Visited broadbeach gold coast hwy. not authentic japanese food. The "mayo" was a jelly subtance i thought was going to be atleast kewpie. The katsu chicken was the thinnest slice of chicken it was mainly crumbs. The rice was clumps i couldn't break it apart. Im assuming the previous were japanese and its been sold onto new owners that are not japanese?
We ordered two Bento sets that came out cold, the rice was dry and barely warm, the miso was also luke warm and the main dish was cold. The staff are lovely but the food was definitely not the standard we are used too at a Kamikaze restaurant. Very disappointed as our usual birthday treat for my mum fell a bit flat with this one...
For the cost we would have been better off going elsewhere.

Fake Japanese food prepared by all Phillipino staff. I waited over 20 minutes. When many people who ordered after me had already been given their food I asked what the problem was & was informed it was because I ordered 2 meals. At that point I demanded my money back & left. Very disappointing, poor service. I do not recommend, especially if you are ordering more than one meal apparently...

Loved the ambience and the vibe of the place. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was next level delicious and filling. 100/100 recommended
Whenever we visit from Melbourne we love visiting On Fire to have nice chargrilled meat. Well we returned to this restaurant after 1 year and I believe it has changed owners. Let’s start with service, it was good with staff being super attentive, the gentleman at the bar was constantly on his phone which was not a good look so I hope it was related to reservations, if it wasnt maybe consider doing it out of site of guests. Now the food, we ordered the shared platter. Food arrived on time and it was hit and miss, chicken was pink and undercooked, meat was overcooked, sausage was good. Both meat and chicken lacked seasoning which was super disappointing. Overall we will not be retuning to this restaurant which is a shame. Please speak with the chef to think about seasoning and that should go along way.

This place has the BEST lamb souvlaki I have ever had 🤤. I've had both their traditional and chip lamb souvlakis and both were amazing, though I have a slight preference towards the chip version as it has honey mustard.

Their chips are also pretty dang good, and come with some form of dipping sauce at not extra cost which is always nice 🙂
Celebrated my birthday at On Fire with my family last night, and it was amazing. We had the meat platter and seafood platter, it was really tasty and great value. The service is impeccable. Big thanks for the team!👏

Inexpensive, quick and simple meals. We were there before 6pm, our 4 dishes came out quickly. The ebi prawn katsu was delicious, as was the teriyaki chicken! For the price you pay, don't expect large servings.

Paying $80 for 1 main meal, 1 salad, and 2 drinks is not good value for money. Waiting for 40 minutes was not good either after queuing for 10 minutes to order. Roast lamb meal was tasty but the overall experience was not positive.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rumi in Gold Coast during my four-day trip, and I must say it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

The ambiance of the restaurant was charming and inviting, providing the perfect backdrop for an evening of culinary exploration. However, it was the food itself that truly stole the show. Every dish was a masterpiece of flavor, beautifully presented and expertly prepared. The variety on the menu ensured there was something to tantalize every palate, and I found myself eagerly sampling dishes I had never tried before.

What truly set Rumi apart, though, was the impeccable service. The waitstaff were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met. Their passion for the cuisine was evident in their recommendations and their genuine desire to make our dining experience memorable. They treated us very well, especially the restaurant manager and Amir, the very nice guy who took our order.

Having dined at various restaurants in Melbourne and Sydney, I can confidently say that Rumi surpasses them all. The quality, portion sizes, food design, and overall attention to detail were truly outstanding. I left Rumi feeling not only satisfied but truly impressed by the level of excellence they consistently deliver.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, I cannot recommend Rumi highly enough. Treat yourself to an unforgettable culinary journey at this gem of a restaurant in Gold Coast, you won't be disappointed!

This place used to be so good. A bustling vibe with workers and tourists digging into classic street food style pita with some beers. Unfortunately, it seems it has changed ownership. The meat seems to have dropped in quality. They now use way to much sauce and from that the pitas as oily, bland and below average. This wasn't a once off. I have tried this a few times now and it sad to see something that was so good go so bad. It is now overpriced and very average in quality. The table service has slowed down, leading to Ibis destroying the left over food from unhappy patrons.

