The guy that’s designated himself spokesperson at the donation door on the backside of the building is one of the rudest people I’ve ever met. He speaks to you like it’s a privilege to even be able to ask him a question. Don’t waste your time donating to this faux charity and find a real charity that will actually value your donations and time.

Sad, used to find wonderful items here. Main processing plant now pulls anything of value and marks items like Zara used at $25. Greedwill at its finest.

Goodwill was a good place for people with limited funds like 5 years ago… right now they’ve lost any shame and are putting prices as high as in walmart or target. We saw a stand that was priced here for 6.99$, and when looked on the other side and it still had its original tag that said 5$. Please stop supporting this “non-profit” and donate somewhere else (shelters for animals and homeless people).

horrible while shopping i had so many undercover shoppers following me. I come here to relax after a long day at work, manger or shift manger need to tell them don't make it so obvious and not to over crowd a shopper personal space!! But i did pay for everything here my receipt oh did i forget $60 was my total and the cashiers you guys rock no complaints from me......

While I don't shop at goodwill, I'm a firm believer in passing on items to others when they are still in good shape and when there's a lot of life left in the item. I've dropped off here many times over the years and have not had a bad experience, till yesterday and today. My husband and I did a deep clean and decided to donate items that we were no longer using. We had to make two trips because my car is small and can only hold so much.
Yesterday, one of the drop off employees came and grabbed a vacuum out of my husband's hands as he was trying to rewind the cord that had come loose in transit, stating that my husband was wasting his time.
Today the same man was extremely rude to me. I was dropping off a manual sit to stand desk. I had separated the desk and the base and was putting it back together. It's a little stubborn due to needing all 4 supports sitting exactly right before it will slip back into the base. The man came over and told me it wasn't worth anything and not to bother. At that moment, I got it positioned and the desk quickly slid into place, sliding all the way to the lowest position. He then accused me of actively trying to hurt him as he had placed his hands on the item. I hadn't tried to hurt him, but I apologized anyways. He then repeated that the desk wasn't worth anything and he shouldn't take it since I had tried to hurt him. Again I apologized, even though it was an accident.
Another employee intervened and took the desk away and I left.
This type of experience makes people not want to donate items.
Goodwill, please train your staff better. And for the larger African American gentleman who was so rude, I'm sorry if you having a bad day, but it's not OK to take our your frustrations on others, call perfectly good items worthless, and accuse people of trying to hurt you.

Third time in a row showing up with 15 mins before listed closing .... CLOSED.
Parking Lot CLOSED, which takes time...
Obviously closed at or around 8:30pm....
Either revise your hours please or at least let the rest of us know you can't be taken seriously regarding your store hours .... ohh wait, you've made that abundantly clear.
No Thanks for wasting my time.
No "GoodWill" for you jokers 😉

I was going to buy some sweatshirt at Seattle goodwill, but the lowest price for a used and very thin one is $12.99 while a the one I bought at Walmart and was brand new rhicker and better quality was $12.99 regular price. I understand Goodwill is raising money to train educate people, but getting even from their shoppers is not acceptable. I will not shop to that so called thrift store and would not recommend Goodwill to anyone. Go to St. Vincent or Salvation Army instead fellow shoppers, cleaner items and fair prices.
***** I have talked to the manager at the cash register, she said No because that is the price tag says and that is the final price! *****

I have to say the worker at this location are crooked!! Was on Sunday a colors was 50 percent off which is nice so I dig some clothes I finally get one new pant with original tags. I bought other colors as well by the time I checked out they refused to sale it’s to me and said in Tagalog to each other and said the tags was switched. They took it for themselves!! They said if I wanted I have to paid $19.99 even the tag said $9.99
Which I can get it the same band at Ross for same price Are you kidding me!!
And by the way, every time on sale color day, you will see the staffs are starting to pull those colors off the shelf, I asked them why are you doing this, they said too much clothes have to do it! But why only on sale colors? They said nothing and continue.
We donated and shop at goodwill, the keep changes at the cashier we always say yes.
Goodwill should be ashamed of themselves

