Tastee Diner has that old time diner feel. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had the hamburger steak with gravy. It was cooked perfectly, it was very thick and juicy. Just the way I like it

Great service and great food! I’m over here visiting with my parents and younger children and I’m over all the pricey strange foods and wanted a good old fashioned diner. Well lo and behold we stumbled upon this and had a great dinner for a great price. Lots of options for my younger kids. The staff were fantastic, so kind and quick to check and make sure we were enjoying our dinner.

Staff is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is nostalgic-1950's, complete with a jukebox. Food is okay, priced appropriately, and good portions. Order the steak and cheese sandwich. THAT was exceptional! Oh, and I am told the milkshakes are phenomenal, but I didn't have the opportunity to try one.

Cute little diner in the heart of Bethesda! It's been up and running since 1935. Their menu is very basic but delicious and very affordable. Everyone who works there is super nice and always with a big smile. We ordered the tuna melt sandwich which was so good. We also ordered the seafood platter with sides of coleslaw and onion rings. Their coleslaw was very delicious. Definitely check out this place if you are in the area! The experience will take you back in time!

great hot cakes, eggs, sausage, potato’s, and coffee. food was hot and came out relatively quickly. kind staff too
I went to this place yesterday morning with my 2 friends. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, and toast. The food was pretty good, until I noticed 2 eyelashes in my food. My friend accidentally removed one of them with her napkin so I could only make the waitress aware of one. The waitress, a middle-aged Asian woman, acted as if she didn’t see the eyelash when I repeatedly pointed it out to her on my plate. She was very dismissive and told me to speak to the manager, without even pointing out who the manager was. She did not show any concern whatsoever. I will not be back to this establishment and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else go either.

This Silver diner has impressed me with their customer service. I’ve been here multiple times, and can say that each time customer service has been consistent with great service. The food is delicious, from breakfast to diner. I highly recommend this place if you’re out and about in Bethesda.

Unfortunately, my experience at Tastee Diner was pretty subpar. I love that this place is still thriving after all these years—it’s important to support local businesses with rich histories—but the food was just not the best.

I got the waffle with over easy eggs and bacon, as well as a side of grits. The waffle was average and I didn’t like their artificial syrup (6/10). The bacon (8/10) and grits were pretty normal, though I needed a lot of salt for the grits (6/10). Finally, the eggs: the whites weren’t fully cooked! When I took a bite, I got a film of raw egg white. I like my eggs over easy, but these were just a raw and unpleasant experience (2/10).

The atmosphere is lived in and exciting, but I wouldn’t come here again for the food.

Standard fare hot meal food for a diner in need of an updating. Our omelets were served hot, edible, and acceptable.

Nothing to write a critical or rave reviews about, just understand the lack of a wait line is justified if you are trying to simply get food in your stomach.

They do crazy business on a Sunday brunch hour, but once seated with a reservation, all was great. Upscale diner food, nicely prepared. The French Toast was perfect! Have been coming here for years, first on my own, lately with family. Good food, quality lattes that taste perfect, nice Mimosas, great brunch, great booths, great views!

Our first time here and it was absolutely amazing. We sat at the bar and just watching how they admire freshness in their products really stood out to me. Maria who was our server did an amazing job checking on us and ensuring we had everything we needed. Another waiter who I didn’t catch his name even didn’t mind that I bothered him for a straw. The hostesses were so kind and accommodating! The atmosphere was so fun and positive! They also have a lot of options for those like me who have dietary restrictions which is hard to find! We will definitely be back!
The restaurant was relatively empty when we walked in, and it still took them 10 minutes for them to take our drink order. It took them another 10 minutes for them to get our drinks back to us. The Coffee and toast were burnt, and the bacon and home fries were undercooked. I had to drown my eggs and home fries in salt and pepper for them to be bearable
bearable
After staying the night at Kenwood Country Club in Bethesda, my wife and I were in the mood for a warm and hearty breakfast on a rainy and chilly Sunday morning. She found Old Georgetown Grille and we found an exquisite experience across the board. Food, atmosphere and service were excellent.

Go there.

