We had a very nice trip. It was a beautiful day and the people working there was very nice. Didn’t get to see a whale but seen a couple seals. They gave us a pass to come back again.

This tour was so much fun! The whole crew was super friendly and helpful, both on the dock, and on board. During the outing, we saw three Minke whales, some seals, and lots of bird life, including a big bald eagle that flew right past the boat, as we entered the harbor. The boat itself, Nick's Chance, feels roomy and comfortable, even when fully booked (as it was, on the day we went). My friend and I had a fabulous time, and I would love to go again!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Captain Andrew and crew on Nick's Chance. The weather couldn't be better, with clear skies, calm seas, and a number of whale sightings. (Sure, if the whales had actually jumped out of the water, that would've been spectacular, but nature isn't here to perform for us!) The next time we're in town, we'll definitely be back for another tour!
I was in Kennebunkport and saw the sign next to a local restaurant. I walked up to the window and Kathy got me right in for the next day! She and Chris also told me about local points of interest and opportunities for learning the local history, and were incredibly helpful. The trip was like nothing I’ve ever done before…we saw several Minke whales, and saw a humpback blow in the distance. It was a great day and I highly recommend First Chance! I will be back!
This was an excellent trip. The whole crew was amazing. Very friendly, knowledgeable and you could really tell they were genuine in wanting their passengers to see a whale experience. This was by far the best experience of this years vacation in Maine.
This was definitely a cool experience! The staff was great and they knew where to find the whales! We saw whales and sharks! It was a pretty long day though. You have to go out really far to see the whales. I would not take really small children on this. My kids are 13 and 11 and did great but by the end they were over it. If you get motion sickness take some Dramamine before hand.
What an amazing family experience! We were looking for something to fill some time with our young kids (8 and 3), and honestly it was so much better than we could have expected. The tour guides knew a lot of intimate details about the scenes around us and described them in an entertaining way for the whole family. They engaged our young kids with all aspects of the boat ride, from letting them get up close to the trap, to holding the lobster, to steering the boat, and even letting my kid release the lobster back to the wild at the end. We saw seals, too, which was new for us in a place we have been coming for many, many years. It felt so personal, despite the crowd—they really did such a great job. We will be back next year!
We had such a wonderful experience today, 6/15/2024 one the First Chance Whale watching Cruise. Happy Birthday Captain Andrew! You drove that boat like a seasoned captain. You and the team functioned like a well oiled machine!!! I will definitely be back before my time is done in Maine. We didn't see any marine animals but we had a wonderful time just navigating the waters. This has been the highlight of this partion of my work assignment in Maine. If I could be on that boat every weekend I truly would. Thank you first chance. You all have changed my perspective deeply.
