It was the first gay bar I have visited in Liverpool 12 years ago. After a 5 year gap, yesterday I was lucky enough to visit here again… same style, literally everything is absolutely the same. The only change is the people who are visiting, and some of the bar members. I found the staff the same: nice and welcoming! Still low prices, and the same happy hour drinks/ cheap shots..

I really enjoyed every minute of my stay last night. Hope, life takes me back soon again 😇

Went in yesterday all lovely staff except one who made a disgusting comment infront of customers. Asked the lady behind bar if we could charge a phone as we been out of house all day, she was so lovely and friendly she was more than happy to do this however when my friend handed phone over the guy behind bar made a rude comment swearing about customers asking to charge phone infrint of us. I think he needs more customer service training and to follow what the other staff are lime as they were more than welcoming. Besides this great bar

Liverpool's oldest LGBTQ venue. Staff know everyone who comes in just wants to have fun. Friday nights DJ Fluff plays great pop tunes so you can dance away the night. Plenty seating. Yes it gets busy Friday and Saturday night... But Sunday afternoon.. it's my favourite place for roast dinner.... Why. Cause it's super friendly. It's full of regulars who all know each other... But it's no cozy club... Every one is welcomed. The drinks are less expensive than many local venues with house being other's top shelf. Needless to say.. always tasty

The staff was amazing always polite, nice place for a calm drink but I wouldn't drink to much as their toilets aren't the best at all...they look after the bar area amazingly but totally leave their toilets go to hell, never hand soap to wash your hands in only cold water as the hot water tap is never working at all, toilet roll holder is broken to bits so it's mostly found on the floor...I wouldn't recommend this bar while their main fault is the toilets, just think about all those people that's been in there and can't wash their hands afterwards...
Hello, very bad site and very racist too. If I could, I wouldn't give them even one star.

It's a great bar in Liverpool every one that loves good music, friendly people, and no problem with LGBT plus community.

The Masqurade as a bar is excellent. It is just the street outside which let's it down as it is squalid with overflowing wheelie bins from different Venus in the street. It must have a reflection on people who want to visit the various bars in the street.

Amazing place loved it, the bouncers were nice the bar woman was lovely too she was on the ball the whole night the drag queen on was hilarious we went on a friday and she had me in stitches laughing. Loved the deals on for the drinks and how cheap they were. Enjoyed the night so much would definitely recommend. I lost rings and i came back the next day and they had them couldnt thank them enough for being so helpful.

Nice gay friendly bar, stopped in for a few drinks after a gig in Liverpool. Decent music, nice friendly barman served me and made us feel comfortable. Other bars around were very quiet. Would return if we're in the area again

The missus and I came in tonight.
The lad giving out the free shot cards was welcoming.
Annabelle Lector was just about to start. She was fantastic. I even got a song sang just for me. I obviously stood out as I was the only dude with long hair and a beard.

100% coming back.

The only place open at 1am, another drag DJ but she looked a bit scarier, although friendly. bar staff friendly quite a small venue. But again a far better venue than the Lisbon.
I can't comment on food as I didn't eat. But WOW finally left that horrible Lisbon bar, only to be presented with the complete opposite. The bar is quite small but the service is 1000% better than the Lisbon bar. The barlady was attentive friendly and professional. I asked for a single gin and tonic and she said for a little extra I can get a double (£3.50 for doubles). There was a good drag DJ who also included me probably because I was dancing to the good vibes. Other patrons were friendly also. Highly recommend a visit. Don't waste your time and money anywhere else.

The best club and gay bar in town! A bit far out from the busier area of Liverpool, but always a great night out nonetheless.

Not good, bar staff just ignore you only to serve the nearest person in front of them, not looking down the bar or remembering who's in turn, very frustrating seeing people served before you, who came to the bar later, and the music for a Saturday was terrible. Never again.
Great place to enjoy a drink and conversation. Everybody really friendly.

Very nice gay bar in the gay part of Liverpool. Beautiful old space. Friendly bartenders. Good inexpensive drinks.
This place is laughable. Bouncer 'searched' my friend (he didn't even touch him or go in his pockets) yet suddenly their was a bag of drugs. We told the bouncer to call the police but he refused to do that, strange isn't it?
Then ANOTHER bouncer didn't agree with this and said we can go in, it's all a misunderstanding. Yes, the misunderstanding is your bouncers purposely accusing people of having drugs. Some words were said by my friends and rightly so. Absolutely disgusting, yet they let a girl who's practically falling over in. Makes no sense to me, shame really. There were 9 of us and you absolutely lost our custom. Avoid this place, worse than cherry bay in Zante.

Always loved the place when I was younger, and it's the same old same.old.

I love the addition of the outdoor seating area / Smoking Area.

Friendly Staff as always.

And their Sex on the Beech cocktail was lovely Nof sure what was different in their recipe but something special for sure! I had to have two!

Had the misfortune of visiting this 'establishment' music extremely poor overall presentation of the venue was shabby, dirty and in need of a good clean. Staff friendly enough however, prices could not justify the lack of standards! Avoid at all costs.

