We feel incredibly grateful to have our mum with us after her near-fatal fall in February 2022 in Guildford. Now 96, she loves visiting Rhodes Central, just a short walk from her aged care home. Her favorites there are the dumplings and fish sour soup. Mum absolutely enjoys the short walk from her aged care.

Been a regular at this fine establishment since it first opened in Rhodes. They are one of the best and most consistent “cha charn tengs” (Hong Kong cafes) in Sydney.
They have a very extensive menu of authentic HK dishes, so much so, that you can have something completely different for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Not only do they serve the HK cafe classics but they also have live seafood and serve dishes similar to a Chinese seafood restaurant which most don’t.
Best items to choose from are their HK milk tea/coffee, pineapple bun, French toast, baked pork chop rice and fried noodles. Majority of the items are fantastic but there are a few that are hit and miss. I’ve been to many HK cafes in Sydney and in HK and this is definitely one of the best around.
Service is very friendly and atmosphere is relaxed without ever feeling rushed which may also be due to the fact that it is in a less frequented part of Rhodes so there’s less foot traffic.
Very sad to see such a staple in Rhodes no longer serving what is one of the best casual Cantonese cuisines in the area. However, will definitely be visiting the other branches of this store in the future.

I recommend the Chongqing Street Noodles - the texture is just right and the sesame flavour enriches the soup. Have not tried much else but this dish is solid.

Noodles are cooked to a nice texture and broth tastes decently aromatic

Food was soo slow to come out. We waited 45mins. Other tables that ordered after us were served first and we saw at least 2 other tables leave and ask for refunds because of the slow service. We decided to wait but the food was also terrible, with soup of every single noodles we ordered all over the sides of the bowls. Probably the worst restaurant experience i’ve had in years. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money

A good spot for HK food in a quiet but lively area.
The pineapple bun with butter was crispy and hot on the outside. The baked rice was flavourful but the chicken and pork was not as tender or juicy as I would have hoped.
I would eat here again to try other dishes or one of their lunch deals.

Classic Hong Kong eats!
Serving a massive menu, Hong Kong Cafe delivers in quantity rather than quality. The pineapple bun sandwiches are a must try - a buttery crispy sensation! Our main, the baked pork chop dish was passable but not mindblowing. To my pleasant surprise the Hong Kong style tea they serve was not too sweet, it was a welcome accompaniment to the rather heavy food.

This place offers good authentic local Hong Kong street food. A bit hard to find - you need to walk up staircases, located in the courtyard of the complex!!

Awesome Honkie-style Canto food! We are regulars and absolutely love this casual easy-going place! They have great set menu options at great affordable prices. Those who love their live seafood such as mud crab, barramundi, lobster etc, they also do it well here! Better than other local restaurants nearby offering similar dishes!

I had the best pork knuckle noodle in Sydney!!! Very generous portion for an afternoon tea set menu. 5 pieces of pork knuckle, cooked beautifully and very tender. I can tell it was a very authentic dish. Even the soup was from the pork knuckle sauce. The whole noodle soup was very flavourful and satisfying. Pairing this noodle with my favourite iced lemon tea made my day!!

We had a lunch here few weeks ago. I like the oyster sauce with vegetable & mincemeat eggplant most. And the fried tofu with salted egg yolk tasted good as well but a bit dry.
They have special lunch menu for different types of group numbers. The set meal also included a cup of milk tea, for free. But if you want to change to ice lemon tea or others, it’ll add extra $3.
This is a HongKong style restaurant, pineapple Bun and milk tea are quite popular here. But the location of this restaurant is not too obvious.

I've become a loyal customer since I found that Hong Kong Cafe is available at Rhodes. They offered some of the best range of HongKongnese food with reasonable prices and big portions. Food is always hot and fresh. I've dined with them for both lunch and dinner. Now, my family and I visit them almost every week.
The service of the team there is amazing too. They are friendly and helpful.
The only downside (could be a plus side) is the restaurant does not locate in the main shopping centres, and can be missed by people who park their cars mainly at shopping centres. However, if you opt for a quieter dining experience, the restaurant is only a few minutes walk from Rhodes train station or Rhodes Central. You will just have to get your google map on to find your bearings to the shop.
Favourite dishes are :
Set lunch, pineapple bun , iced red bean drink , Hong Kong style milk tea

My wife and I are here a couple of times after working out.
Pretty good noodles for the price.
I recommend the Mongolian lamb noodles and Chongqing signature noodles.
We also had century egg with capsicum and the beef rice noodles with pickles (not a fan of this one)

I like the crispy fried chicken noodle. Signature noodle and beef fingers noodle are also good. If you are here first time, can ask for mild spicy.

4.3 - Up from 3.7. Yay! Friendly and Welcoming service today, and always polite. The Menu has been worked on and there are more things to try in-Store. The latest thing I had was Signature Noodles with Sesame Sauce and Mince, and I enjoyed the soup so much, I had some Seafood dumplings in the soup. I have also tried Braised Beef Noodle ($16.80 - Noodle is soft like Instant Noodle but a little firmer/better quality, Mild Soup and some Beef pieces - Not bad).

4.7 - Really delicious Cold Noodles. I have also tried the Fish, Preserved Egg, and Okra. Service isn't bad, and they have water on the side. Lots of interesting little dishes to try, as well as main dishes (which are mainly chilli hot but there are also enough that aren't)

I have ordered takeaway from here a couple of time. I love the noodle dishes.
Wait time is never too long. And they are having more staff now which makes everything even faster. I do recommend ordering ahead to pick up. It would save your time and at the same time you could take time to choose wisely.
