Best Latina food ( Peruvian mostly)that I’ve ever had in Long Island, the ceviche with yuca is so good, the portions are American size, Latina atmosphere and good service!

We came for our annual Christmas family dinner outing. We ordered the tuna tartar, wedge and Cesar salad, oysters, porterhouse and strip steak and multiple sides. Everything was absolutely excellent. Christina’s service made our experience spectacular. We will definitely be returning!

I went to Chops for the first time on a Saturday afternoon for a private event. My brother is one of the owners, so I want to disclose this upfront as I write my review. Chops is a high-end steak house in downtown Patchogue that is a prohibition/speakeasy themed restaurant. The place has a very cool vibe. They have an awesome bar with an impressive selection of craft cocktails. I started off with a hazy IPA from Montauk Brewing Company. For my second drink, I had a smokey old fashion. I love bourbon, and the presentation of how this drink was given to me was remarkable. See the attached video. I savored every sip of this old fashion. Since I was here for a private event, the food I ate was only appetizers. Some of the food we had was shrimp cocktail, lump crab cakes, Oysters Rockefeller, and baby lamb chops. All of the food was outstanding, especially the baby lamb chops. What I love about Chops is the dining experience. The food, drinks, and service are exceptional, but the way they treat their customers is what makes this a wonderful place to eat and drink. I look forward to coming back to have a steak dinner at Chops. I will also order another smokey old fashion.

I highly recommend this restaurant, the staff is top notch, the alcoholic beverage is very tasty, the food is very excellent in seasoning… the place is very clean…

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I frequent every steak house on LI and honestly- this is my #1.
To start- the ambiance and theme. Love the speakeasy vibes, the small attention to detail (lighting, decor) and the intimate vibe of this small place.
The service was IMPECCABLE. We were greeted at the door by the host (and I believe one of the owners?) JP with a smile and beautiful greeting. Best first impression. Our waitress, Catherine, was probably the best waitress I’ve ever had. She was SO sweet, attentive, quick to respond and really made us feel welcome and appreciated. I’d recommend asking for her as your server because you’ll be guaranteed an amazing dining experience.
The kitchen was prompt but we did not feel rushed at all. My favorite part of the entire experience was the time they allotted between each course (wine first, appetizer second, soup third, entree and then desert). It gave ample time for the waitress to clean plates away and tidy the table between courses and I felt like every dime spent there was worth it for the length of the experience we had.
The food… I am speechless. The lobster bisque was the best I ever had. Chunks of fresh lobster and the bisque itself was full of flavor. We got the thick cut bacon appetizer and it was delicious. The entrees were cooked perfectly (petit filet and whipped potatoes) and the bone marrow butter was out of this WORLD. I would drink it straight. We got the bananas foster for 1 to split for desert (it’s a very large portion for one person- no need to get the portion for 2) and it was also so tasty. A bottle of champagne and a shot of espresso for drinks.
We got to talking with our wait staff and they told us about their complimentary shuttle from their further parking lot on the weekends which is super thoughtful and goes above and beyond all the other patchogue restaurants. I can’t wait to try their boozy brunch on a Sunday soon.
This place really provides the full experience you look for when going to an upscale steakhouse and I couldn’t be more pleased. The prices were actually very on par with other steakhouses locally, if not cheaper. For all our food, champagne (moet & Chandon) and desert/drinks we spent about 300$ on the bill. Very worth it.
I will definitely be back for many future date nights!

Celebrate my husband 50th birthday. The staff was very cheerful and friendly. The food was good. His meat was medium well vs. how he prefers it medium rare. Octupos little over cooked. Everything else was great. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Drinks are definitely pricey.

Visited the restaurant towards the end of their run, before they closed. Ordered food and drinks. For what the food was, the prices were way out of whack. The food was nothing special at all. Just by charging high prices doesn't necessarily create value or improve quality. There are so many more restaurants around that do a better job for better prices.
Sorry but I won't miss this restaurant.

We have dined, at quite a few steakhouses, and Chops is by far one of the most decadent. Greeted and seated with devine intention. Every aspect from the meal, ambiance, and tasteful music made for a most pleasurable experience. Our server and the entire staff were attentive and courteous. The food was phenomenal! Looking forward to dining here again!