I don't recommend Lamb Shop anymore. It lost its vibe, food quality and service.
Impressed with the attentive staff at this restaurant! I have a vinegar allergy, and when I inquired about the octopus and greek salad, they promptly checked with the kitchen and offered alternative options. Their proactive approach to accommodating dietary needs made my dining experience safe and enjoyable. Thumbs up for excellent customer service!

One of the best fish and chips food we’ve ever had. It was well cooked, quality food that all had a great crispy/crunchy bite, and the portion you get feels great for value. Chips were perfection. Good serving of sauce. My partner and I ordered an Urban Catch each — probably 70-80% of it filled me and it was the right amount for my partner, but in hindsight we would’ve been happy to share one serving of Urban Catch as the portions were generous, and could’ve had an ice cream or something afterwards. If you get crumbed fish, it was a good unique, new crumb we hadn’t had before, and the home-made potato scallops were great and crispy. Two different workers checked on us each to see how our meals were, so that was nice service. We were there on a sunny Saturday lunch and it wasn’t too busy which we appreciated, and food came out relatively quick.

The bread was soooo good! The meat could be a bit more flavourful tho. Overall I super enjoyed the souv! ❤️❤️
The host made us feel welcomed and important. Food was 5*. We highly recommend this place.
This persian restaurnt is situated in the heart of broadbeach, its very mordern with a traditional feel. The food is so amazing.
We ordered cocktails firstx they where a little too sweet but ok.
For a entree we shared vine leave. Iv never had then when there hot like this, super
Fresh. The pomegranate and cucumber yoghurt was amazing.

The chicken thigh was so tender when i cut it was so soft i thought it was under cooked. I was highly wrong it was cooked to perfection so juicy and tender! It was well seasoned, it had a good amount of rice an sald, and a roased chilli and tomato,

The staff where welcoming and very attentive. Would highly reccomend this restaurant.
We enjoyed our dinner here so much! Each one of us walked away with food coma😂😂 both drinks and food are sooooooo nice!! 200% recommend!

Not a bad fish & chips joint.
Fish & calamari were well cooked & the chips were fantastic.
The potato cake, seemed to be hand made, a rare treat in today's fast food market.
The urban catch was perfect for 2 people for lunch. A good portion size.
The restaurant looks nice inside, we hot take away, and the service was prompt & friendly.
Overall a good experience and a delicious & simple meal for lunch.
Would recommend.

This was a great find on a recent (Jan '24) trip to GC. While the family went elsewhere I sat up at the service bar to have the rotisserie lamb plate. I do love meat cooked over charcoal and this was a great example. Very sinple dish with pita and tzatziki it was awesome with a beer that sounded Greek. And because I arrived close to closing the extra serving to tudy up most appreciated. Staff were great - and the 3 man cooking team were suffering nit only the 30 degreas but fire as well. Highly recommended.

We had 5 meals, all lacked any flavour. I’m going to guess it’s frozen fish but certainly isn’t fresh fish.
Service was good but food wasn’t.

Our daughter is coeliac, and to find a fish and chip shop that is completely gluten free was amazing! The staff were so lovely, attentive and super friendly. Food, was really nice. Highly highly recommend, especially for coeliacs!
Delicious food.
Great service and hospitality.

I liked the fresh flat bread and dips as a starter.
For the main - red emperor was pretty amazing.
Similar to other reviews, the overall experience was very disappointing.
I ordered the grilled salmon and the quality of the piece was very poor. It looked like an old unfresh piece that appeared to be off so I decided not to take the risk of eating it.
My wife had the lamb cutlets. The vegetables were absolutely flooded in oil.
Very disappointing for the expensive price and won’t be back.
Charming and tasty local taverna. Tucked away from the main drag, this restaurant provides genuine service and well portioned meals. Lamb shoulder was outstanding.
Yum! Went there with my brothers and was really really good food! Definitely do either a share plate or a meal solo. Went on a weeknight so was a little quieter. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We got all lamb made different ways and were all delicious

