Reviews

Was a guest here for a while. Toilets are tiny. Food at the dining hall was generous and good! Rooms are small but i think if you decorate them and clean them they can become quite cozy. Room was warm even though it was winter. But overall the place does look quite rundown. Had a good stay here.

Cheapeast postgrad accommodation at UCL for 145£/week. Shared amenities are fairly clean as the cleaners clean them twice/thrice a week. Corridors are quiet and the reception staff are helpful.
They are very strict on having unauthorised electrical appliances in your rooms though, including kettles and mains-operated fairy lights which they will confiscate if found.
Very good location in the heart of Camden Town, with a bus stop right outside the accommodation that takes you to UCL main campus in 15 mins. The bus services are 29 and 253. Two tube stations: Camden Road and Camden Town stations are 5 and 15 minutes walk away from the accommodation respectively.
Plenty of supermarkets including Sainsbury and Aldis about 15 minutes walk away. Many cafes, hair salons, convenience stores and fast food restaurants within walking distance too.

I was so pleasantly surprised by accommodation at Max Rayne. The room is cosy and pretty neat. Shared amenities are kept quite well. And though it’s supposed to be shared accommodations, the rooms are very private and the corridors are quiet. Would recommend if you’re looking for cheap accommodation. £145 per week.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! This was the worst place I could possibly stay in London. Aside from the horrendous room condition, their incompetent staff wasn't able to find my payment for weeks for which they charged ME a late payment fee. I booked maintenance twice and no one came to fix anything. A PERSON DIED IN THE BUILDING. If you pay close attention all of the positive reviews are written by ChatGPT. Reception staff hasn't been trained properly and constantly brought up issues for any request I had. There's issues with the mold, the shower, the ventilation. The train constantly makes noise as the tracks are right under the building, it was impossible to sleep. DO NOT STAY HERE, SAVE YOUR MONEY OR SPEND A BIT MORE AND GET SOMETHING ELSE THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE.

I cannot stress how terrible this place is. 90% of the time, the doors or elevators are out of order for months on end, the hallways and washing machine facilities are disgustingly dirty, reception staff don’t treat residents as human, but if you’re lucky they’ll flirt with you, access to our flat was removed without warning and hundreds of pounds worth of stuff has been “binned.” The rooms themselves have mold and mildew issues along with a paper thin mattress with springs that will bruise your ribs. Save yourself time and money and don’t sign a lease for this place

My stay at chapter has been great. The property is amazing and so is the staff. Specially Elcin has been the most helpful, she understood my problems at a personal level and made me feel very at home. She has helped me settle in so well and has taken initiatives at different occasion to make us feel at ease and home like here at chapter. She has been a friend to the majority of us staying at chapter

This university accommodation provides all you need for a comfortable stay / tenancy. Rooms are modern, spacious and have all needed appliances. They offer exceptional services such as cleaning services and host events for students. They also have a gym, study spaces and a lovely terrace. Reception team, especially El and Kerry-Ann are friendly and helpful with any requests. The reception is open 24/7 with security overnight which makes the building very secure and safe. Despite the slightly further location, Chapter Lewisham is well connected and also walking distance from Greenwich area which is wonderful. I could not recommend it more! :)

‼️THE BEST OPTION IF YOU LIKE WASTE YOUR MONEY ‼️😍🤑❤️
☺️ 🤩These are my best reasons to stay in this student residence
1: The machines to wash and dry your clothes almost never work and if they do work they are always dirty or smell horrible. 🤯🥳
2: Every time you open your window you will get an amazing aroma of trash can and weed
3: The staff in general is very friendly
(without sarcasm) 🫶🏻👍🏻
4: The bathrooms in the rooms are very small
5: ‼️PLEASE clean the dryers and washing machines, It's disgusting ❤️☺️‼️

Staying at Chapter Lewisham for the long term has proven to be incredibly convenient. The single studio room I occupied was not only clean but also equipped with Wi-Fi accessible to all residents. Additionally, the accommodation offers amenities such as a study room, gym, and laundry facilities. A housekeeper diligently cleans the room on a weekly basis. One standout feature is the welcoming and helpful reception, with Elcin being especially commendable for her excellent service and advice. For those seeking a long-term residence conducive to studying, I highly recommend it. Moreover, its strategic location makes transportation easy, with Lewisham train station just a 10-minute walk away. Feel free to contact Elcin for any details regarding your stay.

