Absolutely lovely place to walk and meet friends while taking pics of various blooms. Volunteers are helpful and take good care of the diff sections such as roses, peonies and veggies. It’s a quiet oasis in the city’s NW that is close to market mall.
They are doing a fabulous job at the gardens, keeping the plants look great during our water restrictions.
There are different beds featuring different plants - so there is a bed just for roses, another for arctic plants, another for low water plants, etc. All tended with tender loving care by a cadre of volunteers.
It is simply a lovely peaceful place.

The Botanical Gardens of Silver Springs in Calgary is a nice green space, but fell a bit short of impressing us after experiencing the world-class gardens in Victoria.
As a dog-friendly destination with a large, well-maintained off-leash area, the Botanical Gardens is a popular spot for local residents and their furry companions. The wide-open grassy fields and trails provide plenty of room for pups to roam and play freely. This was certainly appreciated, as we do love to give our dog the chance to stretch his legs during our travels.
However, the overall garden landscapes and horticultural displays simply didn't have the "wow" factor that we've come to expect from places like Butchart Gardens in Victoria. The plant collections, while well-kept, lacked the same level of variety, creativity, and visual impact.
That said, the Botanical Gardens still offers a pleasant, peaceful setting to stroll through, take in some nature, and let the dog burn off some energy. The grounds are clean, the pathways are accessible, and there are a few charming spots for photos. But compared to the truly spectacular botanical gardens we've experienced elsewhere, this one fell a bit short in our eyes.
Perhaps our expectations were a bit too high, having been so spoiled by the world-renowned gardens of Victoria. But while the Botanical Gardens of Silver Springs is still a nice green oasis in Calgary, it didn't quite measure up as a must-see destination for us on this trip. Beautiful place to sit and relax in nature within the city.
A nice little oasis within the city's core. I like it and it can be quite relaxing at times. There is a nice little playground for the kids a d a great place to chill, eat or even read. Sometimes you even get a person playing the piano there.
25 years ago when I last went it was called Eaton's centre, the gardens were much larger and more beautiful back than.
They are still beautiful but would love to see more flowers.
I realize it's allot of work and money to provide a free inside garden to enjoy year round so I dare not complain and I love that there is still water falls through out and a piano anyone could play, as I sat there enjoying my lunch I was blessed with 3 different people playing beautifully.
I definitely recommend going there especially during the long winters to sit back and relax soaking in nature and sounds of water.
When I lived in Calgary I would often go there with a book to get some greenery and sun to liven up the long winters, I would still do that if I still lived there.

Great garden space, great pathways and a fun place to walk your dogs! It’s nice to have a pathway to walk and flowers to look at while you walk your dog. Especially off leash! I only came in the fall and winter, but both times have been fun. Even in the fall there were some flowers to see!!
Great walking path, probably 30-45 mins to walk from the beginning to end and back again with average walking pace. If you stop and smell the flowers, it’ll take longer ;)
In the winter, it can be a little slippery! Watch out for icy bits on the inclines (small hills). Also, the path isn’t paved, it’s mulch/wood chip, so wear the right shoes!
Dog owners and just fellow walkers are so nice and welcoming. I like coming here because I can come with both dogs, one on leash and the other off. I can’t really do it at enclosed dog parks with both dogs, so I always end up leaving the one at home, this is a great option to take them both out. FYI, not fenced, near a big road and near an alleyway.

In the Summer this area is gorgeous, beautiful garden beds with pretty flora. But the lighting is terrible at night with only lights on the lower beds but no over head lights, gets a little creepy at night, especially in the winter when it's dark so early. The cyclists also need to slow down going through to the Peace Bridge.
Beautiful place to relax and eat. Lots of gorgeous flowers. Fish in the water. Quiet and relaxing.
It's a little difficult to navigate to! The easiest path we found was to get on an elevator and go out to the fourth floor! There is a play ground, piano, and food court up there as well!
Great use if indoor space. As a interior architect, this was great to see. Urban use of city space is a valuable used one large commercial building space. Though there was area cut off for a private event.
An indoor garden situated in the heart of downtown Calgary and within the mall. It is open all year round. The place is clean and well-maintained. If you are working nearby, it is a perfect place for lunch breaks to get away from the daily grind. Visiting the place makes you forget about stress and deadlines at work, even for just an hour.
It's just a garden on the 4th floor of a mall. It has small pools for fishes and fountains. There's a place for kids so they can play and small tables for eating in the garden area. There is no need to pay to entry. When I arrived there was a guy playing piano which made the ambient very relaxing.
This place is quite possibly Calgary's best kept secret as I have been here for almost 50 years (born & raised) and just learned about it this summer! Tucked into the beautiful community of Silver Springs in the NW, this garden features a number of unique collections of flowers, plants and Alberta's only public labyrinth! With 20 featured gardens, a picnic area, a playground, and a fruit grove, there is something for everyone here! Plan to take approximately 2 hours to properly explore everything these gardens have to offer. My favorites include the Rose Garden, Shakespeare Garden, Wall Garden, LoH2O Garden, Labyrinth Garden, and the new Heart Garden (supports the needs of families impacted by congenital heart disease). The park is quiet, tranquil and peaceful (I visited on a Friday afternoon in September). Tennis courts, a baseball diamond, and a soccer field are nearby. The only thing to be aware of is dogs are allowed off leash but thankfully, I only encountered friendly pups along my walk. Run completely by volunteers, these gardens are very well maintained for a public park. Admission is free and donations are welcome.

