The Yong tau foo is normal as the fish paste used probably added with enhanced flavour. Not even taste like real fish meat. Those fried liew is ok. Coffee is quite good and service is efficient

Regular customer since many years ago. Our favorite is the dry curry mee, it's comparable with those famous choice in the town. Ingredients tasted fresh & crispy. Ice blended red bean is refreshing & satisfying.

The kari meehoon kueh no more. So we order other dishes. It’s pretty tasteless and the fried stuff are a little hard.

Went there many times. I would usually order either their Laksa or Curry noodle with the side dishes. Their fried wantons are nice. Overall, services are fast. The shop is quite clean. No need to wait for long. Moreover, the drink section also serves ice shaved desserts.

Food were tasty, affordable price with generous portion. Ginger Duck Stew was wonderful - meat was tender and taste on point. Will definitely returning for more.
Tried their duck rice...nice. Should try the ice coffee. Very thick and nice.

Purposely drive another 20 mins extra from simpang pulai toll exit to here before heading to Cameron Highland. I think it is worth for the trip, they served tasty Asam Laksa/dried noodles/soup noodles/curry noodles with varieties of stuffed dishes. I like their taste and it is so tasty.

The last time I ate here was many years ago. Good that they are opened again. My family still enjoyed the dishes we ordered. My favorite are 姜茸金凤鱼,胡须鸡,沙律虾球. One of the best dinners I had in Ipoh this time

Overall: 2/10
Service: 8/10
Cleanliness:8/10

The fish meat is below average. The filling of the chilli fish meat is smudgy very disappointed. The Yong Tau Foo and the base noodle soup the broths is bland.

The cendol brown sugar the texture is gluey and the coffee a bit disappointing.

Been here twice now. The others day, and also 7 years ago!! The food was tasty now and then. Very polite service and helpful. The food was delicious especially the sweet and sour fish, the prawn and the tofu 😍😍😍 When we come back to malaysia again definitely going to come back, such a delicious taste.
Good noodle here. Famous for their roast duck too.
Light afternoon tea at Pin Sim. Apart from heavy stuff like roasted duck, char siew, wantan, fishballs and fried mee, they also sell dim sum, pau and biscuits. Today tried their kaya puff. I must say their kaya puff looks classic and tastes classic too, brings back all my childhood memories.

Famous spot for variety of stuffed veges and laksa in Menglembu. Usually crowded and may need to wait a bit for seats. Variety of iced are available too to counter hot weather.

Laksa tastes a bit diluted and not much fish flesh nowadays 😋 maybe it's late.

Still the only place to go for live Ikan Haruan in Ipoh. Their oil dipped Ikan Haruan was especially good. The meat of the fish was very springy and QQ due to extreme freshness. However, this type of fish had many fine bones especially at the abdominal area. Avoid this dish if you are dining with very old folks and young children.

Addicted to their oil dipped Ikan Haruan (油浸生鱼). Tonight, eating dinner alone and I ordered this dish again. For this fish, the asking price was RM60 per Kg.
20/8/2023 Saturday
Still ordered my favourite dish, the oil dipped ikan haruan. Fish today was only 600g, just the right size for solo diner like me. As expected, the food tasted very good, except that this type of fish had too many fine bones. One needs to have full concentration while eating.

It was two months since I last savoured Ikan Haruan. This evening, decided to go back to this restaurant again to satisfy my sudden craving for this fish. The fish they gave me this time weighted about 800g. The meat was very tasty, firm and springy as the fish was still swimming up to the very last minute. As expected, the taste was excellent. As far as I know, Wah Chai Seafood is still the only restaurant selling live ikan haruan in Ipoh after so many years.

It's the first time to go and have dinner with friends after 3 years MCO. Food was good and tasty. Prices has gone up and reasonable.
An old coffee shop selling limited Dim Sum in the morning and fried noodles with Roasted Pork, Char Siew and Duck Meat.
We ordered the pastries, fried noodles, Fried Yau Mak, Fried Intestines, Roasted Duck, Roasted Pork and Char Siew. The drinks are coffee with evaporated milk and chinese (Pu Er, Chrystanum and Licorice) tea.
Notable dishes are fried noodles and Roasted Duck.

The restaurant has been there since I was still working here and went there with my colleagues.

Now I am back with my family

Ordered Haruan fish with 3 ways of cooking whole fish (1.6kg)
Fish thick soup
Dried Chili (fish slices)
Salted Vegi soup
Some others like
Buttered mantis prawn
Tofu
Bitter bean with minced pork

Overall experience: not bad and portion is big (even we ordered small size, good!)

