Major selling point of authentic taste, and that promise was mostly delivered.

Three dishes are excellent, better than anywhere else, and will return for more:
Shredded chicken has very good texture and excellent flavor. No ginger dip provided because it's already mixed in.
Beef offal has sweetbread (pancreas ) , tripe and stomach. Very good flavor and good sauce.
Lamb hotpot is very good to excellent, miso dip will persuade people who don't like the lamby gamey to love it.

Three are recommended, but similar could be available elsewhere :
Stir fry pork liver has good temperature control resulting in good texture, but the sauce is a little heavy for my taste.
Long beans with minced pork was good to fair.
Hot pot rice was fair. Good flavor but I want more crispy burnt rice at the bottom.

Only dish I don't recommend is the noodles in Peking sauce. The flavor was off, not what I expected.

Also tried beef offal rice noodles soup. Good to very good. And the serving is huge. Best buy.

The steamed egg white desert is fair to good. Not too sweet.

The chef has a tendency for bigger flavors. Perfect for anyone who does not like blandness. Overall strongly recommended.
Cheap delicious Chinese food. The employees always fill up the containers with as much food as possible, so you definitely get bang for your buck.

Small spot but amazing Chinese dishes.
I ordered the beef shank noodle soup with the flat noodles (you get to choose which ones you want). First of all, it’s huge. In it came with 2 large bone in shanks which were tender and delicious! It wasn’t spicy but it was very flavorful. I added chili oil to spice it up. Next time I’ll just order it spicy. I was really impressed with this place. Def going back there for more!

The beef tripes are tasty. Lo main (Noodle) not bad
Our favorite go-to Cantonese restaurant! The food tastes homemade, consistently good, and service always comes with a smile.

We have been loyal patrons from when they were still in Hong Kong Plaza in Rowland Heights, and glad they reopened in Hacienda Heights.

Our favorites include their Traditional Poached Chicken, Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings, Claypot Rice and Sweet and Sour Pork. All are excellent!

The hand shredded chicken is delicious. My sister bought some once from the old location, and I was disappointed when google maps said you guys were closed. But you reopened closer to me, so I will be back to get more of that delicious hand shredded chicken and try some other dishes as well.

Monday 12/4/23 Dinner at Earthern Restaurant in Hacienda Heights with my cousin. Good Chinese foods. One the the best jelly fish dish I’ve ever had; crunchy, sweet, salty, and flavorful paired with cucumbers. The shredded pork with bamboo shoots were savory with the crunch of the bamboo shoots paired it with perfectly.

The restaurant has a nice and clean decor.

The beef brisket noodle perfectly balancing the tangy and beef flavors that are synonymous with Cantonese cuisine. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite.

Opting for the half chicken dish, we were treated to a delightful presentation enhanced by the aromatic blend of ginger and scallions. The tender chicken skin, which effortlessly melted in our mouths, served as a hallmark of authentic Cantonese culinary expertise. Additionally, the clay pot rice with ribs showcased impeccable timing in its preparation, delivering a perfect balance of crispy and crunchy rice burns.

Tai Ping Sa Choi Kee is a rare gem that manages to seamlessly blend exemplary service with an unwavering commitment to authenticity. It's not just a restaurant; it's an experience that transports you to the vibrant streets of Canton with every mouthful. It is an absolute must-visit.

Worst customer service ever!👎
I walked in and seen the workers on their phones and they were immediately bothered when I was going to order. He was probably mad I took his phone time away even though it's his job to be serving people. I was rushed to pick my sides and did not even get a chance to look at the food well. I felt so uncomfortable. In the guy slammed my change on the counter instead of handing it to me and he just looked so bothered. Again, worst service ever👎👎

Really bad service, old dirty lady, never back again, you’ll know how bad they are if would like to try.
Used to eat here often but not anymore. The containers and portions have gotten smaller while the prices have gone up. Also the employees are very rude. And don't even think about asking for additional sauce packets, they will yell, we give you one! And will charge you a dollar for another sauce packet the size of ketchup packet. 🖕🖕🖕

My favorite fried spicy chicken! Very addictive. I can eat an entire plate if only my stomach can handle it. The spicy chicken and the spicy and sour cabbage are the must orders for us every time we go. They also have great cold side dishes. Good portions and very yummy!

Good restaurant to grab a quick bite to eat. They have a lot of different noodle dishes where you can select the thickness of the noodles. All of the noodles are hand made. They have dumplings and various side dishes. They also have a cold Appetizer counter where you can select different items. The cold cucumbers, seaweed and pig ear are good. Service is not very attentive and it's a smaller restaurant.

