Excellent restaurant near the beautiful beach in Cobourg. The portions were large and the food was fresh and flavorful. The menu has something for everyone to enjoy. The servers were friendly and responsive to our dining needs. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Cobourg!
We were lucky enough to discover Craft Food House for our recent anniversary. Our meals were amazing! We had just recently been to Montreal and had eaten at some very good restaurants and Craft Food House was absolutely comparable to those fine meals. Micah was our wonderful server. There was live entertainment.

We were traveling through via 401 and looking for good, fresh food. Seeing that this place is all about the food, we decided to give it a try and we’re so happy we did!
Service was a bit apologetic, having just reopened after suffering a catastrophic plumbing failure. Excellent food. Service was quick enough for us and the ambiance was very comfortable and welcoming. I highly recommend the detour from 401 to catch a meal at Craft Food House!

Had lunch at this wonderful spot and hope to return! Our server/bar tender was so busy, and yet he made us feel welcome, relaxed, and made excellent suggestions when asked for recommendations.
The atmosphere was so friendly and the setting was beautiful. Best part, it was so accessible for those who arrived with wheelchairs and strollers.

a lovely place with a great atmosphere and delicious food! the brunch menu is great! there are shareable plates for 2 (or 3) guests with a variety of really tasty items. everything was so good! you can also enjoy some wonderful art displayed around (paintings by local artists, available for purchase). very vibrant and happy looking restaurant a few minutes away from the beach.
The brunch menu is diverse, creative and incredibly delicious! By far one of the best restaurants in Northumberland county.
I recently tried this place and it was amazing! The crust was perfectly crispy and toppings were fresh. Every time I’ve ordered from them, the staff has been super friendly and helpful. It’s so refreshing to experience such great service.

I stopped in at the Jamaican patty house for the first time since moving to Cobourg . What a delight it was. The lady who served us was exceptionally helpful and friendly, we tried the oxtail, which was absolutely delicious. Probably the best I’ve had. She also sent us home with a sample of her pumpkin soup. That sample was enough to feed both of us and we absolutely loved it! We are definitely going back again.
Best lunch I've had in such a long time. Dropped in and was wonderfully surprised at the great food. We had Angry Bird sandwich... Came perfectly cooked and perfectly presented. Great restaurant. Will definitely go back and definitely tell my friends about this wonderful little place
Walked in for some roti’s left with 3 Chicken Curry/Rice and beans for me and the boys at the office! Absolutely sublime. Huge portion but couldn’t stop eating.
I remember this place sells old, smelly wings which are almost ready to decompose. The owner asked the workers (slaves) to wash the wings with some chlorine so it don’t smell and also to sell the wings fast, he promoted a buy one get one pound offer which the locals went crazy ordering for wings. The franchise itself is a corruption hiring illegals for labour and paying them whatever. The food was tasty of course but the way the food was handled and the importance the owner gave on food quality is zero. The guy who owns the place is a miser and a dirty fellow who only thinks about money. Avoid eating there at any cost. He even asks to half cook the wings and drop into dirty blue containers which smell like burnt plastic and rancid oil.
Got the new stuffed crust pizza... now we all know pizza pizza is low end pizza to begin with, basically a garlic dip store that sells "pizza"... but this stuffed crust was actually offensive. They take all the dough that is supposed to be the base of the pizza, and squish it all into the crust, to wrap up half a mozzarella stick. Literally the worst pizza I've had from pizza pizza, and probably the worst period. And it only cost $30!
As a frequent diner at Wing House, I was so disappointed in my most recent visit. As always, Marlee greeted us with amazing service. However, from the moment our appetizers arrived we knew something was different with the kitchen. We reserved judgment until the wings arrived and we shocked to see what was served. Our entire table requested well done wings, when they arrived, they looked as if they had barely touched the deep fryer. They were cold, underdone and soggy. To make matters worse, the food took almost an hour to come the table. When we mentioned that our wings were not prepared as requested, the kitchen told Marlee that "they were well done, they are fine".
Needless to say, Wing House has some work to do before we will be returning.