I had one of the best nights in a very long time. Met the owners who were super people and friendly. Food and drinks were absolutely amazing. Staff were just super attentive and accommodating. Music was great, we had such a great time. Can’t wait to go back.

As a Virginian visiting LI, a trip to LI isint complete without having at least one Long Island Iced Tea and the one at The Oar always hits right. For appetizers, the baked clams and fried calamari was absolutely delicious. Each one of our seafood entrees were fresh and full of flavor. And the service is always excellent.

A perfect waterfront restaurant for drinks and seafood!

The air conditioning was weak. They left a door open, which made it even worse. Too hot. The service was excellent, but the food was overrated. My fish and chips were quite good, but my wife's dish of seafood risotto was mediocre. At the prices they charge, I expected better. Again I will say that the service was very good.

Took my bf for his birthday our first visit here. From the moment we walked up to the door we were welcomed. Had reservations and was seated immediately. Inside slightly dark but definitely 1920s vibe which was romantic. For appetizers we had shrimp cocktail and the lobster lollipops. Shrimp were colossal shrimp and were delicious. The lobster lollipop was definitely a different idea and very tasty. Would like the butter to have slightly more flavors but the wasabi sauce was good. We both had New York strips and both were cooked to perfection with a slightly charred outside. Creamed spinach was also delicious! For desert we had the chocolate cake which was delicious however after an interruption with fire alarms we could not finish as when we got back to our table it was cake in the middle of melted ice cream. Slightly disappointed we weren’t offered another dish to remedy the mess. All in all we are looking forward to our next visit and possibly our new favorite steak house

We went to hear a band and ended up having a wonderful dinner and evening.

Came back from Watch hill and hoped for a good seafood dinner... I had the fish and chips and my wife had the calamari, good portion but BURPED THE 0LD FRYING OIL FOR HOURS, yes both of us, we had taken some home but threw it all out as we did not want a repeat of this terrible greasy experience. Very expensive and could not even come close to the quality of Love fins food truck at Watch Hill (29.00 at Oar vs 19.95 at food truck) Will NOT return!!!
Oh and Valet parking ONLY???? SICK!

We were greeted by a wonderful hostess named Jamie and started our night at the bar. Our bartender Jennifer was terrific and helpful. There was a nice selection of beer on tap as well as a creative cocktail menu.

When seated, we had the pleasure of having Amber as our server. She was outstanding. She was tremendously professional, made great recommendations and was personable.

The food was delicious and drinks were really well made.

I would definitely come back.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our waiter was attentive. The atmosphere is great, right on the water. Open, light. Two critiques: I needed a new glass because it was dirty. The food was decent, sauce was a little watery but good. Dessert was delicious, better than the entree. I’d go back and try something different maybe for lunch instead of dinner.

Jim, Russ and staff were absolutly amazing in making my daughters graduation celebration perfect! Jim’s suggestions for the brunch menu were a hit with everyone, they couldn’t stop raving about the food. The Nutella Banana French toast was to die for and Jim’s omlettes were so tasty. The apple horse radish salmon was the talk of the party!!!! The service was superb. This is our second time hosting a small intimate gathering of about 40 people at their restaurant and they never leave a stone unturned. Last time was when our daughter made her communion in 2nd grade and now her highschool graduation. Just goes to show that this amazing establishment continues to thrive in Patchogue. Thank you again to everyone at Perabell for everything!!!

Best of everything! Fantastic location. Came here on a Friday around 7 to celebrate daughters college graduation. The food was unbelievably amazing, drinks were on point! Scenery, breathtaking service FIVE STARS!! I’ll definitely be coming back again.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Chops. We also had our daughter with us, and to our surprise, they offered a kid friendly option that wasn't on the menu.

The food was excellent, the staff were awesome, and the atmosphere was everything we needed for our celebration.

Beautiful atmosphere, it's not quite summer yet so it was too breezy to eat outside so I ate at their very nice bar. Even inside you feel like you're outside. Baked clams to start, lots of clam and other yummy things in those, excellent. Soft shell crab avocado sandwich was the bomb, plenty of avocado and crab, see picture. Oar fries were so good I took what I didn't finish home so my kids could try them.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. The service was excellent and so was the food. We split a mac and cheese appetizer which was SO good. I ordered the crispy chicken with mashed potatoes (with shallots!) and sauteed spinach and my S.O. had wasabi and sesame encrusted tuna on a bed of shrimp fried rice. Both plates were fantastic. Our server, Annalise, is SO personable and helpful - great sense of humor and very knowledgeable about the menu. She was an absolute delight. It was a very successful and relaxing evening out. We'll surely return, especially since there's an amazing dessert on the menu that we have to try (waffle bread pudding with maple bourbon ice cream - seriously??) but were too full to fit another bite of food in our bellies. Great place, great service, great food... what more can you ask for on a lazy Sunday night?