Used to know the previous owners well and loved their food growing up. I still wanted to try this place with the new owners because there are some dishes that are the same from before. The food wasn’t the same but the house special chicken seemed similar and the other foods were very good too. We just didn’t like the black sauce jajangmein, it’s definitely not Korean Chinese style like before but everything else was good. There are many Chinese restaurants in this plaza but only this place has many customers. Remember they are closed between 3-5 pm. We had dessert first at Meet Fresh waiting for them to reopen.

I've been coming here for most of my (relatively speaking) short life and they've almost always treated my family and me very well. The 蔥油餅 (scallion pancakes) are a must order i usually see it on at least 3/4 of all the tables everytime I come by, super crispy fluffy still can't replicate them myself. We always order fish dumplings and usually the house chicken or sliced beef (we used to order house chicken more cause my grandma loved it but the chicken has been becoming more and more boney/gibletty). The food is more similar to Taiwanese Chinese food. Staff is friendly (though I just let my family order i can't speak mando) and the place is fairly clean. Easily one of my favorite Chinese restaurants.

First time here, and food was amazing 😍 totally recommend this spot. The young dude that help me was very friendly.
Great place for dining. However, their prices have gone up considerably over the years. For example, a plastic (not ceramic) can of Beijing yogurt costs over $4.00 is definitely overrated! Also, service speed is somewhat slow too although they make the noodles where we can see the process.

i could give 0 star . The walnut shrimp is definitely unhealthy oil made . The waitress here is so unrespectable. i'm a chinese so i know how it supposed to cook , restaurant is so under quality pls forget about coming here . The food and experience are just terrible .
By reading the bad reviews, I noticed they ordered the wrong dishes. We usually stick with the most popular dishes and sure enough, they are delicious.

First, we order the cold dishes by the display. The shredded potato is a must. Next is the seawood. And third, we usually pick a spicy meat. I love their chilli sauce. It has a nice kick of spiceness and flavor.

For main entree, I love the chicken noodle soup. It's perfect on a rainy day. The noodle is so light that just melts in your mouth.
Their fried spare ribs are delicious as well. We devour the whole dish.
Another dish we love is the fish fillet with tofu.

My favorite noodle house outside of NY/NJ. Been going here for decades, ever since the Malan on Garfield closed down.

Some of the best, qq (chewy) -iest hand-pulled noodles, especially their triangle noodles, and their soups and chow mein flavors are mild and delicious when I'm not in the mood for the heat bomb at Rockstar/Even Life, my other staple favorite noodle place.

Their chung yao bang (green onion/scallion pancakes) are good too but I'd rather get the ones at Even Life tbh. Stick to the noodles. My favorites are the triangle with the beef soup and the thick round in the pork chow mein. I save my belt noodle stomach for EL so can't say how the wide flat noodles are here.

Finally, I adore the Hispanic guy who pulls the noodles here. It's a dying art, I hope he's paid well.

Visiting another business around town and decided to try this restaurant. Excellent food, fresh ingredients, and excellent service. It was early in the afternoon, so we were the first ones in. It was amazing to hear our food being cooked on the wok amd the aroma reach our table. The green onion pancakes are delicious, better than other places around this area. Highly recommend.

I frequent China Wok at least 2-4x a month since 2017. I’ve been coming since 2010 or before. Never had issues. Not sure why there are so many complaints on google review. I want to believe people; but then I have to recognize my own experience. It’s always been excellent.
I am an Asian food fanatic. Especially Chinese fast food. I’ve tried other Chinese fast food joints. Absolutely NOWHERE compares to china wok for my taste buds.
Finally reviewing because I need to defend my friends over at China Wok. Keep doing what y’all doing!

Located in the plaza with USPS and Vons on Hacienda Heights, you will find a delicious noodle shop that prides itself on hang pulled noodles! They make it fresh before your eyes and eagerly waiting stomach. You can hear them smack the noodles on the counter as the lamían noodle maker expertly pulls the flour into tasty al dente noodles to perfection. Customers have the option to choose the shape of noodles (round, triangle, flat) and size (small/thin, medium, and large).

The big plus about this place is the portion is huge. One bowl of noodles is good for at least two people.
Noodles were fresh and chewy in soup. The soup base was good but not the best.
The cold noodles texture was too tough to eat. I love my noodles to be chewy but not too tough. The noodles in the soup had the perfect texture though.
Side dish: seaweed was really good with the vinegary taste. The red oil pork tummy wasn't spicy and it was really tasty. The tofu skin had no taste and the texture was too hard.
I guess the server was too busy to serve all the tables on a busy weekend, so he was a little too busy to answer questions properly.

I'll still go back to give the stir fried knife-cut noodles a try and order the side dishes along with it.

Decent Taiwanese food in Hacienda Heights area. I understand this is a go to Taiwanese restaurant for the locals.