Completely taken back by the change in the food quality. The wings were always cooked to perfection, at the patrons request, however, the wings are now undercooked tasting, cold, unappealing. Aside from Marlee being the best part of our experience (as she always is), we were utmost upset and disappointed. This used to be a place a regular spot for many of us but I can clearly say we won’t be back, nor will we recommend it. The food needs to return to the quality it was 4 months ago.
Had the peppercorn burger and it was incredible. Big, home made, perfectly cooked burger. Delicious aioli, perfect deep fried pickle and onion rings. And fries were amazing. Phenomenal.

The owner was so kind and chatted with us for awhile when it wasn't busy during lunch time. The Mac and cheese with pulled pork was so good and a lot of food! The chicken burger was great too. Will definitely visit again.
Went to this location Oct 11, 2023. Ordered the Xtra large take out special. It was our 1st time at this location as we are new to the area.
We were served by a a east Indian young lady. Following our order we waited inside the store while our pizza was being prepared.
I immediately noticed the women that just served us at the cash preparing a box of Onion Rings for someone else. She was arranging the rings in the box with her fingers. She had not washed her hands before touching the food. Gross!!!!

Best fish n chips on this side of Canada! Folks next to us were raving about how good the burgers are too!! Awesome atmosphere, good price and good vibes!!
Wednesday nights - great place for the best wings in Cobourg.
Too many flavors to choose from but everything our (large) party got was great. The service was OK- they were busy but friendly enough. Atmosphere OK as well but aged. Overall we will be back for great wings - pound and a half for the price of a pound - and to try new flavors.

The food and service was fantastic! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The best meal out we have had in a long time. So so delicious. We left happy and very well fed.
Great food! Server was good, very slow-but- she needed help. 3 of us ordered cocktails, one a beer. Cocktails came towards the end of our meal. I paid $16 for a minuscule cocktail that came when I /we were almost done with our meals. And we had an appetizer, so it was a long time. We should have told her to skip the drinks. Cute place, indoor/outdoor seating. The young woman that ended up making our drinks?(owner, bartender??) sat at the bar for at least a 1/2 hour, then she got up from her phone & computer and made our drinks. If staff or owner or whoever is on break or whatever, don’t sit right there in front of the customers! Great food and good atmosphere. The service? I don’t feel was the servers fault-she was working her a.. off, but ruins the high quality of the restaurant. Wouldn’t deter me from going, but if I recommend the restaurant to someone, and they had the experience we had, I would be embarrassed and not recommend again. There weren’t a lot of places open when we went, not my first choice.
Decent enough place. Usually pretty dead. Food is pretty good, but watch out for extra charges. Was charged $2 extra for hotsauce for my food, without being told I would be charged for it.

The food quantity and taste was mind blowing giving the current economy situation. Menu has plenty options to choose from.

Waited at least a half an hour. Probably closer to 45 minutes for cold appetizers to come out with no food in sight. Ended up walking out and I'm never going back to this place again. I have 9 years experience in the food service industry and this was absolutely ridiculous

The Caesar was incredible. The angry chicken burger was great. Maybe a bit too much sauce on it. Overall, it's still tasty. The truffle fries were top tier. The salad was better than anticipated for a house salad. Would recommend and will certainly be back.
We go here quite often as a group. A few of us always get wings, a few other dishes, beer. Today everything was off, wings soggy, waitress too busy talking to guys at bar to check on table, food was blah. We are regulars and today the food and service were bad.

Surprising food! Delicious! The Caeser Salad, The Mushroom & Brie burger & the Moroccan lamb were absolutely outstanding! Kudos to the kitchen! Service was inexperienced but very friendly. Will definitely be back soon! ( p.s. they took my shellfish allergy very seriously! Much appreciated! )
As soon as we walked in Marlee greeted us with a big smile and her bubbly personality. She was friendly, courteous, social and was able to take our order quickly and the service was top notch ! We came on a Monday night so we got our food quickly as well. A big thank you to Marlee for her 5 star service !