We were just walking down the street when the security man decided we spat on his car - thing we did not do - and chosed violence. He slapped my friend in his face and broke his necklace. When we asked for help from the other security man, he told us he was right and that it was well deserved.
Your establishment should be ashamed. Such indignity is not acceptable. Thanks though to the two men helping us afer the incident.
I don't know who spat on this car, but well done mate, it was well deserved :))

EDIT : thanks for your answer. It was Friday 23rd of June night. Maybe around 1pm ? Not sure though about the exact Time

Whether you're a sailor looking for a place to unwind, a history enthusiast seeking to immerse yourself in naval culture, or simply someone intrigued by the allure of the sea, the Navy Bar offers a welcoming haven that combines history, camaraderie, and good cheer. It stands as a testament to the timeless bond among those who have sailed the world's oceans and serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and achievements of naval forces past and present.

Had a great night here after the first Eurovision semi final preview show. The DJ played all the best Eurovision music, including Loreen, Luke Black and La Zarra. Good value drinks too.
worst place ever . I lost my phone in the club in the toilet and I forgot it and got out of the toilet. He kicked me out of the club at the same moment. I told him I forgot a phone in the toilet he kicked me and said come tomorrow. I tried to communicate with them. No solution could be reached except for any solution. And I went to the club, the keeper of the places, they treated him very badly, he did not want to talk, and he was incredibly racist The next day went to get my phone back. He doesn't want to talk to me incredibly racist. He just says fuk off, now I've been 3 days trying to communicate club by phone, Instagram, website, mail, no one ever responded

Was in on a Saturday night and the tunes were on! The bar is beautiful and well kept! And it's such a safe vibe, everyone was well friendly and lively the dancefloor was LIT ! and i love the raised platform on the dance floor so I can be my EXTRA self! 5/5 would recommend 🌈
Paid in 22/01 for 2 people. Walked downstairs to the bar. A lad was a mess at the bar and offered me and my mate a line. Bar staff told the doorman who asked us to leave. We did not do anything or even buy a drink. Bully door staff then refused to refund us our entry fee we had just paid. Doorman were aggressive and did not want to listen to what we had to say
Brilliant place. Brilliant music what an absolute banging night we had in here.
Bouncers are thugs. Assaulted a man who was trying to get in but was told the club has a no single guys policy. They resorted to violence even though the man was not being threatening or aggressive. Seems to be a recurring problem here recently from reading other reviews. I would repeat other people's advice and avoid this place.
Alright club but one of the bouncers were an absolute thug and assaulted a man on minimal grounds, and then another assaulted him arguing his case as a result of the assault. Would advise to avoid due to the heavy handiness and eagerness to assault people.
Great place to go if you fancy getting beat up by the bouncers (who obviously suffer with little willy syndrome due to taking far too much steroids) )for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Vile place. Dirty too. If you do decide to go make sure you wipe your feet on the way out.
Edit..Replying to the little person below . Funny how you can respond on here but haven't got the guts to speak to me on the phone when I called to complain. Cretin. Watch out for karma now

Extremely friendly and safe LGBTQ+ bar, amazing drag queens who are hilarious, camp and will always make us feel welcome. Great choice of drinks from spirits, bottles and shots. Honestly my fave drag/gay bar in Liverpool!
My Partner and I had a 'Nostalgic' evening in the Lisbon recently. We met in The Curzen but spent many nights out at the Lisbon.....we still feel a buzz when we come to Liverpool 26yrs on!!! Doug and Ray xxxx
Maybe it's the best pub I've been to in the UK since I arrived in the country. Why? For its uniqueness. This is a typical British pub in the middle of Liverpool, well decorated with wood features. However, the place is modern, fresh, full of young people so it makes the place the perfect combination of the new and the old in the same place. Please go if you have the chance to go!

So glad we found this gem of a place in Liverpool. We had a brilliant night out singing, dancing and laughing so much my jaw and sides were aching! The owner Ian was so accommodating and sorted us out with a table and chairs. Both the acts that were on (Soul Sisters and The Gangsters) were brilliant and Daniella Mantrapp keep us entertained through the evening. Every member we encountered were friendly and helpful from Jake the barman to Richie and Craig on the door. We will most definitely visit again when we come back to Liverpool. Thanks so much for a memorable night.
Everyone very friendly , Staff and Customers, you feel safe , and there are lots of friendly taxis to take you home safe . It was my first time and I will Definitely Will be Going Back .
Food fantastic service perfect clean tidy and very friendly will be returning

This is my home pub. Some days busier than others. Maybe on day they will start using cards as it is cash only. But the music, staff, everyone is just fantastic spending time with.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Five of us each paid £3 entry on a Wednesday night (Don’t ask why!) A girl of our group was then assaulted by bouncers before we even got in and thrown against a wall, her arm was cut open. I recorded bouncers shouting abuse at us, and one realised the recording so purposely covered his name tag - clearly working illegally. This bouncer instead began recording us, claiming we would go viral on his snapchat! (Am I a celebrity yet?)

A supposed manager eventually came out, but only gave two of us refunds, instead of all five. I asked the 'manager' about bouncer who covered up badge and he said the bouncer didn’t work there - very dodgy!

This isn’t a gay friendly place. It’s a straight bar trying to cash in on gay capitalism.

Dorothys and OMG are WAY better and open around the same time and they're just across the street! (WAY cheaper, too!)