Its so great to know that everything is gluten free. Our 13 yr oldcoeliac had her first potato scallop today and loved it. The food is beautiful the staff are fabulous. highly recommended
Everything was perfect. We had a large seafood platter for two, a few drinks (part of the platter below). Ladies' serving were super friendly. Had my dog who got a ton of attention from them. Definitely be back.
Best sourced lamb in the country, so we were told. And it was delicious, lamb cutlets were definitely some of the nicest I've had in a while, lamb & the chicken souvlaki also delicious, the Greek sausage had some nice spice to it & the goat was amazing so tender & the seasoning yum.
Good Greek salad, lemon potato was a hit with the family.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I felt most welcome by the staff.
It was suggested that we try the meat platter and it was such a good choice, it fed the whole family, it has to be the best value and best option to get a bit of everything. Although there were a lot more things on the menu I wanted to try, there was no way we could fit it all in.
Tzatziki was so nice and must have been freshly made, I hadn't tasted it that fresh before.

Really it was a great experience, traditional flavour, atmosphere & staff.
Pretty disappointing experience overall. Our dinner took just on an hour to arrive after ordering despite the restaurant not being full with around ⅓ empty tables; our waitress nervously told us multiple times that she had asked about our meal and it was coming soon. She was obviously under the pump and very friendly so I can't fault her attention but the food was average when it finally came and where this could have redeemed the experience, it just made the let down even worse.

We both ordered creamy chicken pasta but there was a distinct lack of cream and it was very oily and bland. The portion size was far too small so we were both left feeling hungry after (quickly) finishing. To be fair though, I didn't want to eat any more of this particular meal, just more of something!

We ordered garlic bread to come with our mains but this arrived 8 mins afterwards and due to our portion sizes being so small, we had all but finished our meal when it arrived. The garlic bread was also flavourless and undercooked so the bread roll was still doughy inside and there was no garlic flavour, we just paid a premium for a buttered roll.

Overall, very disappointed and we won't return to this restaurant on our next Broadbeach stay.

Cheap Japanese place to eat. We got some udon and not bad. The soup was tasty and not too salty. The udon noodle was chewy. The place is not too clean I guessed because they used too many plastic boxes, as some customers could still have options to eat in takeaway boxes when they sat in the restaurants, and the dirty tables were not cleaned properly. I got them 4 star because the portion was good enough to eat and the price was great.
Had lunch here today and the food was so amazing! We had the supreme teppanyaki set with seafood and it was very fresh. The scallops melted in your mouth and the fried rice was worth the upgrade. Tokyo tea was very pleasant. Only slight letdown was that the tuna was overcooked. I have some leftovers and can’t wait to eat them! Will definitely be back again 😊.

Amazing food all gluten and dairy free. And also guilt free eating. Will be going back for breakfast. Daughter can not eat gluten or dairy, so perfect place for dinner. Do yourself a favour and definitely give it a try.
3.5 stars- reasonable meal good services, and a nice authentic Greek atmosphere. We ordered the saganaki, loukaniko for starters (to share), and the seafood platter for 2. The starters were tasty and nicely cooked. The seafood platter was generous and all elements were tasty (although I’ve had better mussels). Calamari I think is the frozen tubes type but very tender. A lot of chips and potatoes. My main criticism is the bugs - overcooked and 1 half was an empty shell.

I used to love this place back when it was located in the old Plaza building. After years of being overseas and coming back to try it - I was a little underwhelmed. Portions are ok, but something was missing. The chicken tastes a lot tougher the last time I ordered and the pricing has obviously increased. It was a lot better value for money from what I remember.