Had the loaded burger with a fried egg and crispy onions. The burger was so juicy. I love their crispy fries. Yum!
On our way home from Montreal to Michigan had to stop somewhere for the night. Found a place in Cobourg, ON and saw this nice place to eat. WOW, what a gem. The food, service, and prices were great. Really hit the spot after the drive. You must go ther if you're in the area.

This was our first time at The EL, our waitress was super friendly and smiled. Each time she came to our table. The other staff were equally as friendly, the food was absolutely delicious! Had a very refreshing citrus beer called “Life in the clouds IPA” excellent. Overall fabulous late lunch early dinner, we will definitely eat at The EL again. A big thank you to the chef, and amazing staff.

My favourite is their burger wrap and coconut shrimp!! Portions are also fulfilling. Atmosphere inside is more of a sports bar than a pub and we love it.

We had tried this place based on reviews. But the experience could have been better.
Food was average. We ordered burger 🍔 and red curry and fries 🍟 food could be more flavorful and tasty.
Place is little under staffed. Staff spent too much time in chit chatting rather attending tables. We had to wait long time for water and other stuff.

Had a craving for wings so we decided to check out Wing House in Cobourg. Came in and placed my order for 2 different types of wings with a side of carrots/celery with dips. Waited 10 mins and order was ready to go. The wings were a good portion and the sauces on them were spot on. Friendly service inside and the wings were tasty! Great to support local and the portions are great for what you pay. Will be back to check out the other types of wings.
Was driving through Coburg and saw the Jamaica Flag. Had to stop and support, you dun know. Ordered 4 patties, came up to 13$. Was very impressed. The flavour of the patty and texture of the crust brought me right back to my childhood. This place makes the patties similar to how it was 35years ago in Jamaica, before Juici Beef and Tasties came on thes scene and became the standard. Patties were good size, had a lot of meat and sooo flaky. I must say I did not expect much but was pleasantly surprised.
I ordered a chicken roti The size was good the taste was OK but it was 98% potato Maybe a chicken wings worth of chicken in the whole roti. Should be sold as potato Roti. Pictures of roti at different stages of eating it. Not worth $16.00 for a few curry potatoes.

We enjoyed the atmosphere, and the funky art. The food is more on the pricey side, but it’s good food. The freshness and quality is there. Highly recommend the Barnyard Burger. The Korean Fried Chicken bowl had good flavour, the rice was a bit lacking and seemed to have taken away from the dish. But, the rest of it made up for it. The truffle fries were also a hit. Would definitely return again.
I got to be honest I’ve been here a couple of times, and I’ve had some great fresh pizza. I understand quality control isn’t top priority but the 20min drive up to pizza pizza was the worst decision I could have ever made. The pizza was literally disgusting….no effort was put into it…it was straight dough. Especially being the fact that I got charged extra for a garlic base to find that there’s nothing under the cheese….but then again we couldn’t see much cheese either. And the fact that it was a three topping pizza and there was barley any meat. Not sure who made my pizza but you definitely didn’t care to try at your job. My $40 would have tasted better in this instance. None the less the other times pizza was nice and cheesy and hot but this time was a serious disappointment….do better who ever you are.
Believe the reviews. Perfect amount of spice on the Curry Goat and Jerk Pork, the spicy beef patty is great aswell. Service is fast and friendly, and the selection of Caribbean drinks is impressive. Definitely a new local favourite.
Chicken roti came really salty and as you can see in the pictures had an insane amount of pimento . Also chicken is obviously not fresh and is pre made and re heated . I don’t really understand the business hours ether . Not sure why a restaurant would open at one PM after lunch hour? Also had lots of thyme stalks in it . If you want really good fresh tasty West Indian food this is not the place for you. Plus $15 for a Roti and a pop is really expensive
This place is inconsistent. Sometimes the food is great and sometimes the food is just meh. Today the food was just plain horrible….bad taste, veggies cooked so long they’re wilted and unrecognizable with no flavour left in them, and peppercorns all over the place. The prices went up by $2 but the serving size decreased significantly. And I’m tired of them being out of things all the time like plantain. I'm giving up on them.
It's hard to find good ox tail. Husband and I have only eaten twice but very impressed both times. The ox tail is so meaty and tender. My hubby gets jerk chicken it is also delicious. Rice and peas are perfect and portions are huge. Just talking about it gives me a craving. Yum yum yum
Such a wonderfully run family business! Service was unmatched by anywhere else in town! Amazing immersion into the incredible world that is Caribbean cuisine. Excellent pricing and service for amazing food! We have been served by the whole family and have excellent experiences with all of them! In no time I was munching down some spicy beef patties like there was no tomorrow!!!

