Our walk from home to Rideau Hall was rather amusing and lovely. We couldn't get a detailed tour, but it was still a nice walk to explore the place.
It sent me into dreaming about how I would have lived in this place if it was mine. The video showcases a bit about that.
Tip: Make sure to book a guide tour if you want to learn more about the place in detail and see the inside.

The Rideau Hall tour in Ottawa was a fantastic experience. The abundance of artistic portraits provided a captivating glimpse into Canada's history. The premises were impeccably maintained, showcasing a meticulous attention to detail. The knowledgeable tour guide expertly led us through, making the 45-50 minutes both informative and engaging. The decoration and intricate details throughout the hall were nothing short of amazing, truly adding depth to the tour's experience. Overall, a highly recommended visit for anyone seeking a blend of art, history, and remarkable craftsmanship.

There was no parking in the premises so had to park in the adjacent streets.
One of the most beautiful and memorable parks in Ottawa. Many trees were planted by the kings, queens, princesses, and prominent politicians of the world. Incredibly gorgeous in the fall. Great place to take photos.

Really interesting! You have to pre-book your free tickets online. And there is free street parking close as well. You get a tour of the major important rooms inside the hall.

The outside of rideau hall and gardens requires no ticket. Just walk in and enjoy! Beautiful gardens!!
beautiful place.

There is a FIFO-style free tour guide who talks extremely fast :)) You can embrace the serenity of the garden with having a 30 mins hall tour. Worth to visit.
Love the free guided tours. The residence has some great rooms for photo ops. A must see if you are visiting Ottawa. The grounds also offer a beautiful space for walking or picnics.

Great grounds for walking or biking. Tours of the house are quick and cool to see, usually going every 30 min no sign up required. The gardens are very nice (only open during open door days). Free street parking on MacKay street.
This place is Calming! The waterfall sound is all what you need after a long day

The garden was beautiful and peaceful, and the guardians were very patient as they stood by our side until we finished taking our group photos. It was interesting to see the variety of trees, each one planted by a different president or leader from around the world.
If you want to visit there, make sure to purchase your tickets earlier online.
Highly recommended!

Nice beautiful place... they are open all year round for tours and it's free. only thing is you have to make a call and reserve your spot. they go by appointments only. P.S it doesn't have to be a big group even one person can get tour as well. we took advantage of Doors Open Ottawa and got to see their beautiful green house that's not usually open every day for public. The green house had plants ranging from big jades, pinaple, oranges and many exotic flowering plants as well. it's a very well maintained green house, really impressed.
there is an ice rink for winter ice skating thats free too. parking is on street or paid. easy access by transit.
good to know the history of politically important persons (if ur interested).
Un coin du paradis !
An area where you could rest before or after the rideau hall
It’s a nice place to explore and know about the different key timepoints in Canadian History. It recognises the main ethnicities that existed on the land of Canada since the recorded history and the time after that.
The place also contains roses from different parts of the world. It couldn’t be seen in winter but in summer, probably July, it looks lovely.
A lovely garden.
I use to go there and enjoy nice time.

A solid park. Lots of shade, a great play structure and a splash pad. Perfect for a quick run away and picnic.
Walking through the garden in November is still enjoyable. There were still some roses in bloom & Jack Frost is quite the artist. So beautiful with a touch of frost. Lovely garden to stroll through. The roses are so beautiful and so many varieties.

A nice place to hang on while you are waiting.
Nice place to picnic.
This little garden is well taken care off. It's pretty much next to the Rideau Falls Lookout point, and hosts a variety of beautiful tulips.

Ever wondered when those beautiful tulips are planted? Well, i discovered today during my bike-ride to this spot. The bulbs are planted around the end of October, and then tulips bloom in the month of April. Although, these bulbs may look all the same to you, they are planted according to their colours; blue tulips, pink, yellow etc., Interesting, 'eh?

A stop over at this garden is a must during your bike ride or run. It will freshen you up.

Beautiful garden space! Will come back!
Small urban garden(very small). I visit it frequently to take photos of insects/birds in the garden due to its proximity to my apartment. It is part of a larger park that is part of a larger park(no joke), there's a water playground for kids and big enough to kick or throw a ball around. Keep going east to go through a series of small parks.
Great community garden in old Ottawa South! Complete with a biodome for growing things out of season. Volunteer driven. Small but well maintained plots...
Cute little park. My kid loved the mini splash pad on the very hot days we have been having.
My wife and our daughter enjoyed having our mini picnic lunch here. Love being surrounded by the greenery