If you’re reading this and just got accepted to UCL, congrats!! I was very reluctant about staying at Max Rayne House because of the negative comments I read here on google. But thankfully I decided to give it a go. This is by far the cheapest way to live near the uni and in a central area of London.
The accommodation is decent, nothing fancy but you can easily live comfortable here. There’s no bugs infestation (I read one comment about it and it made me petrified! But relax!). It is also very clean, as we have a cleaner coming 2-4 times a week to clean the kitchen and the bathroom. Each corridor has one kitchen and one bathroom, so I suggest you make a whatsapp group chat with your corridor with everyone.
If you’re used to live in very big bedrooms, you will find it a bit small (as I did). But you will get used to it.
It is very close to the main campus of ucl. There’s a bus stop right in front of the accommodation, but you can also walk! Around 20-25 min walk (good to save some money). The tube station is also quite close.
If you’re a postgrad, you will probably be allocated to Max Rayne. It is a quiet (most of the time hahah) accommodation full with postgrads! There’s also a common room with many games to play and a tv. They often offer some movie and game sessions, so people can meet each other and make friends. They even sometimes offer free things (drinks, food etc).
Tips:
- if you don’t wanna buy the pack that they offer, bring your own bed sheets, pillow and pillow case.
- The cheapest way to buy things for home and bedroom is probably IKEA, but it is far away from the accommodation. So make sure you get the basic stuff until you find time to go there.
- ask around about the social events. They are really nice and an allow you to make friends before your course starts. You will meet people from every part of the world ❤️
- make a whatsapp group with people from your corridor. It will facilitate communication, trust me!
- make sure you put the right location on google before you arrive here. Sometimes google shows the lateral entrance, and there’s no security/door man to open the door for you. The right entrance is the one with a big sign written “ucl accommodation” 😂. When I first arrived, I spent 30 min in pouring rainy day with 2 big suitcases waiting for someone to show up, but I was just in the wrong entrance.
Anyway, hope this helps! And also hope you have a great time here as well :)

Great location and easy access to supermarket, pharmacy, and campuses. Convenient traffic. Friendly management team. Good experience here.

I have been at Westcombe for 2 years now and the property really is the best around. From all of my friends student accommodation buildings that I have visited, none have the same offering or design as Westcombe. Management has also been changed over recently and has improved A LOT. The building is well kept, has a great communal area for study or socializing, and is clean with a secure place for my bike and great laundry facilities. Pricing is inline with the market and you get what you pay for. My second year studio also has great views of the London skyline. I highlight recommend the property - especially now with the new and improved management!

Great place to live and perfect location DLR right outside the building.

Student hostel for Greenwich University

This is not the first time. The bin often disappears.

Extremely unprofessional behaviour, the kitchen and rooms werent clean before moving in, the courtyard smells like garbage because they never clear the garbage and they wont even hold the packages for 20mins. They provide faulty tv and cables in the room. The carpets inside have never been cleaned and stinks all the time. Extremely unprofessional

Good accommodation and good location, but the residency support with noise complaints is nonexistent. I was here for one semester, so I was unable to change flats in time and got unlucky. I stayed in a private room with communal kitchen, my flatmates turned out to be party people. Loud music day and night, strangers knocking for fun and talking at my door from 12am to 4am, screaming and laughing in the kitchen that is right outside my door. I sent in complaints, called for Resident Assistants, but the Assistants would often hang up on me due to late hours and do absolutely nothing. Majority of my classes are at 9am, and the partying doesn’t stop for work days.
In the end, I bought ear defenders just to be able to fall asleep

My experience with this place has been absolutely dreadful. From the beginning they had a mix with my contract which in the end made me switch rooms and pay even more! Moreover, the hallways are never clean and smell disgusting at all times. The trash is left everywhere and makes things even worse. Finally when my room was handed I can tell that the kitchen was in such a bad state that was inhabitable (I have no idea how the health policy works here). The sofa from the kitchen has stains all over and the stove is white for some reason. My room has holes on the floor and not to talk about how I had to deep clean everything with my neighbors. How do they expect to have a place if they can’t even keep it nice for the people that live there! I personally would never recommend this place to live in terms of the poor quality they serve.

