Lal Qila Restaurant is located on Shahrah e Faisal in Karachi. It's ambiance is same like old mughal forts that's why it's name include Qila word in it. Overall good sitting options are available including outdoors, rooftop and indoor seating capacity. There are around 100 items which include every big to small dish/item. Birthday celebrations are being done here in traditional mughal darbar's way like by saying their famous terms. Overall taste of food was also fine along with overall experience. Staff was well trained and well polite.

food was tasteless and items jn buffet were very limited . i visited north nazimabad branch. bbq options were limited and only served on table on demand. only two ice cream flavors were available. prawns , fish were undercooked and smelly. haleem and pulao were tasteless and stale. despite of 15% of details at their facebook page they charged us full amount for 5 people.

We recently visited LalQila for our annual university hi-tea, booking for almost 40 people two days in advance. The no-cheque policy meant we had to pay on the spot. The price was 2000 per person, with timings from 4:30 to 6:00.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of food, including pastas, salads, BBQ, sweets, drinks, kachori, chowmein, haleem, prawns, pizza, and shawarma, although cold drinks were not included.
In terms of food quality, I found it average overall. However, some items stood out: the Alfredo, prawns, chowmein, chicken pockets, pani puri, and pizza were excellent. On the downside, the BBQ beef wasn’t cooked properly and the waffles were disappointing.
The food was finished and closed at 6:00, but we were still taking our time without anyone telling us to leave.

Recently, I have been to Saltnat, it's a huge place inside, nicely lit in the evening. The place also observes a good footfall.

If you’re planning to visit this place, don’t. Go somewhere where the staff is respectful. Because the staff here was extremely disrespectful that it felt like a waste of money bec we aren’t able to eat at all. We reached on time, and took all the food we wanted. And when we started eating after sometime the time for buffet was closed. Now we weren’t taking anymore food obviously bec we already did long before they closed it, but we were eating peacefully. But the staff came to us like 5 times asking us to leave bec the buffet time was over, we told them we will leave in about 10 minutes but they kept on sending different waiters asking us to leave, I mean it might would have made sense if it was crowded (it wasn’t, there was barely anyone) or we were asking for more food. But we were just eating at our tables and they kept coming despite us asking them to give us just a few more minutes. So yeah it felt a waste of money bec we weren’t able to eat as much as we paid or even half of it.
A lovely place to experience all sorts of local cuisine at a grand level. Food was good except, we found Malai kababs quite scarce for the value. Since there are a lot of competitors around this place, one should go here to have a more in the boundary, open-sky concept kind of dine-in. There are options to eat over the table or couches or flat wooden takhts which was something we miss in general. I would say, it's a family friendly spot and prices are much more reasonable. Try their mutton chops, BBQ and Karahi. Tempura were on the list but we were already late to wrap up for the day. One more thing, service was pretty slow and when we showed our lateness to receive any food, they apologized like 5 times till we left :)

Lal Qila is a centrally located restaurant. It offers a wide variety of food in its buffet. Initially when it was started, it was the best restaurant of town, however lately their food quality and variety has gone down especially when compared with the price.
Chicken Malai Tikka and Nargisi Tikka are very good. In fried quail (batair) they are the pioneers.
They have added a photo point in their facility which offers fancy dresses where you can dress like royals and get your photos which is kind of funny thing.
Overall, I would say that they are in middle tier of such kind of buffet restaurants. A few changes in their menu would certainly improve their ratings.

Not worth it. Poorly managed very slow service hidden extra charges with only cash policy without mentioning anywhere. Most buffet items have zero to no meat. The sweet section is very very bad and has no proper arrangements. Even a single item can be described perfect.

Visited saltanat Restaurant for the first time, it was an amazing experience. The place is excellent and superb. The food is simply delicious and well prepared. The sttaf is friendly. It has live music and kids playing area to.

Had Iftar Buffet here which costed around 3390/- per head. Many food options to choose from and the taste was good as well but nothing exceptional. Tempura Prawns were the highlight for me. For 3390/-, this is an expensive dine in considering the quality that is being offered.
Recently visited the iftar buffet. The ambience and atmosphere is good. Their food needs to get a little better in taste as we are paying a good price. The service was not up to the mark, as it is already a very short time but still they were making unnecessary delays in serving bbq items.
The prawns and turkish kababs were good.
Overall experience 8/10.
P.s. I would recommend this place for family gatherings and casual friends/ colleagues gatherings as well.

The restaurant is good nice buffet place taste was avg of all the food except barbe que and sajji was good, overall great place for families
I went there with my 2 friends for a dinner buffet, The per head price was approx 3000 PKR when we visited in 2024. The quality was good and fresh live cooking. The atmosphere was also clean and good. We enjoyed it.
Live bbq, grilled chicken and fried prawns were superb. Good service and well mannered staff. Choupal is great place for family and close friends to have a pleasent dinner. In sweets, cheese cake and ice-cream were tasty while brownies weren't as good as expected because they were dry.

I had a wonderful experience at Chaupal Karsaz. The ambiance was great, with a spacious dining area, comfortable seating, and relaxing music. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who cleared our plates promptly. The food was fresh and delicious, with a variety of dishes to suit different tastes and preferences. Cold drinks and water is not included in buffet you have to pay for it separately.