I love the layout and the building. It is such a vibe! All of the merchandise is carefully curated with a passion for presentation and playfulness!
What really sets this store apart from any other is the following story that occurred there a couple of months ago. My son was making a transaction and he somehow misplaced his wallet at the store. We live several hours away. We called them panicking and left our info in the rare instance that maybe someone would find it and turn it in. The wallet contained my son's Washington I.D., school i.d., bank cards, cash app, various store gift cards from him recently graduating high school, and a large amount of hard earned cash from doing hair. He is a loctician.
The money was being saved to pay for his college education. We had both recently come to terms with the huge loss, until yesterday 9/18/224. My son was contacted by the store manager Kayla through his Insta page. Someone found his wallet and turned it in and ALL of the contents, including the cash was fully accounted for and intact!
Imagine the tears of joy that poured down our faces as we celebrated this victory and act of kindness together. Kayla shipped it to us today and we are beyond grateful! We have always been Goodwill shoppers, but this has given us a much renewed faith in humanity. The wallet arrived today 9/24/24.
Thank you for being good and honest people. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for making the world a better place.

I'm amazed at how often I find name brand pants/jeans here that are actually long enough for my above average length legs! I've never been able to find second hand jeans until I came here. And they were name brand excellent quality! I usually have to pay $100+ online for the same.

As an avid goodwill shopper I was surprised i didn’t find anything in this HUGE store, but after looking at the prices on these items? There’s no way this goodwill thinks these are THRIFT STORE PRICES. I’m visiting from out of state and did see quite a few people with carts packed! Just not the store for me. I do appreciate how this is the only goodwill I’ve been to in 3/4 years to still have the dressing rooms open.

I was turned away at the door because I was carrying a backpack. I don’t drive and that’s how I was going to get my PURCHASED items, back home on public transportation. I don’t look like I’m a vagrant, thief or any other kind of ne’re-do-well, and if even if I was, these are DONATED items. You don’t have to secure them like your f’n Nordstrom for god sakes. 0/10 and I wish I could give negative stars.

Absolutely terrible experience!! The individuals working the donation line were yelling at people, some of the worst customer service I’ve seen. I ended up taking an entire truckload of new IKEA furniture and donations and throwing them away at the dump where I received great customer service by friendly employees, which is really sad!

Great place with lots to choose from as well as an upstairs.

We've been coming here for years. But there is this certain long haired portly male employee that was extremely rude and I saw talking very much maliciously about me. So I'll never come here or any other Goodwill. Rather go small biz. Thank you for freeing me of a generally toxic environment. Wish y'all happiness, somewhere, somehow. Thank you

Overpriced for a goodwill, i mean would u pay $30+tax for this blazer?

This is one of the best organized Goodwills I've ever seen. MASSIVE housewares section. Plenty of parking. Easy to access.

The employees are harassed and customers are subjected to an inhospitable retail environment regularly from the lawlessness permitted on The Ave and Udistrict that extends into the store. The security should continue before someone gets hurt or worse.

Convenient drop-off location with seldom the wait or hassle typically encountered at the Dearborn location. No furniture donations here. Receiving personnel are typically friendly and will communicate. Open 7 days for donations!

Do not go to this Goodwill!! Terrible customer service. In order to use the bathroom it is REQUIRED to buy something even though you may not be ready to check out. Stupid rule. Worker says “It’s just business”. No it’s not. It’s Blackmail. Do not support this facility. Changes need to be made in this Goodwill and it needs to start with the Workers.

Very small store. They dont have the variety the other stores have due to the size and space. This is a great place for UW students to get stuff. Wish they had more room.

Went back to get some more pairs of woolen socks and fleece lined gloves. With a chill in the air we found that Goodwill provides cold weather clothing and accessories that can be had at affordable prices!