Where to start with Westcombe. For the first few weeks of living at Westcombe . I had three parcels stolen and when I told the front desk about it, I was told by Donna that it was not her job to check the CCTV (mind you our contract said they would be 24 hour security, she worked for the 10-4 if we where lucky), after that, it just got worse we had periods of having no warm water, a rat infestation which took months to get rid of (still wasn’t sorted by the time we moved out), a gas leak and a cleaner that never turned up, Maintenance, who never actually fixed anything just tape It or said they’ll come back and never did, washing machines and dryers that were always broken and really expensive.
For a month I had no kitchen appliances as the socket was broken. My sink was leaking and my shower did not drain so considering I’m paying for a studio (£1.5k+ extortionate if I can add) I was not getting what I was paying for. I had to shower in my friends room every day and ended up cooking downstairs which resulted in me burning myself carrying hot pots back upstairs. All these were reported to maintenance and the front desk on multiple occasions and instead I was completely ignored or lied to that maintenance would come into my room and fix it. The day maintenance did come into my room to “fix it” he used one of my butter knives to break his way into my shower and left a mess everywhere and left without fixing it or cleaning up. After a month of complaining and asking for it to be fixed it took me threatening Westcombe and CRM with suing or reporting them to the housing association for them to move me to a different room halfway through my tenancy instead of fixing things, low, and behold the plug that operated all kitchen appliances in the new room was also broken as well as the chair.
Over the period that I lived at Westcombe we had three different site managers. Donna( what a woman absolutely hated her job. Don’t know why she bothered ) Robert came and went did nothing, Zainab, who tried to fix things. No support from Management and was basically thrown to the wolves.
The cherry on top of an absolute disaster cake was the week of moving the building put in place a security guard to Man the building up until 10 o’clock so people who were busy during working hours could still check out. When I went to the building to collect the last of my belongings and to hand in my checkout form and keys,I found security not at the front desk, but instead in the lounge asleep, and just ignoring everyone walking around the building .this place is a complete joke and I would not waste your money!

Been staying for 2 weeks now. You won't find any other affordable and comfortable like this one in London as UCL student.
Last week, I reported about my bed is uncomfy then the staff immediately changed my bed, and the cleaner lady in my corridor also really do a good job for my corridor common room.

This is my second year living at the AXO Camden accommodation. The reception is open all seven days from 9 am to 6 pm, with someone there to cater to your needs and requests. The reception is only closed for a few minutes during the lunch break, which everyone is made aware of priorly at the time of the check-in itself. The staff has always been very courteous, responsive and welcoming. In regards to maintenance works, there is always Renton there to help with the same. Ethan, Milo and Renton have always been very responsive and accommodative when it comes to requesting them about something. The property has always been spot on clean, no foul smell and no garbage disposal problem. The common room is cleaned thoroughly, ensuring proper sanitary conditions prevail. If anyone is eager to shift to Axo Camden in the near future, they should do so without thinking twice! The connectivity is also good, the accommodation is centrally located with bus stops and tube station at a walkable distance.

There is nobody in reception all time. If you want to check in, you need to go to AXO Islington first to get your key… And my toilet is not working. I cannot flush it, but there is no where to report maintenance. No one answering the phone and report on portal would be ignored. And since there is nobody working in reception, the bin collection always missed. Now there is a mountain of garbage in the bin storage area. It seems AXO Camden was abandoned by the AXO company. The management is terrible😡

It’s a comfortable and affordable option if you’re an UCL student. Facilities are good and work properly considering they’ve been used for years. Camden is a vibrant zone and you can find all kind of plans no matter your budget. Around there are plenty of options to get food at good prices: lidl, tesco, savers. Also plenty of options to buy whatever you need. Transport is really good and you can go everywhere since you have the overground, tube and a bus station less than 10 minutes from the Accomodation.

Easy to get to. Visited the area for the inaugural Camden music festival.
Nice event. Lovely lively area!

I came to Max Rayne House reading negative reviews on Google about mice and roaches.
Didn't expect much before coming here. But, it was the complete opposite. This will always be my second home. The best student accommodation in UCL where bright minds with good personalities meet. Not gonna lie, this is the most affordable place to live near Camden Town. You'll have a fun time and make strong friendships. Can’t be more grateful for giving me this living experience here. All the best to next batch of students. You’ll make good stories here.

The accommodation itself is nice, but there is cost cutting done by upper management on staff and maintenance services such as regular garbage collection. House manager Zainab Balogun is only in office for basically a solid 5 minutes resulting in multiple maintenance issues in the common areas that are left unattended for months, parcels getting stolen as there is no one in on office hours to collect them, and any complaints sent by multiple residents left unanswered. Has potential once upper management invests in more qualified staff that deals with contract breaches on Westcombe’s end but at the moment it feels quite unsafe to live there.

Chapter Lewisham was a wonderful accommodation for my daughter's first time being away from home and long term stay out the country. The staff was friendly and courteous. She really loved her room. It was spacious, clean, and a wonderful place to live. Parents of all London Universities, you won't be disappointed.