... it's 9 am and I'm walking the mean streets of Bethesda, MD. With an hour to kill, I decided to grab a cup of joe. I was reaching for the Starbucks door when I spotted the old school gem across the street and made a beeline for it. It was a perfectly preserve relic from 1935, where the only thing that has changed is probably the complexion of the clientele. There was the "saucy old broad" behind the counter sparing playfully with the regulars, the waitress who brings over the pot every time my cup is half full and the sound of dishes clanging in the background. It was perfect! One of the most enjoyable and entertaining cups of coffee I've had in a long time.
Very warm and inviting place. Excellent food and very good service

Was really excited to try this spot. I love a good diner and they are hard to find anymore. Upon walking in, you do really get the feel/ vibes of an old school diner. This was great, the food not as great.
Lots to choose from on the menu. I decided on the roast beef dinner plate. This came with two sides so I got the mashed potatoes and gravy & corn. The roast beef was not good. We couldn't tell if it had been microwaved, boiled, both? And unfortunately the sides had no flavor. Salt and pepper really didn't even make any difference. So as far as my meal, definitely would not order again.
However, we also tried the bacon cheeseburger & fries with a side salad. The cheeseburger and fries were both good, we enjoyed this dish. So I am conflicted with this review. Yes, the burger and fries were good but not great. The diner vibe is great, the roast beef is not great.
Not sure that I would ever come back. Perhaps if I do I would try the breakfast?? But to anyone coming, definitely pass on the roast beef. It is not like your Mom's.

For almost a year now my friend and I have made a routine visit on Sundays for lunch here. We have fallen in love with this place. We had gotten into a routine with the Silver Spring Tastee Diner, and when it closed we tried other places, but nothing can compare to the real thing. They always try their best to do the right thing. We try to get our favorite waitress, but the others are just as good, even the ones that buss the tables. The food is pure Diner food, always served promptly, always fresh and hot. I can't say enough good things about the place!

Great diner spot with classic diner food and feel. Reasonable prices, tasty food, and great staff. Service was fast. The seating is cute and comfortable and the food is good but it's really a no-frills classic diner experience, highly recommend!
Excellent. The prices were fantastic and the food was pretty good. The real standout though was the waitress. She was sweeter than their apple pie. An easy place to choose for breakfast.
The best seats in the house are in the front row; at the counter behind the grill. Not only are you guaranteed to get your food when it's ready, but you get to witness the skills of career food service professionals. They don't need computers to keep track of the orders.

Great brunch experience. The pitcher of mimosas was worth it. The omelet was very good and the huevos rancheros were excellent. This was a bit of a walk from the metro, but it wasn't bad.

Even though this is a diner, I would say that it’s a more so upscale type of diner. It still gives the old school diner experience with the layout of the high chairs at the bar and the cushioned booths to match the vibe. The hosts were really welcoming and got us seated at the bar immediately. I had the pleasure of enjoying a passion fruit mimosa, while my partner enjoyed the orange juice mimosa. They were both very delicious and you can’t even tell that the orange juice was fresh squeezed. For our meal, I had the Angus cheeseburger, my partner had the bison cheeseburger. I must say, this was one of the most delicious burgers I’ve ever tasted. I felt full by the time my meal was done, but I did not feel overly stuffed which was a great thing. The only downfall that I can point out is the small abundance of fruit flies in the bar area. From time to time I would have to fan them away so that they wouldn’t get into my mimosa. Overall, I will definitely come back. I can honestly say this is money well spent..

I was in town on a business trip and decided to get some real food. After doing a little research, I noticed this place had plenty of great reviews. I normally don't pay others any mind when it comes to taste, but I figured
why not. Walking in takes me back about 50 years. But don't let that scare you off. I ordered the pancakes, eggs and sausage. Let me tell you, it was on point. I normally could wolf down pancakes with no problem. But the serving was plenty. Everything was great. If you want a happy meal, don't go there. But if you want a really delicious meal, give this place a try.

Came here on a double date for Sunday brunch. Really great drink & food options. Had the “green giant” juice which was refreshing. The burrata avocado toast was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive.
Old Georgetown Grill is a local restaurant located in Bethesda MD. We had a delicious breakfast of eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage. Portions are generous, service is excellent. Street parking is limited however there is a parking garage nearby.

This dinner has been here forever…it has remained unchanged… friendly staff solid breakfast. Perfectly cooked over easy eggs, and home fries…
Inexpensive place for straight forward lunch. My bulgagi plate was tasty and filling. My friend's fish sandwich was fine, not exciting, just decent food at a relatively low price for the area.

I went to silver with a good friend who had been here once prior a few months ago and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was very good, I loved my cauliflower steak, and the environment was very inviting. Our only issue was that the service wasn’t great. Our server seemed to repeatedly forget about us and honestly just seemed very confused half the time, which had us wondering if she was new. She forgot about my drink for a long while and didn’t ask my friend what temperature she wanted her steak, it ended up coming out in a way she liked it, but it was still odd. Other then the hiccups with the service everything else was very nice and enjoyable.
