This place is absolute trash. I had my cocktail. That was enough for me and I just wanted to chill, enjoy the good music. I was then instructed to leave since there's no drink in front of me. I've never heard of this. I'm utterly not impressed. Never setting foot there again 🚮
Love there chicken 🐔 😋 and there burgers 🍔 yummylicious 😋, fresh juices are mouth watering, pizza are so so delicious, the dough is just so loght and delicious, value for your money and good portions ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The place and food was great but the highlight for us was a security by the name of Clifford Van Niekerk who works for Mezuzah Security. He really made us feel safe and protected but overall his kindness was unmatched. A real gem.
Probably not the best place to visit during the week. I’ve eaten here a couple of times but there’s no consistency, the staff works with moods. What started off as a really great experience that allowed me to come back is turning into a very sour one.
Lights are off in the restaurant so not really inviting to sit-in and staff are very nonchalant with queries.

What can i say but the bursting of aroma and flavors and tenderness was just explosive!!! Full of flavour nd tender tikka chicken where your tummy is screaming for more n more 😃. Chips was just spiced correctly and crisp and good portion and the roti was fluffy and soft, the salad and sauce was to die 4
So disappointed. A place which we’ve been buying from for years which was approved,m by a Halaal authority, is no longer Halaal certified. When I asked the owner for certification, he threw a whole lot of papers in front of me and told me to look for it myself. Then when I asked for my money, he initially refused but later gave it with a very rude attitude. Beware!

Great place for a wildish night out. Atmosphere is not for that introvert boring friend you want to bring along. No guaranteed parking space.
Oh my God. For my first time I'd go to this place over and over again. Mama Mexicana highly recommended
This place has such a Unique food , the food is so delicious specially the pizzas and the chicken. The Bombay crush and other juice are also yummy.
The bacon Nachos were awesome. Really tasty. Also had some Tacos and those were amazing. A must try. Get the Beer with Tequila in, you'll be hooked. Even non-beer drinkers will appreciate it.

Great experience with tons of flavour. Our group got almost everything on the menu and we were all very happy. Loved the jalapeno poppers and the "spicy mama bowl"(?). Only negatives is service was a bit hands off, slow, and they charged me for extra sour cream and guac without letting me know it comes at a charge. (R15&R22 extra!) But now I know.
The margaritas are good and strong, wow. And they had the Cinco de Mayo drink special running even through seis de Mayo. Not sure if it's me or the tequila talking - you'll have to go find out for yourself. ⭐

First time trying their shawarmas and it was really worth it! Amazing food 🤩
Food is good but some of the men who work here are disgusting. They look at you like you’re a piece of meat and when you ask them what they’re looking at - they say “they’re allowed to look”. Absolutely disgusting especially when I am paying to support your business and you have no respect for women.

We enjoyed a burrito, nachos with guacamole and pulled pork tacos. The corn tortillas are the best I have had in Joburg, and the flavours are delicious. It was a quiet lunch, and the owner, Jillian, was very kind and accomodating. The chocolate cake and ice cream was a nice touch for pudding. We will go back!

Another hidden gem in Fordsburg. This place has the best shwarma I've ever had. It is seriously amazing! The chicken shawarma is my favorite but the beef is really good too. I used to order from here once a week because it's just so good. Must try their chicken as well, better than any grilled chicken I've had too! Excellent value for money.
Last night I received the worst service ever from these people. After waiting an hour for our food we received half the order, the owner lies and tells us each table is made per order, yet the other tables have been served. The owner didn't acknowledge the bad service either, instead treated us as he does not need our business, I walked out. Absolutely horrendous and yet I visit this store weekly, today that stops as the owner is a pig. The owner simply is not in his restaurant to notice a regular customer, tonight he lost a regular because of his arrogance and stupidity.

I went there for lunch & the food far exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t that great (but I guess it was okay since it was a hot Wednesday during lunch time, perhaps waiters were a little sluggish). I ordered the platter for two with a side of potato wedges and a Greek salad. It was quiet a bit of food, I must admit, but I enjoyed every single bite. The general vibe of the place is really great, also. They had a DJ that played really good music! If you have time, I recommend giving this place a try (have a little patience because the service is really poor).
Nice local pub, great street view and bike from the deck but underwhelming atmosphere. Limited bar menu and an even smaller pub grub menu, basically pizza(excellent and chicken wings).

