Fit4Dance is such an amazing place. The owner Laci has a beautiful heart and for over 10 years has work hard to create community space that feels like a second home to some really dope people who share the love of dance, fitness, and social awesomeness. The instructors are really good at making you feel comfortable. They meet you where you are and lovingly push you to grow beyond your own limits. The studio staff make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. There are so many different classes you can take and they all bring something special for all levels. Laci is also always adding new opportunities both in person and virtually. (🤗That means you can be apart of this community from another state). I discovered this community almost two years ago, and the only regret I have is not discovering it sooner. The people who go here are a whole vibe and they contribute to what makes this an amazing social environment. I have met so many new people that I now call friends. We laugh together, we honor one another, we support and encourage each other, and of course we DANCE. 💃🏾

Love Brooklyn Ninja Academy! My son did the summer camp and now a weekly class. The teachers are extremely helpful and responsible. We will be back again!

I joined Fit4Dance in March and it has been the best thing I did in 2023! It is my new home away from home I gained a new family. Moreover, I have enjoyed the fitness classes and have really challenged myself in a couple of dance classes ;) I appreciate the diversity of its clientele in terms of their racial/ethnic backgrounds, age ranges and the varying dance skill levels. It’s a super welcoming and joy filled place. Step up and step into a loving safe space where you can advance not only your personal health and fitness but your total wellbeing through many enjoyable events and services to community!

What an amazing idea! Our child loves the classes here! Friendly and professional staff support a safe space for children to take healthy risks and learn new things! I cannot recommend Gymies highly enough!!

This is disappointing!!!! I was so happy to leave a great review my first visit. I been to this location 3 times. I was greeted by rivka.The first two time was good. Unfortunately my last visit will be our last. We usually visit on a Friday. This past Wednesday 12/27/23 was awkward and uncomfortable. The front desk person Autumn definitely made me feel unwelcome. She was rude the second we walk though the door. She attempted to charge my card again after I told her my reservation was transferred from last week
redreservation. After we got passed that the people who were inside leave once we were heading in to the play area. No problem I let it go and hope it's just me overthinking. One women and her daughter stayed. Two more people entered with they children it being to get awkward.
The reason for seeking this kind of play area was to allow a safe space for my child to play. At the same time gain community where she can explore new environments. unfortunately this situation leaves me feeling very uncomfortable and I never want my child to feel like she is unwelcome. The parents and the children there that day eventually made us feel like they didn't want to talk to us and a bigger child ran past my child and knocked her down so obviously now I don't feel like it's a safe space for my daughter. the parent never made an attempt to even apologize. she pretended as if we weren't standing right there and both seen it happen, because I'm of A different race of majority of the people who come there I don't want to feel like it's because of my race. I've lived in New York City all my life and I've never been treated like this before.
so for this reason I will no longer bring my child here. This is not a place for community if you are not Jewish. So anyone who is Black just know that you are not welcome and they will definitely make it known.
To the owner of this company. I would definitely suggest cleaning the mats and opening a window. it definitely is a foul smell of feet. The mats clearly have not been wiped down. and it is very hot and humid.

The classes here are so much FUN! The instructors are talented and AMAZING! I’ve taken Lit Fit, Haitian, Tap, Soca/Clash Cardio & newly added, Majorette! I love coming to F4D and being a part of the community of great people there.

I tried this months ago btw just writing a review now! I went to several of the classes and they were fun so I'd give 4 stars for the instructors especially the fusion ones! 5 starts for the hip hop and cardio classes! Those instructors are incredible. And the location is perfect if you want to get some nice Haitian food after or before class!

The adult classes had a ton of variety and were in the evening too! The Haitian and hip hop ones were memorable.

Just giving 2 stars bc the threats weren't ideal. I have been told I look a lot like someone else who comes to class ( Olu specifically as owner knows )

Especially bc there is only 1 coed restroom if I recall well. The threat that was made during the 4 week session dance course not some bathroom

I originally came to this place as a recommendation from my old trainer Raul. When I found out he was back to training at a new spot, I definitely had to come and check it out. So glad I did cause I really got a good workout. This place is great!!!! The vibe, the decor, cleanliness and all the instructors are amazing!!! Definitely recommend!!

Amazing Gym. I've been training here fore more than four years with both Igor and Alex. Very clean, not crowded.

A bunch of Ego pumped by Zero knowledge. Walked in thinking that I'd be joining since it's located in my neighborhood, but once I noticed the trainer Igor was advising someone on exercise (deadlifts) completely wrong (know it because I do this 9 years and have been working with high class trainers, I got a bit disappointed, but when wanted to sign up and heard the trainer offering paths of growth (not so legal and healthy) I said NO. Be aware.