I too like their food. We ordered 3 dishes that included egg plant, pot stickers, and a mushu pork. The first twos were very tasty and flavorful, but the mushu pork was a bit bland with no taste. Normally this dish should have plenty of hoisin sauce but it seemed like they were very stingy on the sauce.

Besides the above three dishes, the restaurant seems to offer many popular Taiwanese food. So if you have a craving for Taiwanese food, this is a place that should be able to satisfy you needs.

The reason I gave this a three stars because the service is terrible. The two girls there were very rude. Our patronage was seen as an inconvenience for them. When we asked for the menu, they didn’t even acknowledge our existing, we were transparent to them. We felt ignored and humiliated. It took them a long time to produce our bill. I am not coming back for sure. We don’t need the abuse.

Earthen has changed owners & from what I can tell, cooks. B4 Covid, I've always ordered the Sliced Chicken in Sichuan sauce & steamed rice. I went back and the plate was a bit bland with lots of oil in the 'sauce'. It was ok but overly oily. See pic.
Note: Lunch specials are avail Mon - Fri.

I have never been to a Chinese restaurant this bad! This is the worst. The Beef Broccoli sauce tasted like it was made with packet sauce sold at grocery stores. The orange chicken was tasteless and runny almost slimy the chicken was not fried or battered. For what it was very overpriced. Awful!
Okay so I’ve been coming here for 15 years and this place is THE BEST CHINESE FOOD YOU’LL FIND AROUND!! Seriously, mouth watering quality and it never disappoints. ALWAYS consistent flavor. NO wait times. GREAT for family/friend gatherings or by yourself. FRIENDLY STAFF. Highly recommend to anyone. Must-try dishes: bean curd with pork, green onion pancake.

We got wonton soup, stinky tofu, sesame noodles, fish dumplings, and another thing i don't remember. The food isn't bad but they're a lot of better options in the area even in the plaza. It's not super flavorful but it's good enough. The staff can be aggressive on some days vs others. The resturaunt is cute though.

The only place in SoCal that can make a great hot pot sausage rice with pot stick rice. 10stars!!!!!!!!!
Good canton food.

Clay pot rice is exactly what I was craving. I got the preserved meat. Yum.

Veggies with fried fish is good
Salt and pepper calamari is one of the best I had
Salt chicken is very good

Singapore vermicelli is good not to dry and has good “wok” flavor.

Update: Ordered a beef roll, turns out it's icy cold inside with a hot wrapper on the outside. Acknowledging the staffs about the issue and we were told it's normal. We literally had it yesterday, and it wasn't icy cold on the inside. Very inconsistent quality with extremely health hazard practice.

This place serves northern type of Chinese food, which is mostly bun, dumplings, noodle with some other small side dishes. The spicy tofu we ordered was small in portion. However the beef noodle, dumplings, onion pancake and pot stickers taste decent. The portion is also generous. The place is clean. Plenty of parking as well.

Food is a bit on the salty side. The onion pancake and house chicken are good. I didn't care for the other food ordered. Pan fried dumplings were not too salty but the steamed ones were salty without flavor.
Clean, authentic decor, pleasant setting, friendly waitresses, spicy authentic Hunan flavors! Mapo tofu, walnut shrimps and Special Seethed Fish to die for ... at a very amazing price and generous portion.

The best Spicy Food Restaurant in Southern California in the Valley rivaling Z&Y in Chinatown San Francisco. Gotta try this, feel really cleansing after dining here! The restaurant interior decor is NOT the usual tacky Chinese, this one is tastefully done however simple though not fancy at all. The outside restaurant front is part of a plaza difficult to enter from freeway 60 exit though parking is plenty and very practical as it is right in front of the restaurant. One can not find this restaurant easily thus remain a hidden jewel. The food is quality, incredibly tasting (with Szechuan super healthy hot peppers) and the waitresses are friendly (yah a much welcomed service:)

relatively quiet spot for noodles, limited parking, has a decent amount of seating, a bit pricey.
got the beef soup with small, flat noodles. came out pretty quick.
the soup base tasted very good, meat was thinly cut (almost the same thickness as the noodles) and was not dry, there was a good amount of cilantro-might be a lot for some people,

put a scoop or two of the sauce that they have near the salt and pepper shakers-scoop down to get the sauce and not just the oil. really ups the overall taste

My go to Szechuan restaurant. Great if you love spicy food. Cold appetizers are always solid and they have the best boil fish in the area. I'd skip the Spicy Wonton. That's one of their few disappointments. And like ALL good Chinese restaurants, if you go there for the service, then you don't really want good Chinese food.

Their food is very tasty and decent. Sometime, they are under staff but they often service with a smile. Their lunch special is very reasonably priced ranges around $9 / dish, which includes rice and a cold drink.
