Disappointed.

Found a hair when almost done eating, which is definitely ruined everything. The stir fry rice noodles is mediocre at best, and it supposed to be a very common Cantonese dish. The soy sauce combination tastes fine until I see the hair. BTW I like the soy beans idea (prevent food dipping in the sauce for too long and enhance the flavor at the same time) but with the price paid, it feels a little cheesy.

I rarely rate a restaurant with only one try, but finding hair in food is definitely a stop sign.

Parking and the interior decor might be the best/strongest suit about this place.

I often dine at this restaurant, after all, I lived in Beijing for 20 years. Here, I can enjoy a variety of authentic Beijing street snacks. Although the taste may not compare to the local flavors in Beijing, it's still one of the Chinese restaurants in the US with a high level of authenticity.

You need to make reservation for Peking roasted duck 1.5 hours before coming. If not reserved beforehand, there is a Peking duck soup which is readily available.

Dang! Lots of haters giving this place less than 4 stars! I thought this place rocked! The duck wings a little too much for me LOL. Other than that spicy beef noodles are on point!

Me like, delicious foods especially the wonton soup. They don’t hold back on anything but the price is kinda pricey expect around $15 up but it worthwhile if you’re a fan of real Chinese foods.
Excellent legit Taiwanese joint. true home tastes. To go only, no inside sitting. All the classics are here and they're delicious. Place your orders in advance to avoid the long wait as they make things to order.

The waiter is very lovely, and the food is awesome. My friend, who is from Guangzhou, really like the noodle there, and he said it is pretty authentic. The shrimp is also pretty good. I would love to come there again for another food.

Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After a long day trip, I was so glad to discover a restaurant that served authentic Beijing cuisine. Although the service was average, the delicious dishes they served more than made up for it, satisfying my cravings completely.

The restaurant boasted a tasteful design with an authentic Beijing style. The proximity of the stacked disposable meal boxes and beer barrels to the dining area detracted from the restaurant's overall cleanliness and aesthetic appeal.

However, the dishes were so good!

Sliced Pancake Soaked in Whole Fish with black sauce ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a traditional Beijing dish that is absolutely delectable! The fish is seasoned to perfection with a delightful mix of salty, fresh, and mildly spicy flavors. The pancake is then soaked in the sauce, infusing it with a mouth-watering taste that elevates the dish to a whole new level of deliciousness.

Shredded Pork with Sweet Soybean Paste Sauce ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is another classic Beijing dish that never disappoints. The pork is cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, and paired beautifully with the black sauce, which perfectly complements its flavor.

Eggplant with Garlic Sauce ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It is an authentic Beijing dish, distinct from the Americanized Chinese versions found elsewhere. The eggplants are cooked to a soft texture and expertly seasoned with a flavorful garlic sauce, making it a must-try for anyone seeking an authentic Beijing culinary experience. Highly recommended!

Duck Bone soup with Napa Cabbage and Tofu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The soup itself (the liquid, or say the water part) is fresh and delicious. Although the meat on the duck bone is plentiful, it lacks flavor. Nevertheless, the well-cooked Napa cabbage and tofu more than compensate for this, adding a delightful texture and taste to the soup.

Sautéed Mixed vegetables ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very refreshing taste.

Really good noodles and good appetizers. Recommend getting number 1 and 9 for less spicy options.

Yuck. Rude lady. My wife loved most Asian food. She grimmaced at the soup The dumplings were tasteless. My bowl of beef and noodles was metallic tasting, most had to be tossed out. Waste of money.

