Staff here are fantastic, they are friendly and have excellent knowledge of the store product and are more than happy to assist and advise you. When asking for advice, they find out how you will use the products you are asking about and recommend the best option for you (not necessarily the more expensive option).

Zero customer service, two staff working, and neither bothered to even say hello. I found a jacket online I wanted to buy, found it on the shelf but decided to take my money somewhere else.

The service here is very good. I have made 2 puffer jacket purchases in the last 4 weeks and have been happy with both purchases. Prices are very good, the quality is excellent, the store is well presented, the layout is nice, the store is always immaculate and the staff are always very welcoming upon entry and a pleasant farewell is given. I highly recommend MacPac New Plymouth for Puffer Jackets. I will be back!
We were after some tramping boots but they had very few in stock in our sizes. Also, while the girl who served us was friendly and tried to be helpful she didn't have a great knowledge of the product and she was also a bit timid.
I wanted to buy a down jacket for my husband. I had looked online at their sale section, and had taken some screenshots of what I'd like. The girl who served me was so helpful, letting me know about the different weights of the down, and what would be suitable. I would highly recommend Macpac as a place to get jackets from. Good prices too.

Absolutely amazing staff, that are extremely helpful. They know their gear and find the right fit for your needs. Additionally they have great sales throughout the year which means some things that might feel on the expensive side can be more than affordable. They also provide information on keeping the gear clean as well as some local information on some great tracks!