Only one suggestion for this establishment, I like how the server gave me extra hot pepper sliced and diced for extra heat. But maybe in a liquid format might go better with takeout orders and will be easier to apply to a larger area and blend into the food. I just wish when they say they are open 7 days a week 11am to 7pm , that they stick to it. It's 330pm and they are closed on a Thursday.

Driven past lots of times, today I stopped I really wanted goat or oxtail but both were sold-out understandable with lockdown plus it was almost 3 pm. I ended up getting curry chicken roti and a Grace Kola Champagne.
When I sat back in my truck and opened the box huge stuffed roti and some fried plantan.
Now I can eat lots but only manged ¾ of it.
Took me back to growing up in Scarborough.

We visited the Peterborough location on Charlotte Street and Oh boy am I happy I came here. The food was so good, full of flavour, nice pieces of chicken, the jerk, BBQ and curry chicken, and samosas are all amazing. The wife loved it as well. Will definitely be returning anytime I get a craving for jerk. Fantastic customer service, we came at the end of the day and the food was pretty much sold out they had just enough to fill our order, this is a telltale sign this place has an "it" factor. Even accidentally called the coburg location, and they were also out of food. If you like carribean food do yourself a favour and come here. And that's saying something because there is some good competition in close proximity with island cream 2 blocks away but personally I have found my new favourite carribean spot.

A little Covid hiccup, glad to see we can resume regular visits.
So happy to have found Island Hot Pot, south end of Baltimore, Ontario. Mere minutes north of the 401.
While travelling daily from Oshawa on my workday commute, until retiring, made an almost weekly pilgrimage to Dees Catering, in Oshawa.
We are looking forward to continuing that tradition here at Island Hot Pot.

So happy to have found Island Hot Pot, south end of Baltimore, Ontario. Mere minutes north of the 401.
While travelling daily from Oshawa on my workday commute, until retiring, made an almost weekly pilgrimage to Dees Catering, in Oshawa.
We are looking forward to continuing that tradition here at Island Hot Pot.
Outstanding. What an unexpected delight. The last thing I expected was first-rate Caribbean take-out, tucked in beside a gas station in Baltimore, Ontario. For $18 we took home excellent and generous chicken curry on rice; delicious, fragrant spicy oxtail, and beautiful little samosas with a mango dipping sauce (on the house, as it was closing time!). Not sure why there is a three-star review here with no actual information given. We will be back again and again and I will spread the word.
Went here after the beach on Sunday at about 7:30pm. 4 adults and 5 children ranging from 4-10 years old. Shown in pictures: Personal Nachos (meh, portion very small, not awesome), Grilled Chicken Club (girls thought it was good), Ale House Burger (meat was nothing spectacular, and the bun was VERY BURNT), and Gooey Bacon Mac & Cheese (meh). I overheard a regular customer and our server making comments about our table when we first walked in (maybe they’re not used to children visits and she was not happy to serve us?) She turned out to be very nice and courteous, but conversations about other customers should be more discreet. I tipped her well regardless because her service was good. I would not recommend families to eat here.