Great taste as Beijing taste. Love the Spinach Peanut Sep, Silicon Pancake Soak While fish, roasted fish, Sizzling BBQ Lamb. Spicy Frog Dry Pot and Get Da Soup are all right. Pork may with strange taste as I tried. Leave some waiting time for food making after ordering.
Evaluating a restaurant based on one of their least expensive items is an interesting approach: if they can do one of the least important items well, what else to expect but excellence for the rest of their menu? This is something I tried doing at this restaurant (mostly because of the convenience; it was the one item that I would not have had to wait for 20 minutes to get for takeout), and I was proven right: I tried the Minced Pork Belly Bowl and let me tell you: that pork, although lacking in quantity, was more than enough in quality and flavor. It permeated the whole bowl and was an excellent choice. I just wish they would have put a bit more, but for the price, it was truly an amazing deal. Highly recommended place for authentic Taiwanese food! 👌

Not bad but maybe I need to order something different more to my liking.

Came here with friends and one of them paid so I can’t comment on price.

Parking is a tiny lot but thankfully we found parking. There are plenty of seats inside and it’s pretty clean. I liked the pictures they put up and they have the typical cooked duck hanging in a window.

I tried their hong kong milk tea and coffee mixture and it tasted good but if you are lactose, stay away! It later on destroyed me. Henry’s cuisine HK Milk Tea Coffee combo is a lot better (tastes better and doesn’t hurt your stomach)!

I stayed away from the wontons cause I heard they had shrimp. I thought i would be safe with dumplings but prob my fault for rush ordering and the dumplings ended up having fat shrimp inside of it! I just ate the veggies and egg noodles (those were good). I also had a bite of my friend’s meat and rice dish and it was pretty good (I have a pic of it).

I would come back but will definitely be careful what I order (shrimp is so bleck).

Very tasty! 10 dishes for 8 persons and $33 per person. We had a good treat after a 11 hour hiking. Every dish was very delicious! My favorites were the fish, pork rib, and 百叶tofu.

Went there for dinner on Sunday around 6:30 and it wasn't quite packed as I expected( but there were people waiting when we came out)

We ordered a lot of food but I don't know the names since I wasn't the one who ordered. The duck tasted good while the skin was crispy and the meat was tender. I only wish they gave more wrap(or pancakes... whatever it is called)

Every food we ordered tasted great it wasn't that salty like some has mentioned. I only was able to take pictures of some food we ordered.

I loved-
Fried tofu stir fried with some veggies
Peking duck
Fried shrimp with walnut
Cold noodle - it reminded me of Korean cold noodle

Other dishes were good too but those were I'd order for sure next time.

Food is super authentic! The noodle was not soggy at all. Service was pretty good too. They gave us free oranges after the meal. Will definitely come back!

I haven't eaten at this Noodology in a long time. I'll have to call this the Noodle restaurant that aged like fine wine.

The noodles were freshly cooked, the ingredients were fantastic, and it was awesome.

Both my wife and I had different beef noodles dishes.

Mine was more spicy and they were delicious. She really liked her noodles. And coming from a Chinese who knows noodles, that indeed is a great compliment.

Y'all need to come and try this restaurant. You won't regret it.

I got the oyster pancake and intestine vermicelli. So good that I felt like I was in Taiwan for 20min 😆
The pancake is with crown daisy inside, which I prefer over than roman lettuce, and the oyster are fat and fresh. The portions weren't big for the price but so does everything in LA now.

The parking lot in front of the plaza is very small and the parkings are tight so grab it if you see one empty right away!

Always hard to find great wontonmein outside of Hong Kong, but this place is pretty darn good for California and has great BBQ duck and pork as well! The chow mein and mabo tofu were also well above average and fell within classic HK quality standards. Every bite made my family happy.

It was our first time there. We were going to try the duck.

The duck was ok. However, the fish and also the stir fry vegetable dish were delicious. We consumed it picnic style in nearby Smith’s park.

Ho Kee Coffee is easily one of the better Chinese restaurants we have been to lately. Customers come from all walks of life. We saw a Porsche SUV and Lexus SUV parked outside.

This restaurant has plenty of free parking.

The restaurant is across the public library of the City of San Gabriel.