Lots of lovely RVs all around... They make such wonderful neighbors too... I wish there was more just like all them

Smaller than all other goodwill stores that I have checked out. Saw some good brands, all priced too high. Was not too impressed. My Son found My daughter a cool marvel drinking glass which is awesome! She will be excited. We have been here from Alaska for the past six weeks.

Good very nice 👍

Definitely a smaller goodwill but can make some good finds here. The fitting rooms are very spacious which is great for folks with mobility aids.

This is for the Dearborn location. This location has a drop-off as well.
The parking lot is big, but as the sign says don't leave belongings in the car. You will see shattered glass on the street from the regular break-ins.
When you walk in, it's the size of a large gym, actually 2-large gyms because the area from the entrance is clothing and there a second area for household items, furniture, toys, sports and entertainment.
This place moves at a quick pace, and isles are littered with things dropped on the ground with no one picking things up.
Pack your patience, the isles are tight, people are close and there are many looking for the "right find." There are treasures to be found here but I didn't see a deep discount verses getting it brand new from Amazon but if you're looking for vintage, this is your spot. I was able to find a brand-new pair of Cons for $25 and a new fleece hat for $8.
Midas 5-stars for the quick lines at the register. There were 8-registers open to get people checked-out and moving.
Midas 3-stars for the tight isles and selection.
Midas 4-stars overall.

Easy way to drop off the extra toiletries you pick up when you travel.

What the other comment said -- not here, don't waste your time.

Friendly staff and lots of cheap used stuff for sale. I just moved back and managed to find a nice whole set of dishes, 3 bowls, 3 small plates, and 4 large plates all for $24. The pot and pan were cheap and in great condition.

Drive up and drop off, they do have help if needed. It can be busy but it is for a worthy cause. $1.99 Mondays is great.

This is a super convenient place for us to donate items. We can just pull right in, unload our stuff, and get going. It's no hassle. There are always bins available to fill and they do a good job of keeping them moving. I've never had to wait for more than a few minutes.

Found a Gray Fisher MTB in good condition for, 50 a little work and working great 👍

Awesome place to donate left over baby supplies for moms in need

They do incredible things for the community + very kind staff whenever we drop off donations. Love Mary's Place.

19jan2022 ~11:45 dropped in the U District Goodwill for a lil shopping. The Store is clean. Everything were well organized and neatly displayed. Staff were friendly and courteous. 👍

Very friendly staff member greeted me upon arrival and processed our donations Very quickly. Wonderful experience

I dropped donations off. They were helpful, attentive and friendly.

Not here. And I got pulled over pulling into a parking lot for something that wasn’t even there

It doesn't look...feels or smells like a thrift store...that's good..50% of the stuff is completely new.... Go on monday , it's $1.79 color code day, everything with that color is$1.79. Even furniture is great!!!. And is right by captain blacks ....so two birds with one stone...when you're done shopping go get a drink....

I decided to check this store out during my visit to Seattle to see what I could find. The staff was friendly and the items and store were clean and organized. It was nicely laid out and fun to browse, however many of the items were priced very high for what they were/condition. I saw many jeans that were well used at $13-15 that would have only been $5 tops at most other places. They have outdated appliances trying to be sold for 2/3s of their new in box price when they were far from that condition.
However, with some patience and a little effort looking around I did find a few nice items that were reasonably priced and I was happy to take home. The shoe section I was excited to find a pair of green Hunter Boots that looked to have been worn only once. They are usually $100-130 rain/barn boots but I got them for $15. I also found a cute pair of brown leather Ralph Lauren heels for $7 that also looked like they have never been worn. I found a skinny braided leather belt for $2 and a light denim dress that would be perfect for spring/summer that was only $5-6. Overall, I really liked the staff, layout, and items and I left with items I will use for reasonable prices.
I think the steep prices represented by reviewers comments are more of a blanket problem the Goodwill chain faces and not just an issue specifically this establishment. I would come again on another trip/ recommend to those who want a fun day browsing with an open mind.