I think that this batting cage has been a really good experience for my kids. It is so fun to hit with them! Brooklyn Sluggers has very good service and I really recommend this batting cage

Fitness Gallery is my favourite gym spot to go to. Tanya is an exceptional trainer that changed my body for the better. I feel the most fit in this time of my life. 🥰🎊

Playground Brooklyn is by far the best gym I’ve been to. The gym has great energy and makes you feel your best self the second you step inside the playground. Pete is very professional, experienced and always pushes me to be my best self. Pete is not only a trainer he is a life coach who trains your mind and body! He always switches up the workouts to make sure we are challenged. The gym is always clean and organized. I highly recommend everyone tries out a class to get the best workout, promise you’ll be hooked!

Not your basic gym. Top quality equipment, great facility, unique design, variety of classes. It’s is the cleanest gym I have ever seen. Pete is a true professional who motivates you to grow, to become stronger and to be the best version of yourself. I have been working out there for 6 month now, and results are amazing.

We love this place. The coaches are fantastic. My kid feels challenged and has learned new skills he can use both inside and out of the gym.

I've been to a lot of gyms and PGBK is by far the best gym that I've been to. Classes are open to all levels and there are so many options to choose from. The gym is extremely clean and the aesthetic is the absolute dopest I have ever seen in a gym.

Pete is extremely knowledgeable. He designs each class in such a strategic way to help you achieve your goals. Pete pushes you to your limits and he truly believes that you can do it!

Something I really appreciate is that Pete takes safety very seriously. I've had several knee injuries and because of this I have constant knee issues. I let Pete know about this and he always modifies exercises for me that strain the knees so that way I don't get injured. There aren't many instructors out there that personalize workouts for you like this especially in a class setting and it is something I am extremely thankful for.

If you're thinking about giving PGBK a try don't hesitate. My only regret is that I didn't join sooner!

Love this gym! Have been going here since March 2023 and absolutely enjoy it and looking forward for every workout. Workouts are unmatched. Gym is super clean, design is dope, all equipment is brand new. Main coach will definitely push you to become you best self.

This is a hidden gym here in Brooklyn. Some of the best work out classes and very affordable. The space is clean, inviting and Pete is super professional. I’ve done both private and group class sessions. Highly recommend for both beginners and those advanced.

PGBK is hands down the best gym I’ve been to for getting results. Pete’s training and coaching cannot compare. And the facility itself is modern, clean, and far better than any gym I’ve been to. I highly recommend anyone looking to take their fitness to the next level to visit Pete at Playground.

I’d reconsider choosing this gym as a place to enhance your fitness. I stopped by for a tour and was immediately turned off by the owners egotistical and bigot mannerisms but also discouraged by their overpriced membership fees.

The only thing worse than the facility, which is little more than a net hung up from the ceiling in a warehouse, are the dreadful people that run the place. Avoid at all cost. Better off playing in a park.

Why does it look so musty and old? There is rust on every machine and everything looks beat up. NYSC please update this gym. It NEEDS IT! Don’t go with bare minimum standards. Go above and beyond so that more people will sign up and then you would start making more cash.

I recently traveled to Brooklyn and spent a week dancing at Fit4Dance and it was one of the best weeks of my life! I have been a virtual student since April 2020 and I finally got to meet Laci and take Lit Fit in person - a dream come true!! I enjoyed all the classes I took: Lit Fit, Diva La Femme, Jazz Dance, and Rabòday Fit. Even if you are a beginner, you are welcome to go at your own pace and just do your best. The instructors are supportive and kind and the classes are SO FUN! I have taken fitness and dance classes all over as it's my favorite thing to do when I travel and I promise you will LOVE Fit4Dance like I do. Can't wait to return!

Good selection of exercise machines with a few around the perimeter of the 1/8 mile indoor track. Very spacious and clean. There are a variery of daily exercise classes as well. The Summer program is good if you want to try out your neighborhood YMCAs for $250 (individual) or $360 (family) for 3 months. You can go to any Ymca within your neighborhood under the summer plan.

Always a great experience here! I have been going here for years and I love everything that they do! Coach Rich is the best!

They lost my reservation that I had made earlier in the week, so after the multiple trains + bus commute my party was turned away.

I asked for a make good for a future date since they could not accommodate us due to their error. They refused saying when they mess up people’s reservations it evens out for them because other people don’t show up for their reservations. It was a terrible and defensive experience. The business is unorganized and in my experience did not have accountability or care for their customers.

