari truly stood out with their delightful combination of flavors and the perfect level of spiciness. On the downside, the Tikka Kabob was a bit dry, but the overall variety and taste made up for it. The eggplant borani was really tasty. Additionally, Mr. David Najafian’s welcoming and friendly demeanor added a personal touch to the evening.

This place is great. The establishment is very clean and the service was professional. Of course the highlight was the food. The lamb and chicken tandoori were delicious and I was left completely stuffed! I think the lunch specials are also very reasonable considering how expensive everything is these days. Lastly, even the rice and naan very tasty. Definitely recommend!

The service was great where I felt bad for not tipping because I wasn't expecting table service.
I ordered the Chicken Lover meal and there was a lot of take out & deliveries which is why my food ended up being lukewarm at best and the meat was a bit dry.
I would recommend the Yonge & Bloor location if you don't mind the drive

Great kabob place, nice decor, clean, quick, reasonably priced and delicious. Free parking behind the building, recommended if you're in the mood for something different, especially if you've never tried Afghan food before.

I’ve been coming to Local Leaside since they opened. Love this location because it’s personal and intimate compared to the downtown location. The food is incredible and the servers are the friendliest.

What an impressive little diner! This is the second time I’ve come and it was just to grab something quick (because they really do move fast here - without compromising on taste or quality). That being said, I decided to sit-in. The atmosphere is so warm. I won’t say the place itself is super impressive, but it is very clean and above all, the feeling of family and a close-knit community is clear. I’m not sure how many hugs I witnessed from the time I walked in to the time I left - but it put several smiles on my face. The gentleman who has greeted me on both occasions now, is friendly, personable and clearly goes above and beyond for his clientele. I’ve overheard him with his return clients and there is a clear sense that he knows how to keep good patrons coming back for more. I will definitely be stopping here again and again, and hope to bring my family next time. Definitely a place where you can bring your kids. Located in a charming renovated old building this location gives some extra character to the neighbourhood. We went the other day for lunch and we had great service. The food came in a timely manner and the waiter who attended us was very sweet. We order a veggie burger and some eggs Benedict. Both were very good. Apart of the cocktails we got some complementary tea that I totally want to order next time I visiting.

One of the food staples in the Toronto region and has been for years a must go to everytime I'm in the area. I always like to go to the first location they opened on overlea Blvd. It has been 4 years since I had Bamiyan kabob and here is my review based on my last visit on August 1st. For a party of 4, we ordered 2 sultani kabob, 1 tandoori Chicken and chicken kabob plates. The bread was OK and it did not feel fresh as I remember it. The food was delicious and the rice was cooked to perfection. The only thing that I did not like was the meat tenderloin pieces that comes with the sultai plate, thebpieces were not tender and chew. Another thing that noticed was thatvthe tables were not cleaned right away after the clients left and I had to stare at couple of dirty tables while eating. This place used to be immaculate before. Will try again in few months and report back with a follow up.

Wow, wow, wow! This was hands down one of the best restaurant experiences we've ever had in Toronto. Everything was perfect from start to finish, from the food, to the service to the atmosphere itself.

When we walked in, we were greeted by Kat, who let us try their Aperol Spritz cocktails. They were so tasty and she was so friendly with us right from the bat!

We then sat down and were waited on by Sushi, who was probably one of the nicest and best servers we've ever had. She recommended dishes to us, was prompt and friendly the whole time and it was just such a great experience.

We started with the shrimp dumplings and they were literally unreal. Bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection, they tasted amazing and we could have ordered loads of them! We then all tried the crispy chicken sandwich, ahi tuna bowl and chicken curry bowl between us and oh my gosh, everything was delicious.

We couldn't have had a better experience and can't wait to go back! Thank you so much!! :)

One of our meals came with lima beans that they put all together in one container with the fried calamari. Soggy calamari is not appetizing!

Ordered catering from this restaurant. Excellent service over the phone, the attendant was efficient, knowledgeable and really gave me a good feeling about the place. We has also nice when I called after for a change.
Food was ready on time (even though it was before their opening time) and everyone was very nice in person as well.
Food was delicious, pork was cooked beautifully and our Greek friend wouldn't stop praising the potatoes. 100% recommended and will definitely be back for dining in.

The food was ok pretty expensive for what I got. 27 bucks for a chickens dinner and a pop. When I went to eat on the patio at least 3 tables had the food still sitting there. I eat for 30+ minutes they walked by the plates at least 10 mins no one attempted to clean it. Very disappointing as I had high hopes and was recommended

First time here, giving this a definite 5 across the board. I am amazed how many people work here. Besides that the food was really good the waitress (awsome hair by the way) working there new the menu and was knowledgeable with the products. Unfortunately, my visit was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. The service was slow and uninterested, but the food was great however I was extremely disappointed with the staff as he said to my husband that I am his friend as she says that I am wearing my wedding ring. The atmosphere was also not as pleasant.

In either case:
I believe that addressing these issues could greatly improve the overall experience for future customers. I recommend the food but not the staff was rude luck of knowledge to judge people right the way either husband or wife nor boyfriend or girlfriend. This is only the reason I gave 2starts .

The staff ordered the the moussaka with vegetables and pasta, and was given pasta with beans.

They didn't like that the moussaka was sitting in the sauce of the beans and didn't order beans 2/5

Other staff was upset with the way the food was packed in the containers. Deep fried calamari should have been packaged in a paper bag instead of on top of moist rice and moist pasta. They gave it a 1/5.

Other staff ordered fries as a side, came soggy. Again package separately, preferably in a paper bag. Fries were not crunchy.

I enjoyed my grilled Calamari with potatoes and rice.

The food was just okay, not that memorable. The calamari was just sitting in oil and got soggy. The chicken itself was pretty tender and well seasoned. There didn’t seem to be any seating inside the restaurant, just looked like they had their covered patio opened. It was pretty chilly in there, but we needed to eat at the restaurant as we were headed to a concert at Scotiabank arena. Wish they added more olives to their salad, one isn’t enough.

The meat was perfect, and the half chicken kabab was soo nice we loved the seasoning, it was perfectly seasoned. The pulav was great as well, you can eat as it is without any sides. Their mango smoothie was good but not great, maybe because I’m not a smoothie person so try it out if u are a smoothie person!! It’s made out of fresh mangoes.

The food was just okay, but to be honest I was a little disappointed. Ordered a small greek salad, it was okay as far as greek salads go. Also ordered the tirokefteri dip which was really good and they gave you a generous amount of pita. My disappointment came from the $8 greek fries, they were like very dry and cold, like cardboard and there was not a lot of feta, I expected better for that price. My boyfriend was also disappointed by the pork gyro dinner, the meat was also dry and tough, the potatoes and rice were fine though. Overall some pros and cons but for the price not sure I would return sadly.