We went to rangoli on 6th January 2024 for HiTea, place was over crowded, staff were not trained, we directly went to the dining area then one person attended us inside, food stalls were full of people and area was so congusted.
I was taking coffe then one waiter of rangoli ran to me n i was holding a cup of cofee which he spilled on my right hand, no one attented me plus the waiter ran away from there, i was in so much pain, there was no first aid boix so i went to the reception, manager had no clue about situation, after i explained him the whole scenario he said waiter has gone home.
I was hurting so much, my hand was all shaking , it was second degree burn, no one provided first aid and even blamed me for not being careful which was frustrating.
Food was below average, it was the worst decision so i recommend people to safe money and dont visit this place.

I attended the lunch buffet on Saturday, 16/12/2023, which included exciting activities like game bowling, bull riding, rock climbing, and indoor car racing, all available at a 60% discount with the JS credit card. The ambience was perfect, creating a vibrant atmosphere. However, I must note that the lunch buffet's food quality was average, not matching the excellence of the overall experience. Despite this, the discounted activities and enjoyable setting made it a worthwhile outing.

They definitely created good atmosphere matching the fort theme.
Their buffet selection is huge and have dishes of every type to suit different tastebuds.
Not all the items we tried were tasteful. There is definitely room for improvement in food quality.
With the price of 3000 rupees a person one drink should be included in the price.
There are many add on like pictures in traditional Mughal dress, birthday or anniversary event which can be taken price pretty high pretty fast.

Specially Tempura Fish and Prawns are the top most priority for us. Fish is so moist, Chicken reshmi is best in bbq.

Modernised version of Laal Qila. Great place for buffet. Features desi dishes. Venue was clean. Staff was fast and responsive. Decoration and aesthetics were very good. Food was very good. Made hot and fresh. Recommend BBQ, pasta, Chinese and most of the desi dishes. Live BBQ available right at the table along with drinks.

The no of items include in buffett were too low as there were only 18-20 items in main course but the taste was Fabolous the environment was superb the service was excellent totally satisfied with the food quality and service but the price are not justified it should be a lil cheaper but except that every thing was up to the mark. Will surely visit again and again In Sha ALLAH.

Visited Rangoli for Brunch. The menu was available on the website. The place is good and the staff is humble and cooperative except the few ones on which they have to work out. The person who is allocating seats according to reservation is some difficult to work under pressure. Need training to facilitate and utilise his experience.

I had the opportunity to experience the hi-tea at Rangoli restaurant recently, and while I had high hopes, the overall experience turned out to be rather underwhelming. They charged Rs 1850 for adults and Rs 1150 for children aged 7 to 10. Considering the cost, my expectations for the food variety and taste were quite significant. Sadly, the offerings fell short on both fronts. The lack of diverse options and the underwhelming flavors were quite disappointing. While the ambience and service were satisfactory, it's difficult to overlook the subpar culinary experience, particularly at those price points. The fried prawns were not fresh at all. The good part was that a game was included in the price of the buffet. That we thoroughly enjoyed. I hope Rangoli takes this feedback constructively and endeavors to enhance their hi-tea offering for a more delightful experience in the future.

I have visited rangoli restaurant many times for family functions. I have tried their diner and hi-tea menu's and both are good. Both the dining area and the food area's are well decorated. They also have separate rooms for family functions and birthday events. They also give arena game coupons, which is an additional benefit.
Their rates did the justice. I noticed that every branch of Chaupal has different rates, maybe depend on location-wise. Taste of food was good. The ambience was pretty average (need much improvement) lighting were too less.
The time for dinner was around 7.30 but it started laate. Food was good and upto the mark.

Overall a loverly experience of family dining in a cosy environment
A bit expensive though as per head costs around 2350Rs excluding beverages and dining arena is a bit congested bit the overall service and taste makes up for it

Wonderful place, Great atmosphere, we visit in December 2022, value for money much better then Lal Qila which is over rated I guess, very friendly staff we went to the Chaupal Roof Top in North Nazimabad. good spread selection, from Salad to main course, their prawns 🍤 and fish was awesome and the most delicious one was their Beef pulao, dessert selection was limited but enough for the topping, Ume Ali was the best of all with wide selection of puddings.
The atmosphere at the restaurant was really nice! It had a cozy and welcoming vibe. The lighting was just right, and there was some kawali playing in the background. It was a great place to enjoy a meal and have a good time. Did you go to a restaurant too? How was the atmosphere there?
I gave them 4 stars and I was thinking about the 5 stars. The only reason was the sets was not that clean otherwise everything was great the food is so good the service was great there buffet included almost everything and it’s all you eat. They have small grill in every table is I thought that was really nice they bring different types of sheesh Kabab with charcoal and you can haves the kababs hot and fresh
Good food and good service. The environment is very nice highly recommend . They got open buffet with variety of food with Big salad bar and addition they have sweets bar. The prices is reasonable also

Visited yesterday for dinner buffet. I must say very nice selection of dishes and great taste. The ambiance and presentation is also upto mark. Cost is Rs 1299/- plus tax per head. A definite recommendation. Will visit again.
