Happy New Year!! Great experience and amazing food. The best around!!
We Ordered take out tonight. I called at 5 pm and it was delivered at 5:30. I thought …great….really good delivery time ! We sat down immediately to eat. Everything was stone cold, and the boneless spareribs were so black and charcoaled that we couldn’t eat them. I called the restaurant to express my concerns and dissatisfaction….and I got…oh…ok…I’ll let the chef know…..seriously??

Stopped here on the way to Maine. Everyone seemed to know the server’s name (Tom?) and locals seem to love it. Good American Chinese food, service very good. We got sushi and rice to fish ratio was really good. Tasted fresh etc. Would recommend.
1 year ago the food was good but this time was awful I won't go there again. In other words it sucked.

Waitstaff not real friendly. Feel like they are in a hurry. Sweet and sour chicken use to have pineapple and cherry on top. They stopped doing that😫

Food was overall good, but not great. We ordered delivery and it took a while, but our hotel staff said they get busy because a lot of people order from here, and with tip we ended up spending $70 for a decent amount of food.
Scallion pancakes are good. Crab rangoon was not. I took a bite out if a crab rangoon and the crab in it tasted a little off, I couldn't even finish chewing/swallow it. The dinner plate with skewers, fried rice, and spring roll was good and a lot of food. We have leftovers for later which is always a plus.
Overall, if we could give 1/2 stars I'd give it a 3.5, more good than bad.

Buffet is not open. Regular menu only, but no combos. Chicken was 15 with no sides, rice is 12. We left without ordering.
Stopped in randomly on way up highway 1. Great food (we got house lo mein and Singapore noodles). Also got edamame. Portions were very generous (biggest order of edamame we’ve ever had). Staff very friendly. Prices very reasonable.
Food is good reasonable prices you always get Quick Service not crowded too often if you're looking for an out of the way spot right on Route 1 in a strip mall

If you’re looking for Chinese food that lacks portion size and flavor this might be the place for you. Over 16.00 for a very lacking amount of food compared to other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. I’ve honestly had better food for less money at the Chinese places at the mall. Should have went there instead. Menu said beef skewers were part of my order, I guess they meant beef skewer, as in one. That’s what I got. Extremely small portion of lackluster fried rice with a borderline tasteless flavor. Food wasn’t terrible, but definitely some of the least appealing Chinese food I’ve ever had when you consider how little of it there was. Would never go again even if they cut their prices in half. Stay away is the best advice I could give. Next time I’ll fight the traffic and pay top dollar at Kowloons, at least I know the food there is worth the money and aggravation

The music was loud. The ladies restroom was dirty. The food came 45 minutes after we ordered and the place was not full. The food was expensive and there was not enough portion for two (we ordered the love boat for two).
Went there with my son on Father's Day as a last option. We were seated right away and the waitress was prompt and very polite. Food was excellent! Highly recommended.
Visiting the area from SF, order was prepared on time and deliciously. Generous sashimi and avocado portions. Would definitely recommend.
The food doesn't cost these money. We got small bowls of soup for $6 each. Salad was just lettuce. The waitress hardly speaks English. I don't recommend. It was a waste of money.
I ordered a pick up order online (spring roll, chicken teriyaki and krabrangoon and even payed an extra 2 dollars for fried dumplings) i eas prompted to choose what i wanted for rice which i chose pork fried rice, this was all done online. Upon getting my food i drove back to work to eat lunch and i got everything except the fried dumplings, again which i payed extra for. I even tipped more than 20% which is still generous considering it was a pick up order. The spring roll, krabrangoon, and the chicken were all pretty good, but, the pork fried rice wasnt as good as ive had from other places. it was a mistake they forgot my fried dumplings, although when im paying extra for something id expect it to be included with the meal with no issues.
Spent $30 for the worst Chinese food I ever tasted. I got crab Rangoon which there was no crab in it. I got the house special seafood combo. Crab was so water logged didn’t even look or taste like crab, I got 1 scallop and 3 shrimp. Tons of veggies which whatever sauce it was in left a nasty taste in my mouth. $30 and it all went in the trash. Will NEVER go there again. What a waste of my money and I’m still hungry
I can’t say enough about Gourmet Garden in Danvers. It has been my go to for Chinese food and sushi since it opened. In my experience its hard to find a place that does both really well. My wife doesn’t like sushi so having good Chinese food is a must if I want to go out for sushi on date night. Everything is good here. And the service is outstanding. Tony, the bartender, is the man! I’ve been here over 50 times easy and never had a bad experience. Love, love love this place!

The rice is bland. The egg roll was TINY. I can't believe they charge $7 for that. I got the lunch plate and couldn't believe how tiny it was. The container is not your typical Styrofoam container. It's a dinky small black to go container if you had left overs. $25 later. Like what ? I got robbed!!!!