If you make an appointment, be ready to risk them not honoring it and on popular times leaving without batting.

Way better than the children's museum. I've been here once with ym 1 year old for open play (10$). It was nice to have something to do with her indoors. I personally think there could be a little more interactive play options but it was still nice.

I used to like this gym, but things got progressively worse over the past few months.
NO towel service.
NO paper towels (For environmental reasons, they claim. They provide a rug and disinfectant to wipe down equipment, but the rug gets used repeatedly and is soiled with other people’s sweat.)
NO bags in the locker rooms (you have to ask for it at the front desk).
NO steam room and sauna, not sure why they list them among the amenities, it’s been months. (There’s a Department of Health Notice on the doors—yikes!).
It’s as bad as it gets. Save your money and pick another gym.

Unfortunately declining. I was a member pre pandemic and thought it was great. Went for a trial today (Feb 2023) as I was thinking to rejoin a gym but wanted to scope it out first. Sauna/steam room closed in both men's and women's locked room - note said due to health commissioner order since late October. Free weights no longer have a rack and are floating throughout the space. Towels no longer offered, and locker rooms were lacking (number of broken locks, messy). This is NYSC's only location in Brooklyn right now and they aren't doing much to spruce up the place. Finally the building is due to be demoed next fall and there was zero mention of it when speaking with assistant on signing in and asking a few questions about current memberships. DII downstairs has been excellent noting extension of their lease etc. I've heard NYSC plan to lease in the new building, but lack of transparency and upfront communication about it concerning.

It’s a safe place for toddlers and older kids to play. They can climb and run about. They get to interact with other kids. The staff members are very welcoming.

This gym is great! It has two floors; one with free weights and one with machines. They have all the machines your heart desires and the dumbbells go up to 120 lbs which is plenty. I see dudes who should be pro lifting here, so you know it's legit. They also have a studio downstairs with a heavy bag and other equipment to do solo workouts or group workout classes. The locker rooms are nice and clean and it has steam rooms, saunas, and showers. The place in general is near spotless and the staff work hard to keep it that way.

Speaking of the staff... they are amazing! Everyone who greets me up front are the most kind and warm people who truly make this a great gym. I usually see Hernan, Ramel, and James - these three are the awesome and they are hilarious! I highly recommend anyone in Park Slop or the surrounding areas to go to this gym, because you'll have all the equipment you need in a clean, safe, and welcoming gym!

Best Women Circus Classes and best instructors!

I have been working out at New York Sports clubs since around 1999, and at the Park Slope location for about the last 12 years. Over that time I've made great friends, both among the staff and gym members. I can gripe with complaints about the gym, just like one can do with anything, but ultimately decided on 5 stars because it gives me what I am looking for. I have a clean place in which to workout. They have all the amenities one looks for a gym; ample cardio, dumbbells that go to 120 pounds, all the free weight machines you need, machines on which to workout, a studio with a heavy bag and classes, a cycling room, as well as showers, steam and sauna if needed. The gym is equipped with disinfectants and hand soap, which can often come in handy. The space is quite sizable, especially when compared with others in the area, and it is conveniently located. The staff has always been top notch, from those who first greet you, to the managers and trainers on the floor, to those making sure the place remains clean. As with anything, we all feel we can do something better. Maybe newer machines or even more open space than the already large space they has. Maybe a paint job, or bringing back towels (even for a fee!). But the gym doesn't NEED all that. It is reasonably priced for its location and the services it provides. Granted, like many businesses it is still recovering from a pandemic, and that's OK...I'm still able to get in my full workout each and every time I am there.

As someone who is super insecure, I always found going to the gym intimidating. I would sign up but never actually go. But this time around, I find myself actually eager to go to gym and I would say it’s because of the staff. Front desk is super friendly when you’re checking in AND when you’re leaving.
I’ve never seen a gym manager go so hard for his clients. Ramel is the gym manager and my personal trainer. I’ve noticed that just about every member, whether coming or going would be greeted by him. I would consider myself a beginner when it comes to working out. He definitely made me feel as ease and made working out enjoyable all while making sure he was pushing me to do better. He’s very honest and realistic with you when it comes to your goals and what’s achievable which I very much appreciate since he’s not giving me bs or wasting my time which equals my money. I would definitely recommend this gym to any of my shy/insecure folks.