I can't say enough! We had an event at the Oar last night and the they were on their A- game! Anything we needed, Donna was there in a snap. She had a solution for every speed bump I hit while setting up and a smile on her face the whole time. I've never been to their resteraunt or catering hall before and we took our chances. So glad we did! The scenery around the catering hall building wasn't great, but everything else was. I'm sure the resteraunt had a nice view, it's right in the water. We'll definitely be back for the resteraunt, and we highly recommend the catering hall

First time here food had so much flavor very good service was good very quick for the food to come out and very tasty. I had the fried rice with beef pork chicken shrimp and fried chicken as I'm not a big fish person The fried chicken was so good very light batter excellent

I had blackened sword fish with a puréed sweet potato and green bean that was amazing. My friend had a wonderful kale salad with shrimp and a side of huge grilled asparagus. See photos. Wonderful!

Excellent service. Accommodated our group quickly without a reservation. I had the Wedge Salad and the Spare rib gnocchi. Both were very good, but not amazing. The gnocchi was a little grainy, not smooth textured, but still tasty.

Came at 5:30pm on a Friday afternoon and was seated for an outside seat immediately. Coconut martini and rum punch was very good. Coconut martini could’ve used a little more liquor though. Mojito was not good at all, too much seltzer not enough mint or strawberry flavor. Octopus appetizer was good not rubbery at all. Grilled salmon was nice the noodles were cold but I didn’t complain because I feel like it went well with the salmon. Cod fish was good as well, mash potatoes tasted like it had a bit too much milk in it and lacked salt and pepper. I would come again.

Polite service, explain items on the menu. Food came out fast, was fresh and hot. My fish had a lot of flavor and the sauce was amazing. Will be going back to try more of the menu.

It’s always so nice to be there, the appetizers the main courses are great, the music it’s not that loud so you can have a nice talk, I like this place a lot! If you are in the area you should stop by. The portions of the food are pretty good if you compare with the places around it.

Short Ribs so good, I do really recommend them a lot!!!

Buffalo wings the give you like 10 pieces for around 12$ and when I was a game they were 5$ pretty awesome deal

Great Peruvian place! Top notch food if you are looking for something from the region. Really awesome ceviche and tripe. It is worth going for the food if you are looking for something new.

But depending on when you go expect a lot of people. Not a ton of drink selections either. English is second language. Very clean but cheap napkins and glasses, etc. For the price is a bargin however.

Everything was delicious. The bathroom was clean as well and was a single person bathroom. The seating is different but cozy. My only issue was with the location of the door. Maybe if they added 2 sets of doors then it will help but on a breezy cold night like the one I went on which was a Friday night (not that busy surprisingly) every time the door opened you could feel the cold air rush in and try to freeze you and your food up. The atmosphere can use a little more touching up of the country and its prettyness. They could play some music low of the country as well or just music in general, Enough so that your not listening to everybody else's conversation or having silence awkwardness while eating. Now to the food. While you wait they give this spicy but great greenish sauce with corn kernels that are an awesome meal opener and they will refill it without no problem. Not other places where you have to ask. I ordered a dish named "Jalea" which is a seafood plate with fried crab legs, fried shrimp, calamari, fried muscles, and fried fish on a bed of yuca fries topped with a onion salad. Mmmmmm. To the eye everything looked amazing. I enjoyed every single bit of it, And yes they serve a lot enough where you might just be taking some home with you. I also got it with a side of white rice and beans which was also delicious. My wife got a plate which consist of fried flounder and white rice and beans. She didn't like the flounder so much but it was made very well. She was just expecting something different. I loved the food here and I will be returning for my "Jalea" again. The server we had attending us was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. My mother had the same thing I had and had no complaints. I'd Give this place a try if you want a different taste then fast food. I give it 5 stars due to the attention given by the servers and the foods taste and detail. The sauces they gave us by the way where amazing.
