Not the best location but a great memory and fun moment. Makes you remember and respect the past.
Amazing statue of one of the most important American authors. A must see if you're visiting Boston.
Life-size statue of Edgar Allan Poe; whimsical.
Very nice statue of Edgar Alllan Poe.
The most dramatic statue of a plain faced moustachioed man ever made. Guy wrote a couple poems about murder and birds but this statue makes him look like a Harry Potter wizard. 100% statue. 63% haunted.
Awesome to see in person. The entire park is beautiful especially in the fall.
This is about one of those statues that everyone stops to take a photo of when you're working on a photo project so it's hard to get the angle you want with the light you need while it's so extra busy. The best is that when you look at the pages of writings that are as well a part of the statues that lead to its ever so warming place. There is a corner store and a cigar shop along with the trolley. Enjoy the time you get
Statue of writer Edgar Allan Poe in Boston at the corner of Boylston and Charles Street. I've lived here for most of my life and saw this statue just recently because I don't walk up this street. Mr. Poe seems serious yet vibrant.

The statue is very nice. You can stand with it, it's near some Cafés but I went at night. It's lit up pretty well.

Great plaza area around the statue of a great American patriot.
Just hanging out here on a nice July day
Something about this statue reminds me of Mushmouth from Fat Albert. Maybe it's the big feet. I don't know anything about a Kevin White but I enjoyed the informal pose of this statue.
The Soldiers and Sailors Monument was a striking tribute to the brave men who fought for our country. A sight that evokes reverence and awe. Worth a little visit and quiet moment of reflection. There are definitely more prominent and historical monuments throughout Boston, but that doesn't mean this one should be skipped.
Great outdoor patio to enjoy the location and historical sites nearby. And Sammy is one of the gray back gorilla's of the craft scene. So, good solid tasty beers. Some location exclusives on tap.

It's a statue with information. Surrounding area often frequented by street performers
The history here was great. Some wtite-ups had a "woke" slant but it's was still worth the look.
COVID time in the park, just remembered. I enjoy visit this place.

Magnifique sculpture en aluminium
The Boston Commons is worth a visit for some history and it’s spacious paths. I enjoyed people watching here and taking photos of the monuments.
Great statue right in front of Faneuil Hall!
Love seeing these sculptures all over the city. Tells how important they were to the city
To be clear: Poe was not a fan of Boston. However, this is an awesome statue in a rather picturesque little park where one could happily while away the hours reading or playing chess.
There are not enough adjectives for me to describe this park. It was so beautiful, breathtaking stunning. I had no plans to even go through the park, but on my walking path it had me I got lost in there for easily an hour. It’s amazing how it can be right in the middle of the city and cut everything out. It is so meticulously maintained. every plant is so beautiful. Every tree is so properly pruned. If you’re looking for an escape, I would highly recommend walking through the park. It is so peaceful a great spot for a picnic afternoon lunch
It's a larger than life statue of the larger than life "Kevin From Heaven," the mayor who renovated Quincy Market, located at Fanuiel Hall, across the street from City Hall. You can shake his hand and walk in his big footprints.
Just outside fanui hall, always great street artists nearby also and always good food
Great sculpture to visit! It was on our walk for the freedom trail. Love seeing different sculptures and pieces of history.

Beautiful, clean , neat and tall George Washington on horse statue.
Boston Commons is Boston Publics Gardens less attractive neighbor, that being said, this monument is one of the best things to see within the Commons.

It is centrally located in the park up on the hill so it has some nice views of the park and city from the base.

Worth a visit and a few photos.
Always a fan of the General over the many years in the evening with the lights of the city and sometimes the Moon in the background.
A pretty amazing monument in one of the most famous parks in the world. It always has something new to offer.
Charles Sumner was an awesome Senator! He and Thaddeus Stevens! Both did more than just stand for American freedom!
Captain Ahab of Ahab's Adventures taking a moment for the soldiers and sailors that this monument is dedicated to.
Captain Ahab of Ahab's Adventures adding another Washington statue to his photo collection. The fact that you can enjoy this one from so many great sitting spots in the park is a huge bonus!
Not being from Boston, I didn’t know who this was but I took a picture anyways and then read all about all he did for the city. Great mayor indeed.
We walked around the Boston Public Gardens enjoying the crisp air, birds and beautiful statues. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall the Gardens are always a wonderful place. To me it is such a gift to have green space in the middle of a thriving city.
After reading the book 📖 "Monuments Men", I've been more fascinated by these structures and the work that went into them. This style of monument is popular around the world 🌎. I've seen one that wasn't as well treated in a costal town in England. And then there is Nelson's Monument in Trafalgar square in London.
I was impressed with the inscriptions that were written. I've noticed that this is a very popular hangout for people because I've seen them sitting at the base . People with cameras and smartphones were taking photos. I find it very interesting that there is a North Sea mine, that was meant to damage ships, sitting right next to this monument.
You have to walk up a hill to get to the monument. There are places to sit. This monument has its own Wikipedia page 📄 if you want more information ℹ️. The view from the top 🔝 of the hill was interesting.
Update: November 2023: Even on a chilly night, it is still a popular hangout.

Gorgeous winter walk through the park, past the Frog Pond ice rink and up to the monument for stunning sunset and views of the city.

I loved all the old buildings and sense of history here. Wish I would have had more time to explore. I especially would have loved to have had a beer in one of the taverns that have been around since revolutionary times!

Great place to hang out, can watch some wonderful people showcasing their talent, wide variety of interesting things to see, eat and buy! Especially enjoyed the performance of a young boy who sang and played the guitar. Watch out for the video..Soul stirring!
Good place for small meetings and other gathering. Located near to central hall
Fun statue that makes for a great photo op in Boston. The statue is close to Boston Commons, so it's definitely worth the short walk to check it out.

Also make sure to check out the Boston library where they have a bust of Edgar Allan Poe.
Stands on top of the hill and looks absolutely elegant. Great photo and history buff opportunity.

Simple, smooth, and clean.
Among the statues of men long since passed, this one guards his corner of the park.
