Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff. House wine was extremely smooth. Food was above average. I recommend the boar ragu sauce and the sausage and truffle.
Absolutely delicious food! Each person at our table got a different type of entree and every single dish was AMAZING. Strongly recommend the truffle dishes, great strong flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the service was attentive and helpful. Can’t wait to come back!
I have been in Florence for a week… We have ended up at this restaurant 3 times now. The best pasta I have ever had, the service is amazing and friendly. Will be going here more often while I am still in town!
This is the best restaurant that ive visited while I was in Tuscany.Ordered spaghetti bolognese, didnt expect much, but i was really surprised…Prices are ok,as I expected.
A truly unique place. We were in Florence for only 2 days and while walking around the streets during the day we noticed the restaurant. We had dinner there both evenings. Really cozy place and you feel relaxed, and you can enjoy the delicious food. Whatever you choose it will be tasty for sure.
The service is more than perfect and the staff are friendly and somehow they don't make you feel like a tourist.
Delicious food, wine, pleasant ambiance, smiling people, what more could a person need.
Gustavino Piazza della Signoria was the first restaurant we tried in Florence, and it was delicious enough to be memorable. The gnocchi was nutty and rich, the meat was juicy and extremely tender. The wine was tasty, and most notably, the olive oil had a truly rich scent. The price was not expensive either; it's definitely one of the restaurants I'd love to visit again.
Yesterday my husband and I had lunch here - I ordered tagliatelle with porcini mushroom sauce. It was, without a doubt, the worst (and only bad) meal I have had in my 3 weeks in Italy. The porcini mushroom “sauce” was a whole lot of very, VERY slimy mushrooms, that I could not eat, because the texture was so off-putting. I ended up eating the pasta, but leaving the whole batch of slime mushrooms in the bowl. I did tell the waiter that it was absolutely awful, he apologized, and then I told him again before I left, because we were charged full price for it.

He said that lots of Italians eat at this restaurant and they love the mushrooms cooked that way. I’m thinking NOT. I have noticed when others post negative reviews - the same reasoning is used to defend the food.

We were looking for a place for lunch, and it looked adorable, but we should have kept walking. What a disappointment.
As a person with a dairy allergy, staff went out of their way to accomodate me with nothing being too much trouble. The gorgeous waitress took the time to converse with us about the city. We dined twice and will definitely be putting this restaurant on the list of ‘must dos’ for family and friends back home in Australia. Bellissimo 🥰
This restaurant is awesome we live right around the area and come here at least two or three times a month! The food is so good and we feel so at home here! The vibes are cozy and it feels like a traditional Italian experience. The staff is very friendly and every time we pass the restaurant we say hello! Would for sure recommend
An absolute delight from start to finish! The moment we entered, we were greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. The ambiance is charming, with rustic decor that transports you to the heart of Tuscany. The food was simply divine – each dish bursting with fresh, authentic flavors that showcased the best of Italian cuisine. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive, offering wonderful recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Osteria Del Proconsolo is a must-visit destination for anyone craving an unforgettable culinary adventure in Florence. We'll definitely be returning
If you are in Florence you must visit this Osteria. Good prices for the service and food. Pesto was tasty and with a lot of sauce and spaghetti carbonara too, spaghetti size is a bit bigger than usual and gianciale was delicious.

This spot is seriously one of the coolest in town! The ragù is a game-changer for Italian food lovers. The waiter was super friendly, hooked me up with some awesome suggestions. Loved the vibe! Count me in for a comeback!!!
Two stars for the waiter who recommended us to take us in. He is a nice person. The crostini wasn't fresh, but the pasta tasted good. Because my friend came from France and i wanted him to experience the local steak in Florence, we ordered the most expensive steak chianina I.G.P. on the menu. Unfortunately, the meat was very hard and salty, the beef was cut in a very thin way. When we left and told the waiter that it was too salty, he said it was Italian‘s taste and we didn't understand it.Good excuse but I work in Italian I know it’s not true.We spend 168eur and we never get a smile from him. Can’t imagine if we just take two pasta how can he treat us.
We chose this place randomly but were glad we did. The menu was very traditional, but everything was executed very well, except the pizza, which I would not order again. The atmosphere was inviting and the service perhaps the best we had in Italy.
Food was amazing - I enjoyed everything we ordered: T-bone steak, fusilli pesto, spaghetti alle vongole, mushroom risotto. I was weary about the service based on the reviews but it was not as bad as expected. I would say they are not super friendly but they are at least polite and service was fast. We visited early for Italian standards - exactly 12 noon for lunch service. Price was a bit on the higher end compared to the other places we've visited in Italy but still in the "reasonable" spectrum. Worth a try.
By far the best meal I had in Florence! We wanted to get the florentine steak while we were in the city, so we had it hear. The T-bone was delicious. The crust was very flavorful, probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. The server was also hilarious! Made the table laugh several times. If you like eggplant, get the veggies on the side. They cook it well!