I thought I was the only one having a hard time living here until I saw all the reviews. The only reason I give two stars is because the staff is really nice and try to help as much as they can.
However, the main issue lies in the overall management of the building. It’s still under construction and so there’s constant noise from 8am in the morning, I have had so many insect issues especially with massive silverfish in my room and for such a premium price - the building’s cleanliness is terrible.
There’s no cleaning of the common areas either and it takes a long time for something to be done if you have an issue.
Michelle and Youssef, really try though, they’re the only helpful people I would say.

The place has no receptionist, so that’s one inconvenience thing. The inventory paper they gave out in the beginning serves no purpose, as they would still take your deposit saying that you break things, even though things were already broken when I moved in. There is no soundproof between rooms, so you can literally hear the whole floor everyday and night. I asked them to email the students regarding the noise, yet they do nothing. They were also supposed to do an inventory check before I leave, but no one came to check it while I was there, they waited until I leave to then say they can't return the deposit. Avoid this place, it is not worth your sanity. Very unprofessional.

I have sent so many emails to the manager about tenancy transfer, but they never replied my email. I have been waiting for so long and I sent them follow up emails literally every day, but still no one responses. There is always no one at the reception, and the staff never picks up the phone. When I dial the emergency call number, the phone is always switched off. This also happens to my friends living here. They never take our emails seriously.

Max Rayne house is good and affordable. The room, kitchen and toilet condition are fine, don’t let the rumours fool you (I personally find it is worth to stay here) Camden Town is a good place to have fun and many restaurants can be found in this area. Highly recommend it

My experience at Hawley Crescent has been amazing. I’ve been living here for 3 years and have had a blast. Not only is it great living here but the activities and social events held here are so interactive and everyone is welcoming.

I strongly do not recommend students to reside here. The management of this apartment complex lacks integrity and decency. It significantly exceeded the renovation timeline they promised before I moved in. Throughout the year I lived here, I could only sleep until 8 AM at most, as workers would start conversing and working outside my window, even on weekends. This not only reflects the inefficiency of the apartment's management but also highlights their lack of ethical standards. How can they guarantee a good experience after you move in? Please refrain from choosing to live here and supporting such an organization.
At the same time, it is important to note that this is a newly renovated apartment, and even after the renovation is finished, you will have to endure the constant pungent smell of paint and various building materials.
The response from their staff is the same old cliche, apologizing and then refusing to admit the mistake and never correcting it. You're not going to get a prompt email response, ever.

I lived in drapery place for a whole year. The first day I came here and saw the notice the decoration on hooper yard side will end at the end of Feb. Today is the beginning of September, they still working outside. However, no sorry, no compensation, they just send email told us we need work at weekends every week. The outside work is very noisy.
Very bad living environment and experience. The price cannot represent the quality this accommodation. They are just a profit driven company.

Convenient, near the tube station and bus station, next to a big Sainsbury’s. The price is okay comparing to other accommodations considering the size of the room. The staffs are nice. I have already lived here for 2 years and have rebooked for next year.
Maintenance is usually time-consuming and requires patience. Fire alarms are sensitive so could be a bit annoying sometimes, but I’m already used to it. Collecting parcels is a little fussy for me. Although knowing it’s for safety reasons; I may prefer to simply pick them up by myself when passing by. Since the reception is locked after 5:30pm and sometimes even earlier; and is not open before 9am or during weekends; I usually miss the opportunity to collect my parcels when I was at school all day, or came down when the staffs were absent. It might be better if there’s a back up plan for us to collect urgent parcels out of working hours; just like what we do with the false fire alarms I guess?
Enjoy the decorations for every festivals!

This is one of the worst student accommodations in London.
I found out the kitchen sink was clogged and overflowed when I checked in. Also, there was no hot water and the shower area didn’t have water supply at all. It took about a week more to have it fixed, but the problem is still lingering such as broken refrigerator, constant faulty fire alarm at midnight which is frightening.
Moreover, the ongoing construction work produces tremendous amount of noise from Monday to Friday which really affects students studies.
Wrote an email to complain about the problems, and they promise to give me a solution within 14 days but now it's been ***5 months!! No reply is given which is ridiculous. I have never seen a company with such bad management!!
update: super super noisy every day, insane.

The place is fantastic and donna has been very supportive

Cons: This place is Expensive. Yet no gym, air conditioning or a proper oven.
Staff are annoying and seem to come into your room when they feel like it, without asking your permission. They dont leave you alone or give you privacy, when requested. Staff treat you like a 5 year old. Quick to throw blame at you. Feels like a prison.
Fire Alarms keep going off while you are sleeping or studying, yet when you go outside it's always a false alarm, not even a drill.
It has been a good couple of weeks after the promised date, to return my deposit. Still havn't got it back.
Pros: Maintenance of the appliances is good.
Internet is good.