Our son loves this place... and it's really helped him develop his core strength. The facility is great, clean, and well run. On top of that, the coaches are fantastic. (Wish I had coaches like that as a kid.) As a family, we look forward to going every week. Can't recommend it enough.

Our daughter loves it here so much! We used to go to their location in Manhattan and we were so excited to find out that they opened a location in Brooklyn which is much closer to our home. To be honest we would go no matter the distance as we have such a great experience here.The teachers are supportive, super encouraging and fun. They really challenge the kids and teach them ways to improve their strength so they can continue to get better. It's a great workout!

Excellent experience! Hosted a birthday party for my son and 20 rowdy boys and everyone had a very good time. Coaches were absolutely amazing (high energy, organized) and took the lead and parents were able to sit back and relax.

Always improving. Small weight rooms and equipment is strangely spaced all around the massive space but it has everything you need. Staff at the front desk are always lovely. Go in the evenings or else be greeted by swarms of screaming children. But it’s a YMCA, what do you expect ?

I was so disappointed with our experience here at the YMCA SUMMER CAMP. My daughter who is 4 years old and has been in daycare/preschool since she was 2 years old complained about her experience on a daily basis. The whole reason why I thought this camp would be a good fit for us was because their camp was based on an air conditioned facility and not having to go outside in inclement weather like a heat wave. My daughter who is 4 years old ended up in the EMERGENCY ROOM because she was exposed to 94f degree weather at the playground and didn’t have any sunblock on. The camps response was that my child didn’t want sunblock on her skin. I didn’t understand why the children were at the park any way when there was a weather advisory and they have a perfect air conditioned facility to set up activities indoors. When I picked up my daughter that day I noticed bumps on her skin and spoke with her counselor and the supervisor and no one had noticed it until I picked her up which was pretty alarming to me that she had a rash all over her face, arms, legs and feet and no one noticed. I also think that the director of the program should invest in a wagon or shopping cart to have a counselor or a supervisor pull the children's book bags and lunch boxes on their walk to 9th street. Again you have 4yr olds carrying a bookbag full of belongings and lunch boxes in the heat all the way to 9th street. With the money the program charges I think they can afford a wagon or a shopping cart. And another complain I had was that there was no food or drinks provided from the DOE because they lacked personnel. Again, with all the money that we pay for our children to attend the camp I think this program should have been better organized and prepared. Another red flag was that since my child didn’t even want to go back I had to find another daycare that would take her for the last week and the YMCA didn’t even contact me to see why my child was absent. I’m sure they probably did not even notice. So I had to pay another center for the last week because my child didn’t even want to go back. In conclusion, I would not recommend this camp for a 4 yr old and will not be returning in the future.

Omg! Tido (not sure if I’m spelling his name correctly) was a unbelievable instructor, he taught me everything from the stance to how to keep a leveled swing, then he threw me all types of pitches fastballs curveballs sliders, and he even showed me how to grip each pitch and how to throw it, Brooklyn sluggers is the best batting cage in New York

Convenient location, reasonable prices, relaxed attitude, and individual or group lessons. This is a great find for baseball players of all ages and skill levels.

They have some quarter-fed games available plus a selection of drinks and snacks to keep your player going.

When I'm feeling down or need a place of community and love. I head to fit4dance, where the instructor push you to be your best and the amazing people that comes through that door. A place where you always feel welcomed. A big 10/10.
Still after 5 years, I still enjoy dancing at f4d and meeting new people. It's still a place where I feel very welcomed and loved. Always feel amazing being there.

If you really love baseball or your kid loves baseball this is where you come. You have such a great range of incredible and caring coaches and fun, quality clinics. Also great for just swing by batting cages or even birthday parties!

Great lil kids gym located in Crown Heights! It has a warm environment, good class options for kids and a nice new location!

As with any other Brooklyn locations I have mixed feelings about this gym. It is spacious and have some good and unique machines. But free weights are understock. I am thinking of switching to other gym.

A very cool re-purposing of an old armory. The large open area makes for a big indoor track with spots for basketball. The staff is helpful and the child care is great. The down side is there isn’t a ton of equipment and there isn’t a real locker room. For a limited but affordable Y, this is a great place.

Who visits and goes to zumba?! I do! Laci has such a down to earth calming nature. It is evident from her client interaction and her energetic classes that she is very passionate about dance. It's more of a family party than strangers in a dance class. I really like the vibe.

This place is very clean and ran in a professional manner. The instructors are top notch . Mike . M cares about his kids he teaches and instills the basics which builds a strong foundation. He continues to tweak and correct as they grow as ball players. JB and JT also amazing.