Very pleasant dog-friendly off-leash gardens cared for by volunteers. Fairly easy to find in Silver Springs with plenty of parking. Takes about 2 hours to stroll through and enjoy the entire area. Perennial flowers, trees and shrubs are all labeled, making them easy to identify.

Devonian indoor botanical gardens in downtown, Calgary, managed by city of Calgary parks, is a wow place. Situated on the fourth floor of a high end mall on the East bound 3rd Street railway platform, this stunning, beautifully crafted, pristine-clean, and very well-maintained garden is simply amazing and awe-inspiring.
Had I not seen it, I would not have believed the indoor garden could be so stupendous and astonishing.
The stunning, uscenic, breathtaking views of gardens with a variety of trees, plants, flowers, shrubs, cacti, living walls, alluring ponds, water fountains, and walls decorated with artifacts are beyond words - it is just phenomenal.
Moreover, like outdoor parks, there is an eye-catching play area with some enticing equipment to amuse children with sitting arrangements for parents to keep an eye on their children.
The park that has benches at numerous places, also, has a humongous food court with several eateries to choose from and hundreds of cozy sitting arrangements.
This is a must visit place in an outstanding mall in Calgary which is in the vicinity of the Calgary tower and the famous Stephen Avenue known as pedestrian mall. It is a heavenly place that has everything to fill its visitors with elation and tranquility.

The prodigious, ornamental garden, that was created 17 years ago by planting 7,000 trees, has spread into a 3,200 square foot area and is about 1.5 km in length.
The park has a children playground, a dedicated picnic area, plenty of benches at several places, popular tennis/pickleball courts, lush green grounds, comfortable to walk unpaved trails, a labyrinth to have a meditative walk, lots of shaded areas, numerous flowers of many kinds in 17 alluring gardens.
The botanical gardens of silver springs gets 5/5 stars for all the ravishing gardens, picnic area, tennis courts, playgrounds, and walking trails.
The downside:
The biggest drawback; however, that keeps some people from visiting and enjoying the inviting place is that unleashed dogs are allowed to run freely and approach anyone, so they create panic in those who are afraid of dogs or have had bad experiences with them. In my perspective, in all public places, dogs must be allowed only if they are leashed and under control of their owners.
Also, surprisingly, the sizable park, that has a lot to offer, does not have hygienic, well-maintained washrooms. There is only one porta-potty, and most people try to avoid using such washrooms unless there is an emergency.
The park has a children playground, a dedicated picnic area, plenty of benches at several places, popular tennis/pickleball courts, lush green grounds, comfortable to walk unpaved trails, a labyrinth to have a meditative walk, lots of shaded areas, numerous flowers of many kinds in 17 alluring gardens.

Quite possibly one of the best hidden gems in the city of Calgary! The most amazing part is that it's volunteer run by the Silver Springs Community Association!!! From spring to snowfall, what you see will change with every visit. The variety of annuals and perennials is spectacular in this urban botanical garden! If you want to take a leisurely stroll through the entire garden and enjoy the space, give yourself two hours (can definitely be done in less, though). Consider bringing a picnic - there are plenty of tables and benches in shaded areas. It is also dog friendly, even having a fresh, cold water station! Off leash is allowed, but it's not fenced in. Free parking is limited and in front of a ball diamond so park at your own risk!
Relatively new garden by the Peace Bridge. Very relaxing, lots of places to sit and chill. I like the layout, kind of different with lots of paths.
The first time I visited this place I was amazed. The entire wall covered in greenery, felt like you were in an oasis. Just went in there today and all the greenery was replaced with a giant TV. So, all the allure is now gone. It's a nice open space, but it is now just like every else. A place to sit with a TV on the wall.

Beautiful and calm indoor park! Lots of seating, separated by bamboo. A low fountain for background noise, but also high ceilings and lots of light. A great place for a coffee or lunch! Located in Jameison [sp?] Tower.

Super peaceful and calm place. Great water features. Nice bamboo plants very calm area to meet for a coffee. Some of the seating arrangements are a bit further apart so it makes it a bit awkward to meet with more than 1 person. Really lovely hanging art (blown colourful glass??).
Went on a grade 6 class feild trip to downtown the winter Garden was one of the places shown to us. Was very pretty clean and quiet.
Very nice and clean garden in the middle of Calgary downtown. It is located in the BP building on 4th Avenue. It has beautiful chihuli garden (Seattle) blown glass chandeliers. It has black granite flooring and black couches. Serene waterbodies and bamboo garden provide Japanese garden ambiance. Nice place to relax and unwind during a lunch break.
Went here for the first time with my kids while waiting for my wife to get off work. It's a very serene and peaceful setting. A nice water feature runs though the middle fo the area, and the plants and seating are placed thoughtfully. My kids, which are normally a bit hyper, really took to the area, and were calmed by the atmosphere.
Large glass, nice views and pleasing materials all lend to a pace where once can have a nice quiet lunch or coffee, or just spend some time having an "ah" moment.