Very Decent place, has elevator. Nice furnitured student accommodation.

Great place, location is perfect for students, train station to central is 3 mins away, main bus route is top of the road, the management have been really helpful and helped me to have a good stay

Donna is amazing! I enjoyed my time at Westcombe House :)

The lady in reception is very kind and give great support when I moving in.

The 4 goes for the food, service and staff. My room is clean but some rooms were not however the staff is nice and helpful. Well-done 👏

I stayed here for my academic year 2021 to 2022 at SOAS. The maintenance staff and accommodation manager Chris are very friendly and nice. The room is small yet very cozy with a quiet environment. I really enjoy the beautiful garden, the clean study room and TV room. The location is great, very near to the Camden market and the beautiful Regents park. It is also near to the food market where we can buy various affordable nice food. On some special days like Christmas or Thanksgiving, there will be fantastic events and party for everyone. Overall my stay here is a very enjoyable experience.

I had a fantastic stay. No issues. If I had any problems with my room, I would let management know, and they’d sort it out in a timely manner.
My room was in good condition, and I had ample sunlight ( lucky me!). In addition, you have everything you need within a half a mile radius. - Sainsburys, the underground/overground, cinema, doctors etc.
I loved it here.

So far enjoying my stay here . Room is not that small . Perfect size for one person . Quiet except the fire 🚨 going off unnecessary . Walking distance to university of greenwich( about 13mins) , via bus 9mins . IKEA just round the corner and other stores .

It has been a quite enjoyable stay for me here so far. I came here in later September of last year and I've made some very good friends. I suggest anyone who wants to come here and meet new people to show up in the common room at night, it's a great way to have a good time with fellow students. The staff is really understanding and friendly, halls and common spaces are routinely cleaned, and for certain holidays the staff will decorate appropriately and even give food and drinks. The rooms are fairly small but quaint, the position is central and quite convenient for UCL students in particular.

Goldsmith House offered a wonderful stay during my academic year 2019-2020 at UCL. The administrative staff is helpful. The house keeping staff is friendly, helpful and prompt. I enjoyed my stay at Goldsmith House, especially the spring of 2020 was beautiful with backyard garden. A calming space during the lockdown. The kitchen and toilets are well maintained too. An added advantage is the location, being in Zone 2 Camden, the hostel is a 20-25 minute from the main UCL campus.

I love it here! The room is big and bright; the staffs are friendly and extremely helpful. Although doing laundry is a bit expensive, but the well-equipped complimentary gym and the decent Wifi could make up for that🤣
It takes just a little walk to 2 TfL stations; there are grocery stores all around. One cinema and one Chinese-supa just right downstairs.

All the staff, amenities, and location are great. If you want to chill a bit, you can just pop up to the Camden market and river, or the Regents Park. The Hight st. is also nearby so you can get your necessities quite easily. The best part is all flatmates are female and they are really awesome and friendly. You can make lots of friends here. Though the road across the accommodation is under construction, the window is soundproof and you can barely hear any noise with the window closed. Highly recommend it.

Horrible. Simply horrible. I was paying more for so much less. The internet was horrible. Half the time I couldn't even do anything and had to use data. The room was no better either. Especially the bathroom since the shower overflows and floods the bathroom floor itself. Other than that it's okay I guess. My experience was horrible for more reasons but I'll keep it at that for now.

I enjoyed staying here for the past two years. Experiences at student halls would always depend on who the flatmates are, and I was blessed to have so many nice people around me. People staying here seemed to be generally nicer/ more responsible at least in comparison to my previous hall.
- The house is small enough to become familiar with most people including the reception and cleaning staff. The fact that we only have one big dining room also helped for getting to know each other.
- Communal areas are well cleaned (unless there's that one resident who makes a mess) and the shared shower room was very new looking.
- One side of the building has a railway + long term construction at the moment, but the admin team is very understanding and would work out a quieter room if available.