Covid19 Measures are in place.
Indoor dining is allowed as of November 2021. The store front features some nice wooden benches

We also went for beverages. The milk tea and a dessert fungi beverage been very flavorful. However, it was a little bit to shock sugar in it for my taste. That’s just me so.

I’ve been here several times and their food is always so authentically delicious! Today we ordered 爆三样 (3 types of pork organs),葱爆羊肉(lamb and green onion),红烧牛肉面 (beef noodle soup),蒜泥白肉 (spicy garlic pork cold dish with cucumber). The food came quick. They are closed for an hour in the afternoon, so make sure you check google for times. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Authentic Taiwanese food! Braised pork rice and and intestine vermicelli here are legit! So good! 5 out of 5! Popcorn chicken and oyster omelette were decent, but I do wish the oysters can be more fresh. They are kind of fishy.

If its your first time, try rice noodle soup with colored soup not the clear soups as it will taste bland for you unless you have tried it before. Safe choice is number 24 Taiwanese beef noodle soup. 4 tables inside and friendly staff. Fried tofu is ok as well as the sweet rice cake. If ever i go back id just get the Taiwanese beef noodle or other soup with spicy flavor.

Some of my friends would call this place the BEST TAIWANESE FOOD out there. My wife and I always consider this place whenever we are around the area. There might be some line on the waitlist for the dinner time.

Love the crunchy nuts in the noodles. They got a very summer-esque vibe here with cold dishes and fruity drinks. Great for a quick bite.

I've always see lines out the door for this small Cafe and decided to check it out. The seating area is quite small do you'll end up waiting for awhile.

Food:

1. Our group ordered the house special fish porridge. At first thought, I imagined it to have big chunks of fish meat in it but in reality, they're very small chunks of tilapia meat. What I didn't think was that they'd include peanuts in it as well. There was also a whole lots of ginger slices, which I'm not a fan of. Be careful though because you may come across bones and scales in the porridge.

2. Wonton and dumpling noodle soup. The noodles were hard and didn't seem fresh to taste. The wonton and dumplings were great and was flavorful.

3. Char Siu Pork and duck noodle soup. The pork was ordinary like any other Chinese restaurant that serves it. I particularly thought the duck was moist but I'm sure it would've been even better when it wasn't soaked in the soup.

4. Crispy Beef Brisket. It was truly crispy and I've never thought of a dish like this. However, the meat isn't as tender as you'd hope but still good. It also comes with a sweet sauce and that's what makes it a good dish. Eating it without the sauce, it's bland and doesn't taste like anything.

5. Chinese donut. This was crispy and has a little salt in it. A bit oily in my opinion but at least they fry it right then and there and doesn't seem like they microwave it.

6. Hong Kong Milk Tea..as good as it tastes in Hong Kong.

Service:

Better than most Chinese restaurants but there was one lady who tells at other workers and it scares the hell out of me. I'm sure that's just her personality but still, the restaurant is small so everyone hears it.
Tight quarters, but cozy Taiwanese food will be sure to draw you in. The restaurant packs your traditional Taiwanese dishes (minced pork and rice, pork belly, various noodle soups) and will boast a healthy line during eating hours.

The portions are a bit in the smaller side, and parking can be limited in the lot (but easy to find in the surrounding neighborhood).

First time came to this busy restaurant. My friends invited me and they know what's good there! The food tastes good, prices are moderate and friendly customer service. The downside is the waiting time is ridiculous and very hard to find parking in there! Suggestion: find parking on the small streets around the area!

Good noodle stores with various of options
My 1st visit here happened on a raining Saturday evening. My food, curiously enough, reflected the weather outside. A bit rushed, a bit soggy overall. Popcorn chicken was damp. Not enough batter. Beef noodle soup is fine. Preserved mustard with pork noodle has a nice shallot oil soup base. Oyster pancake has generous amount of oysters and vegetables but like rest of our food, tasted a little bit rushed. Hoping to revise this average r with a better one on my next visit.