One of the best places to have sushi crab Rangoon and lo mein love the food and the service is amazing
Great portions, taste, service, and aesthetic. First time I’ve ever been full from spring rolls and sushi. Was worried when there weren’t many people here, but it’s a diamond in the rough! Would definitely eat here again
I have been a customer here for about twelve years, since they were the Mandarin Danvers. The food is always great, fresh and made with good quality ingredients. The service is always courteous and prompt and the prices reasonable, the portions are plentiful. If you are dining in make sure to try their cocktails, they're very original and well served. The only minus is that they don't have draft beer, but otherwise the place is great, with a nice atmosphere.
Had a pickup order for 6:30. When I got here at 6:40, I was told it was at least a 30-minute wait. I understand it's a holiday, but what's the point of putting in a pre-order if I'm going to have to wait so long. Being told by other customers in the store that it's closer to an hour long wait, they've been here since 6:00
We spent over $200 on takeout the other night and food was terrible. We used to eat there a lot but stopped because service was always really, really slow but since the food was always great we decided to get take out. Chicken on a stick was seriously burnt. Beef on stick and beef broccoli tasted like it was dipped in flour before cooked. They both had a pasty texture. Same pasty texture with shrimp entree.
Pork strips were 100 percent fat.
Crab Rangoon’s were great though. We’ve noticed since the owner is never there anymore, the food and service has continually gone down hill and now it’s to the point we won’t be eating there anymore. Even the cocktails taste like they have been watered down.
We are so disappointed since we used to eat there at least once a week when owner was there.

Been here several times and it is consistently delicious. Both Japanese and Chinese dishes are amazing. Our regular picks/favs: grey goose mai tai's, scorpion bowl, Lady in red maki, blu karma maki, toro double dip maki, cupid's arrow maki, miso soup, and of course the love boats. We've never had a bad meal here. The quality and presentation are always top notch.
So happy to have found this place! First time here and won't be the last. Service was great and food was delicious. We had sushi and if your not great with chopsticks, they provide trainers that attach to them to help make it easy to use.
We ordered soft -shelled crab, sushi, chili wonton and fries rice. The foods were extremely delicious and the vibe was awesome. There’s outdoor dining options also.
The world that pops in my mind is Delicious 1st time here celebrated my birthday outside with my friends it was very beautifully decorated the mood the scene inside and out clean welcoming friendly staff the food was to die for so fresh well-made the chicken wings omg yumm the seafood salad the sushi the rice the lowmein that had zucchini cooked to perfection the mango Mai Thai 😋 this place was so worth it 👌 definitely recommend it to any and everyone will definitely go again I couldn't have had a better time and the food couldn't be anymore perfect
I have tried the 88 once before and was disappointed so I decided to try it again and when I did I was even more disappointed they left the appetizer out of my order and did not start cooking the food until I arrived even though I called it in 20 minutes earlier and they told me it'd be ready in 10. Save yourself from the disappointment and go somewhere else.
The Worst Food Experience - Like most American, I ordered Chinese Food for New Years Eve, and received the worst food ever. I ordered Chicken with String Beans, and the food had a strange smell and tasted like dirt. The chicken turned to mush the second you ate it, which told me that the chicken is rotten gone bad. I called the restaurant to express my concern and they told me that the food is made the same way. I told them it was bad and doesn’t taste good and they only told me that they were sorry. I always order the same food from this restaurant so I know what it should taste like and the fact that they dismissed my concerns and they could of poisoned me by selling and serving me with rotten meat is bad customer service for anyone. They just lost a customer for life. They just don’t care about Americans which is who is buying their food.
I had the hot and sour soup it was excellent and very fast delivery to the table I also ordered a 16 piece chef sushi sampler that was also excellent and pretty quick. I had more than enough to eat for the price and the amount of sushi they got me. I would highly recommend this place.
The chicken fingers are the smallest I’ve ever seen. The beef teriyaki is nearly see through and the smallest I’ve ever seen. The fried shrimp were also cut super small. Chicken teriyaki was the only normal size product. The fried rice had next to nothing in it. I spent 25 dollars and got under a half lb of actually meat. Really pathetic. I will never return.
Wanted quick Chinese food because the Mall foods courts where closed, didn’t want to pay top dollar for multiple single items. I got the combo meal and it was the best. Definitely recommend this place!
Food and service was excellent!! Everything we ordered came as prepared and just as good or better than expected. Small restaurant but worth the wait if you don't have reservations. Would definitely go back if in the area.
This place is great and under new ownership. I happen to know the manager Sing and he has worked extremely hard to bring 88 to a top notch high end Chinese Restaurant. I will recommend everyone I know to stop on by and show the new owners support. The quality in food has increased tremendously and we the customers are grateful for that. We notice the changes being made over there and I wanted to show my support. Keep up the good work. There is a big difference between a fast food restaurant and Chinese food restaurant. That is why the 88 stands out. You changed the way I felt about the whole Chinese fast food restaurant belief. You are actually a high end Chinese restaurant who caters to your customers and their every desire.