I was craving a schwarma and l let me tell you this place more than delivered. I haven’t had a schwarma that wasn’t always in a pita, I’ve also never laffa or a beef schwarma so I was a little bit skeptical but this place made a me realise I can never go back to a franchise ever again. Fresh ingredients, tasty and juicy beef, and the laffa stays in place no matter which way I bite it which is great because I’m always used to my Schwarma falling apart after three bites. It seemed small and thin and I was worried it wouldn’t be filling but I write this review having woken up from a food coma/nap. I like fruit cocktail the least because the fruits can be a little bit overwhelming but their signature fruit cocktail was refreshing and delicious. I would highly recommend, 10/10!!!

I have visited O Cantino for over 20 years from day one when they were opened. They served a fabulous lunch on a Sunday it was mainly takeaway due to Covid .

Very chilled and relaxed spot to meet and greet with friends, very friendly staff and yes this venue gets a phat 9 for superb pizzas.....Thank u Street Cafe !!!

My chill spot, I hang out here almost every time. They have nice pizzas and drinks. Place is not usually that packed so it is a good place to chill mostly.
The place is cool and enjoyable nice bears, good food nice pizza's, wings and chips, ribs and chips, burgers etc the place is so clean. If you want somewhere to have meetings or conferences I recommend Street Cafe they deserve 5 stars
Extremely good food,good service friendly respectful owners , i asked about Halaal and was given a full tour of the store room and preparation area neat and clean. All meat strictly Halaal bought from Halaal suppliers, good food takes time so you can expect the shop to always be full.

Clean and safe place for food and a drink. Very good cafe for the area that it is located in. Fast and efficient service from staff and clean bathrooms. The interesting people walking and driving in the street makes for good entertainment. This is deep east territory after all :-)
If you in the mood for some authentic Syrian street food then this is the place, there is a lot of dishes on the menu at reasonable prices, and while you there grab some of there freshly squeezed juice, my personal favourite is ago and date. So next time you find yourself in Mayfair, get yourself to the House of Schwarma, you will not be disappointed

So I decided to try Amman restaurant in Fordsburg after many good recommendations. We tried the pide, pizza, chicken and the Amman Burger. Everything was perfectly up to standard and the food is well prepared. I'm gonna talk mostly about the burger.
Presentation: I think the picture speaks volumes about the presentation of the burger. The fact that is was a busy Sunday afternoon (just around lunchtime to be specific), they took great care in delivering a damn great looking burger. In fact, my brother who decided to pitch up and try the food came and sat at my table to stare at my burger as it was placed. He ordered it as well 😂
The taste: you've gotta take charge of this big fella as soon as they place it on your table so you get that melted cheese in your mouth. Now this is by no means a small burger. You get that fantastic middle eastern grilled patty taste coupled with the cheese, the juicy tomato and a nicely fried French polony and some great crispy chips seasoned with some chip spice.
The verdict: go in hungry for this burger.
All in all, considering the type of food you order, the time it took from ordering to the table was not long. I'd recommend Amman Restaurant anytime

Food was generously portioned and tasty. The mojito was delicious! Minty and not too sweet. Really the attraction here is the low key house music and the rooftop vibe - people watching with beer in-hand. Awesome Sunday chill spot!

A nice place to have a drink. The atmosphere and views on the corner are really great and give a good impression of this area. The prices are ok as well as the food. Unfortunately, the meat was partially very tough so you could not chew it. Nevertheless, the service was very friendly. Maybe just a place to have drink and relax.
Loved the ambience, that wasn't too aggressive with the Mexican theme; and the indoor seating was surprisingly cool for as hot a day as it was.
The burritos are definitely "authentic and delicious", as advertised. Service was great and the quesadillas had some of the tenderest chicken I've had in a while.

Good place, good service, a bit expensive bit very reasonable in this neighbourhood. We had a bottle of wine for 95 rand. Atmosphere is nice. Good place to spend a little time if you are in Maboneng. I would recommend this place.
I loved the vibe! Great waiters, atmosphere and setting. The staff was wonderful and I will be back soon again