It was a great experience to live here as it is located in the centre of Camden town and I do appreciate the management team for their great service. I also love the way they changed the decorations in the building for different holiday seasons. (photo took during Christmas last year)

Not in existence I wasted my time and petrol all the way from kent to the please for covid test. Walked around every street asking people who live there and was not aware of sure name. No since no bill board name. Nothing it was a shame. Only because my University said we should go and test, before our next place ment next week

Firstly I don't understand why a male has reviewed this hostel as it's a women's only hostel. Not sure what that is about.. the only men you will find there are staff members.
I stayed at Goldsmith house for a few years as a student and found my experience at Goldsmith House has been quite negative. I experienced many issues with the place like seeing Rats/mice in the kitchen (sometimes bedrooms). There was constant refurbishment…If you are a student, this is probably one of the worst things as there is always a disturbance of some sort… sometimes they are changing the doors, windows, painting the corridors, changing the carpets, lounge room refurbishment…the list goes on. Let’s not forget the waterworks going on outside (no one seems to know when it will end..a year? 5 years..?). If you are looking to complete at least one assignment in your place of residence, I don’t recommend staying here.
You do need to be careful if you are out and about on your own at night. There were several instances when staff sent out emails to all residents about incidents involving phone theft occurring close to the residence. Oh yeah, my bike got stolen from the bike shed too (more on that in my next point). I suggest that you plan to arrive back at the hostel with another resident or within the day time/ busier hours. Also, avoid taking your phone out wherever possible around the building.
Half of the concierge were found asleep rather than actually doing their job. That’s how my bike got stolen from the bike shed. I saw the concierge fast asleep and the next day my bike was gone. If the concierge had been awake and monitoring the security cameras, I probably wouldn’t have had my property stolen. If the gate was left open, this should have been picked up on in the security footage, and the concierge should have closed the gate ensuring all entrances are closed preventing strangers from entering the property. Don’t put too much stock in the fact that a 24-hour concierge is present - you will still need to be vigilant when it comes to your own safety inside the building.
Kitchens were left in a disgusting state with bins overflowing and not a single clean worktop. It is a complete pigsty on the weekends. If you can afford to, avoid the kitchens on weekends and public holidays - it is not a pretty sight.
Also, there were obnoxious members of the cleaning team that would constantly be heard shouting to one another or on the phone. Not what you really want to hear when you’re trying to sleep or study. Sometimes they carried out room checks, using their keys to knock on the door very loudly.
Many of the new heaters didn’t work properly which led to multiple, ongoing complaints to the maintenance team. It was pretty cold in the winter but thankfully we were provided with portable heaters. Just be aware that there is a pattern of unsuccessful installations/renovations.
There was one particular incident when the second-floor toilets had flooded and the water was leaking through the light on the floor below but the concierge failed to call emergency services. Instead, the residents were forced to call the fire brigade.
It is a nightmare living in this place and I don’t recommend it.

I stayed in Goldsmiths house from 2019-2020,it had been such a wonderful experience. I heard alot about horrible accomodations and flats, but this place wasn't. I came from a very socially connected family and country to study my master in the UK,and I was expecting myself to struggle with being lonely and not having the real sense of family, but it didn't happen. Can you imagine that I really started to miss my family back home when I moved out of Goldmiths?!. This is because the family atmosphere that I felt while living there. Also, this place has everything that you need make out the best of your studies for many reasons: Firstly,it is always clean, all the common areas are sparklingly clean all the day because of the very dedicated staff who are always there and they clean on a daily basis. The only thing you need to take care of is your room. Secondly, The availability of the quite study room helped me alot while searching for a place to focus and not sleep ( I'm a library person,I am not the kind of people who have the strong will for studying on their room,I used to spend all my study time in libraries). Some people also study in the dinning room ,which is such a large space that can accommodate many activities at the same time. Oh ,and the fantastic garden ,it's perfect for getting your thoughts together. Thirdly, the staff, starting from the management team who had been very helpful from the day I signed the contract. They always try hardly to find solution for everyone, and they always show understanding. I will mention two things that happened for me personally that I will never forget: Due to some restrictions on the bank transfer from my country,I didn't pay the first installment and I'd signed to pay when I arrive to UK and the first week to be payed separately untill I open the bank account here and receive the money transfer. But when I arrived to the UK and to Goldmiths, openning the bank account took some time and there was adminstrative delays in sending money from my sponsor side. I was panicking alot and I didn't want to tell my family or anyone about that.I told the manager about the story and she was just like a "mother" ,she solved the situation by making another contract to pay on weekly basis untill I receive the fund. And not only that, she even asked me if this might affect my budget so she can have another solution. I was not expecting something like this to happen at all. Even during my last payment, she was not there, but she adviced the other accommodation manger to see if I want to pay later , because she was expecting the same delay to happen but it didn't. This example clearly shows their willingness to help their residing students and make life simpler for them. The other example was the other staff members: the cleaning and maintenance staff and the receptionists, they are all lovely and kind. I remember when I stay in my room and not appear for some days they ask me the moment they see me where I have been and whether everything was okay with me. I felt they are like a family.
The last thing to mention is the other students in this place. I am getting out with ones that I can call sisters, and I mean that. Although we encounter different kinds of people in life, but most of the students there are really amazing. It's also interesting to point out the activities that are usually planned by the management team for the purpose of connecting people together, such as having some breakfasts together , celebrating Christmas together and many other activities.Indeed,it helped me more to know most of the people who lived there and to have a longer chat when most of the people used to be very busy during week term time. I would strongly recommend this place for any female searching for a place to stay in London, and it's also important to consider the location and the proximity to universities, regent's park,Camden high street. Again,if you are searching for a clean, socially connected, perfectly located, well managed and organised and study conductive place, this should be your best option. Highly recommend ed