It’s definitely still a tasty meal deal (Teriyaki chicken, rice and salad) but I won’t be in a hurry to go back unfortunately. 3.5 stars!
The Lamb shop was recommended but I wasn’t particularly impressed. Convenient for a quick and casual lunch but at $40.50 for two souvlakis and some chips it’s not particularly cheap for what is a very dry serving of lamb alongside some lettuce in bread. Wouldn’t go back

Decent food (3*) at very good prices (+1*). I certainly don't understand the reviews going on about how magnificent the Teriyaki Chicken is. In my opinion, there is really nothing special about it - tastes and looks like respectable canteen food.
On my first visit, I was greeted by a female employee with pink hair, she was very warm and friendly, it's a pity I didn't ask her name...
The dining environment is comfortable, the cold seafood platter is very fresh and delicious, the pasta is even more delicious, and there are various alcoholic drinks and desserts to choose from, the price does not feel particularly expensive.
I don’t want to be harsh and mean on commenting the food tonight, but the quality of food really disappoints me. The Moreton bay bugs in the hot seafood platter is mouldy. The crab in the cold seafood platter is tasteless. The mushroom risotto is terribly overcooked like a congee. 😵‍💫
Had dinner here on 04/10/22 with my wife and 2 children.
We ordered the seafood platter (hot and cold) - the hot platter was quite substantial however, the cold platter was not so. The cold platter included 4x prawns, marinated baby octopus, 4x oysters, and believe 2x crabs - see photo. Based on other seafood platters we have had the cold platter is a bit light on but still tasted very nice.
Kids meals were quite substantial, they loved the arancini balls.
All of the food provided tasted great, just think the cold platter in particular could be improved in terms of the amount served. Maybe consider including some marinated or pickled calamari, or possibly some mussels? Just a thought.
Would certainly recommend Yellow Fin.
Excellent restaurant in Broadbeach, 10/10 for the food and service. My husband and I had the barramundi fillet and it was delicious. My son had the calamari and it just melted in your mouth and my daughter had the battered fish and chips that she enjoyed. Absolutely loved this restaurant plus there was live music which added a great vibe to the night. Highly recommend.
Ordered the Tokyo set $42 and upgraded the rice to Teppanyaki Rice $7. Steak was cooked to my request, prawns were fresh and overall the favour was good. Also ordered the Karaage chicken which I thought was great value given the amount of chicken in the bowl for $12.
Service was speedy and friendly. We had food in front of us within 5 minutes of us sitting down.

One thing to note, that this restaurant on the outskirts of a shopping centre, it’s not the Marriott Benihana, but it’s half the price. At no fault of the restaurant, The diner next to us was complaining all night that her experience was not theatrical enough.

Overall was happy with our dining experience and would dine there again.
Great service
Great atmosphere
Delicious food

Highly recommend a seat at the grill for the full experience. We had a leisurely lunch here chose the single option and I highly recommended the ‘Tasmania’ choice, I have never tasted such delicious salmon. It was so simple they threw it on the grill for only a few moments added some sauce and it melted in your mouth. Generous serving of salmon, prawns and scallop for the price of $40
Price doesn’t really match food quality. Beef ordered medium but came out almost well done. Upgrade from plain rice to fried rice cost 7 dollars in a small bowl. Good service except waitress forgotten dipping sauce until asked. Clean and well maintained. Generally recommended.
Amazing food and service. All the seafood were fresh, lightly seasoned to taste the freshness, and cooked to perfection. The seafood platter for two was better than expected, and I ended up finishing all the calamari! The snapper was a good portion, very sweet and juicy. Even the sides were fantastic - crispy thick cut fries and hearty cream cheese and chives potato mash. Thank you for the great service, we were the last to leave the restaurant at 9.50pm but the staff did not rush us at all. Overall an extremely lovely meal! Definitely recommend!
Booked online for their 30% off special diner, arrived around 5:50, the waiter came to take order around 6:10. At the end of the diner I was told there would be no special for us because we ordered after 6:00pm. Apparently no one told us about this special rule when we got there. The food was fresh (unless the garlic bread which was not cooked properly) but the taste was just ok. Anyways the day was ruined because of their honestly poor service. Left not happy.
Very disappointed that the food quality was below expectation. We have been to this restaurant many time and the food in the past was good. This time we order surf and turf and bug and prawn, and find that the beef was very tough and the bug meat was soft which suggests that it is not fresh. The prawn was fine and calamari was delicious.
Fresh, delicious seafood with friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably priced street-side dining. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. Easy access with a cheap ride on the G-link tram.