I went to Western and Thai restaurant. I didn't go Restaurant Fu Lim. Don't know why show details different. GPS problem. Sorry.

Seafood dishes can be improved but it's a long weekend holiday, supplies stopped and busy with customers, can't blame them. They were out of basil, tofu and too busy to do pad thai noodles. Very spicy salad and green curry pork. Love the mince pork omelette.

The bottom left corner is a dish cooked by my MIL, not bought from restaurant.

We came here following Google Reviews by local guides on our recent Ipoh Food Hunt in February 2022.

As Menglembu is one of our target areas, Kafe Diamond Kopitiam came up, and here we are! However, as we were already quite full from our last food hunt stop, we just ordered fishball from the popular noodle and "liu" stall, and the "die die must eat" recommendation rojak stall.

Fishball - just so so, not bad, but do not need to travel all the way to Ipoh or Menglembu to savour it. To be fair, we just ordered the fishball. Probably those reviews stating how good this stall is based on the whole package, i.e. noodles and "liu".

Rojak - this is the chinese fruit rojak version. If you are looking for the indian version, then wrong place. So is this rojak good? Yes, it is good. Fruits are fresh, and the crackers are crunchy hard (not easily crushed, as one needs to bite it a bit hard - it would have been better if it is less hard). What we like about this rojak, and probably what made it popular is that the stall owner is generous.with sprinkling of super tiny bits of dried shrimp. That adds to the umami of the whole rojak dish.

Verdict:
Blessed are the resident of Menglembu to have this kopitiam where they can frequent daily. As a visitor or tourist in Ipoh, if you so happened to be in Menglembu, yes, do visit and try out this kopitiam, especially the rojak.

We will not make a special trip to have the noodles or rojak unless we happened to be in Menglembu as this kopitiam did not make it to our "die die must eat" list.
Lunch stopover before heading back to KL. Old school Chinese Hakka restaurant. Been around since the 60s if not mistaken. Nostalgic decor. Clean. Friendly staff. Affordable.

Famous for their roast duck which admittedly was amazing. Crispy, aromatic & juicy. Another specialty is the fried wanton noodles. It was simple yet flavorful. We also enjoyed the salted veggy fried fish which isn't on the menu. Hakka speciality. Very addictive. Other items we had were all well made & yummy.

Overall a great meal. Recommended if in the area.
Nice roasted duck and fried wan tan, overall is satisfied.

Classic ambience filled with nostalgia blue and white mosaic tiled floor, and green tiles lining the walls. The restaurant has been around possibly dating back into the 60’s/70's.

The cuisine here could best be summed as an eclectic mix of Cantonese and Hakka cuisines.

The restaurant is well-known for their roasted meats, the execution was flawless. The signature aromatic Roasted Duck is juicy and tasty. The caramelised chunks of Char Siew (Caramelized Barbecued Pork) sent an euphoric shock through the pork lovers in us. The crackling skin of the crispy Siew Yoke (Roasted Pork) served with a side dipping sauce of piquant chilli sauce, was immensely satisfying. It is a must try!

Must not miss their Bamboo Noodle as well. The soup is so tasty and very aromatic.

If you can handle Sichuan food then you can tolerate the fuming heat in these dishes. I honestly didn’t see this coming – enticed by the look of those big, juicy prawns, who would’ve thought that an innocent bite into its crunchy, succulent flesh would be so deathly to my tastebuds. Usually there is at least a tinge of tanginess in Assam but this one was pure fire. Knowing that the mixed vegetables cooked in sambal (a spicy paste comprised of several ingredients) is naturally spicy, I was hoping that it wouldn’t send smoke fuming out from my ears.

Well it almost did, as my face turned chilli red but I extinguished it with several glasses of water. Thankfully the sticky pork spare ribs marinated in a flavoursome sweet glaze spared my tastebuds, although it gave my jaws extra work in chewing the rather tough meat. Overall, none of the dishes were downright terrible nor excellent, since the seafood were fresh while the vegetables were cooked perfectly if the extreme spice was omitted, however the tasty pork was marred by its chewy texture.

Came back to this place for Chinese dishes after many years. Not as crowded as before but certain dishes are still tasty like the claypot mutton, snakehead fish slices, snakehead salted vegetable soup. Their famous soft shell crab is not good though. Service is fast and good.
A good mixture of roasts and local stir fried dishes. Duck was really good. Casual “kampung” style atmosphere, with the uncles and aunties around us having a great yippity yappity time😊