I looked for so many places to rent before, but Cube Greenwich has been the best! Key takeaways: Feel safe (CCTV in corridor), friendly receptionist, nice room size, new building, immaculately clean rooms and they even have a small gym area! Also to add the lady namely Sandra who is guiding me through my application process is very helpful in explaining things clearly and replies promptly to my concerns, addressed them & most importantly resolving them! Customer service is 10/10, highly recommend! I look forward to moving in soon, thanks to Sandra! 🤗

Stayed here for one night while working in London. Beautiful garden, large communal area's, clean modern shared bathrooms. Single room ideal size and comfortable, female guests only. All night security very pleasent. I would stay here again 😄

The outside of this building is disgusting. Cigarette ends all over the floor and the bin is always overflowing. Do you think you can ask your users to respect the outside public area or employ a cleaner to clean up their mess. Thanks

Unsafe locality because it falls directly under HS2 construction. I have come to know that many theft and assault incidents occurred with the female residents of the housing. Very noisy because of the construction, not an ideal student accommodation.
Unprofessional and disrespectful staff - can increase the rent at any point of the year by more than 20% with no regard given to any contract. The contract is carefully designed when given them the freedom for doing such things. The rent doesn't justify the facilities and room size.

If you want to fail your undergraduate or post-graduate degree then this is the perfect place for you!
Goldsmiths house is located at the epicentre of the HS2 (High Speed Rail) construction zone, and will be due to completion in 2026.
Want to get a panic attack at 07:00am?
This is certainly guaranteed with industrial size jackhammer 5 metres from your lovely tiny, claustrophobic paper thin wall 2x3 sqm room.
Early morning I woke up with my room shaking, extremely loud noise, had a panic, looked out the window: HS2.
£202 per week on a 50 weeks contract? You can find a better nicer place/studio flat for less.
I failed my 2 of mymodules because of how loud it is, some of the residents have no respect, but the management is worst, they never do anything no matter if your life is at risk or not.
Safety? Forget about it, since the HS2 has taken over the area, they constantely close roads and paths making it instead of the 10 minutes walk from the station that they advertise, a 20 minutes of fearful walk.
Kitchen is filthy, bathrooms is so disgusting I have started to take showers at uni and at work PS: I have found a sanitary pad full of blood stuck on the shower wall on a couple of occasions.
Staff is disrespectful.
In summer you will boil, because they don’t take away the window limiters.
This place made my life hell.

excellent service

A great location for students, has shops nearby, cafes and supermarkets. 20-25 minutes walk to North Greenwich and Cutty Sark. Rooms are clean, bright and cozy, en-suite kitchen and bathroom are clean as well. I would definetly recommend this place.

This accommodation has been amazing, the room has been very comfortable and it has easy access to university of Greenwich. Really happy with my decision!

The Cube Greenwich has become my second home for the last 6 months. I have been having an amazing experience, the room is very comfy and spacious. Important to note, the Cube staff is extremely friendly. I really enjoy my stay and would definitely recommend you to become a part of out Cube Greenwich family!

Don't book this place.... it's the worst place ever! Everything is broken (kitchen, fridge, bed, cupboard..).At the beginning of the year, everyone had to change rooms and move again because most of the rooms are broken. It was a mess. The rooms were so dirty. There was mold in the fridge it was sticky, and I could find hair everywhere. When I called someone to help me, they said it is my problem. There are fire alarms all the time and also water failures. Days without water. Since the reception is only open for a short time, no one can help. Moreover, it's really noisy. This building is trouble.

The worst situation ever... i booked the room from the beginning of september and the day of check in was on 18 of September. When i arrived my bed was broken. You cant even sit on it. They said that they will fixed it. But after two days they keep saying that they dont know when exactly it will be. Moreover, they said that its still possible to sleep on that broked bed because previous student lived there. So i said that they can sit on it, and check. They refused to check. The reception works only from 10-14 pm and after that you are not able to ask someone for help. Dont book this place ever. They are unreliable and not responsible company at all. Book in advance another accommodations but this is the worst choice Ive ever made

Nice staff but not nice room. Lights broken, worst matras and pillows ever even though I'm not picky on that. Not well clean and I don't mean the dust but the toilet, hair in the shower and on the ceiling (yes yes). The card to enter the building and your room function after the 5th attempt to open the door. Staff is though not committed to help and makes you feel like you can't complain without being an arrogant picky person. Were not open to comments in order to improve their establishment. Location is good though, but i wouldn't recommend this place.

Chapter Lewisham is a great place for students of Goldsmiths College, and Greenwich University. The halls are clean and reception is 24/7. Most of
the staff are very courteous and friendly. You can get either a shared or private room. They call them suites but the private rooms are really just that - a room with an attached bathroom and a kitchenette. Still, it’s ideal for one person. The top floors give great views of Canary Wharf, which was a major highlight in choosing this place (please see the photos). Note though that Lewisham is not the safest of neighbourhoods but it’s not crazy either. The ASDA and the Lewisham stations are minutes walk from Chapter, making this a very convenient location. The common areas are air conditioned and heated - depending on the weather - and the gym is a great addition. All in all a great place. I enjoyed my time here.

I stayed here for my first year of university. From the day I moved in I was told that if there were any faults anywhere in my room to let the staff know within 24 hours so that they could rectify and fix it. To which I listed that my heating in my radiator didn’t work along with other things, they fixed the other things but never mentioned my heating. when I enquired about it I just got told I never said anything. I kept going back to reception to try and sort it but they didn’t believe that I had no heating due to the snow and was just laughed at by the staff. Still to this day there is none. Apart from bad staff and faults everywhere and the impulsive and loud “cleaners”. It is local and very close to Greenwich, right next to the dlr train station which is handy and as far as student halls go it wasn’t loud. Kitchen and rooms were a nice size and quite spacious, is on the pricey side though. However if your choice is between this and Cutty Sark halls, I would recommend this as cutty sark is a dump with rats and fire alarms going off every night. Overall it is not too bad, good experience with a good location but staff and “cleaners” are rude and unknowledgeable about the place.

The accommodation is good value for money. It is located in such a safe and quiet area in zone 2 where you can get to anywhere in central London in 15-20 mins. The building is also safe with security doors need your room card. Reception office is helpful and friendly. My emails of inquiry are always answered within a couple of days.

I frequently refer to my hall of residence as “low cost accommodation”: persistent plumbing issues (leaky toilets for over 5 months, episode of 4 days no hot water...), staff regularly claim “rule-changes”, for example concerning guests (and other clauses contradicting original contract agreed upon). Little to no ventilation in kitchen and bathrooms. Perhaps more shockingly, instances of near domestic abuse by members of staff have been reported to me by friends living here. Equally, property has been stolen from courtyard, without any compensation from admin. Positive aspects include great sound insulation and radiators work, beds comfortable and great location.

There is nobody on reception when you need anything. There is no security. There has been an ongoing toilet problem with leaks in the rooms and carpets are wet but they don’t do anything about it. They make rules up as they go along and say it is in the contract when it isn’t (eg it doesn’t say anywhere you are not allowed friends over but apparently when your friends travel to London to stay with you they get turned away at the gate due to new made up rules). There was also no hot water for 4 days a few weeks ago and we got little more than an email to say sorry.

Fantastic value accommodation. The building is in a incredible location, <5 minutes walk to the tube station and high street. Best value accommodation inside of zone 2. The rooms are nice and spacious and most of the staff are incredibly friendly

Comfortable accommodations housing students during the school terms, and available for conference attendees and the public during summer.
A new building with key card entry, 24 hour security, and security cameras in public areas for your peace of mind.
Accommodations include studios with your own kitchen and bathroom, to bedrooms sharing a living room and a larger kitchen.
Clean and well maintained, with attentive and friendly staff in reception.
Highly recommend if you are studying in University of Greenwich as the Naval College campus is a 15 min walk away, and the Stockwell Street Library just 5 min away.

The rooms are decent sized, but the design of the flats is horrible. The common spaces do not encourage socialising. All materials are garbage and half of the rooms are directly facing the DLR line, so it is very noisy.
